cramping 3/4 days after suspected Ovulation - Could I be Pregnant?

Hi all,

So I am a newbie to this website! Smile

My husband and I are trying for our first baby! We are currently on our 2nd Cycle of trying (I sobbed when AF came to visit last) and I am now in that dreaded 2WW period. I have been having strange symptoms but I dunno if I am just symptom spotting because I'm waiting you know?? Hmm

Okay so some background:

I believe that I am about 3 or 4 DPO (Clue says 4 days and Ovia says 3.. although I've only just started Ovia and been using Clue for ages to track my cycle so Clue might be more correct?) The past couple of days I have been experiencing a load of cramping! It started at the top just under my chest and for the past couple of days its basically period pains without AF! I keep running to the bathroom to check if AF has come early as I know Im not due until about Saturday next week! I seem to be weeing a lot more and I haven't upped my drink intake! (Or I could just be paying more attention to these things.) I also seem to be yawning a lot and REALLY gassy.. not to mention I'm having issues with going to the loo.

I did a PT yesterday and not surprisingly it came back negative.. coz its far too early to test right?

My DH and I did the deed on day 1, day 4 and day 6 of my suspected ovulation period and then again the day after (which would have been 3 days ago. ) I just did a CM test and had a load of stringy (sorry tmi!) type mixed in with creamy white. Could that be my husbands left over? Dunno if it lasts that long?

I was diagnosed with IBS a while ago.. but I haven't had a flair up for months and have't changed my eating pattern.. so i doubt it could be that!

Sorry if I am coming across as stupid.. this is all so new to me.. and there is only so much Googling a person can do before they start to become slightly crazy! Also.. It would be lovely to speak to people who are in the same situation.. as TTC is not really something you can talk to friends and family about is it! Wink

@Littleonek thanks.. this whole business has gone on for so long now.. I just want it to be over. (and obviously get the job! ha!)

Gosh... I wouldnt know where to start with those blood tests... but glad to hear that they are mostly all normal. Good luck for your appointment on monday!

I am back to symptom spotting today.. day 9!!!! of high fertility and im feeling sick this morning. (but im sure thats because of the telephone call later and nothing else.)

So.. it was a no. Sad Angry

Basically to cut a long story short.. they loved me.. really wanted to hire me UNTIL they saw how much I earn and were like.. we really cant afford that. The phone call was the HR woman's way of trying to get me to sweet talk the manager into spending a bit more money (which they don't have) into hiring me. I am BEYOND angry with her.. she really gave me the impression that I was still in the running to get this. The manager even asked me if i could consider taking a pay cut of about £5k.. i was like.. Shock

What i really wanted to say was.. well no i cant afford to take that pay cut because i need a good maternity pay for when the time comes. haha What i said was ive built my life around my current wage.. i cant afford to drop it.

Still seething that the stupid woman made me think I was still in the running and i wasn't. GRR!

OP posts:
Littleonek · 05/07/2017 18:12

Wow! you work in a weird company to ask u for a pay cut!

U should put a complaint in, they should have been honest with u before the call!

Thanks, monday seems like very far away. Shock

Pinkemi · 06/07/2017 09:40

Well it was an "off the record" type thing.. I think he was chancing it you know? I thought about complaining but to be honest I just want to put a line under it now and move on. Had so much stress the past couple of weeks.. it is not good for baby making!

Talking of baby making.. I got my 10th!!!!! high fertility day on my Clear Blue dual hormone stick. Im beginning to go a little crazy over it... just want my peak day! Grin

OP posts:
Littleonek · 06/07/2017 17:47

Haha i gave up after 14 days of a peak. Never had the solid smiley face.

I read online that as soon as it thinks you are at a peak it will carry on going until you go back to normal. So some people do ovulate it just never shows up as it could have happened under 24 hrs between tests.

I found for me i tested at the wrong time so i wasnt ovulating. Once discharge happened and i retested it showed a peak. So they are worth doing so you can see when your fertile window is. Im just gonna look for discharge next month and go by that.

Hi guys,
So glad I found this thread, four days post ovulation and driving myself crazy hoping I'll be pregnant this month xx

Littleonek · 10/07/2017 11:04

I went back to the drs this morning. She said I have suspected PCO. And I have to have an ultra scan to rule it out as my other blood result ratios are fine.

She said the pill doesnt affect testerone levels so it cant be that.

It take a month to get an ultra scan appointment.

Also have to have blood test results done next month on day 2-5 of my period as the test I had done was on the first day of my period.

Pinkemi · 10/07/2017 11:27

@littleonek Sorry to hear about the suspected PCO.. but at least you are beginning to get answers for the issues that you are having! (Unlike us lot. lol)

@newmummyJJ Welcome! I will keep my fingers crossed for you that this month is your month!

Personally.. i think i'm out again.. I dunno why but I just get that feeling. Similar symptoms as to last month (sore boobs, slight cramping, a few spots on my face.) You would think that if i was preggers.. these symptoms would change? Plus.. CM seems to be drying up too. :(

Thanks, im hoping it all comes back clear. Joined the gym three weeks ago so will focus on getting fit and healthy. Wont know anything for sure until next month.

My mates who had kids recently said they had no symptoms when they were pregnant. So defo dont symptom spot as I did that and you get so disappointed when its a negative test result.

Pinkemi · 10/07/2017 14:34

Ah man.. no symptoms at all?!

I have also joined a gym.. and am trying to desperatly go.. but its been hard to find the motivation for some reason. I have stopped eating so much meat though as I think i was eating too much. Have also limited my dairy intake... baby steps! lol

OP posts:
Littleonek · 10/07/2017 16:04

Yep they all had none. Everyone is different though.

My motivation is energy levels and becoming fit so I can conceive.

NewmummyJJ · 10/07/2017 16:08

Thank you Pinkemi, I did a test today as have a feeling I ovulated earlier than I thought and got a very faint positive. Going to re-test this evening feel terrified to get my hopes up.

Pinkemi · 11/07/2017 10:35

@newmummyJJ wooo! a faint positive! What did your second test tell you? Grin

OP posts:
Littleonek · 11/07/2017 21:11

Congrats!!! How long have you been trying for?

Pinkemi · 14/07/2017 13:35

So i am pretty certain that this month is a no... But i cant quite get rid of the small glimmer of hope! lol

AF due sunday.. so just gotta wait..

OP posts:
Pinkemi · 14/07/2017 23:27

Took a test tonight.. BFN. :-(

OP posts:
Littleonek · 15/07/2017 16:27

Ow no, there is always next month! :)

Pinkemi · 16/07/2017 08:38

Yep.. AF arrived in full force.. just as predicted . At least I've got my cycle length worked out to the T. So fed up. :-( want to drown my sorrows into a bottle of wine.

OP posts:
Littleonek · 17/07/2017 11:50

Its good your cycle length is normal! Im on day 14 of my period which is super heavy with clots and cramps. Cant wait for it to stop.

Three weeks until I should have my ultra scan and have more answers!

Pinkemi · 17/07/2017 12:25

14 days on your period?! Jeez.. I'm really sorry! (Suddenly feel very guilty for complaining so much.)

I am pretty sure now that my weight and stress levels are effecting me getting pregnant. Both of us have a BMI of 30 or over.. it can't be helping matters! Time to start hitting the gym properly again and eating better!

OP posts:
Littleonek · 17/07/2017 13:29

Ive joined the gym three weeks ago as exercise is meant to help your cycle and energy levels.

Haha everyone has something to moan about when ttc as its an annoying and complex issue! No idea when im ovulating this month with a two week period. Do you still ovulate when on a period as its meant to be ovulation day today.

Pinkemi · 17/07/2017 13:48

How are you finding the gym? Technically I am the thinnest I have been in years at the moment.. But I guess it's just not thin enough! I do remember actually when I was marathon training (I ran one 2 years ago) that even though I was exhausted.. i felt good! Obviously not going to train for a marathon again.. but at least an hour 3 times a week would help me lose a few lbs. And the more exercise I do.. the more I feel like eating well. Time to get a grip!! lol

You know.. I "think" you wouldn't ovulate.. coz your body is focusing on your period.. but.. I dont really know! Google maybe? thats what I normally do when I don't know anything. haha

OP posts:
Littleonek · 17/07/2017 17:44

Wow running a marathon is super impressive! I do 40 mins three times a week. So far its good, im hoping it will improve my cycle. It defo hasnt helped stop it yet!
