I'm off the September Bus before it even leaves the station and thanks to my longer cycle I thought I'd start the October page.

Hi, tentatively boarding the bus for the first time. Came off the pill a fortnight ago but heaven only knows what my cycle is like?!

Age 39
Cycle 1

Hardheadedwoman39 · 14/09/2017 22:24

Thank you @felicityheather - are you TTC in October?

Hardheadedwoman39 · 15/09/2017 06:46

I just caught up on the thread @felicityheather sorry!

felicityheather · 15/09/2017 07:03

@Hardheadedwoman39 no worries :) x

Steaksauce · 15/09/2017 08:08

I'm sorry @Bubble04 I hope you're ok.

Welcome to the new people on this bus!

I'm getting pissed off. Been peeing on the internet cheapies since CD8, some days I've been getting a faint line (but still negative) other days it's been white (apart from the control line) so I bought some clear blue ones. Tested with that and a cheapie this morning - today is the day FF, Ovia and clue are all saying is O day - and the cheap one had a line but neg and the clear blue was a plain circle. I think I've missed the surge Sad stupid diluted urine from all the water I've been drinking!
We've been DTD every other day for a week now so we'll just have to carry on until I get a sign of Ovulation or AF turns up. (Shame! Grin)

Hardheadedwoman39 · 15/09/2017 08:23

Hi @Steaksauce

That sounds really frustrating - have you been using the ovulation sticks for long - am wondering whether to try them?

Steaksauce · 15/09/2017 08:56

@Hardheadedwoman39 hiya.

It's only my 2nd month using the cheapies. I bought about 50 from amazon. I mainly did it to see how accurate the apps are. My cycles are pretty regular but my CM hasn't always been obvious to me.
Last month I got my surge the day before the Apps predicted O day so I was quite chuffed.
Not this time it seems. But I've had a stressful month (work has been hectic and my mum had a heart attack) so it might have thrown things off a bit?
Though I keep panicking that it's my reproductive organs starting to shut up shop as I'm pretty old to be TTC #1!
They're worth a try to get a bit of an idea what your body is doing but can add to the stress I think.
My husband likes them though, he finds it all dead interesting!

Hardheadedwoman39 · 15/09/2017 09:00

@Steaksauce I'm so sorry to hear about your mum, that's a huge upheaval emotional and often physically.
If it's not a rude question (!) how old are you?

I'm interested in using the sticks but know I may become obsessed!

CherryVicky29 · 15/09/2017 09:20

Hi Ladies, joining in on the October Bus

Cycle:#2
TTC:#1
BFP: Due around 13th

Steaksauce · 15/09/2017 11:29

@Hardheadedwoman39 Thanks, she's ok thankfully it's just been a bit stressful!

I'm 37 (I'm still trying to figure out how that happened as I'm sure I was 25 the other day!)

I got totally obsessed with preg tests my first month, I haven't even confessed to DH how many clearblues and FRERs I bought Blush
I find the ovulation sticks help with that as I HAVE to pee on them daily but I can only do it for a certain part of the month because I know the rest of the time there's no point. It kind of gets the POAS urge out of my system by the time I get to the TWW haha.

Steaksauce · 15/09/2017 11:29

Welcome to the October bus @CherryVicky29 !

felicityheather · 15/09/2017 12:37

Stress can easily delay ovulation and that sounds very stressful! I hope things settle down soon for you @Steaksauce

Hardheadedwoman39 · 15/09/2017 18:25

Your post made me laugh @Steaksauce.... I still feel 32 and am genuinely surprised when I look in the mirror at how old I look.

Hi @CherryVicky29 😊

I think I'm already imagining ovulation signs only 8 days after stopping BC...I 'be had sharp pain today on one side but it can't happen that soon can it?

HolyShmoly · 15/09/2017 20:14

Welcome everyone.
I'm just about to start my fertile week according to the apps, although I had CM earlier this week so I'm not sure if I actually ovulated early. I'm sure DH won't complain about giving me a birthday shag tomorrow!

I don't think I mentioned, I went for reflexology during the week in the hope of helping my circulation. She reckoned that she did stuff to stimulate around my ovaries, so we'll see if that did anything. Unsurprisingly she also suggested a course of 4, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that money at this stage. Fingers crossed I won't need to. Although it was so relaxing I fell asleep!

Aph413 · 15/09/2017 21:06

HolyShmoly according to my sister (great source I know) you could also just get your DH to rub your feet in the same spots. Never had real reflexology but any kind of massage sends me to sleep. Good luck in this window!

HolyShmoly · 15/09/2017 21:19

DH knows I really dislike feet and sometimes pulls my toes to freak me out. Unfortunately it doesn't have anywhere near the same effect!!

OP posts:
Aph413 · 15/09/2017 21:44

If only it did! According to my app I should be ovulating today but still haven't had my surge on my opks so I'm assuming I'm in my window around now

pixielove123 · 16/09/2017 05:55

@HolyShmoly I also had Reflex this week. Was really relaxing. The lady I went to also works on your meridians so did a hormonal balance as well. Interesting that she told me I'm quite acidic which I've heard isn't good for keeping the swimmers alive so I'm trying to alkaline my body more. She also suggested 4 treatments but gives you a discount for more than one session. So I've booked for the next two weeks. Told DP that this baby is costing a fortune even before it's here

@Hardheadedwoman39 snap. Also trying for Baby #3. Also 39. Also about 11 years ago that I was Preggie. DD 10 - turning 11 in Jan and DS turned 13 yesterday

Mummyloves09 · 16/09/2017 06:35

Hello ladies

I've been off the implant for four years however we have been using pull out meathod over this time frame ( i get some don't believe in this method but it worked for us). I've been trying to conceive since the beginning September. This week just gone was my ovulation window and my next period is due 29th September. I use an app to track my periods and fertility window and is extremely accurate.
Can I join the October bus as I'm pretty sure we missed the September bus?

Louise142 · 16/09/2017 07:12

Hi all,

Please can I joinSmile

TTC #1
Cycle #1

I took my last pill on August 14th but still waiting for my first period. Starting to stress a little and wonder if my cycle will ever go back to normal! Is anyone else still waiting for their cycle to return after stopping the pill?

CherryVicky29 · 16/09/2017 07:58

Hoping one of you ladies might be able to help as I'm very confused.

Finished pill around 3rd week in august to my surprise I ovulated 2 weeks later with no withdrawal bleed in between. Af or what I thought was Af arrived right on time yesterday very very light and today there's nothing. No bleeding.

I'm so confused, I haven't had a proper period in the 10yrs of mini pill but still expected more 🤔

Hardheadedwoman39 · 16/09/2017 08:29

Hi @pixielove123

That is a. If coincidence! My DS is 12 and my DD is 10!

It so strange to be doing again (hopefully) 11 years later....

I'm also in cycle #1

HolyShmoly · 16/09/2017 09:40

Welcome everyone!
I'm afraid I can't help with the pill question as I had the implant but I have read that it can take a couple months for your body to get back in the rhythm. I'd keep BDing anyway and check for other signs of fertility like CM.
@pixielove123 I'd never heard of meridians outside of navigation so that's interesting. My one did suggest a full body massage if this month isn't successful so I think I'll do that anyway. It sounds like the perfect pick-me-up.

Hi again,
DH is giving me whiplash with all his indecision, but it looks like I'm tentatively back on the bus. Apparently the 'I don't think I want another baby because I want to play golf' thing was stress and cold feet. He assures me that feet are now warm and cosy, but may take things slow on the ttc front just in case... having said that my OPK was positive yesterday... x
