Part the third:

Welcome all anti-fertile fuckers! This is our clique for those trying longer than 6 cycles and are pretty fed up.

Here are our Fucked Off TTC Commandments

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to other when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

Our spreadsheet which includes what supplements (and potatoes) we are trying in our journey to motherhood.

@ronswansonstache no nhs ivf? That’s awful. What’s uniquinol?

Supplement wise I’m taking seven seas trying for a baby, and boots vitamin c +zinc.

Justwaitingforaline · 27/11/2017 21:24

I’m on cycle 16 over here!

ronswansonstache · 27/11/2017 21:26

@Dandelion89 got the recommendation from another poster on here - apparently good to help cell health in older women (I'm 38).

natural-fertility-info.com/antioxidant-ubiquinol.html

It might just be bullshit/ snake oil but I'm willing to give it a go! Bit pricey though - about £30 for a months' supply...

Hopeislost · 27/11/2017 21:36

Cycle 7 here and I'm taking Morrison's pregnancy vitamins and inositol.

QuietTime · 27/11/2017 21:38

bubblegum was the one with a positive test and worried about what to do.

You'll have to teach me the fold...

And totally missed the hair chat silver and micropig - have quite short hair at the moment, and initial cut was very much a 'fuck it, I need a change' cut :)

Hmm you guys are making me think I should at least go back on the folic acid...

Hope you're doing OK sooz

Bubblegum89 · 27/11/2017 22:14

I’ll take step by step photos for you next time I’ve got it out QuietTime ;) I just went to take it out so I could empty and clean it before putting it back in for bed. There was actually a fair amount in there but it was brown. Dark brown. I was hoping more for fresh bleeding over quantity to be honest so bit deflated about that. I’ll see what it’s like tomorrow. I know brown blood is old blood but I just don’t know why it’s pretty much all I get. Is it gross that I took a picture of the mooncup and its contents before I emptied it out?? 😂 just for future reference lol

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/11/2017 06:47

Hi bubblegum I hope your flow is redder today.

Question / observation for you veteran TTCers: I track my cervix every day ( except in AF) every cycle. Now I know that in theory you can get pregnant from sex to up to 6 days before ovulation BUT we also know that the sperm have to get into the womb and wait. What happens with me is that I get ewcm from about 6-7 days pre ov to ov day. But cervix is closed and firm until 1-2 days pre ovulation. I don't think anything gets through there until it opens up. Which means you have to be pretty damn accurate with timing. Thoughts?

LimpLettice · 28/11/2017 07:18

Morning ladies. 8dpo today and I feel nothing. Early but I do not feel hopeful about this cycle at all.

I take ubiquinol amongst my cornucopia of supplements. I'm month 4 of taking it so hoping it's kicking in. Along with half a million other things 🙄

Grumpy my understanding is that they can get in, coz they teeny, but the ewcm is there to keep them alive as long as possible anyway. I'd also say I keep an eye on mine and it changes throughout the day. So it might open up when you're not aware.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/11/2017 07:24

Thanks limp yes mine moves higher / lower throughout the day but in a higher range around ov if that makes sense! I haven't noticed openness varying over a day though (yes I have checked that often Blush)

RhiBee29 · 28/11/2017 08:01

BFN with FRER, cd29, 12dpo...I’m out! Thought I was in with a chance as boobs still very sore but looks like that’s not a symptom of pg only of impending af. Oh well off on a Christmas shopping weekend so there’ll be lots of wine and soft cheese for me WineSad

DoAsDreamersDo · 28/11/2017 08:29

I'm CD 36 now, so looks as though it's another abnormally long cycle for me, which is pretty annoying! I had a 38 day cycle a couple of months ago, but I thought my body had learnt it's mistake by now but obviously not!!

lostintranslocation · 28/11/2017 08:32

BFN here too. Very crampy last night, though no sign of AF yet, but it's coming :(

Was SO SO hoping I wouldn't spend my due date post miscarriage still not pregnant, but with only three weeks to go, looks like that's how it's going to be.

On to the next attempt.

NimbleKnitter · 28/11/2017 09:02

Grumpy - it takes sperm about an hour to get to the Fallopian tubes, so sex in the 2 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation should be more than enough time for them to get through.

Bubblegum89 · 28/11/2017 09:19

Grumpy I’m no expert but I think while your cervix is closed you’re not considered fertile BUT that’s not to say that some sperm can’t get through. Obviously it would be less than if your cervix was open but it’s still more than possible so I would just dtd anyway.

Period update is that I kept my mooncup in overnight, I had about the same amount in it as I did last night but it was dark red. So not brown but not bright red but I’ll take any shade of red so long as it’s not brown. You’re supposed to pour it down the toilet but I poured it into the sink just to check as you can’t tell properly when it’s all gathered in the cup. TMI but it looked a bit more like a period than yesterday as it had a couple of clots in it (I’m so sorry if anyone is eating their breakfast!) will check it again later but if anyone was thinking of getting one then you definitely should. A few of my friends said they’re super uncomfortable but I can’t even tell when it’s in, no leaks, I kept it in overnight with no problem. The fact you can basically keep it in as long as you want is good for lazy people like me lol. I’m just happy to not have that horrible chafing feeling you get with a dry tampon.

Sorry to hear about your BFN’s girls, surely it has to be someone’s turn for some good news soon?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/11/2017 09:47

I guess what I am saying is that I have been feeling all this pressure to DTD every day in FW which is like 7 days and by the time ov comes you are fed up of it.. when actually there's probably only 2-3 days it will work, so I should wait and save my energy? FF statistics show that >90 per cent of pregnant charts have DTD on ovulation day and the two days prior.

NimbleKnitter · 28/11/2017 10:02

Yep - definitely start later if you're losing enthusiasm by the end. Those later days are way more important than the earlier ones.

Try and start a day earlier though, to get all the dud swimmers out of the way

Bubblegum89 · 28/11/2017 15:23

Done my first full block on Facebook this afternoon. I’m part of a fb group of girls I have known for years from a forum I used to be on. The girl I said about the other day “oh I’m pregnant and we weren’t even trying yet!” That one lol she posted again today moaning because she’s so so excited and she wants everyone to be happy for her but people are saying it’s very early days and not being happy enough for her and it’s not fair. I know she’s going to be one of those people who just posts in the group non-stop about her accidental pregnancy and moaning about something or other and I just can’t deal.

Hopeislost · 28/11/2017 15:50

I went to see my GP today to try and get a referral to a fertility clinic. She's ordered blood tests, an ultrasound and a SA for dh before she'll refer us. It was actually quite reassuring as she asked lots of questions and said that we were doing all the right things.

SoozC · 28/11/2017 15:54

Totally get you. I'm in a place where no-one I know is pregnant (touch wood) but there seems to be a rash of recently-born babies. I hide basically anybody with a kid less than 2 or if they constantly post photos, I just can't deal with it, especially not right now. I was definitely more mellow when pregnant, so I have no excuse except out-and-out jealousy.
Self-preservation is required (especially when they complain about being pregnant), stay strong, @Bubblegum89 x

Merrz · 28/11/2017 15:58

Bubblegum how annoying, can you stay off the group for a bit, tell them you've been busy and keep forgetting to check or something?
I'm thinking about booking to go for a private scan and have bloods done just to check i'm ovulating and there's nothing obvious wrong. I'm sure i saw someone on here saying they were thinking about doing the same but i can't find the post now? I'm probably jumping the gun but it's actually not as expensive as i thought it would be and i think it would really just put my mind at ease.

florafoxtrot · 28/11/2017 16:49

Merrz, have you thought about temping for a cycle rather than doing the bloods and scan? That's normally a pretty good indication for ovulation? Apologies if you've already done that!

Hope - glad you got on OK at the GP. Sounds like you have a good one there! Ours have been pathetic but so much better once you see the specialists at the FC.

Sorry to those that have had BFN. Flowers she sucks.

Definitely block as required Bubblegum - its all about self preservation. As soon as I see a scan picture I just block, block, block. Amazingly.... I still have some FB friends.

Know what you mean about burnout Grumpy - its tough going when you are also trying to achieve other aspects of your life! Weirdly, we are now allowed to dtd until after I've had tomorrows scan as I might have loads of follicles and end up with quadruplets or something chance would be a fucking fine thing So its all a bit weird, we'd normally be started the schedule by now!

Third injection done, scan tomorrow to see how things are progressing.

florafoxtrot · 28/11/2017 16:50

*not allowed. Sakes

Bubblegum89 · 28/11/2017 16:58

Thanks ladies, glad I’m not the only one! I usually just unfollow but I could still see her posts on the group. She’s much younger than me, been with her new bf about 6 months and us already moaning about stuff to do with pregnancy despite being all of 2 weeks pregnant. The other ladies on the group aren’t too bad. Although when I started ttc last year, 5 of them were also ttc and since then, 3 are now pregnant and 2 just had a baby so I’m the only one left now which sucks. I hate feeling like that though, feels so bitchy and petty but I guess that’s who I am now lol doesn’t help that my little sister is always posting bump photos and scan pics with the caption “mummy and daddy can’t wait to meet you!” etc. I’m sure you all are very aware of that weird little punch feeling you get when you see stuff like that.

Good luck Flora :)
Glad you’re getting the ball rolling hope! And Merrz I personally would just wait for the NHS scans, unless you can easily afford to go private. The NHS aren’t quick by any means but the waiting time usually isn’t so bad.

Merrz · 28/11/2017 18:59

Flora I've just ordered a thermometer so going to try temping for a couple of months 1st.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/11/2017 19:07

The temping has really reassured me as I get a nice shift every month confirming ovulation. Acupuncture has made my chart neater - hopefully because it's stabilising hormone levels in each phase! Last cycle attached.

Yams, fertile feckers and what not to say.
