Hi all, thought I'd get the ball rolling on the new thread.

Welcome all with immune/natural killer cell issues.

It's been a while since a new thread so thought it might be helpful if we all added our stats:

I'm harriet, age 30, TTC#1.
3 mcs (2 at 5 weeks, 1 mmc at 9 weeks).
Hypothyroid and high NK cells.
Cycle 2 on pred!

Bit the bullet and took it. Gut instinct is I've already ovulated. Here we go!! 🌝🌝🌝

Tee4me · 12/08/2017 10:44

Gulp!! Should have waited for a reply 🤦🏼‍♀️ I like your reasoning!!

LunaB · 12/08/2017 11:07

So how does it work if I'm using the digital test? Take the pred the day of flashing face - even tho flashing face ovulation in up to 48-hours? Dr S just said 'take it on day 14' (as I have 27/28 day cycle).... but now Tee and Seeking are making me realise I have no idea what to do!?

JustLa · 12/08/2017 11:14

Thanks Seeking, kinda wish I had taken it too now to give this an even better chance!
The nausea def sounds like morning sickness. Hungry but sickly is how I feel when I'm nauseas (which has subsided a bit and obvs now I'm worrying lol)

Tee, we want everything to be perfect but it probably won't make much difference either way so don't worry. I stopped pred for 5 days in this pregnancy thinking I wasn't pregnant (9dpo onward) and of course 💩 myself but it didn't affect anything in the early days. Fingers crossed for a BFP!

Luna as far as I know, just take them from flashy face result (peak fertility) onward. There is a lot to think about lol

Hope it's going well Drttc

Xxx

Tee4me · 12/08/2017 11:27

Luna it sounds to me like Dr S suggests starting treatment on the day of ovulation (given that CD14 is considered average OD for most with a standard cycle). Do you have a sense of the day you actually ovulate? I used to take my temperature as well as do the opks, and I generally pinpointed CD13. This makes me feel better having kicked it all off today, as today would be the very latest I'd expect to ovulate.
Having said that I think Justla is absolutely spot on about how much difference it can really make. I hate how TTC makes me overthink everything!!! I feel stressed about getting it perfect this month because it's our first shot and I'm so eager to make it work so I don't have to stay on this plan (or the roids!!) for too long. I vow to CHILL!! Stress and worry will not change the outcome x

Drttc · 12/08/2017 12:16

Oh my god!!!

So I definitely ovulated a bit later as I suspected... They said the baby was probably about 5 weeks +2 days and their machine only starts measuring at 5+5...

But there was a heartbeat!!! They couldn't believe it and we were in shock too! They said to see a heartbeat that early is a very good sign. Going to be walking around in a haze all day now.

PoppyJ1 · 12/08/2017 12:26

Amazing news Drttc! Massive congrats to you. What a wonderful outcome xx

LunaB · 12/08/2017 12:38

Woooohooooo drttc 🎉🎉🎉🎉 amazing and wonderful! Enjoy the blissful feeling!

Just & Seeking, thanks guys... I will just take on day 14... I can pretty much feel myself ovulate and conceived all other times without taking any ovu tests... so will watch for flashy face, see if I feel like I'm popping out an egg and bosh the pill... if it was That devasting to take a day or two early/late then Dr S would have thought of a way to ensure its perfect, and charge us £1,000,000 for the privilege 😝😝

So a good day - another wee heartbeat joins the group ❤️❤️

Drttc · 12/08/2017 12:39

Thank you Poppy! I just can't get over it. I'll go straight back to worrying by the end of the day (can already feel the doubts creeping in), but for this moment I'm going to try to appreciate a positive scan.

Drttc · 12/08/2017 12:40

Thank you Luna :-)

LunaB · 12/08/2017 12:40

Ffs. Tee, not Seeking lol

Tee4me · 12/08/2017 12:43

Amazing Drttc!! So happy for you, hope you can relax a bit now x

JustLa · 12/08/2017 13:00

Yay Drttc! Am so happy for you 😊
Yes you'll probably be back to worrying soon so enjoy the feeling lol.
Will you continue to go natural- drug free?
Brilliant news with the HB too, strong little bean!
Xxx

Seekingmiracles · 12/08/2017 13:13

Wonderful news drttc!! And amazing that they could see a heart beat already!! Now hold tight and relax a little. Are you going to see Mr S?

Sheepy1980 · 13/08/2017 00:23

Yay DrTTC so pleased, well I have been resting and chugging down the Laxido as I am impacted. I feel really well and pain free which is brilliant as I have not felt great for 2 weeks.
Christening will be fine as I am going to pick up a new fur baby. He has no name as yet and I am feeling positive going to wait for AF to rock up to ttc again as pretty sure I ovulated Wednesday and not sure what will happen after d&c to cycle

Drttc · 13/08/2017 04:21

So now I know what it's like to wake up at 4am and puke in to the nearest container I could find (a vase from my SIL).... With DS I didn't throw up until like 8 weeks along and didn't feel right until nearly 20 weeks. I hope this doesn't mean I'm in for worse morning sickness this time :-(

Thanks seeking , Sheepy , Tee , and JustLa

Yes I'm going to go drug free on this one. Once again I know it seems crazy as I 100% believe I needed it to get me DS, but something just feels different now.

Sheepy so glad you've managed to rest and feel a bit better!

Drttc · 13/08/2017 07:00

And now I know what it's like to throw up in a puke bucket as I'm walking (to the loo)... Multitasking at it's best. I've been ill for hours and genuinely concerned this is going to turn in to a hospital situation eventually :-(

PoppyJ1 · 13/08/2017 09:24

Oh Drttc, how annoying that just as you got your reassurance about pregnancy viability you get immediately hit by a horrible symptom! Not wanting to scare you but have you read up on hyperemesis gravidarum? It oftens starts earlier than regular morning sickness and is pretty grim. Might be worth having on your radar?

What you said about needing the meds for your DS but prob not this one, that's interesting. I have a theory that the female body "learns" a lot of the pregnancy related stuff from one to the next. I'm sure mine now produces higher progesterone and a better endometrium since my first pregnancy, I can tell certain things have changed due to the impact on my cycles and even the recent blood test.

Sheepy, awwwwww, what a gorgeous bunny! So cute! Glad you're feeling better, you are doing so well.

JustLa · 13/08/2017 10:41

Cute wabbit Sheepy! Nice to hear you're feeling so much stronger 😊
When is your appointment with Prof. Quenby? Would be so nice to be on your new regime with her before you start ttc to give you some protection from going through this again.

Drttc, sorry you're feeling so sick :( If you were on prednisolone last time it may have been masking nausea but then again, you hear so many mums saying each pregnancy is different anyway! Hope you're just off colour and it eases off.

Poppy how are you? I know it's only been a few days but any news on your next hook up to try with DP?

I have a Nuchal with Mr S on Tues, then an NHS nucal on Friday (My fave NHS sonographer told me to take whatever I could get lol). It's so nerve wracking, if I can get through these with good results I'll feel like I'm closer to having a 'normal' chance of this pregnancy being a success (although it will always be high risk, ugh)

xxx

PoppyJ1 · 13/08/2017 11:07

Hey JustLa, it's definitely looking like late September, unless DP needs to come back for a meeting. I cant easily get a visa for where he is for the next few weeks. But I do feel like my cycles are getting more normal every month and my endo says they will continue to settle, so maybe by September I will be on better form!

Fingers crossed for the scan on Tuesday. For your age group the chances of something going wrong are less than 0.5% right? I know it's worrying though. Would you have the amnio if they recommended it?x

JustLa · 13/08/2017 11:26

September sounds good Poppy, and not to far away 😊
I think my chances are higher than that, I'm currently 38. The nuchal should give me an indication of my chances based on a few factors including the nuchal scan, age, health, family history etc (I think)
Then harmony will give me a 99% accurate reading as to whether there are any problems so hopefully will be no need for amnio/CVS 🤞🏻
There are leaflets on it in Mr S's office, it's quite interesting. The harmony is pricey and ofc the NHS only offer nuchal and CVS

Xxx

JustLa · 13/08/2017 11:26

Comforting for you to hear that about your cycles too!

Sheepy1980 · 13/08/2017 11:29

We have a plan, the surgeon was a fellow and has worked with Professor Quenby as my case was discussed as there were a few ways to manage it and I am now able to have Heparin from the moment I suspect that I am pregnant and I am on Predisnolone, Asprin and High dose folic acid. I think they are bending over backwards because of the errors that the other hospital have made.

Drttc · 13/08/2017 12:43

Sheepy in my sleep deprived haze I didn't notice your gorgeous bunny! Congratulations :-)

Thanks for the info Poppy Have thrown up 6 times since 4am and feel absolutely horrible. Can't keep anything down. Nightmare. I'm hoping this is actually a stomach bug and that it passes as quickly as it came.
