cramping 3/4 days after suspected Ovulation - Could I be Pregnant?

Hi all,

So I am a newbie to this website!

My husband and I are trying for our first baby! We are currently on our 2nd Cycle of trying (I sobbed when AF came to visit last) and I am now in that dreaded 2WW period. I have been having strange symptoms but I dunno if I am just symptom spotting because I'm waiting you know??

Okay so some background:

I believe that I am about 3 or 4 DPO (Clue says 4 days and Ovia says 3.. although I've only just started Ovia and been using Clue for ages to track my cycle so Clue might be more correct?) The past couple of days I have been experiencing a load of cramping! It started at the top just under my chest and for the past couple of days its basically period pains without AF! I keep running to the bathroom to check if AF has come early as I know Im not due until about Saturday next week! I seem to be weeing a lot more and I haven't upped my drink intake! (Or I could just be paying more attention to these things.) I also seem to be yawning a lot and REALLY gassy.. not to mention I'm having issues with going to the loo.

I did a PT yesterday and not surprisingly it came back negative.. coz its far too early to test right?

My DH and I did the deed on day 1, day 4 and day 6 of my suspected ovulation period and then again the day after (which would have been 3 days ago. ) I just did a CM test and had a load of stringy (sorry tmi!) type mixed in with creamy white. Could that be my husbands left over? Dunno if it lasts that long?

I was diagnosed with IBS a while ago.. but I haven't had a flair up for months and have't changed my eating pattern.. so i doubt it could be that!

Sorry if I am coming across as stupid.. this is all so new to me.. and there is only so much Googling a person can do before they start to become slightly crazy! Also.. It would be lovely to speak to people who are in the same situation.. as TTC is not really something you can talk to friends and family about is it!

Well done on keeping the motivation going! I need to take a leaf out of your book! I am trying to walk 10,000 steps a day! And make sure i get out at lunch time.. even if it is only for like 10mins.

So counted my days and my period has finally stopped on day 18! Whoop!!

I was meant to overlate yesterday but I have no idea if I have or not as I couldnt tell if I had discharge or not.

May have to wait till next month to try.

day 18! sorry to hear that. :( Maybe just DTD as much as possible and hope that you catch the day?

A miracle has happened... my period started today on the day its due!! First time in 7 months!! Lets hope it lasts 7 days this time not 18!

Now I can get my blood test done this month and hopefully my scan. They booked me in for a date when im away on holiday! Typical!! Just waiting for a different date now.

So glad to hear that your body is getting back to normal for you! But bad news about the scan.. it tends to happen that way for me too.

I am now on the 2ww.. waiting very impatiently!

I don't show on ovulation sticks but with my first time I tried to get pregnant I ovulated 4 days after my period used to stop and now I have no idea ...

I'm trying now but am being more relaxed about it ..

When I got pregnant the first time I did everything by the book and my gp said I would drive myself crazy and mentally block it happening so on the 5th month I did everything to distract myself. I wouldn't even let myself wander into thoughts if I did I switched it off and actually decided to sleep with my hubby because I wanted to not because of a cycle.. without fail that month I was pregnant and so freaking shocked I did bloody 8 tests because I didn't believe them ... so this time I'm relaxing and letting nature do what it wants

I do understand how hard it gets my DSD mom got pregnant when we were trying and 3 close friends and I was in bits plus a baby shower in there and I felt like I was falling apart and so jealous of them ... guess all I'm saying is distract yourself and will likely happen...

This month is my 2nd month of trying after having my DS 8 months ago and honesty if I hadn't had a strange little bleed in the midst of my cycle I wouldn't be even thinking of it ...

I sound mega thick now but do you work your cycle out for implantation based on the day of start or end of last period ? Very curious now

@MrsMamaG2016 This is the issue I am having.. i do wonder if I am over stressing my body and thus not getting my BFP.

implantation i "think" is normally 6-10 days after ovulation.

It's so bloody annoying when you want something you have no control over. I do pray we both get our bfp soon :) good luck op :) and thank you I've never ever understood all this sort of thing haha 😂

yes i agree! I hate this whole "unable to drink in the 2ww" just incase you might be pregnant. Am telling everyone that I am watching my weight which is why Im not drinking so that people dont automatically think its something else. I didn't drink a lot before but would always have a few at social events.

I'm the same I work In pub so keep getting offered a free drink each night after work and I'm like sorry just want to get home to hubby and my baby I look a right miserable monkey 😂x

So is it possible that your cervix changes position throughout the day? Tested in the afternoon yesterday instead of the morning like normal and my cervix had dropped. (so I instantly thought i was out.)

Tested again this morning and its back up again.. not so high though that I can't reach it...

Just want the day that I can test to come around so I can stop wondering if this is my month!!

I hope you get your +ve POAS result soon. I just found out I'm pregnant. Used a sharp POAS on Saturday and discounted it as negative but saw a faint line later on in the day. So did Clear Blue yesterday and found out I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant. I have been cramping up in my tummy for a week. Kept thinking it was a period. Last night it felt like I was really going to start a period it was so bad and I thought I was going to have an early pregnancy loss. I looked it up and period pain style cramping is a common symptom of early pregnancy.

Don't want to get your expectations up just in case it's not your month this month, but thought I'd share what I'm experiencing. It's still such early days for me too. I don't want to get too excited! Good luck

I really hope this month is my month.. I have quite a few different symptoms compared to last month.. but my BBT is dropping slowly so I am convinced it is not my month. :(

So update, Finally got a date for my ultrasound to check for cysts on my overies- next month.

Had my second blood results back on the fourth day of my period. This month finally arrived spot on the day it was due.

I think the ratio is 1:4 which isnt good as it should be 1;1.

Hopefully they can tell you what is going on next month @Littleonek! Such a long process though.. :(

Today is AF due day.. so I am waiting for it to arrive. :( Had a few different symptoms this month.. mainly my CM being a lot more stretchy then normal (and more of it) at this time in the cycle.. but I am convinced AF is on the way.

So I had my internal ultrascan today! Ive got 15 cysts on each overy. So she thinks its likely i do have pcos! Good news is my overies and lining looked ok. Waiting to see my dr on Friday for next steps.

@Littleonek... I am so sorry for seeming like I was ignoring you! For some reason i didn't get an email to say that you had responded.

Great news that they now know what the issue is so you can start getting proper help. :)

No problem!

My dr said ive got pcos as suspected, she said the easy option is to go on the pill. I refused three times and she said ow well in that case as your young (27) I can refer you to a gynaecologist and see if they can control my hormones by tablets. Then if that doesn't work see a fertility specialist. But she thinks hormone tabelts will be fine as im young and its mild (15-20 cysts on each oveary).

Did she not know that your trying for a baby?? Of course you won't want to go on the pill... I hope the hormone tablets will work. :-)

My trying sucks. :-( felt very different all cycle and was convinced that this was finally my month. But my BBT has been dropping slightly each day so I guess AF will appear today or tomorrow. (Sigh)

Yeah she knew I said months ago, I moved house in April so had to join a. New drs so only ever seen her twice in my life.

Ow no! I know how that feelsc I thought that last month but turns our my ovulation pain was probably my cysts bursting.

Well I due today.. my bbt has been dropping slowly.. but no sign of AF yet. Peed on an ovulation stick coz heard that they can show a pregnancy and got a faint line. do you think I should go and get a real test?

This sounds good, defo get a test! I have a few lying in my cupboard for situations like that.

I read online that you can test anytime durining the day after when you period is due, you just cannot pee for three hours or more. Try that, get a test at lunch time and try not to pee for three hours and do the test.

Or wait till tomorrow morning, but thats a long time away to wait! Lol
