We started trying properly last month, and inevitably my husband was away during the key few days! Unsurprisingly, my period arrived bang on time so now we're onto cycle number 2.

I'm being very impatient about conceiving and it seems to have been forever already (I know, I'm being a crazy person!) but I think part of that is having taken pregnacare since April, even though we were still using contraception then. I guess I'm just not very good at not being in control... I've had to seriously educate my husband too - he seemed to be convinced that we could get pregnant at any time of the month, and that it would inevitably happen immediately! He didn't realise that it often takes months even for healthy couples.

Negative frer this morning. I'm more than 12 dpo now so it's now the long wait for my period to come back.

Foreverretro · 01/10/2017 11:37

@Aph413 sorry to hear that - I hope your period arrives before too long & that things work out better next month! x

peachesarenom · 01/10/2017 12:40

Aph413 sorry to hear that. I did a random test this morning though prolly not due till next sun, also negative!

Aph413 · 01/10/2017 13:29

Fingers crossed for you peaches. I wasnt really expecting to get pregnant in my first cycle but it's amazing how down in the dumps it made me feel

peachesarenom · 01/10/2017 13:34

Aph413 oh I know. Don't let it though. Just plan for lots of DTD, schedule appropriately, ultimately that is it. My GP said not to worry about ov DTD makes the uterus prepare for the possibility of getting preggers x

Aph413 · 01/10/2017 13:48

peaches that's the plan. Lots of dtd for fun outside of the scheduled times.
Also going to head back to the gym this month to try lose a stone or so, can't hurt especially how out of shape I am these days. If I focus on something else then TTC won't become an ordeal

peachesarenom · 01/10/2017 14:15

Me too, just gonna write a meal plan now!

Aph413 · 01/10/2017 17:23

I'm working away all this week so not much chance of meal planning yet. But some gentle exercise should be manageable.

peachesarenom · 01/10/2017 18:41

I've just revised my cycle and med info and I have been supposed to take 2 tablets of metformin a day!!! Opps!

Aph413 · 01/10/2017 19:15

Oops. Were you only taking 1? Fingers crossed the correct dose helps you

peachesarenom · 01/10/2017 19:55

Thanks Aph413! I am pretty silly so I'm not surprised by myself.

My husband and I have a little project book, we've had it a few months but only thought about starting it today. One of our projects is trying to buy a house so we've been reviewing our spending. Our other project is to have a little girl (boy also acceptable!) hubby may have it the other way round. Anyway, it made me look at all my cycle info/dr appts over the last couple of years and that's how I realised I was taking the wrong dose.

It also helped me see how much my health has improved over the last two years and how I really must get back on the diet wagon asap!

Aph413 · 03/10/2017 14:50

Well I appear to have this going on. Not fmu so fingers crossed for the morning

So, onto cycle number 2! Anyone else quite new to this game?
Foreverretro · 03/10/2017 15:11

OMG @Aph413 - congrats! Everything crossed it's the same tomorrow!!

I'm still waiting of course... Confused

Aph413 · 03/10/2017 16:39

I've got everything crossed for tomorrow. DH has gone out to buy some frer and clear blue digitals, bit difficult to know when to test since I haven't had a proper cycle coming off the coil

Foreverretro · 03/10/2017 16:57

Yeah I've had the same thing, if I've read right I had mine out 4 days after you (4th September) - I've been testing every few days for the past fortnight because it's driving me mad not knowing! The wait is insane! I've felt like AF was coming any second since last Thursday but nothing yet... I did a FRER on Saturday but am determined to wait until Friday before I do the next one, assuming I haven't come on... which I probably will, tbf!

I hope they turn out positive for you Smile

Aph413 · 03/10/2017 17:03

Yep, just a few days after me. I had what I'd call a withdrawal bleed on the 4th, I also had a negative FRER on Sunday so I thought I was truly out of it and waiting for AF. I've also had plenty of cramps so you may still get your BFP

peachesarenom · 03/10/2017 18:37

Aph413 oh exciting!

What early symptoms have you had? I'm feeling a bit 'funny'!!! So I went out and bought some frer, I think I'm due on sun so I'm gonna try hard to wait till then!

Aph413 · 03/10/2017 18:52

No symptoms apart from my sense of smell going haywire, and my balance being all over the place. But I didn't think anything of it. Doubting the test at the moment but that's just my nature, I think if all goes well it'll take a scan to convince me this is real.

peachesarenom · 03/10/2017 20:48

It's very exciting though isn't it!

karategirl · 03/10/2017 22:25

Hello ladies. I've been AWOL for a little while because I was so blue after my period came early, but back to normal again now. Rather more chilled this cycle than I have been before, but I daresay I'll be a crazy person again before too long!

I'm working ridiculous hours at the moment, and just exhausted all the time, and that's before you factor in all the shagging! Currently dying to go to sleep, but staying up until my husb finishes work, as I know I'll get stroppy if he wakes me up when he gets back...

@Aph413 that looks incredibly exciting! Let us know how you get on with your digital.

BFN today! Might be too early but also makes me acknowledge I might not be preggo

PumpkinPatch000 · 04/10/2017 07:48

Hello!

Can I join? I'm 9DPO today and on cycle 1... planning to hold off from testing until Sunday.

Aph413 · 04/10/2017 11:23

Today would be a BFN. Really confused about the positive yesterday and quite disappointed. Honestly wondering if it's the batch of tests, if I still don't have my period next week I'll test again.
Only took the test yesterday because I was going to start taking evening primrose oil and wanted to double check

Foreverretro · 04/10/2017 12:49

I'm joining in with the BFNs today - feeling stupidly low about it all but such is life!

@Aph413 oh no! That's really weird! I hope that you get some clarification soon :-/ - this month being the first has been such a long month for me so I imagine it has for you too! If it makes any difference I think you can take evening primrose while pregnant though? My mum took it while she was pregnant with me & my brothers, I've been taking it alongside my pregnacare stuff this month as I used to take it pre coil.

Good luck @PumpkinPatch000 I hope you manage to wait & that you get your BFP!

@peachesarenom the tests do keep you grounded at least, I suppose!! I said to my friend this morning I'd be planning the nursery and all sorts without them haha!!

Aph413 · 04/10/2017 17:46

foreverretro I was told to avoid it after ovulation as it can cause the uterus to contract. Started taking it today anyway to see if it encourages ovulation.
Also feeling really low about the negative test today. I wasn't expecting a positive yesterday so it took me by surprise and I doubted it but actually seeing it as negative today has really got me down.
