Thanks Ready - I know I have gotten myself caught up on the IVF theory because of my ovarian reserve test results and deep down I just kind of feel like that is the issue- a kind of gut instinct IYKWIM ? But I know that the test etc are a good start and I am really hoping it is something else that is easier to treat etc.
I do feel a bit more positive as I have found a private hospital quite close that will do more tests and scans for me once GP gives referral so that is a step in the right direction. Just would rather be spending the money on stoke cots etc! but oh well

ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 29/03/2007 18:45

Seaside - I know what you mean about gut instinct, but sometimes I think our guts make us think the worst is possible, to prepare ourselves for it! The test for the ovarian reserve is only in the developing stages, it's not something that a lot is known about, and because of that, I really want you to be cautious at accepting the result as is. I am not trying to be super positive, and say you should dismiss it - obviously it is worth investigating, but I just feel that to give you results of that nature without a proper consultation is quite bad practice. I know it's a waiting game to get the referral - but try not to focus on the short term goals - try to look further into the future. If you have to go down the route of IVF, at least you are coming to terms with the possibility now, and will be ready if the time comes. Thinking of you petal!!

Hello everyone only posted on here once but I after some of your temping wisdom again.
It my first month of temping and I worked out ok the ov bit. Now on cd25 dpo13 temps still up except this morning dh woke up at 5 for a wee and as soon as I woke up also need to go took my temp 36.29 very low and below cover line. Tried to go back to sleep but dd woke up at 6 we laid in bed until 7 took temp again 36.69 same as yesterday.
Was it just low as it was very early or does it mean af is on its way.
Seaside thanks for posting my chart before, sorry to hear you have been having a rough time with your tests.
Hello Ready like your new name I think I may join you on the new weight loss thread might give me a kick up the bum I need

iwillbepgbydec07 · 30/03/2007 08:26

prob stupid question - what does everyone class as spotting?!

duchesse · 30/03/2007 08:32

Gosh, Iwillbe- that's a difficult question! It's like asking what people class as a "heavy period"- I think it probably varies. From tmi conversations with a friend, it seems that what I call spotting is what she would expect at the height of her period.

I reckon a safe answer to your question would be: much less than a normal period, and intermittent rather than continuous or increasing. Let's see what others think though.

thanks duchesse - i have been bleeding now for 4 days - 2 of them very light no protection and then a bit heavier but no where near what i would expect for af. i have called it menses on ovusoft just to be on safe side as i know i am deffo no preggers.

have got a stinking rotten cold again too

i am going to switch places with dp on the bed as i always sleep nex to the heater i think this may have affected my temps before...and as you can see on my chart they are hardly consistent!

i asked dp what the plan of action is for this month (last month we went for it hammer and tongs) he said the same as last month until you get up the duff- so im i really hope he means this and is tajing it seriously now. i did slip in though that if it doesnt work this month the following month we will be cutting out alcohol completely and i will be loading him with vitamins and big healthy dinners - he also agreed to that to but i think he was just humouring me

i didnt get to grips with the whole full moon half moon thing - it so reminds me out that old jaffa cakes advert "full moon....half moon and them she shoves it into her mouth...TOTAL ECLIPSE!"

thanks mrsmc for going into detail about your vitamins i have copied and pasted it and saved it for next month! is your dp on any vits too? i have heard zinc and selenium is good? lmao at your relocation relocation flashback - remember that one very well! some people are just never satisfied.

rahrah - glad you had a nice time at the health spa even if it didnt meet expectations atleast it was a chance to get away and escape and clear your mind....just what you need for a bfp!

minxi - sorry about af ((hugs)) good luck witht he clomid. why did the doctor prescribe you that? is it because you dont ovulate?

iwillbepgbydec07 · 30/03/2007 08:57

sorry i posted before i had finished

seaside - sorry to back track and ask you but ive no doubt missed it while ive been away - are you talking about the boots home kit? did you do it? im not clued up on the ovarian research as you may have guessed and i can tell from your posts it is worrying you...((hugs))

ready - i like your theory about the following month -(obviously its only a theory as your bfp is just around the corner - hows that for pma?!) do you think i should suggest that to dp every other day throughout the cycle and then every day for 5 days around ov or just go for what we did last month everyday from about cd10-18.....

another stupid question coming up as we are on this subject....has anyone else been at it like rabbits constantly before during and after ov and still af arrived?

im just waffling now as its early in the morning i have a day off and couldnt have a lie in cos my nostrils are like a waterfall of snot ( sorry tmi )

have a lovely day ladies may get to pop on later!

duchesse · 30/03/2007 09:07

Iwillbe- in answer to your rabbit question- yes- for nearly 4 years now.

I don't know how long you've been ttc but six months is not at all an unusual time to have to wait. You'd be very lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you view the rabbit stuff) to get pregnant with a take-home baby in month 1.

iwillbepgbydec07 · 30/03/2007 09:14

im sorry to hear that duchesse i cant imagine what thats like ((hugs))

i got pg in march 06 after 1st month of trying but mc in june and had an infection caused by that also. i am now on my 11th cycle since mc

seaside72 · 30/03/2007 09:19

Hi all

duchesse - got it - Im on -ohsevenseventwoonesixfiveonetwofivesix - will aim for Cafe Bleu for a coffee at around 12.30?? I have a lunch meeting at 1.15. Will be coming from Habitat as have another meeting there at 11.30. will txt if any probs!!
I should have posted a pic really shouldnt I!! - well I am a tall gangly blond in blue coat and dark jeans with mad grey handbag - HTH!!

Iwillbe spotting for me is always the browney stuff - at beg and end of AF ?? although that is prob cos I am old and it gets more like that I think - from what I can remember when I was younger I kind of classified spotting as intermittent red - only needed a thin liner?? I am sure it is diff for everyone!
Re the everday - we never manage that!! I have to say it might be worth going to every other night and giving that a try as it will give the swimmers a chance to build up their strength a bit!
Thanks for asking about my stresses!! Yes I did do the Boots test and actually that was OK but then I also had a qute experimental blood test done for AMH (anti-mullerian Hormone) which is supposed to indicate the state of your ovarian reserve and my results were low more like the results of someone ten years older than me) Anyway am now on pursuing more tests to either confirm this and the go one to IVF or mabe disprove it??

Gotta go girls - back teatime!!

Very quiet today. Hope that everyone is off enjoying themselves elsewhere.

Ready - still feel that AF is on her way? Not managing to spot any encouraging symptoms?

ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 30/03/2007 13:31

Afternoon all

Iwillbe - I don't really know what the best plan of action is - you have try to combine what is right for you and DP, and maximise your chances of catching ovulation. My GP said to do it every other day throughout the cycle. And with all this moon talk, it seems that there could be a chance of conception outside what we normally assume - so we might have been missing out on another window of opportunity
With regard to spotting, I would say very light bleeding or coloured CM that only requires a liner.

Seaside - Hope you had fun in Habitat today. I lurve Habitat, just before Christmas we got those acrylic nest of 3 tables - they rock!!

Cedar - It's a tough one to call really, there is a general rule that for every half hour you wake early you add on 0.05 of a degree celsius - but it is only a rough guide and doesn't work for everyone. Perhaps just disgregard the temp for today and see what happens tomorrow. It is frustrating when you wake early, I have had plenty of that this month, I just took the reading as they were in the end. How long is your cycle normally? Fingers crossed for you.

Duchesse and Seaside - Did you have fun meeting up? V I would have loved to have met up with you both, but then it would have been a bit of a trek for me

Duchesse - DH and I went to Looe on holiday about 7 years ago, and went to Exeter for the day, we had a fab meal in a restaurant called Chaucers, is it still there? I had the BEST lemon chicken

*Lottie - Hope that you have a wonderful time in Spain, looking forward to hearing all about it. Take care of yourself

Rahrah - Did you see that I was embarrassed about missing you out before your spa break? I am really sorry about that sweets. How are you feeling?

Minxi - Oh, petal, I am sorry that you weren't lucky last cycle, but I am so hopeful for the clomid! Fingers and toes crossed for you!! Let us know how you are doing? When do you start taking the tablets?

Everyone else hope all is well.

Cedar - I hope that it was disturbed sleep that gave you low reading, it is difficult to know, but you should not rely on later reading as you had not had 3 hours sleep just before. I hope that tomorrow brings good news for you.

Seaside and Duchesse - hope you have a good get-together!

I am symptom-spotting already! I feel surprisingly positive about this month, so be warned I may need picking up from a big reality crash next week if af does appear.

yum03creameggs · 30/03/2007 13:37

Rah - sorry forgot to say welcome back!

Also - a note on the discussion on how often to bd - I always was under the impression that more was not necessarily better in terms of sperm count etc. If low sperm count then every two-three days is recommended rather than everyday. But I think it depends on how young you are what you can manage - I know we find too often, too exhausting and becomes too clinical for us.

ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 30/03/2007 13:39

Rattling - Shows how long it takes me to type my posts Well... I allowed myself, foolishly to get a little excited this morning cos my temp went up a bit. But right now my nipples are on fire (TMI I know!) and that is a sure pre menstrual sign I have had the cramps for a few days, but again, part of me let myself believe they could be pregnancy related. I am pretty sure that CD1 will be on Sunday. Had a look at your chart, hope you had some well timed effort at ovulation Fingers crossed for you

(hope its still ok for you to have a look) i've been plotting them on graph paper (who said GCSE maths wasn't good for something) and so far think its ok... got positive opk last night, when would i expect to see rise in temp to confirm i ov'd?? i'm still expecting to see something significant... will i notice?

My symptoms - They are TMI but you did ask lol! - lots (and I mean lots) of yellowish creamy cm, and vivid dreams about ex-boyfriends. Both of which happened in pg with me before.... ps don't tell my dh about the dreams

insywinsyspider · 30/03/2007 13:47

gosh took me a while to post those temps - have fingers crossed for you that temp stays up

yum03creameggs · 30/03/2007 13:48

insy - temps can take upto 2 days after ov to rise I believe (might be wrong there as I have never used opk's), and they should rise by 0.1 deg. celcius or more to show ov. hth

ovenREADYhotcrossbuns · 30/03/2007 13:54

Yum - Excellent I didn't realise vivid dreams were a sign! I have been having the most vivid dreams lately Last night I dreamt I was talking to some woman and called my DH "DH" to her, and she started saying "Oh you're a mumsnetter are you" - It was bizarre Well my fingers are crossed for you

Insywinsy - I have plotted your temps on my spare page, and with you +opk yesterday, I would say that today's temp was the pre-ov dip and that you will ovulate today (the LH surge is usually visible just before OV isn't it) so your temp should rise over the next day or two I would think. Finger crossed
