Hi all, thought I'd get the ball rolling on the new thread.

Welcome all with immune/natural killer cell issues.

It's been a while since a new thread so thought it might be helpful if we all added our stats:

I'm harriet, age 30, TTC#1.
3 mcs (2 at 5 weeks, 1 mmc at 9 weeks).
Hypothyroid and high NK cells.
Cycle 2 on pred!

Seeking Fantastic news!!! You're well on your way to the second tri now!

Luna have fun hehe!!

Harriet I don't actually have a date as their machine couldn't measure the pregnancy as it was so small. At the time I was 5 weeks +4 by LMP, and the machine started measuring at 5+5. The woman said by eyeball she'd have guessed 5+2, but that's not a very scientific way of measuring pregnancy I'd say ;-). By LMP I'm 6 weeks + 1 today. I'm booked for a scan at a different place on Saturday and am quite nervous as to what will be seen. Also they do it via tummy ultrasound rather than vaginal so going to be very different.

It does bother me when people put such importance on gender as if a human life is just for their enjoyment. They have no idea how idiotic they sound to people like us.

LunaB · 16/08/2017 15:13

Their nanny's horse!!?? Jeeeez. No female is safe from this shit! 😝😱

Seekingmiracles · 16/08/2017 15:53

I actually preferred her to Mr S just. She was there for ages! Baby was wiggling away! She genuinely seemed as amazed by it as me, despite the fact she sees it everyday, which I thought was endearing.

Are they likely to see much via tummy this early on drttc. Most places don't do it via tummy until 6 weeks. Not sure if want to risk the worry myself. But I do hope you see baby and can get a date.

Poppy, your step kids sounds lovely. How sweet that they're excited for their family to grow. A lot of kids would feel grossed out at the idea! Lol!

Drttc · 16/08/2017 16:27

Seeking I only found out it was a tummy scan after booking it and was pretty shocked. It worries me and I'm wondering if I should just cancel and try going to the other place again (more expensive). Argh there's always something isn't there!!!

Poppy I agree that your step children sound so lovely!

Seekingmiracles · 16/08/2017 21:42

Didn't mean to write 6 weeks, but i think you twigged into that. Meant to write 10 weeks!
I dont think I'd want a tummy scan that early, unless they can offer internal if nothing is seen. The EPU where I used to live always tried tummy first but never saw anything, I'd then have to go wee before they'd do it internally. Always something to worry about!

Drttc · 17/08/2017 08:31

Seeking I've asked and they said they'll do internal if they think it's necessary. Wish they'd just bloody start with it. Oh well. I'll likely have a meltdown if they don't so hopefully they'd rather have a happy customer :-D

harrietm87 · 17/08/2017 08:51

drttc for my scan at the epu on Monday they started with tummy and could see just the sac and nothing else. I hadn't bothered to keep my bladder full as knew they'd have to do the internal one anyway. It's good they're able to do an internal scan - maybe you could just insist they start with it?

Thanks all for the sweet comments about my step kids! 😍

I think we have mounting evidence that scan machines differ. It's important to hear that in mind and not assume bad news if the scan doesn't show much or if dates don't match. For most scans I've had it's been abdominal in the first instance (even at less than six weeks) changing to internal if necessary. I see it as a chance to avoid the discomfort if possible!

Sheepy1980 · 17/08/2017 15:36

Well my appointment with Professor Quenby is the 15th September Grin now to try and get a shift swap with someone for that Friday.
I am trying to sort through the Ikea drawers in the living room as I am getting more organised.. just need to find proper homes for things

harrietm87 · 17/08/2017 15:56

It's funny isn't it poppy how you get
so used to the discomfort! I had an ovarian cyst when I was 18 and was so terrified at the prospect of the internal scan that my mum flew over from Ireland to be with me for it! (I was at uni at the time). Now I'm literally whipping my knickers off as soon as I see the wand! Agree with the others - stepchildren sound lovely. 4 between 8 and 11 - must have been mayhem when they were young! Is it 1 a year or are there twins?

tee how's the pred going? Do you feel any different?

PoppyJ1 · 17/08/2017 17:11

Ah, no, I just meant the girls. The eldest is a boy and he's already a teenager! He's lovely too, but doesn't get into the pregnancy conversations! But yes they were certainly busy for a while and had them fairly young. DP and I are both mid 30s.

Tee4me · 17/08/2017 20:18

No noticeable effects Harriet 😬💪🏻💪🏻
I'm on day 6, no moon in the mirror just yet 🌝🌝🌝

Stuckinstressville · 17/08/2017 20:30

Hello! Just burst into mega hormonal tears that you thought of me! FlowersLuna and others

Just read back and still am in awe at how positive and resilient you wonderful crew are. The pred is pretty bad on my health , starving, insomnia etc normal?

Am ok- another mega bleed last week and eating all the food - joy of pred! But had my bi weekly scan on tues and even though the bleed was big and tmi clotty - baby was in there! Looking like a baby alien but still happily kicking and bucking. Am 10 weeks tomorrow .... never made it past tomorrow with my mmc without knowing things had failed and waiting to mc, so am
A bundle of nerves.

Off to a wedding in wales tomorrow for the weekend! Will be good to be distracted!

Stuckinstressville · 17/08/2017 20:31

Snigger . Bonk fest! Bf!

LunaB · 17/08/2017 20:43

Hurrah stuck!!!! A-mazing news - what a horrible scare with the bleed but so wonderful another of our pups has made it through these little bleed dramas!!

Stay in touch, we are here for you - enjoy the wedding ❤️❤️

LunaB · 17/08/2017 20:45

And sorry the Pred is so shit!! Funny how it affects people differently!!

tee glad you are still feeling ok on it! Test in T-minus 5 days! 🙌 - us soon Poppy & Sheepy ✊️

Hope all the rest of you preggos are well!

RedPanda25 · 17/08/2017 20:55

Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me joining? I'm currently TTC again after a miscarriage in June when I was 7 weeks pregnant. I already have a DS who is 18 months old now. Since having him I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and my levels were good before conceiving, below 2.3. I'm so worried that my miscarriage was something to do with my thyroid. Sorry I'm late to the thread but have scrolled back a bit and wanted to say congratulations to those of you who are pregnant and sending luck to those TTC!

LunaB · 17/08/2017 21:13

Hi red! Never too late!! Welcome!!! Can't help with your particlaur issue, but I know some of the girls can!

I'm sorry you recently miscarried and hope that you find this group comforting and useful! 💪💋

PoppyJ1 · 17/08/2017 21:17

Welcome Panda, new very to have another newbie onboard! Love that this thread has so much exposure now on Mumsnet.

Stuck, what a relief but sorry to hear about the terrifying events in the run up to your scan.

Luna, exciting! Looking forward to an update! Still waiting for September window and DP sweetly pointed out last night that he acknowledges his job is badly timed for TTC and he hopes it's not bothering me too much. Feel like less of a fertility botherer now because I have kind of bullied the poor man at times 😳

JustLa · 17/08/2017 21:24

Stuck!! I'm so glad you're still ok, you must be a ball of nerves after the bleed and the pred and cyclo intensify that stuff, ugh. Are you getting them monthly? Some women continue to have monthly period style bleeds throughout pregnancy, would be good for you to know if you are set to have another 'harmless' bleed.
I agree with Luna, we are all in here supporting each other, if you need to 'wobble' at anyone, just let loose.
When is your next scan?

Poppy, it sounds like a cute set up you have there! It's lovely that you get on with their Mum and that you're already a parent in so many ways 😊 and I bet you're awesome at it!

Harriet, how are you feeling? Any effects from pred? Is your tummy big? Salt cravings? Any morning sickness? (mine started at about 7-8 weeks I think) I look about the size of a typical 5 month preggy woman now, the bloat is so uncomfortable and contributing factors include pred, Cyclogest, Heparin, constipation, weight gain and just being pregnant. I've put on about 8lb and hoping it's not unhealthy for the little one.

Tee, only a few days until testy time!

Drttc, not long until scan on Saturday! Will be nice for you to get a date. How have you been feeling?

Good news on Quenby appointment Sheepy

I'm going for another nuchal/dating scan with NHS tomorrow (I'm 11+ 3 today) Did too much strutting around today and had womby pains and strong cervical aches so obvs that's enough to send me into a tizzy!

Hope everyone else is ok :)

JustLa · 17/08/2017 21:29

Welcome Panda! Sorry you've had a loss but glad you found us here.
I'm afraid I don't know about your condition but are you taking anything for it?
It could just be a chromosomal MC, but I agree, worth looking into your condition to prevent any future problems

Xx

JustLa · 17/08/2017 21:36

Another thought RedPanda, you could call Mr S's practice in Epsom, Surrey. Many of us in here are on his treatment plans and it may be worth asking if he can treat your particular condition. He's not cheap but his success rate is pretty bloomin good

Sheepy1980 · 17/08/2017 21:53

I am already on Predisnolone am on a 20 mg Maintainance dose, and 300mg Asprin folic acid. I am hoping she accepts me onto the course. I am due Af next week so the charting will happen. I use ovia but if anyone has any suggestions let me know

LunaB · 17/08/2017 21:53

"Fertility Botherer" 😂😂😂

Bugger, Just.... but at least you have scan tomorrow to put your mind at ease. God you're so close to the magic 12 weeks! Feels so far away for so many of us!

I was very, very bloated and constipated and moonfaced at 12 weeks with DS and I hadn't taken any meds!! It will level out and there's nothing to worry about. We are extremely low risk in the lifestyle stakes - it's just so unlikely you would damage your baby with the type of preg pudge you get 🙃

Stuckinstressville · 17/08/2017 22:14

Hi red - am sorry for your loss.
I have hashimotos too- hence why I think my rmc shoved me on pred the moment I realised I was 7 weeks pregnant. I was advised though that my tsh ought to be sub 1 to ttc and to test frequently when pg. I am
Ever so
Slightly over medicated on levothyroxine to keep my tsh so low. What has your dr said?
