Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has well and truly worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Key:
HS - have/had sex
GOS - good old shag
ELH - enthusiastic lavatory happenings
LSFX - legs spread, fingers crossed

You could try putting some ice packs in a cool box and putting the boxes straight in the cool box pjs.

Glad I've got some takers for positive Friday! Exciting.

Yes I hope it's well covered. This is the mot sex I've had in one go for years. DH is loving it, and being a trooper as he's got on board with needing to do it at the right time.

Flashinthepan · 20/06/2017 22:41

Thanks glittery. My mums gp said the spotting is most likely stress related causing some kind of hypothalamus imbalance which causes hormonal issues. So in my case I really do need to just relax! Let's see if things improve this month.

otters lsfx for you!

Scandalicity · 21/06/2017 06:57

Eva so sorry that you're going through this, completely heartbreaking 💔 whichever option you choose, take care & look after yourself Flowers

I am also in for Friday positivity flash Grin

Alexia I have to say you sound like a brilliant friend listening to your friend with 5 already! Hope the TWW is kind to you this month Smile

Hats off to you pyjamas on the injections too, I'm not sure I'd be able to do it, but then I am a massive wimp with all things needle related!!

Jeds55 · 21/06/2017 07:23

Hi all, dipping in and out of this as waiting for scan tomorrow - haven't bothered with ov tests or anything this month.
Sorry to hear that lots of us are having a really bad time of it atm, I just try to tell myself that each day is one day closer to our goal (even tho seems step further away sometines).
Eva I'm really sorry to hear what you're going through. If I had a choice I would take the pill (my hospital didn't offer it). I had the surgery, they missed some so had to have it again 3 weeks later. Since then periods have been lighter so am seeing a specialist tomorrow to assess me for scarring. As another lady said above (sorry only skimmed) the risk of scarring is present as they do the procedure blind so tread a fine line between getting it all and not being too vigorous. Totally your choice but would spend some time considering the options. As they left some inside me I did also experience the heavy bleeding and passing of clots etc and whilst it was scary it won't potentially impact any future fertility. (I didn't have the cramps tho so can't comment on how painful they could be). Recovery from surgery was quick and relatively painless it's just the potential impact. Anyway, just wanted to let you know as wish I'd been given the option of no surgery. Hope it goes well whatever you decide and you can begin the physical and mental recovery x

MouseLove · 21/06/2017 08:40

Eva I'm so so sorry. I had a MMC in February. I had a scan at 7+6 and everything seemed ok. But by 9+6 I started spotting and had another scan when they confirmed I had lost the baby. They wanted me to wait two weeks but since I had a good scan previously they left me only 2 days - they knew a heartbeat wasn't going to miraculously start beating again. Thankfully (seems such a hollow word) I passed the baby the day before my third scan. The third scan was pointless and I eventually had another scan 2 weeks later to make sure I wasn't retaining any products.

I personally was petrified of passing the baby at home, so I wanted the surgery but that's because I was already bleeding. I actually passed the baby at A&E and as horrible as it sounds I felt this almighty sense of calm when it happened. I am so thankful that I didn't have any retaining products too, I'm not sure I would want the process to be elongated in any way. The surgery is painless, but the pill can be a very painful experience and if it's anything like what I experienced I'm not sure I would wish that on anyone. But I understand it's important that you choose whatever is right for you, it's a mental and emotional battle as well as a physical. Please pm me if you need anything at all. Xxx

Flashinthepan · 21/06/2017 08:53

Good luck to you with the specialist Jed and hugs to you and Mouse for what you went through. Thinking of you Eva.

So we HS once more last night and I'm.pretty sure I ovulated yesterday. Had bleeding after sex so I think my spotting is from increased cervix sensitivity post ovulation. It seems to be the only thing left that makes sense that you can't really see on a scan/test.

Alexia this is my chart so far. Looking at the big temp dip today, despite the heat, I'm thinking I should expect a temp rise tomorrow if I've OVd. What do you think?

harrietm87 · 21/06/2017 09:17

Wow flash I just want to applaud your HS efforts - well done you and your DH!

Flashinthepan · 21/06/2017 09:35

Haha Harriet thank you! I hope it works because I'm not sure how many months we could manage it for!

florafoxtrot · 21/06/2017 09:41

High fives Flash - that's an awesome effort!

Let us know how the book goes Jam - I'd be interested too!

Thinking of you Eva

Jamon · 21/06/2017 10:52

Well done flash. I think some women get spotting after ovulation, which could account for it?

The book is making me cry - it's so so so so so so true. Every word about the emotional impact, the stress, how it affects your friendships work your marriage. It's like someone is reading my mind.

The point of the book is to help you cope with infertility, rather than get you pregnant. The second chapter is about achieving the 'relaxation response' with a tool box of relaxation and cognitive techniques. It's exactly what I need.

AlexiaB · 21/06/2017 11:07

Thanks glittery. How are things with you - how many weeks are you now?

Flash amazing GOS'ing!!! Brew I think today is O day based on your temp dip today and the fact your CM is still watery. Fx you see a lovely rise tomorrow morning! Since your temps have been so steady (despite the heat) I'm confident it'll rise tomorrow. Have you temped and opk'd together before? Just wondering how many days after your +ve opk you typically O. For me it's always 2 days and I like having that knowledge! Although this month I missed my +ve lol! Got a 75% at 6pm on Friday (CD13) and I expected to see a positive the next afternoon but it must have happened quickly overnight. Thank god for temping! (I'll attach my chart)

Jam I like the look of that book so I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts when you're ready. No I don't think she's nervous tbh, if the twins survived she would have had 7 kids including a 20 month old when they were born. Her children are 12, 9, 6, 5 and 2.5 so four of them are in full time school already.

Thanks Otters & Jam - we've been to Toronto where dh's brother lives but haven't ever been to the West Coast so we're excited! Dh's mum (California) and brother are going to fly out and stay with us for a few days which will be amazing. DH hasn't seen his mum since Dec 2009 Shock and the 3 of them haven't all been together in one place since 2006. It's sooo long overdue! Another reason I hate visas.

Otters really hope you O, do you temp?
Sounds like you'll have it well covered.

Hugs to you both Jeds and Mouse. Thinking of you Eva and wishing you the smoothest and fastest recovery so you can get back to ttc asap Flowers

Flashinthepan · 21/06/2017 11:15

My mum is from Vancouver Island Alexia The West Coast is beautiful. Do you think you'll get a chance to get the ferry over to the island? Well worth it in my opinion. Victoria, where my mum was born is lovely.

I've never OPKd and temped together. Although a couple of my charts from end of last year show fertile CM on the day of temp drop, so that bit does seem consistent. Is OVing 3 days after positive OPK unusual/bad?

Jam the book sounds great. Will be interesting to hear what it suggests in terms of coping techniques. Glad it's giving you some comfort that what you're feeling is normal given the situation.

AlexiaB · 21/06/2017 11:32

Flash yes that's one of the things we want to do! We're staying in Downtown so everything is relatively close by. We're going to take a seaplane & whale watching excursion which involves flying to Victoria and then getting the ferry back. So cool your mum is from there!

No I don't think it's a bad thing. Everyone is different and as long as you O that's the important thing. If there are more cycles it'll be interesting to see if it's always the same pattern. One huge positive is once you get a positive OPK you still have 2-3 days to have lots of sex!

Flashinthepan · 21/06/2017 11:38

I'm so hoping that this is the month! 6 days of sex should surely come with a reward (not that I didn't enjoy it, but when it's this hot it's a bit more of an effort!)

Oh that sounds lovely. I hope you have a wonderful time. All my mum's family still live in Canada and some of them live in Vancouver. It love everywhere I've been. If you ever get another chance to go, visit Kelowna, it's at the tip of a desert so has beautiful lakes, loads of wineries and gorgeous weather, mild all year round.

KerryLeanne84 · 21/06/2017 11:44

You definitely deserve a good reward for sex in this hot weather Flash! I saw a comment online saying 'If a man came at me with anything other than a solero I would cry!'

Flashinthepan · 21/06/2017 11:58

Hahaha. I did actually have a solero this week Kerry. Perhaps that's what spurred me on!

AlexiaB · 21/06/2017 12:21

Flash really hope your efforts are rewarded this month! I can relate to the extremely hot & sweaty sex lol

Kelowna sounds beautiful I'll definitely keep that in mind as I'm sure Canada will be somewhere we visit often. We have concert tickets at the Rogers Arena too so we're going all out. Have you been to Grouse Mountain? It's something we wanted to do but wondered if you had any thoughts.

Haha Kerry 😂

Flashinthepan · 21/06/2017 12:28

No I haven't Alexia. We did do a lot of mountain walking/climbing but mostly in the Rockies. The views are just incredible wherever you climb though, and one thing I couldn't get over was the feeling of vastness everywhere. It was so dramatic and beautiful. Sorry, I'm a bit of a Canada fanatic!

AlexiaB · 21/06/2017 12:38

No need to apologise, Flash I love your passion! I share very similar views and that's why we could have gone literally anywhere but I've always wanted to go there. The Rockies must have been an experience! Grouse Mountain has an awesome cable car and lots of things to do at the top. Restaurants with a view, a zip line, bears and other animals you can view etc.

Flashinthepan · 21/06/2017 12:47

Sounds incredible. We did the cable car at Lake Louise which takes you over an area that has been kind of allowed to be taken back over by the bears during the summer (it's a ski resort in winter) and we were looking down on mother bears with relatively tiny cubs etc. It was incredible. We got held at the cafe at the top as a mother decided to bring her 6 months old cubs out onto the slope and it wasn't safe to walk back. It was amazing to watch so up close!

AlexiaB · 21/06/2017 13:01

Omg how amazing is that! What an incredible experience adds to list of places to visit It's such a vast, beautiful country with endless things to do and see; I can't wait Grin

Sorry for hijacking the thread!

LoveRainbow02 · 21/06/2017 13:58

Sorry I've neglected the thread the last few days 😔. How is everyone doing?

Sorry to hear of your sad news Eva 💐

Good luck to those in their TWW or fertile week 😀

I'm in my fertile week the now but I'm not using opks this cycle to will have no idea when I'll ovulate.

Bought some baby aspirin and coq10 to try today but not sure I bought the right coq10 lol.

harrietm87 · 21/06/2017 21:17

Right team I need some advice. I've had crampy pains in my left side all day so did an opk tonight and got this on an IC. That's as dark as mine ever get so normally I'd take it as a positive. So then I did a clearblue and got nothing - a blank circle, no smiley at all.

I was expecting to ovulate last week and had EWCM tues, weds, thurs. Had an almost positive opk thurs night so thought I might've surged overnight, or else not surged at all. Looking at the IC I'd assume that ovulation was delayed because of all the stress, but then how does that explain the clearblue?? Could I have surged twice?

Any advice welcome. Going to HS tonight just in case...

Good that's alexia sickness is passing I think, no vom in 4 days! I'm 14 weeks.

Love the Canada chat, once we've finished the house that's where the next lot of saving will go towards. Everyone I know that's been has loved it.
