Thread 31, TTC1 | Jam and her dodgers still riding the bonking bus for that elusive BFP

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has well and truly worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Sorry for AF winging!

Trying not to get cross as it's just one of those things but DH has fucking thrush. ( Excuse my language). It's my bastard fertility week and DH is out of action. I feel the whole universe is against us TTC. I'm not annoyed just am tad pissed off.

Loving the Friday positives Jam!

I'm stealing my first one from you:

  1. It's September! Yay for Autumn, and it's also my birthday this month!
  2. I've got a weekend at home.
  3. I bought an autumn wreath to hang on the front door (dried chillies, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks, it smells so good!)
  4. I discovered True Detective on SkyGo last night and it's amazing, so going to watch lots of that this weekend while ironing!
  5. I'm 3/4 dpo and I'm free of spotting despite not taking any pills. I also ovulated on CD13, so hopefully little eggo was nice and mature!
Jamon · 01/09/2017 10:26

florafoxtrot · 01/09/2017 13:19

Happy Friday ladies,

Flashinthepan · 01/09/2017 14:18

Thanks guys! I will post a photo of it on the door when I get it on there.

Question: can anyone else on the thread not drive (I can't but am trying) and is worried about this should they still not be able to drive when they have a baby?

Loving everyone's positives today! Hugs for anyone lurking and not feeling positive.

florafoxtrot · 01/09/2017 14:35

Flash there is a thread on the Conception board whereby a girl is questioning whether you can get pregnant by pre-cum because she had sex with two different guys over 3 days and is now pregnant... I think you are all good!!

Good luck with the lessons though - in seriousness it probably would make things easier.

And yes, I'm a judgmental witch.

Flashinthepan · 01/09/2017 16:01

Hahaha! So I think what you're saying is things could be worse.....Wink

Thank you. I did learn and took a test as a teenager but failed, went to uni and got scared! I feel more compelled this time as I want to move to a different town and would need to drive to commute to work.

HepKestrel · 01/09/2017 16:09

sorry, dropped out again.

what did i miss?

Hope all you lovely ladies are well.

Flashinthepan · 01/09/2017 16:27

Hep!

Well we've all decided not to have babies, as thanks to Skipper we're all going to have little panda babies instead. But it will involve a group trip to China... Grin

(I'm not mad, go back a couple of pages and laugh yourself silly!)

Hope you're keeping well.

sk1pper · 01/09/2017 17:11

Jam - so I'm not sure if it was spotting or what but it was 6 days early. Was dark but not sure if blood or just discoloured CM but seems to have stopped today so perhaps a false alarm.

Flash - so I can drive but I have a phobia of it. I must be he only person in the world to be scared of driving - it's embarrasses me. I get jelly legs and panic attacks, and in random situations too (not always in the ones you'd expect). I know that when I have a baby, I'll need to be able to so I'm trying to do it more but it's hard :( Good luck with your lessons xx

Friday positivity:

  1. its curry night yum yum
  2. am planning on a weekend of video games
  3. feel quite relaxed about TTC again even though AF is imminent
sk1pper · 01/09/2017 18:38

Hey Hep - how are you?

QuietTime · 01/09/2017 19:53

skip skip skip me too!! I've had my licence nearly 10 years I think, but combination of lack of practice and tendency towards feeling like everything is going to go wrong means I'm super-anxious. I think it gets better when I drive for longer (we share driving when hiring cars for hols, and have driven abroad, etc) but then I stop and panic again. So flash, yes do worry about it (esp. driving by myself) though can in theory drive Smile

QuietTime · 01/09/2017 19:55

P.s. love the wreath, positivity and hi hep!

sk1pper · 01/09/2017 20:20

Quiet - oh! I haven't met anyone else who feels the same about driving, I'm sad it's true for you too but thank you for sharing. We have a very similar situation, I stopped driving after I passed my test at 16 and only started again when DH and I got a car 3 years ago. Because he uses it for his work commute, I rarely get to drive the thing and when I do it's as described. It doesn't help he's a nervous passenger! I can't believe you've driven abroad...the thought makes me feel dizzy.

I don't mind to buzzkill the Friday positivity but it feels like my hormone levels have adjusted of late - I just seem to be getting break out after break out of spots/pimples. They are always on the back of my thighs or around my nose and I'm sick to death of finding them. I have to force myself not to squeeze them because they are not the type to do that with. They scar terribly. I feel like a teenager again 😓.

HepKestrel · 01/09/2017 22:28

Pandas???

I'm okay. Been completely distracted with work and holidays. Another cycle messed up with stress though.

Babipotjam · 02/09/2017 07:26

Hi Hep, hope you had a good holiday .

Yeah Sk1p had an odd dream about a baby panda now everyone wants a panda' 🐼

I too have issues with driving I get awfully nervous and will it drive in the motorway. Not because of motorway but because of getting on and off st slip road. I just sometimes get feelings like I shouldn't get in the car. ( I know I sound crackers )

Anyways Happy Saturday everyone.

Pyjamas81 · 02/09/2017 07:57

Happy Saturday everyone!

Hi 👋🏼 hep - good to see you again 😊

I feel the same way about driving skip - I've never driven in the UK, but I did have a US driving license when I lived there for a few years and I only got that because I had to due to crap public transport! DH keeps bugging me to get license here but I dread it. Roads are too damn small, I can barely fit my left bum cheek in the parking spaces here let alone a whole car, roundabouts feel like death traps, many road signs look like hieroglyphics and I've never parallel parked in my life. But I know having a baby will mean I'll have to get my head around it! I refuse to drive anything other than an automatic though. Stop and go, that's all I need.

Bit stressful yesterday at 7dp2dt (9dpo in non IVF land) - TMI, but noticed some v light brown CM on liner, normally the progesterone pessary discharge is pure white (lovely, I know) so I freaked a bit. Called the clinic and they told me to increase progesterone injections to every day (deep joy) until no discharge for 48hrs (it's disappeared for now). Was due an injection last night anyway which I did myself as DH is away until tonight. Will be glad when he's back to take over! The 'implantation bleeding' thought did occur to me given the timing, but desperately trying not to get my hopes up. Going to see if I can get a reflexology appointment today to try and chill the fuck out!

sk1pper · 02/09/2017 08:56

Pyjamas - DH has promised me he'll look at an automatic car next time, the main issues I have are with gear changes and I think he wants me to feel as comfortable as possible. Also what does 7dp2dt stand for? It's awesome the clinic are on hand to phone up whenever you need, I often wonder what the NHS would be like for this kind of support. I've got my fingers crossed for you, as always. Xx

Babi - oh god, I didn't realise it was catching! 🐼 hopefully not as messed up as my dream. I'm hoping that in a weird way this is a premonition about us getting a mass collections of BFPs soon.

I'm 7-11dpo today, period either due tomorrow or Wednesday. I have significant ovulation pain on two separate days so I can't be sure. Though I have got incredibly sore boobs this morning, to the point where even if my side arm brushes them it's agony (my boobs are tiny). I can't understand why my symptoms always vary, I used to get sore boobs as standard but haven't for the last 6 cycles. Bodies are strange things.

Pyjamas81 · 02/09/2017 09:16

Ah thanks skip 😊 7dp2dt stands for 7 days past 2 day transfer so in normal TTC I'd be at 9dpo as egg collection day is like ovulation day. Amazing what we learn on this road! And an automatic will make a huge difference for you I think - they're so easy. DH says I'm missing out on 'the joy' and 'the point' of driving - er, no I'm not, the joy and point of driving for me is getting from A to B as quickly and easily as possible. On, off, stop, go, forwards, backwards - that's all I'm interested in. He despairs 😂

I hear you on the symptoms - why can't they just stay the same each damn month? I had sore boobs during last IVF cycle which I put down to the progesterone - but absolutely nothing this cycle and that's with a shit load more progesterone than last time!

Jamon · 02/09/2017 10:18

Skipper I've got a tiny bit of hope up for you. That may well have been an implantation bleed the other day. Everything so tightly crossed for you 🤞🏼

OP posts:
Jamon · 02/09/2017 10:20

Fx for you pyjamas. Sorry if tmi but do you use liners so you can easily see brown or red discharge? Wondering if I should try this when doing IVF

OP posts:
Pyjamas81 · 02/09/2017 10:40

Nothing is tmi here jam! Using liners is a MUST with the progesterone pessaries, that stuff gets everywhere - so grim! But yes, the white liners do make it easier to tell whether red or brown and it was clearly a very light brown yesterday.

Just had the loveliest call with nurse at clinic about the injections - she put my mind at rest on a few things. There's no danger of taking too much progesterone so increasing the dose doesn't have any risks, the bleeding after injection is normal as probably just hit a capillary and the fluid which sometimes leaks out after the injection is not the medication but fluid we all have under our skin which sometimes leaks. The progesterone is being delivered directly into the muscle with a needle that size so no danger of it coming back out! Feel much better now 😊
