Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has well and truly worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

Where are you at cycle wise hep? I always struggle with running the few days before AF.

Did two 5 ks last week though, both under 30 mins.

HepKestrel · 23/06/2017 12:28

cd30.... due any day.

I always have lack of energy just before AF. And the weather this week isn't helping.

under 30 mins??? go flash go !

I m trying to run a minimum of 2 5km runs each week. Am trying to stick to a 30min for 5k..... my best is 7km in 42 min Grin

AlexiaB · 23/06/2017 12:58

Thanks for clearing that up Harriet. Hope the tww treats you well.

Loving the Friday positivity girls Brew Here's some things I'm feeling positive about:

  1. I'm grateful for my marriage and that dh is healing through therapy.
  2. I'm committed to my low carb diet and lost 3lbs this week.
  3. Concert tickets arrived in the post today!

More than happy for you to share the blanket Hep. Congrats on your baby niece.

Hope you're both feeling better today Mouse and Ana Flowers

KerryLeanne84 · 23/06/2017 13:40

Oh my Flash - you literally are a Flash!

Love your positive things Alexia! I need to try out low-carb before IVF, I have such a sweet tooth!

Mine are:

  1. Silver lining if this IUI doesn't work is that I can go back to running and other strenuous stuff as I'd given it up during the TWW
  2. Got a lovely weekend planned with friends and then my brother coming to stay on monday who always makes me laugh loads, so plenty to distract me from IUI result
  3. I just got an unexpected opportunity which means I'll be earning an extra £500 in the next couple of weeks for doing not loads and it's quite fun!

I am feeling better already!

HepKestrel · 23/06/2017 14:11

GrumpyOldCat still doing ok (19y), despite a few health scares.

sk1pper · 23/06/2017 17:49

Hey chums,

Just a quick update to tell you I'm okay, just insanely busy with both work and my social life (I seem to have recently acquired one). My wedding is Monday, honeymoon Wednesday - so a few bits left to sort out there too.

On the TTC front, my period was early this cycle. I'm genuinely ecstatic about this. I had terrible visions of clutching my bloated, crampy abdomen whilst getting my DH to check to make sure I hadn't bled all over my wedding dress. I came off the Clomid last cycle and the gamble seems to have paid off, I'm back on it for this cycle. Next fertile week will be during my honeymoon...unbelievable timing but I am eating and drinking whatever the fuck I want. And I'm leaving the opks at home.

The other thing is that my DH -to-be keeps referring to our unconceived child as 'she' by accident. He clearly thinks more about this than he lets on.

Any good news I've missed? Hope everyone's well xx

AlexiaB · 23/06/2017 17:50

Love yours too Kerry. Yay for extra money! I hope you have a great time with your friends and brother. A welcome distraction as you said.

A low carb diet is hard because let's face it - who doesn't love bread, potatoes, pasta and all the carbs?! I also have a sweet tooth (chocolate mmm) and I'm a comfort eater so this emotional ttc journey has been difficult because I'm always sad and therefore not as slim as I used to be. Which also makes me sad, so it's a vicious cycle.

The only thing that's ever worked for me is cutting carbs and all junk food. I'm eating a lot of eggs/eggs white, medallion bacon, salads, homemade vegetable soup, chicken and veg. It's rather boring but it works. I find prepping food helps a lot. I don't have a huge appetite but I like to eat so I have to leave snacks in the fridge like meat, cucumber & carrot sticks, cherry toms etc. just to fill that urge. I also have an emergency meal for days I just can't cope - scrambled egg on brown bread. Soup and a whole carrot is a somewhat decent alternative to soup & bread. I've found it's all about finding alternatives to carbs. Tonight I made fajitas but dh had wraps and I had a spinach salad instead. The first day is always the hardest - you can do it! ❤️

AlexiaB · 23/06/2017 17:55

Hey Skipper 👋 Lovely to hear from you. So pleased af isn't going to spoil your wedding and how amazing that your fw falls during your honeymoon. Best of luck for the big day and have a fantastic honeymoon! Can't wait to hear all about it when you're ready xx

MouseLove · 23/06/2017 18:32

Hey ladies, feel fine today. I'm like a yoyo & I haven't had a bad day in a while so I'm sure yesterday was just an AF emotional blip.

Sooooo 3 things I'm positive for!!!!

  1. My health is on a positive track, medication & bloods are stable and I'm feeling good food wise. (I've been good allll week and only had a few chocolate buttons last night lol)
  1. I have amazing support in DH & mum. I'm so lucky.
  1. My bestie is coming this weekend and I'm going to make us an afternoon tea as a treat. So NOM!!

Oh and I've finished work for the weekend. That's always a positive hahaha.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

And Sk1pper HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!!! Enjoy every second, take 10 mins out with your hubby during the day just to soak it in, try to remember it all lol. And then go and have a BD filled honeymoon!! Xxxxx

Tonks87 · 23/06/2017 18:52

It's Friday evening, and I would love a glass of red wine..... So AF, if you are going to turn up, can you make a move on it please? Thanks.

kavanaughkj · 23/06/2017 22:27

Argh meant to add, would love to see the blanket. I knit mostly and am only learning to crochet, so envious of people who can do it! Can you post the pic here?

HepKestrel · 23/06/2017 22:38

HepKestrel · 23/06/2017 22:42

I should also add my niece is a long haul flight away..... So I won't get to meet her till next year. Hope to put this in the post tomorrow.

I'm still learning crochet, but think it looks ok!

sk1pper · 23/06/2017 23:05

Looks fucking awesome Hep - I like the way the colours fade in and out. One lucky babs!

HepKestrel · 23/06/2017 23:18

Thanks skipper! I probably should block it, but I want to get it in the post tomorrow, as I am away on a work trip next week.

Jamon · 24/06/2017 00:23

Flashinthepan · 24/06/2017 07:54

Have an amazing wedding day and honeymoon skipper!

That blanket is beautiful Hep. I've got 2 friends expecting babies this year, might need to learn some crafty skills and make them something. X

Flashinthepan · 24/06/2017 07:57

FX for the clomid jam. I was reading on another thread that some.people take soy isoflavones at the beginning of their cycle which are referred to as nature's clomid. So if you still struggle, perhaps you could try that?

I'm feeling happy with my temp rise. Is it normal for it to go up and then up again?

Thread 30, TTC #1 | Hilda hopefuls are still riding the shag wagon
kavanaughkj · 24/06/2017 09:26

Those are gorgeous colours Hep - your niece is one lucky little girl! Very neat stitching there too :) makes me want to get on with the blanket I've been knitting for months (except carpal tunnel makes my fingers hurt).

That's a nice looking temp rise Flash. I think it's normal to behave that way - and wow what an impressive list of GOSs!! Shock

Hope the clomid is gentler on your system this time Jam. Flowers

sk1pper · 24/06/2017 09:42

Clomid making you sick Jam?

KerryLeanne84 · 24/06/2017 09:45

Beautiful blanket Hep!

Skipper - have a fantastic wedding and honeymoon! It really is an incredible experience, enjoy it!
