Hi all, thought I'd get the ball rolling on the new thread.

Welcome all with immune/natural killer cell issues.

It's been a while since a new thread so thought it might be helpful if we all added our stats:

I'm harriet, age 30, TTC#1.
3 mcs (2 at 5 weeks, 1 mmc at 9 weeks).
Hypothyroid and high NK cells.
Cycle 2 on pred!

Well still at the Steam fair, I have just been offered an appointment with the women's health unit in Swindon as well so things have recently kicked up a notch. My final bloods have come back and I am no longer Septic so that's good.
The complaint is being investigated at the original hospital and I see prof Q in September. Still waiting for Af so we can get to it. I am hoping that I can be preggers by Christmas like all of you will be too.
Out of interest how much is dr s a consultation

harrietm87 · 21/08/2017 14:28

That sounds like a good plan tee. Don't worry about stopping the pred and then getting a bfp a couple of days later - that happened to just and it's all been fine!

Excited for you and luna and poppy - you will be next on this lucky thread!

sheepy the price list is on his website but from memory about £275 for initial consultation and then you have to pay for all the tests which are about £2.5k (eeek!!!). You've probably had lots of them already so might not need to repeat them, but he did get me to repeat even the few that I'd had (e.g. Thyroid function) because he wanted the most up to date results. It's not cheap but I honestly believe this is the only way I'll ever have a successful pregnancy.

Fantastic news Harriet!! I genuinely think mr s is lovely and really feels as happy as we do when scans are good, and very sad when they're not. When I had mc 4 he called personally phoned me the following day to see how I was. He's just very matter of fact in the testing and consult phase.
You've reached a massive milestone, fingers crossed for the next. When is your next scan?

Good plan tee, fingers crossed for another happy bfp.** I also didn't take pred as instructed with this bfp - partly because I wasn't expecting to get preggers first attempt, therefore only had a limited amount of tablets. And I seem to have been lucky so far.

Initial consultation is £300 sheepy, then £200 after I think. £250 for scan and appointment. Looks like you're really being looked after now... finally!! I'm glad they've taken your complaint seriously.

Tee4me · 21/08/2017 18:15

That's really nice to hear Seeking, it must be a rollercoaster of a field to work in, with so many highs and lows, I suppose he has to have a game face to keep sane and professional. The nurses are lovely too aren't they? I think it's Lorna I've chatted to the most, really supportive and kind. She gave me so much info when I was getting bloods taken, felt like I could ask anything.
Luna I've just had a thought, are you planning to take the Pred when you first wake up @ 6am? I was instructed to take the stomach medication 30mins before food then Pred after brekkie. Or do you get up and eat super early? Or were you told something different altogether?

LunaB · 21/08/2017 18:38

🤔 Thanks Tee, I will need to check my paperwork for time between pills and food, but it sounds the same, omrezapol (or whatever it's called), then breakfast, then pred - but we are up at 6, so hopefully can take the pred at 6.30-ish... don't feel as manic about taking it as yest... convinced myself it's not to be this month (funny how fear creeps back so quicky 😱 - ah, hello old 'friend')

JustLa · 21/08/2017 18:46

Hi all, sorry I've been a bit quieter than normal, I'm on a family holiday and it's keeping me very busy!

Tee! Excited for your testing tomorrow, Harriet is right- I had a bfn at 9dpo and stopped pred until 14 dpo when I realised the old hooters were burning up! Lol Good luck xx

Luna, BF in full swing! Also crossing fingers for you too!!

Harriet!!!! Eeeeee what a lovely scan to have! Congrats on another big strong step. I hope you're feeling ok ❤️

Drttc, also amazing news!!! How lovely you are doing so well.

Lots of fab milestones in here. Sorry if I missed anyone out, lots to catch up on

Xx

JustLa · 21/08/2017 18:52

Oh and Harriet, I start dropping off pred weds. 1 tab less every 4 days... seems steep so I'm a little apprehensive but also happy to hopefully have 1 issue off the table! I'm 12+5 (NHS Measurements)!!! I probably could wean right now buuuut happy to wait a few days to make sure, as Mr S was measuring me a little behind NHS again last Monday. Freaking out as took some lactulose which worked great for uhm, pred-preg-bowels lol, but getting some pains today which could be growing, trapped wind (tmi lol) but obvs still thinking the worst. Exhausting!

Xxx

LunaB · 22/08/2017 07:08

Tee! 🤞🤞

LunaB · 22/08/2017 07:09

Just... How did you and DH take the gender news! ❤️

Tee4me · 22/08/2017 07:27

Nada for me on a FRER. Ah well, don't feel too bad about it in all honesty, hadn't got my hopes up too much. The only annoying thing is the timings for my September cycle; will be due AF the day of a wedding over in Ireland, so if on the off chance we're successful next month, I'll want to stay low key and do the infusion rather than flying (I'm quite a nervous flyer) so I'd be worried about the emotional and physical stress so early on. Brain working overtime. I think it helps me to distract from an unsuccessful cycle, planning for the next. Healthy eating and exercise on the agenda, plus my body will have had more time to sync with the Thyroxine, so there's a silver lining.
Hope others have had a better start to the day! x

harrietm87 · 22/08/2017 08:21

Oh tee do you think it's a definite bfn though? What dpo have got bfps in the past? And do you have any symptoms? It's still so early - maybe see how you feel over the next couple of days? You're right about the thyroxine silver lining though, and it's also great you haven't found the pred too bad.

Totally understand the planning for next cycle feeling. If AF is due during the wedding though it's still ok to get the intralipids once you're back. I got bfp (actually on the day of a wedding in Ireland!) on a Saturday and had my intralipids the following Thursday. If you want to avoid going anyway though it's a good excuse! Hope you're ok today.

LunaB · 22/08/2017 08:23

Oh I'm sorry Tee, but I hope you'll test over the next few days as well?

Annoying re wedding... but if you are preg just ditch everything and get your drip- nothing else matters... (I'm A terrible flyer too... and I travel a lot for work so totally get the idea that it's a lot of stress for a baby!)

I keep telling myself it can take a while to fall pregnant and not to stress... easier said than done

Keep testing tho ok xxxx

Tee4me · 22/08/2017 08:47

Thank you girls 😘
I've never tested early before while TTC, I've always waited to be a couple of days late, so this is new territory for me! I'm definitely accepting it as a 'no' for this month and won't be testing again unless something significant happens to get my hopes up. My 2 biggest symptoms with previous BFPs is hot skin and nose bleeds. I'm feeling really positive still, and although we've been trying since December 2015, it feels like month 1 because I'm on the treatment plan now. I've got a good feeling I'll fall by Christmas!
Annoyingly I can't get out of the Wedding. I'm doing a reading and going with 1 other friend. We won't know anyone else there and we already had dramas when it was looking like she wouldn't be able to make it at one point. They know my history with miscarriages but they would still view it as a poor excuse... unless Dr S specifically advised me not to fly! 🤔 I know she would never let me forget it if I missed her Wedding.

PoppyJ1 · 22/08/2017 10:31

Hi all,

Trying to catch up on everything now cos I've been away this weekend!

Super news on the latest scans Harriet and Drttc, congrats!

JustLa, stop worrying about the wind! What an amazing milestone for you, basically second trimester. Big congrats Hun.

Thanks all for the Christmas pregnancy aspiration! Definitely all over that one too. Will be trying next in late September when DP and I have a holiday together.

LunaB · 22/08/2017 11:40

🎄 👶🏼 for all xx

harrietm87 · 22/08/2017 12:38

Love it luna!

poppy the time will fly in, and holidays are perfect for baby making!

Wow just so exciting you're weaning off the pred. Keep us posted on how you're feeling.

Preggers people - have you had any cravings/aversions yet? I have become obsessed with oranges and orange juice - just can't get enough!

OP posts:
harrietm87 · 22/08/2017 12:39

Oh and I've totally gone off chocolate which is unheard of for me. I keep buying it out of habit and then not being able to eat/finish it! Def a good thing!

JustLa · 22/08/2017 13:59

Tee, me and Harriet don't trust early tests! Lol. It is worth testing again in a couple of days, just in case it was too early and you need to jump on the meds (if you can face it) I had my intralipids at 5 weeks and no probs with that :)

Poppy, I know- I'm so silly!!! And ty x
Awwww a Christmas bump is what I'm wishing for you and us all 😊❤️⭐️🙏🏻

Lun, the gender thing was crazy! I just started blubbing and hubby couldn't take it in. It's so so real now we know what it is!! Freaking me out a little as feel even more connected now.

Harriet that's funny, I was MAD for OJ, then it changed to apple juice. Sugary stuff like chocolate made me feel so nauseous as your stage but unfortunately that passed... salt cravings from 5-8 weeks, tuna and fish (have to really limit tuna) olives, crisps.
Right now, it's fresh tomato soup, omg, I can't get enough! Greggs do a mean and tasty one mmmm

xxx

LunaB · 22/08/2017 14:46

All I could eat was bread at your stage Harriet! But as with Just... it passed! 🐽

Just I can imagine!!! It is REAL... it's wonderful and your... girl (haha guessing) will be perfect 💓

Take4 · 22/08/2017 16:38

Hi all

Lovely reading about all the new / progressing pregnancies am so delighted for you all and hopeful for the rest of us.

I am not preggers this month....in fact my cycle is all over the place which is annoying. Trying to stay positive but it's always hard on the first day, I tend to need a couple of days and then I am back fighting fit and ready to try again. Next time I'll wait to take the pred....... Confused

Onwards and upwards!

PoppyJ1 · 22/08/2017 18:37

Tee, hope you're not too disappointed. I must say I have been outraged every time I have got a BFN since starting on the Pred, because prior to that I always got pregnant first hit.

Take4, sorry to hear the Pred is messing with you. It does settle down. I didn't ovulate the first two months on it but now then I started to. My doc has me on a low dose all the time so I don't have to worry about the timing of the O days.

LunaB · 22/08/2017 19:41

It's frustrating Girls; we just need to get pregnant and then sit back and let these drugs work their magic... 😩

Sheepy1980 · 22/08/2017 20:00

I agree Luna I am all frustrated again because Af has not shown yet and have cramps and thrush again. But know it is not possible due to D&C and although I ovulated and dtd the day before scan and then found I needed the d&c so who knows

Tee4me · 22/08/2017 20:11

Sorry for the uncertainty Take4 & Sheepy 😞 This whole palava is stressful enough without not knowing where you stand! How frustrating that the pred can affect ovulation! Poppy how did you know you didn't ovulate for those months? Did you just never get a peak opk/smiley face? I'm now considering temping again in case there's any uncertainty next month. How many months have you been on the plan now?
