So, onto cycle number 2! Anyone else quite new to this game?

We started trying properly last month, and inevitably my husband was away during the key few days! Unsurprisingly, my period arrived bang on time so now we're onto cycle number 2.

I'm being very impatient about conceiving and it seems to have been forever already (I know, I'm being a crazy person!) but I think part of that is having taken pregnacare since April, even though we were still using contraception then. I guess I'm just not very good at not being in control... I've had to seriously educate my husband too - he seemed to be convinced that we could get pregnant at any time of the month, and that it would inevitably happen immediately! He didn't realise that it often takes months even for healthy couples.

It's such a mixed bag... I have two friends who tired ages for DC1 and they are now both trying for DC2 and finding it just as hard. However my friend friend fell pregnant 4 times straight away.... She was honestly pregnant for about 4 years none stop. My sister caught straight away as well. Fingers crossed for you. Yeah 7 months is terrible... They think my sister in law may have Endometriosis. They have done bloods through the the GP but to been seen in the hospital for tests it's 7 months waiting list.

Beckypea · 03/09/2017 12:58

@Stee1 we also didn't really TRY this cycle. Trying to keep cool not to freak DP out as it was the first month without any protection. But I have told him that this next cycle I want to make sure we do it right.

Stee1 · 03/09/2017 13:04

Yes same here lol. Fingers crossed for a BFP in October for us. X

DragonsandDungeons · 03/09/2017 13:14

My DP doesn't like trying. He's said he's fine with me trying but to not tell him when ovulation is or anything because he feels pressured. He knows I use OPK, and cycle tracking, he just likes to forget about it

Beckypea · 03/09/2017 13:39

Yeah think that's the best way. I told him it's towards the end of the month but that's all he knows. Yup fingers crossed guys.

DragonsandDungeons · 03/09/2017 13:54

Mine has no idea when it is. I'm sure it's today judging by my OPKs but I'm certainly not saying that!

We had a funny conversation when he saw ff on my phone. He thought it was a calendar.

Mr Dungeon: What's that? A calendar?
Me: don't touch it.
Mr Dungeon: why?
Me: just don't. You don't want to know.
Mr Dungeon: no I do! Tell me!
Me: No. You don't want to
Mr Dungeon: TELL MEEEE!
Me: GODDAMNIT ITS A FERTILITY APP.
Mr Dungeon: ...oh hides and runs away

Armygirl · 03/09/2017 13:55

Hi can I join? I stopped my mini pill 24th July and stupidly thought I would have a bleed after a few days! Nope! 6 weeks later and still no period! 😔 PT are negative! DP and I live apart as he's in the army so I have a feeling it's going to be pretty difficult ttc! Just wish my period would hurry up so I can start again. Cycle was always 28 days before the pill and I conceived 3 dc first few months!

DragonsandDungeons · 03/09/2017 13:56

Hi Armygirl :) welcome!

Beckypea · 03/09/2017 14:03

Haha @DragonsandDungeons that's make me smile... That is exactly was Mr Pea would be like. He doesn't know I have apps. I think it may be a bad idea telling him it was the end of the month as I think he will be panicking but as it moves earlier with the months I won't tell him lol.

Hi Armygirl. Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon.

Stee1 · 03/09/2017 14:49

She's on her way just started spotting only when I wipe more brown atm x

karategirl · 03/09/2017 16:18

Haha, @Dragons you made me laugh. Strangely, Mr Karate is completely the opposite - wants to know exactly when we're more likely to conceive, but also suggesting that we should make sure to do it all the time 'just in case'. I think he's just thrilled that I've finally got my sex drive back now I'm off of contraception! Grin

Sorry to hear it's taking a while to get back to normal Armygirl. Fingers crossed it's not too much longer for you.

Stee1 hopefully the next cycle will be yours! Lots of baby wishes for everyone here!

Uggh... Woke up this morning and room was spinning.... And i Mean spinning!! I ran to the toilet and threw up... Things slowed down so got up again... Nope spinning started again, didn't have time to reach the loo so had to throw up in the sink. Went to work but soon got sent home... I couldn't keep my eyes open and felt so sick. Went to the doctor and have anti dizzy... Sickness tablets. Will not get my hopes up that it means anything and it is just a bad case of virtago... That I have never had before. AF is due thursday.

karategirl · 05/09/2017 22:35

How are you doing today @Beckypea? Hope you're feeling OK.

My colleague brought her 7 week old into the office today. I had a great cuddle for the majority of lunchtime (with her son, not her!). Oh, be still, my beating ovaries...

KEG973 · 05/09/2017 23:35

@beckypea are you ok??

Armygirl · 06/09/2017 07:42

Still no period here! 🙋🏽 Been 37 days since I stopped my pill and just wish my period would hurry up and start so I can know when I'm ovulating! Getting little cramps so I'm hoping it's on it's way. Fingers crossed!!

Stee1 · 06/09/2017 17:41

How is everyone? Period over with so not long till fertile days 👌

meow1989 · 06/09/2017 18:40

Can I join! Just entering. My 2ww on my second cycle. Had crazy 42 day cycle last month (normally 29-32) but net tests so hoping this month I'm late for a different reason!

GreggsSausageRolls · 06/09/2017 21:10

Fingers crossed for you @Armygirl Smile

karategirl · 06/09/2017 21:13

Hi @meow1989 good to have you along. Are you temping or doing OPKs, or holding off for the time being?

Today, I was told about loads of work stuff I need to do next week, including going to London. It looks like, having had Mr Karate away during my fertile window last month, I'll be away for most of it this month!

My boss asked if it's OK for me to go to the meetings. I replied "No it's bloody not I'll be ovulating" "Yes of course, it sounds like a great opportunity, I'd love to go!"

ARGH!

OP posts:
meow1989 · 06/09/2017 21:29

Not temping or using opks, mostly because I know what I'm like and am likely to become obsessed Blushjust paying attention to cm and seeing how it goes.

So annoying that life gets in the way of ttc (trips away etc) isn't it?!

Armygirl · 06/09/2017 21:35

Thanks greggs

My oh is planning to fly down to me for the wknd and there's me trying to subtly suggest he flys down when I'm ovulating 😳🙄 lol

lampert · 07/09/2017 08:23

Hi ladies, can I join you too?

We are on cycle 1 of TTC. I've been ready for a baby for years and now that we have decided the time is right I am suddenly obsessed and cannot wait, which is sure js not a helpful attitude!

I had been on the pill for 15 years (with one short break) though my cycle came back straight away which is lucky. It is varying in length by a day or two each month.

I've been using cheap OPks to try and understand my natural cycle and see whether I'm ovulating. I am struggling with the OPKs and not sure I've had an entirely positive reading but I think CD20 was as close as I've been to positive last month. I've just invested a small fortune in on some clearbkue advanced digital ones. Gulp!! Hopefully if I use those alongside the cheap ones I might learn to read the cheap ones accurately!!

CD18 for me today so hoping for that positive OPK in the next 48 hours. Bit worried that it happens so late in my cycle anyway :-/

Good luck to you all!

KEG973 · 07/09/2017 09:08

Hey stee1 yes i know finishing one period is rotten but as you said onto the next month with a bang- excuse the pun!!!!

Karategirl - let me know if u manager to get him there on your Ov day!! Cant wait
To hear how you might manage this.

Hi Lampert - welcome to the madness, i really hope you are quickly pregnant. When i came off the pill (august 14th) i had read conflicting info about how much more fertile you are when you come off the pill. I was so convinced I was pregnant (and I had only had by breakthrough bleed-no actual period) I dreamt up the symptoms and was so dissapointed when my perios came. It is on the way today, i can feel it, the looming mild cramps and i cried for two days this week (very PMSey!) my sister had her little boy 4 minths ago and she tried for 6 months, got pregnant and then had
A very early miscarriage. She tried again and said to herself "if i am not pregnant in 6 months time I will allow myself to be sad" that month she found out she was pregnant with her darling baby boy. My point it, temp and do the sticks for a short time but what i have found from ovulation testing (and the clearblue ones have cost me a small fortune!)) is that when i saw i had ovulated (both months) it has added to the dissapointment when my period has come as Ihave been thinking "why!? i did everything right!!!" Its good to know but at the same time enter with caution and enjoy the time you and your other half have together. As agonising as the waiting is it will happen. So-enjoy the ride :)

KEG973 · 08/09/2017 08:41

Im out for this month. AF arrived today Sad

Aph413 · 08/09/2017 10:28

I'm very new to this game. My coil came out on the 31st after the full 5 years with no periods. Trying to relax and enjoy it but I'm already using clear blue digital ovulation tests, those stupid faces keep on flashing but nothing solid yet.
I've got myself half convinced it's never going to happen for us even though we've just started.
Luckily in a way my husband is very ready for this I'm half surprised he hasn't downloaded his own fertility app Grin. I think I should be expecting my period around the 26th so we'll see how it goes this month
