Part the third:

Welcome all anti-fertile fuckers! This is our clique for those trying longer than 6 cycles and are pretty fed up.

Here are our Fucked Off TTC Commandments

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to other when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

Our spreadsheet which includes what supplements (and potatoes) we are trying in our journey to motherhood.

I thought they reckoned sex before FW helps make sure the swimmers are fresh, but not sure how much difference it actually makes. Dunno about TWW; we definitely slack off a bit then...

Am with you on the short cycles, think that's why it feels exhausting :s

Ugh bubblegum sorry about the preggo moaning

LovePinaColada · 03/12/2017 00:43

Baby bombs GALORE today! 😢😢

LexieJean · 03/12/2017 08:15

@quiet and @polkadot that’s true- the first swimmers can be a bit slow if it’s first dtd after break for af, but I think after once they’re good to go. So there’s a ‘clear out shag’ then it’s down to business!

micropig · 03/12/2017 10:33

Ha, I have a high sex drive so we DTD quite a lot of we aren't too tired, this month has been way more than normal, and often initiated by DH (who has a lower drive than me). He seems to be getting into this TTC business.

Because it's mainly me initiating, we don't do it as much during TWW, probably because I start feeling sorry for myself then!

AF due either today or in about 4 days time coz of my wonky cycles. No sign today. May buy a test tomorrow for Tuesday morning because hey, why not torture myself every once in a while? 😂😩

micropig · 03/12/2017 10:34

@LovePinaColada sorry to hear that! I am kind of dreading Xmas for that as I suspect there will be a few announcements.

SoozC · 03/12/2017 11:57

Yeah, my extended family (I have lots of cousins) seem to have a habit of sending emails on Boxing Day announcing engagements or pregnancies... Every year at least one cousin gets married and three or four have babies. One year there was a massive argument on email because one cousin announced a pregnancy and then another cousin replied to everyone saying congrats and announced their engagement. Brother of pregnant cousin was incensed that someone else should "take over" their announcement email... sigh

I felt very smug not announcing my engagement to the family. The ones that needed to know, needed to know. I didn't need to validate it by announcing via email.

But I was going to post a FB for close friends only of me on Christmas Day in a baby bump t-shirt (black with a ribbon around where the bump goes) as a way of announcing to those who didn't already know. That idea is obviously shelved and the t-shirt is shoved in my bottom drawer, right at the back. Sad

Si1ver · 03/12/2017 14:05

Oof, that's hard Soozc. We were meant to be telling our friends next weekend at my husband's birthday.

LovePinaColada · 03/12/2017 15:23

Argh so sorry @SoozC, that's so difficult. This year has flown by & can't believe it's christmas & we're all still here. Boo!

Who is next to test?

LovePinaColada · 03/12/2017 15:24

Oh & @juneybean - how are you? Missing you on here. x

SoozC · 03/12/2017 15:39

I was wondering where @juneybean was, too. I hope she's okay.

I'm due to test on Dec 14th (DH's birthday).

Si1ver · 03/12/2017 17:39

16th for me.

Justwaitingforaline · 03/12/2017 17:59

Should have been 14th for me but now 16th as I ovulated two days late this month.

Bubblegum89 · 03/12/2017 18:34

Oh Sooz 😞 bless you

I just finished af so I’m nowhere near a testing day but I’m not doing opks this month so I’m hoping my cycle goes back to 28 days so I don’t end up getting caught out on Christmas Day. Good luck to all of you close to testing!

Dandelion89 · 03/12/2017 18:51

I’m not using any ops this cycle either. I found myself stressing over them last month and my cycles are different now so just going to try and go with the flow.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 03/12/2017 19:09

My AF was due 14th but now 16th as I also ovulated two days late (I think yesterday, waiting for FF to confirm). I told you it was the full moon ladies!! New moon due 18th...

FairyAnn · 03/12/2017 19:49

My AF is due tomorrow and we're moving house in the next fortnight. My nerves are shot!

Don't think it would even be possible to catch when this stressed 😞

Whenisitmytime · 03/12/2017 21:54

AF enroute as we speak, spotting started on Friday which was late for me! Have gynae apt on 15th & hopefully we’ll have dh’s sample results (it’ll b 2 weeks on Wednesday since he sent it in) just hope it’s a fixable problem! Can’t afford ivf

Bubblegum89 · 04/12/2017 00:10

So my partner is in work so I’m lying in bed overanalysing things. I was just wondering something. Almost 3 years ago, I had a surgical termination. I was under GA as I was too upset and traumatised as it was to be kept awake so I don’t really know what happened, if there were any issues/complications etc. Again, I was far too upset to ask anything like that afterwards and I just wanted to get the hell out of there and go and have a good cry at home.

A few days afterwards, I started having terrible labour-type pains. I was bleeding extremely heavily and started passing huge amounts of tissue. There was so much of it, it was almost black. I was in absolute agony and it went on for most of the day until I ended up in A&E. After a while, the pains subsided and the clots/tissue did too and by the time I was seen by a gynaecologist, I was bleeding but only lightly. She did an internal examination and said she couldn’t feel any evidence of any damage to my uterus (perforation etc) and I think she did an internal US (I remember her putting something up on there but can’t remember if it was an US wand or a speculum) but she said that it was most likely an infection as I had a high temp so I took antibiotics and that was that.

I’m thinking now though, doesn’t that sound more like retained products? Having severe, strong contractions, passing extremely large amounts of blood and tissue but it all eventually coming to a stop by the end of the day? I still have a photo on my phone of some of the stuff that came out because I was convinced I was dying and I noticed it as I was scrolling through my pictures earlier and it made me think maybe they got it wrong, especially as it had pretty much stopped by the time I was examined. It also makes me wonder if it was retained products, that perhaps they weren’t all passed and they’ve either blocked me up or calcified or something and that’s why I’m struggling to conceive.

I tend to not question health professionals but would an infection not last longer than a day especially considering it had stopped before I had any kind of antibiotics?

LovePinaColada · 04/12/2017 07:26

Good luck to all who are testing! I have my fingers crossed for you & sorry to all who AF is starting to arrive.

I am going nowhere with my pretty much constant, horrendous AF. Waiting for more results today - but I am anaemic now, shock horror! 😢

LovePinaColada · 04/12/2017 07:28

And @Bubblegum89, I have no advice or experience there but what an awful experience. Sending hugs & definitely could be worth sharing your thoughts with your doctor.

QuietTime · 04/12/2017 07:41

Good luck for test results pina

bubblegum sorry I can't offer any advice, but as pina says, it does sound like something to discuss with your GP or when you get your referral. I'm so sorry you went through that, though; know it must be awful having that at the back of your mind while TTC and waiting for appts. Flowers

Sorry about AF when - hope test results give you some answers

Ugh good luck with the move fairy - I found my first grey hair during ours a few years ago Grin I'm not sure it was related given it would've taken a while, but was the icing on the cake...hope it's exciting moving to a new place!

No opks sounds like a good plan dandelion was wondering the same myself next time

QuietTime · 04/12/2017 07:43

P.S. Is there anything yams can't do? They truly are magical Grin

Bubblegum89 · 04/12/2017 09:03

Thanks girls. I think that it would be in my medical records as I did describe it to the doctor at a&e. I do think that that’s been my problem, when I had that US last year for ovary pain, they said they thought they could see calcified scar tissue but I guess it could have been calcified products as they’d show up the same. Would make an awful lot of sense. It’s so shitty knowing I had that opportunity effectively taken from me and now I might not ever get it again. Such is life.

I need to find a way for it to take me 20 minutes to get to work even though I’m only 5 minutes away, I’m early and don’t want my boss to think that it’ll be a regular thing lol

FairyAnn · 04/12/2017 12:51

Thanks Quiet, just hoping we get in before Xmas now 😅

LexieJean · 04/12/2017 17:27

Ha! I’ve just seen that story @quiet and thought of you lovely lot! 😂

@bubble defo speak to someone and get it looked at. Sorry you had such a horrid experience.
