So, onto cycle number 2! Anyone else quite new to this game?

We started trying properly last month, and inevitably my husband was away during the key few days! Unsurprisingly, my period arrived bang on time so now we're onto cycle number 2.

I'm being very impatient about conceiving and it seems to have been forever already (I know, I'm being a crazy person!) but I think part of that is having taken pregnacare since April, even though we were still using contraception then. I guess I'm just not very good at not being in control... I've had to seriously educate my husband too - he seemed to be convinced that we could get pregnant at any time of the month, and that it would inevitably happen immediately! He didn't realise that it often takes months even for healthy couples.

@Aph413 that seems strange! Did you take the tests around the same time?

Internet cheapie which was positive was yesterday afternoon. Negative first response was first thing this morning. If no AF I'll test again in a week

@Aph413 I can't even imagine what I'd be like if I got a false positive, it's difficult enough as it is! Just try and stay positive and keep your chin up - it is only the first cycle after all and your body & hormones are going a bit mad I suppose Sad here's hoping for next week xx

Sat on the loo peeing into a container whilst holding a thermometer in my mouth to take my BBT... what in god's name am I thinking!! You know you have one of those moments you have to share and just don't know where to share it...!!!

And of course it's a BFN

Just going to do a test once a week from here until AF eventually decides to show it's face, I'm driving myself mad with this once every few days BS and Saturday is an easy day...

Started tracking my BBT today as day to see if it gives any hint of ovulation any time & then I've bought some ovulation tests to do in case it does... sigh

Hope everyone else is ok?

@peachesarenom - good luck for tomorrow! Fingers crossed for you. How are you feeling?

@APH413 - That must be awful to get two different results. Did you use first urine of the day for both? Maybe one had more hormone in than the other if not?

Are there any brands to avoid when testing? I have first response but i'm on cycle 1 and first time testing so not sure if they are all pretty much the same or not.

@PumpkinPatch000 I'm pretty sure most brands are similar - I've got some of the Boots ones now as it was getting too expensive, have used clearblue and first response other than that but most people on here seem to get a result from the cheaper ones too.

pumpkin the positive was in the afternoon and the negative in the morning. foreverretro I'm also testing once a week now. Fed up of waiting for AF to show up.

Not sure about brands in general I've got some cheap, some first response and some clear blues so I'm covering all bases!

Foreverretro I thought you had to check BBT before you even sat up in bed? Also, I PIAMT! The marg tub is a great size so you can pee standing up, much more comfy! Hahahhahaha!

PumpkinPatch000 I havr been naughty and testing pretty much every other day! All BFN! AF is actually due on Monday so may wait till AF is actually late to test now. I still have weird muscle stretching feelings in my lower belly area so I'm confused. Slept ages last night and also about 4 hours just now so a bit confused. Time will yell ultimately. Been craving salty things.

Aph413 I'm sorry if I missed it in conversation but are you actually late now? I heard it's difficult to get a false positive much more common to get a false negative so maybe you're not out?

peaches It'll be 5 weeks on Monday since my last bleed which is late by my standards but this is only cycle 1 post coil so I'm not really sure if I am or not. It'll be a lot easier when I know where I am because right now I'm doubting everything. My sense of smell has gone haywire, can't stop burping of all things and certain smells are actually making me sick.
I don't know how much of that is stress and my hormones returning to normal but I can't put it to the back of my mind. The only way I'd know for sure is if I went to the doctors for a blood test but they've already told me they won't do that yet.

@peachesarenom yeah Google does say that but I figure as long as I do the same thing each day it should still show a spike for ovulation. Will see what happens. My temperature is very low though it seems so now I'm just keeping an eye on that as well!

@Aph413 How long did you have your coil in? If you don't mind me asking?
I have had all kinds of symptoms as well, my sense of smell peaked around 10 days ago and has almost returned to normal now apart from certain things (fish, chlorine and farm animals so far...), which actually make me retch now when I've never had a problem like that before. My boobs were sore at the start of the week but again that's passed now. Now I'm just getting cramps on and off, sometimes quite severe, when I went to bed last night I was convinced I'd wake up to AF but nope. I'd just like it to start so that I know I'm at least ovulating! My brain is in panic mode...

@Aph413 - so sorry :( it's horrible feeling like your in limbo.

@peachesarenom - I don't blame you! I really don't know how I didn't to a test sooner, it's so tempting! It is all so much more confusing than I ever expected it to be. The more I read on it the more I realise how naive i've been! I think my AF is due on Monday to (accord to Clue app) but Flo thinks Tues so who knows.... I also only came off the pill a couple of months ago so my cycle length might not even be what i think. How are you feeling today?

Today i am 13DPO and i've been experiencing symptoms since 3DPO. AF I think is due tomorrow so I tested this morning and BFN. I'm so deflated and disappointed. I still have the symptoms such as cramps, nausea, back ache, sensitive to smells, emotional.... I feel worried now more than anything that if i'm not pregnant then why has been happening to my body for the past 10 days! i'm going to see if AF appears this week...Sad

Hi everyone. It sounds like there's been a whole heap of confusion for more or less everyone over the past few days. It's such a nightmare time, isn't it?!

According to Clue, I should have ovulated yesterday (and unlike last month, I've actually had plenty of EWCM so I think I have ovulated this month). I have a dreadful head cold at the moment, but we've still plugged away and have been having sex on the regular to try and get there this month. Not exactly been the most movie-worthy love making, I can tell you...

So far, October's been a great month (I got a promotion and pay rise this week! Hooray!) so fingers crossed we'll catch this month too... It'd be great to have a celebratory promotion baby!

My friends were over yesterday with their 6 year old and 7 month old last night and this morning. Loads of great cuddles! Here's hoping it'll get the baby dust settling too!

@peachesarenom i'm good thanks. i'm in the same position.. BFN yesterday and no sign of AF today.... back to waiting again. If AF doesn't arrive by Saturday i'm going to re-test then if I can wait that long
