Come one, come all, new and old, no-one wants to be here, but at least we're glad we've got each other :) Flowers

Hope your stay here is short.

Now, some BFPs if you please and BFNs for those who are waiting for them too!

Double, AC does affect your cycle considerably, I know a woman who was bf and after 2.5 years still hadn't had a period so took it and got pregnant relatively quickly as it kick started everything. So it could be that? My cycle has changed a bit since being on ubiquinol and eve primrose.

SJ88 · 10/08/2017 14:32

Hi not been on in a while - can't believe so much has happened in the last few days. Congrats to everyone with bfps & @Smurf123 for positive scan. @emvy congrats with bfps, have you thought about maybe contacting epu too see what they say? I bled a little after dtd in my first trimester when I was pregnant and all turned out fine... well until my daughter passed during labour but that was totally unrelated.
Had a crappy couple of days here, headstone went up and although I was glad to see it go up it was almost a bit too final really :(
I'm not sure who said about seeing pregnant friends, I'm exactly the same - I am happy for them but also jealous and I think we have to be kind to ourselves and if that means distancing ourselves for a little while we'll then that's ok too.
7dpo here- been getting my usual PMT symptoms so not holding out much hope but @TheGrumpySquirrel I couldn't stop myself either and used a FRER this morning and it was stark white, I'm guessing I'm probably out this month too but secretly hoping it's just too early for bfp yet. I'm away this weekend with my parents so won't be any testing because we haven't told anyone we are trying so will have to wait til Monday when I'm due AF.... not easy when you have a serious poas addiction lol x

gingerbreadmam · 10/08/2017 14:35

tentatively hopping on.

History :
1 x mmc 9 weeks 2014
1 x stillbirth 27 weeks ds had pffd in a severe form. no cause of death 2015
1 x mmc 14+2 triploidy 2017

It was only yesterday i looked into vitamin b12 and im now wondering whether to start that and vitamin b3 for next pregnancy?

i need to loose weight as high bmi but fell pregnant pretty much straight away with the above so i'm kind of preparing for a surprise as happened the last time.

Good luck to everyone on here, i know how draining the highs and lows can be.

SJ88 · 10/08/2017 15:07

Welcome @gingerbreadmam I remember reading some of your posts after my daughter was still born. So sorry for all of your losses Flowers.
Sorry no advice on the vitamin side of things but the girls here are great and I'm sure someone will have some advice soon lol.
I too have a higher BMI than I would like (sitting around 26/27 at the minute) but haven't had much luck losing any weight recently Confused hoping when I go back to work later this month it will help me get back into a bit of a routine and I won't be picking all day long lol.
Are you starting ttc this month? X

gingerbreadmam · 10/08/2017 15:16

Thanks @sj. yes we all seem to bump into each other on these threads. At least we are in good company.

Are you returning to work following the birth of your stillborn?i hope it goes ok i remember how daunting it can seem.

we're not actively trying. i'm using ovia to avoid at the minute but obviously if something happens then great.

I wish my BMI was that. I try not to get too hung up on it see lots of people much bigger than me with newborns so it does happen but it's something that i point my finger at now and again.

How long have you been ttc for?

Lime19 · 10/08/2017 15:28

So I had my scan. It's not great. It's being treated as a pregnancy of unknown location right now. No sac seen but I'm sure I'm less than 5 weeks. There are some other worrying things. Waiting to ask dr questions now.

gingerbreadmam · 10/08/2017 15:38

oh lime how awful. I hope you have someone there with you.

5 weeks is very early and if you are even less than that there could still be hope.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/08/2017 15:44

Oh Lime, I'm so sorry. Have they confirmed it's a new pregnancy? It seems so obvious to us all that it must be but I know they were being very noncommittal which must have been so distressing.

You poor poor thing, it's gutting. Sending you a hug xx

emvy · 10/08/2017 15:47

SJ, take care of yourself. It must be an incredibly difficult thing to have to experience. Take some time to process. Thinking of you x

I don't think the EPU will be interested in the spotting, especially as I think I'm only about 5 weeks so they wouldn't scan. My symptoms are still going mad so focusing on that. It's reassuring to hear that you experienced the same but it wasn't a problem.

Welcome Gingerbread, I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope you find this thread a comfort.

Lime, I'm so so sorry your scan didn't provide you with better news. Fingers crossed it is still just too early to see anything. Keep us updated.

That article was an interesting read! I'm now convinced I'm deficient and even though Pregnacare does have some vitamin b3 in it, it's only a tiny amount and clearly not enough. Anyone else in a panic? 😂

Ek, you were saying you can get it from Holland and Barratt? Reckon you can double up that and Pregnacare?

In other news, I contacted a miscarriage charity for some counselling yesterday. I had planned to do it after my last bfp but that didn't stick around for long enough so thought I'd do now quickly. Turns out you get fast tracked when you're pregnant so I have an appointment for before the end of august. Feeling a little nervous but relieved to be able to panic at someone who isn't my OH and have some strategies for dealing with anxiety.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/08/2017 15:50

Welcome gingerbread, I'm so sorry for your losses Flowers

Nice to see you SJ, sorry about your BFN. Hope things look up for you very soon.

I don't OPK grumpy, have always been sure of ov from ewcm and stabbing pains on the day but maybe I was wrong and we dtd like rabbits for days on end only to take a break for a day or two once it was over! Feel a bit stupid tbh...

I'm sort of intrigued to see what happens this cycle. I've honestly never had a 30 day cycle in my life.

bertie, bit random, but in the book she says do 10 kegels before going for a wee and check your CM (before you wee!). Seems to work. Also someone on here was saying you can tell the difference between leftover sperm and cm by how it absorbs into paper or not.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/08/2017 15:52

That's a really positive step emvy, well done. I'm glad these services are available and you have support to lean on. Will you go on your own and is there capacity for a joint session with DP if you'd like to? Might be good to find strategies to support each other as this pregnancy progresses.

Lime19 · 10/08/2017 16:18

So more info. My hormone 48 hours ago was at 919. Now they double every 48 hours so it should be pushing 2000. Just had bloods done get results tomorrow

You can see a sac at 1500.

Here are my options:

  1. it's an ectopic in which case hormone will remain the same level

  2. I'm in the 10 percent of people that hormone doesn't double every 48 hours

  3. by some fluke all turns out ok (looks v unlikely at this stage)

  4. it's a miscarriage (my hormone will drop)

SJ88 · 10/08/2017 16:34

@lime so sorry it's not the news you hoped for, il be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for some better news in the next couple of days.
@gingerbreadmam yep returning to work after my DD was still born in February - feeling very nervous about it but I'm a teacher so makes sense to go back and start with a new class of children etc plus I don't think being at home all day while DH is at work is really helping at the minute anyway. This is my 1st month ttc because had a csection with DD
@emvy thanks, I think some bleeding around the 5-6week stage can be normal - I remember freaking out, the nurse at epu said it can be implantation bleeding or dtd can irritate the cervix slightly in early pregnancy because it's more sensitive than normal. If bleeding has stopped now that's a great sign, would your gp book you in for early reassurance scan at 6 weeks?
Glad you are getting some counselling - I found it helpful just to have a safe space to go and talk where no one knows you.
@AnneLovesGilbert thanks hoping it's just early bfn (but not focussing on it too much took me 5 months the last time so I doubt il catch first month) I get pains around ovulation too bit the opks say I usually ovulate day after so might be worth a try using them for a month to see if it matches with your cm and ovulation pains? Xx

LisaSimpsonsbff · 10/08/2017 16:35

I'm so sorry, lime - desperately hoping that all turns out ok for you, but you must be going through a horrible and worrying time Flowers. I hope time passes as fast as it possibly can before you get better answers and more information tomorrow.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 10/08/2017 16:39

I have not been my best self today - got in a squabble with another MNer Blush! To be honest I don't think this holiday is the best thing for me - we're away with the in-laws and they're lovely but it's a lot of 'down time' and I don't think dwelling time is a good idea.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 10/08/2017 16:41

Really pleased to hear that you're having the counselling, emvy - I'm getting some through work, which should start in a few weeks. I have pre-existing issues around anxiety and depression, and so have just been finding things a bit overwhelming in last few months.

Quick post, I did some searching about b3. (The nicotinacid -sp? And niacin are the same thing doh!)

Berocca has 45.3mg ne (283 rda)

Pregnacare 20mg ne (125 rda)

50-100mg + can cause flushing side effects. Max supplement available boots say is 250mg.

H and b do a 100mg supplement, I found a 50mg one on Amazon. Quite a few reviews report side effects.

It seems relatively easy to get extra b3 from your diet through tuna, turkey, peanuts (e.g. peanut butter), ironically coffee! I guess you could take berocca and add in a little extra folic acid and iron. (Sainsbury's is much cheaper and no aspartame.)

I'm so sorry for your news lime, thinking of you Flowers

emvy · 10/08/2017 18:37

Lime, I have everything crossed that your levels will be where expected tomorrow. Be easy on yourself this evening.

Lisa, I do find that sitting around and doing nothing makes things worse most of the time. I'll let you know how the counselling goes - hope yours comes through soon.

Ek, thanks so much for that research! I really don't like borrocca but eat a lot of peanut better (probably every other day)... I might look into getting some supplements from Sainsbury's.

yellowfrontdoor · 10/08/2017 19:05

Lime I'll be keeping it all crossed for you. Flowers

Lisa dwelling definitely makes me feel worse! And as much as I love my in laws, a holiday with them would make me cop the needle as well!

summerfruitsquash · 10/08/2017 19:59

Just caught up on 2 weeks of posts and am crying at some of the stories (stupid af due tomorrow). Lack of sleep from a teething toddler and trying to always be positive when I just want to curl into a ball and cry almost caused a complete breakdown at the weekend. Thankfully my family stepped in to give me and DP a boozy night off in a hotel so I'm back to normal-ish and allowing myself to be sad for a while.

Anyway, so so happy to come back here and see some bfps and hear positive scan news. It really is different to hear bfps from people who are open about their difficulties. I think that's why baby bombs are hard to hear sometimes, we aren't open enough about miscarriage or fertility issues. An old friend announced this week she is expecting twins through ivf and I couldn't be happier for her. I had no idea they were trying, much less about any struggles to conceive.

Flowers to everyone who has found themselves here. And for those returning. Especially SJ and gingerbread. I had a late loss but can't imagine the heartbreak of stillbirth. To get so close to meeting your baby and have it all ripped away must be devastating.

lime I really hope there is some good news for you tomorrow. It's awful how the joy of a bfp can turn so quickly into sadness.

Lime19 · 10/08/2017 20:02

I just remembered they said my progesterone was very high (65) does anyone know what that means? It sounds like things are not normal... I just want to be normal

StepAwayFromGoogle · 10/08/2017 20:51

Lime, I think high progesterone levels are a good thing. I'm sure I've read that low progesterone is linked to miscarriage. A quick Google suggests it may be indicative of twins but plenty of women saying they had high levels and then only one baby. I know this is nigh on impossible but try to relax as much as you can. Massive hug and a hand hold x

Lime19 · 10/08/2017 20:57

Thanks. I feel doomed right now like all options are just fucking doomed.

Time is going slowly. Tomorrow 9 am the office opens.

I really don't even know when I ovulated I guess it may have been early.

All I know is I'm cd 30 now with a progesterone in the 60s and hcg over 900. Something is deffo not right.
