TTC after recurrent miscarriage

Hi, just wondering if anyone else was in a similar place to me and wanted to chat about it? I'm 30, TTC my first and have had three miscarriages, all early (two natural MCs at five weeks, then a MMC where a scan at 6+5 revealed development had again stopped at 5 weeks). I've had RMC tests and am just waiting on the results of that but hoping to be able to TTC again from my next period, which should come any day now. I've found throughout the whole thing (have been TTC just over a year now) that it's really helped me to chat with people in similar positions, so if anyone wants to be TTC buddies please let me know!

What a corker of a line Bertie! Very pleased for you.

I feel we've done well on this thread recently. Here's hoping they're all nice and sticky and there will be more BFPs soon.

Hi all
Thanks so much for your messages this morning. Our baby girl was totally perfect (which I knew anyway, but nice to have that reassurance), she was completely bang on growth and development wise, no signs that she was struggling to get what she needed from placenta etc. What happened was sudden and extreme, there is some evidence of clots in my placenta and one of the autoimmune blood tests has come back positive for me. So I have been referred to rheumatology for further tests. I feel relieved in a sense that it is something that nobody could have anticipated. All my other risks had nothing to do with the event. So a lot of my anger has already abated. I feel so much calmer really which I hadn't expected. I think the simple fact that they are taking this as seriously as we are and that they have already said that it feels like they don't have the whole story yet is good. I feel much more like I can trust them then I thought I would.
All in all, I am very glad that we got the appointment before Christmas.

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/12/2017 15:35

What a gorgeous BFP bertie Grin I’m over the moon for you! You both knew!!!! So happy. We’re on a roll again! Love your tip too Smile Did you tell your mum?

Sorry you’re feeling ropey haff. Hope you get some rest over Xmas and feel better.

Exciting about your scan tomorrow lisa.

I’m 4dpo. Nothing to report. Finished work last Friday so on an epic wind down.

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/12/2017 15:37

Oh I’m so pleased it was a useful appointment miami. So glad you’re being supported and they’re going to find out what happened Flowers x

BertieBotts · 19/12/2017 16:24

Ah Miami that's good to hear. I'm glad you've had some closure on this before Christmas too. Onto next year, a fresh start for lots of us it looks like.

I didn't tell my mum! I kept it quiet even when she was asking about our appointment in Jan! I managed to mention pregnancy twice actually without giving the game away :)

DS had a friend over this evening so I managed to entice DH away telling him I had "a surprise for him in the bedroom" haha - had wrapped up a tupperware box with the test in. He cheated and didn't read my note but looked through the edge and said "...Are you sure?" I said look at it and you'll see if I'm sure! Then he joked about it not being very strong and I got worried and said well it's faded a little bit but I've got pictures of when I first did it, and he said no, that's the strongest one we've ever had!

He really really wants me to call the doctor tomorrow and my reasoned plan didn't placate him at all - humph. So I will call them and find out if they're open between xmas and new year and if not, book an appointment for the new year.

BertieBotts · 19/12/2017 16:25

Oh and apparently he had absolutely no idea and thought I'd come onto my period already, so there is that - he's more cautiously pleased than excited but that's OK - he got vv excited the very first time and then crashed from it. Whereas I'm already excited and not scared at all even though I probably should be. I just feel like everything is in place and if it doesn't work out at least we've found we can GET pregnant again.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 19/12/2017 16:35

I'm so, so pleased to hear that you found the meeting reassuring, miami, and that they're taking it as seriously as they should be.

Glad that you and DH are feeling happy and excited bertie - so you should be! Hopefully the doctor will be able to get you in ASAP.

I’m so happy about the BFPs Smile

No one deserves it more than you brave, beautiful women and berties news today plus other positive updates have given me a real boost. May the run continue!

We’ve had another death in the family, now 3 in 10 days. Fucking hell. But life goes on and new squidgy babies on the way is so special and lovely. Stick tight little beans.

keeponrunning85 · 20/12/2017 08:12

So sorry to hear about that Anne. I hooe life gives your family a break soon.

Miami I am so glad the appointment went well and you were able to get some answers about what happened to Eilidh at last. I hope your rheumatology appointment comes through quickly.

BertieBotts · 20/12/2017 11:31

Oh no Anne! Hugs, that is so horrible so close to Christmas too :( Boo to 2017.

I will probably stick around until the end of this thread if OK with all.

When I had my last miscarriage (no.5) the recurrent miscarriage clinic said to contact them when I next get pregnant to be put on steroids, progesterone etc. Did anyone else get offered the same? We didn't start trying for nearly 3 years afterwards and I'm worried about how on earth I'll get a referral in time to start meds. It takes 3 weeks to get a GP appointment.

Has anyone else had to get in touch with GP / hospital quickly and if so, how did you do it?

BertieBotts · 20/12/2017 12:35

They will usually have a set number of appointments set aside for urgent needs like that, kirin. For example when I called my Frauenarzt this morning they said they are open between Xmas and NY for pregnant patients only.

kirinm · 20/12/2017 13:00

Oh thanks Bertie. I'm not due to test for a few days anyway but it's good to know that some clinics are prepared for urgent calls.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/12/2017 13:04

I'm so sorry to hear of your family's loss, Anne - what a horrible time for you. Thinking of you Flowers

Kirin
I would call your epu and tell them your story, they hopefully will be able to find you in the system. Ring gp too. Our gp will ring you back same day even without an appt. great service, I got a prescription yesterday without having to physically see the doctor. All the best.

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/12/2017 22:12

Thank you. They were all elderly and had peaceful passings but cannot bloody believe the timing! Two funerals, one this week and one after Xmas. Drowning in admin.

On ttc front, this cycle I have myself some dotted crosshairs. Had it once in the past but it then updated with a solid. Said something about other symptoms making my temp rise less reliable. And it’s not a very convincing rise.

Usually temp around 7/7:30. Been later this week as off work. Woke at 6 today and it was 36.46. Nodded off again and did it when I woke again at 9 and it was 36.85. Had a horrendous night but reckon I had 3 hours before each one. What would you go with?

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/12/2017 22:16

This is with the early one. Massive drop. CD16. Going on x hairs 5DPO.

I know no one really knows, just seeing if anyone has any ideas!

TTC after recurrent miscarriage
LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/12/2017 22:20

I think I'd leave it as is and see what it does tomorrow, Anne - a one-off dip doesn't matter/mean anything, and I'd always trust the earlier one. I suspect it'll be right back up tomorrow.

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 20/12/2017 23:05

It's about the right timing for an implantation dip but that isn't a sure fire sign.

BertieBotts · 20/12/2017 23:06

The dotted crosshairs will be because of the watery CM one day after, that's all. If you take that out it will probably go solid.

I can't see what it says inside CP - what is that? Cervical Position? Again if that's showing potentially fertile signs after their crosshairs it will cause it to be dotty.

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/12/2017 23:22

Thank you for looking! I know you both have loads of real stuff going on Smile

I’ve taken the watery out and it hasn’t changed. Going to stick with the lower temp today. It was such an awful sleep it would be more likely to be a false high. Yep, cervical position. Was soft and open Friday, medium and closed Saturday and even though CD11 was early to ovulate and makes this cycle shorter than usual I woke up Saturday sure ovulation had happened.

Time will tell. Funeral admin and Christmas prep will keep me distracted.

BertieBotts · 20/12/2017 23:33

Trust me, I don't even have time to come on here when I have RL stuff going on! If I'm posting I have time and I want to :)

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/12/2017 23:45

Thanks bertie. Always been my temping guru! I’m so pleased about your pregnancy, can’t tell you what fantastic news it is. Here’s to the most uneventful pregnancies ever for all our lovely pregnant people Smile

lisa you had a scan today?! All well? Hope so.

BertieBotts · 21/12/2017 00:03

Aww, thanks Grin I am on knicker watch but touch wood, nothing at all so far.
