Welcome all anti-fertile fuckers! This is our clique for those trying longer than 6 cycles and are pretty fed up.

Here are our Fucked Off TTC Commandments

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to other when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

Our spreadsheet which includes what supplements (and potatoes) we are trying in our journey to motherhood.

@Si1ver that's hard. I'm well aware this will sound like I'm posting in a 'normal' TTC thread, so sorry 😳But is it worth trying tomorrow or Wed with FMU? What was the first test you got the +ive on?

Still no AF here, and 18 months of TTC tells me my nausea and CM are entirely usual at this point in my cycle, so unworthy of note 😢 Whereas one I'd have been so excited by now. Im not sure which is worse.

LexieJean · 13/11/2017 17:06

Oh thanks @nimble. That does indeed suck.
And requires patience which I am not very good at Confused

Bubblegum89 · 13/11/2017 17:28

How long were you ttc nimble?

NimbleKnitter · 13/11/2017 17:29

That’s mostly why I had decided to have an exploratory laparoscopy, instead of IVF.

The chances of natural conception are the same as IVF, if not higher, where there is unexplained infertility.

IVF/ICSI is best where there is a known fertility issue eg male factor or no Fallopian tubes.

Most other things - laparoscopy and sex

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/11/2017 17:34

What does the laparoscopy do nimble? Just check to see if there are issues? Congratulations by the way!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/11/2017 17:35

I’m still waiting for AF and thoroughly fucked off that I’m still in limbo even though I know it’s coming!!

Si1ver · 13/11/2017 17:37

@Tiredofbeingsotired sorry, my post was appallingly worded. My first was a Tesco cheapie and I did a dip test at the same time, both with fmu. These were both positive. Everything since, including a CBD have been negative both with and without fmu.

No period, none of the symptoms I had last time and definitely not a hint of a line.

Obviously all I can do is wait and test again in a few days, but my cycle is shot as this will be my first period since a mc, so I've no idea what to expect.

NimbleKnitter · 13/11/2017 17:40

Depends who you ask!

We’d been having unprotected sex for over a year.

Then in January I was referred to the fertility clinic for migraines, where they found ‘something’ that ‘probably wasn’t cancer’ (great bedside manner btw). Turns out it was a dermoid cyst on left ovary, which meant left ovary was basically a goner (no blood supply). But ovulating consistently from the right, earlier and earlier.

The also said that for my migraines, I’d have to take hormonal birth control, which would affect fertility for 2 years, once I’d stopped taking it. I’m 33. Seemed like choosing infertility.

So at that point (March) we decided to give it a go. Super relaxed at first. Then like a maniac.

So it was since July that we used opks and shagged every day, but temping before that.

This month we nailed our shagging - every day from 4 days before ovulation (to get rid of the sluggish ones) then every day until the day after ovulation.

Usually we had performance issues, but this month we soldiered on through.

I also started acupuncture, abdominal massage and castor oil packs.

NimbleKnitter · 13/11/2017 17:42

Robert Winston is a huge advocate of the laparoscopy.

It checks for issues in the uterus and tubes, but also checks the liver for damage.

Liver processes estrogen, so if it’s fucked you get a hormone imbalance. Ask me how I know...

NimbleKnitter · 13/11/2017 17:44

(Ps thanks for the congrats - I’m being a dick and not acknowledging them - seems like too early for congrats - long way to go yet!)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/11/2017 18:00

You are not being a dick Grin totally normal to feel nervous at this stage! Thanks for all the useful info x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/11/2017 18:03

We’ve scientifically shagged every single sodding cycle (6) since the miscarriage and not even a sniff of a line. I have just started acupuncture and am seeing GP Friday. I have an older dd from previous relationship so worried that it is a sperm issue. Or a womb lining issue as I’ve only had 2 day periods since the mc. Anyway thoroughly fucked off. Steak and wine tonight - still waiting for AF 🖕🏼🍷 🥩

LexieJean · 13/11/2017 18:30

Thank you for the tips @nimble I shall investigate the laparoscopy. Blood tests on liver were clear 🤞

NimbleKnitter · 13/11/2017 18:40

This book is fascinating and only £3 or summat on kindle

Thou shall not tell everyone to eat Yams
minime2017 · 13/11/2017 18:46

Great info nimble...makes me wonder if milk thistle should be added to the list of supplements to help cleanse liver. Also good to know there's alternatives to IVF, something I dont want to donnor would likely get the chance to as I'm 40.

NimbleKnitter · 13/11/2017 19:01

Inositol and choline - good for liver cleansing and PCOS

dudemeister76 · 13/11/2017 19:48

UGGGGHHHH, i knew i was out but I've started spotting and feeling like a pointless woman right now. This is such bullshit (today). Its like getting a kick in the teeth once a month.

dudemeister76 · 13/11/2017 19:52

Or a kick in the muff lol

LexieJean · 13/11/2017 20:25

Thanks so much for the info @nimble. I’ve read a Zeta West book that was full of info but somewhat terrified me with science bit about how teeny tiny the window of opportunity is! I need a new book so that’s good timing.
@dude that is crappy, sorry to hear that. I’m still fooling myself with (false) hope but pretty sure I’m out too. Total bullshit, agreed.

MrsRL · 13/11/2017 20:38

Congrats Nimble!

Though a bit rubbish to hear that there could be up to a years wait even after referral, especially as my GP area won't refer until 18 months ttc.

I'm pretty sure this month is a bust. 8dpo and I've started sporting and cramping ('normal' for me since we've been ttc) still another 5-6 days to wait for AF to show properly :(

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/11/2017 20:45

Well I’m now querying the accuracy of BBT charting via google. Desperate times. Going to bed period-less , yay I suppose? 13dpo and counting?? 🙄

Si1ver · 14/11/2017 09:52

14dpo, longest luteal phase every. Negative tests all over the place.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 14/11/2017 10:15

Another bfn this morning and just started pink spotting (14dpo) so I’m out 😔 also my longest LP ever. Must be the vitamin B6

Bubblegum89 · 14/11/2017 10:20

Anyone else in their tww and have zero hope? Lol. Cycle 12 for me so I’m losing the will and honestly, I just can’t think positive. What’s the point, it hasn’t happened in a year, I’ve not been pregnant at all for twelve whole months. The likeliness that on the 12 month mark I’m suddenly pregnant is basically nothing. I wish that your body was able to go “you’re pregnant” or “you’re not pregnant” and just let your period start straight away instead of making you wait two weeks. Everyone I knew who was LTTTC is pregnant now or they’ve just had a baby. Feel so left behind, I don’t really know anyone else who has been ttc’ing as long as me that isn’t on their way to pushing out a baby now :( I’m being referred to a fertility clinic, just had a repeat prolactin test this morning. Partner works nights so I’m finding myself lying there in bed on my own thinking about how IVF might be my only option (if I’m lucky) and how much it costs and how we don’t have that kind of money and even if we did, the failure rates, the injecting and all those hormones... it’s a scary thought. None of this was helped by my little sister posting a photo of her bump with her partner’s hand resting on it this morning. That was of course an accidental pregnancy. Sigh. Anyway, sorry, one of those feeling sorry for myself days :(
