@Twisted your post has made me feel so much better, thanks!! I have a tendency to get obsessive about things anyway, and I knew straight away that OPKs etc. had the potential to drive me mad, and they are doing!

Yeah what is with all the recalculating on Ovia? Like I said in my earlier post, it shifted all my FW out by literally a week, just because I logged a negative OPK. That's just wrong!

I always get the impression from reading other threads that everyone else's DP/DH can jump to it at a moment's notice, which makes me feel really frustrated at DP! But yes, I do know that it's a very common thing amongst the menfolk....I think I am going to adopt your approach and stop with the crazy-inducing apps and sticks. Even this afternoon I was pondering doing a CB stick...WHY!??!?! Stop the madness!!! :D

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling great @flatwhite. Concussion can really take it out of you for a while, so look after yourself!

JellyBean89 · 23/05/2017 19:57

@pibbee the test from yesterday morning looks almost positive, try again tonight. I've had times when it went almost positive to negative and then positive, just to check if you are still unsure about ovulating. I never add my ovulation day on ovia, i out the positive test in sometimes but I mainly let it calculate using symptoms and cm. I usually works for me as I feel O cramps around the same day ovia gives me a score of 10. Sorry you're still having issues with DTD, I'd say try to not obsess about it but who am I kidding? This shit is driving us insane.
@flat I hope you're feeling better, make sure you rest up. What happened in Manchester is truly horrifying, I just keep thinking of those poor kids and families.

I wore heels to work today and my boobs are so tender they hurt with every step, I more sleepy than I was yesterday, i struggle to keep my eyes open, also got a migraine today which usually doesn't happen unless AF is on her way so I think she might be showing up earlier than expected.

JellyBean89 · 23/05/2017 20:00

Oh and I woke up with cramps which is usually a sign for me.

Pibbee · 23/05/2017 20:23

Sorry to hear you think AF is on the way @Jelly. Yeah this whole process is so crap! I am def going to try to chill out (yeah right!Hmm).

Yes the yesterday morning one is almost positive. However, ive now done 3 today (so much for chilling out hey!)and they are all negative. So I reckon I ovulated either Sunday or Monday (and cramps were worst on Sunday) which will mean am in with a chance from Wednesday night's efforts, just about...

charl19 · 23/05/2017 20:25

Jellybean some of that sounds promising - when is it due? Fx for you?! Maybe do a test to be sure!!☺️☺️

Fingers crossed for you as well pibbee.. now for reeeeallly long tww!!

Pibbee · 23/05/2017 20:31

Thanks @charl, it only feels like I was in the goddamn 2WW five minutes ago!

I dont really think there's much of a chance this month, but you never know!

MistyBxx · 23/05/2017 20:56

Hey girlies!! Sorry I've been awol, went out on the weekend and was hungover Sunday lol mooched around yesterday after work then was up til 2:30 this morning watching the news. Absolutely heartbroken for Manchester. As an avid gig-goer (Kings of Leon mostly lol 🎸🤘🏼) that feeling in a show like that is the BEST experience and it breaks me those families and children went through that. I've literally been so emotional about it. It's been making me think like what kind of world do I want to bring a baby into! My nephew is 11 and is into snapchat, he'd seen all the videos by 8am and he and all his friends were afraid. He asked my sister "why would a grownup kill himself to hurt so many kids? He must really hate little girls and boys." Oh my heart 💔 and I almost deleted twitter last night, the amount of bile and hate thrown around was brutal. Makes me so angry how people fall for all the propaganda! Feel so sorry for everyone!!
BUT on the flip side, I'm like NO... I won't let the actions of one horrible person scare me for life!! It's not fair! I'm for ☮️ not 👿
Sorry to get a bit heavy... I can't help it, I'm so sensitive.
But jellybean I have to say, your symptoms sound more than af to me chick. I don't want to get your hopes up but when I was pg my boobs were agony, I couldn't keep my eyes open, I had headaches and tbh I was a tearful grumpy moo thinking af was gonna arrive... but it never did.
flat you poor thing, hope you're feeling ok chick. Defo need some rest.
It's taken me so long to write this far I've forgotten what everyone else has said lol.
Thanks for listening to me rant.xxx

Hey girls! How is everyone doing?
We've already booked our wedding for 07.07.2018 and IM SO EXCITED!! Need to lose some serious weight fast so I can go dress shopping! Anyone got any advice on losing weight please? I've always done slimming world which works but slowly, and I don't like weightwatchers. I'm thinking something like Cambridge just to shift the weight quickly 🤔
I need help on using OPK's please. I have no idea what's going on with my ovulation, so to try and track I'm still using them. I'm doing one a day and I'm doing my second wee of the day. Is that enough to get an idea of when I've ovulated? I would think it will start to "peak" but I may never get a full "positive" but then once I've ovulated it should start to trail off again?! Xx

MistyBxx · 24/05/2017 08:02

Omg littleemma congratulations chick!!! What lush news to wake up to today!! I am wedding obsessed lol 😂 If I can help with anything, please ask!! As for weightloss... I'm a bit of an expert on that too lol I could do with losing a few lbs myself at the mo, but before my wedding, I had a structured plan and lost almost 2 stone! I was so skinny 😩 have you heard of a Clean 9? It's a 9-day body cleanse, I did 2 in 4 months before my wedding haha 😂 and another 2 in the run-up year. Twice I lost 8lbs and 7 inches, once I lost 6lbs and 9 inches and once I lost 5lbs and 11 whole inches!! That was the last one! I didn't have so many lbs to lose but the inches fell off! I was loving life lol. Loads of swapping meals for shakes, 2l of water a day and the GYM! I was in the best shape of my life for my wedding lol... 8 months on... I've let myself slide 😳 but if you wanna know any more about it, gimme a shout. I work with forever myself (I'm not pushy though lol don't panic, not gonna start shoving Aloe down your throats haha) but I am pretty clued up so if you wanna know anything, please ask.
I wish I knew as much about opks as I do about Aloe 😂😂😂 I use the cheaply Poundland sticks so no smiley faces for me.
I'm feeling a lot better today after yesterday. Sometimes you need a down day to re-evaluate how you feel and what is good in your life and how lucky you are xxx

littleemma1 · 24/05/2017 08:22

@misty I thought you might like to hear about 😊 I'm getting married in Hexham Abbey which is beautiful and I really can't wait!! Sending out the "save the dates" today as I'm on two rota'd days off 😄
I have heard of it yes, but I'm dubious about those things in case the make me poop a lot 😂🙈 I struggle to go for a no.2 in public toilets and I'm at work for 9 hours a day so I'd be bound to need one at some point (sorry for the TMI girls lol!)
As for the OPK's I only use the IC POAS versions as I CBA to be catching my pee in cups etc. Seemed to have had a strong peak on Monday morning but not a full positive and I don't know what my other symptoms are! Xx

MistyBxx · 24/05/2017 08:50

Haha I know what you mean 😂 I had to go to the docs before coz I wouldn't go to the toilet in work I was too embarrassed, made myself ill 😂🙈 luckily I've never experienced much poop action on the clean 9, you're not eating so much so you don't really go that often but PEE omg... I swear I was peeing every 20 mins for 9 days haha that's how I detoxed, all in the pee 😂
I'm on cd19 of a normally 28 day cycle so I don't see the point of opk'ing now as I have probably missed it! Haven't dtd since sat night though and I'm only in Ovia's FW now so gonna try this week just in case 🙈xx

MistyBxx · 24/05/2017 08:51

Just googled Hexham abbey.. omg! Fit for royalty!! It's gorgeous!!❣️❣️❣️

OP posts:
JellyBean89 · 24/05/2017 09:49

Awww @Misty I know what you mean, it drives me mad that people could do such things.

@littleemma Congratulations!! I don't know too much about diets but one thing I remember from Uni is that some quick fix diets can affect your hormonal balance and therefore your periods. I googled Hexham Abbey and it is stunning!!!!

I had a backache since last night, today it seems to be more lower right back (which is the same side I had the sharp cramps on a few days ago). AF due in 4 days so the backache seems to be right on time for it, although it's usually more centre lower back. All my symptoms seem promising but I also get them all before AF. Only strange things are my sore boobs (they hurt when I brush my teeth...I am B cup, why are they juggling?!) and I am so sleepy and have been for a week now. Usually I get extra tired 1 day before AF and it's never this bad.

littleemma1 · 24/05/2017 10:18

@misty I already pee so much as I like to drink a lot of water, if I don't I am plagued with headaches!! I'm off for a week in June so maybe that would be the best time to do it as I can't imagine my boss will like me for leaving my desk every 10 seconds lol. And at least if I'm off and need a poo I'll be at home 😂🙈
@jellybean I'm so hopeful for you!! 🤞🏼 Don't write any symptom off, just be careful not to overthink them because I think it's then that the brain starts to play mind games!
Ovia doesn't have a clue about my cycles as I'm that irregular 😤 I'm just learning to go with the flow now and when it comes to TTC we'll just go at it like wild rabbits and hope for the best 🐇🐰 😂🙈
Only problem with going with the flow is I never ever know when AF is due, however I have started recognising certain symptoms. I'm sure I'll get there. I've only been off the pill since December so still need to give my body a chance to chill and regulate, if it will ever do that. Still waiting for my gynaecologist appointment coming through!

littleemma1 · 24/05/2017 10:20

Ps. I know, isn't Hexham Abbey lush!! We're going to pay the extra to have the bells rang as it's going to be so special. Reckon around 110 people at the ceremony alone and then 170 at the reception. We'll be getting married around 4pm so skipping the day time do and going straight to night time. Can't afford to feed that many people 3 courses!!

littleemma1 · 24/05/2017 10:30

Also, here are my one a day OPK's... reckon I ovulated between 22/23?

TTC First Time... #3!!
Pibbee · 24/05/2017 10:33

@Jelly I think you can POAS can't you if AF is 4 days away? Not that I would tbh, I would wait, but anyway!

I cycled into work this morning and am feeling mighty proud of myself! Its only 6 miles but still! Got a bit scared by some of the massive roundabouts/buses/lorries/roadworks, but I live to tell the tale!

I don't know much about diets either but I need to go on one! I have piled on the pounds the last year or so. At first I found it amusing for some reason but now I'm like "holy shit I actually need to do something about this!" Obviously biking into work this morning will have shifted ALL the excess weight...Grin

Congrats @littleemma!!! Me and DP haven't booked anything yet but we only want a small do (if anything at all!). We cant decide if we wanna stay here or go abroad though, which is not helping us make plans!

Did a bonus DTD this morning, think I am def not in FW anymore but there is i think a teeny chance the egg is still hanging around, so let's see!

Pibbee · 24/05/2017 11:28

Oooh I just had a nosy at Hexham Abbey, it's lovely!

Pibbee · 24/05/2017 13:08

@littlemma re your OPKs, which line is the control line and which is the test line?

OPKs dont indicate that ovulation has happened, they indicate a surge in the LH hormone which kicks off ovulation. I think that ovulation tends to occur 12-36 hours after a positive OPK.

Twistedsister7 · 24/05/2017 13:14

Oooh @JellyBean89 I am hopeful for you!! Someone needs a BFP around here.

@littleemma1 diet wise you have to figure out what works for you! SW never worked for me due to a lack of emphasis on portion control but WW did help. I hate groups though! I'm now doing low GI & gym, results pending lol. My friend did Cambridge & did amazingly well but it's tough going in the early stages!! Good luck whichever you do.

@MistyBxx I completely understand your rant & the instant hate towards a different culture makes me ashamed to be English in all honesty! But there are a lot of people out there trying to help so we need to concentrate on that. I'm just so sorry for the poor parents & injured parties. 😪😪

Twistedsister7 · 24/05/2017 18:12

Guys I need talking down.

AF due 28th May. No clue how many dpo as didn't test or really track but going off Ovia maybe 7/8 dpo. We dtd once in Ovia suggested fw & once either side. In my head I was expecting nothing & no hopes were raised BUT here I am having naps after work, extreme fatigue & the scariest dizzy spells!! What is this.

I have a work party Friday night so tempted to poas tomorrow morning #psycho

JellyBean89 · 24/05/2017 19:20

Hey @Twisted your symptoms do sound promising, but maybe wait until Friday morning to poas, it would still be early but I think a frer would detect hcg. Fx for you!!!! Keep us posted.x

@littleemma try taking another opk today, you usually ovulate within 48hours of your peak surge I think.

@pibbee check you out!! Cycling in London, makes you a very brace woman! Honestly I sometimes get scared walking with the way some people drive!

Ovia says I can poas in 3 days and I have a frer at home but I will hold on until AF time. My symptoms sound promising to me but at the same time I don't have much hope. It's strange. A part of me is like "NOPE stock up on pads" and another part is like "it finally happened". I don't know which part to listen to so I'm just not gonna do anything yet lol.

Twistedsister7 · 24/05/2017 20:39

Thanks @JellyBean89

My sensible brain got my ass to the gym! Now I'm all yogi & zen & told myself to buck up because I wasn't even trying this month!!

Our brains are funny things!!

Pibbee · 24/05/2017 21:29

Well done on the gym @twisted ! I am pretty tired from the bike ride home, loved it though!

Re symptoms etc, my sensible brain would think that 7ish dpo is too early for symptoms, but on the other hand I have precisely zero experience so dunno really! Am no help, I know...

I mentioned my friend who went for IVF embryo transfer a couple of weeks ago. Well that was 14 days ago today and I haven't heard from her. Not sure if I should get in touch or wait to hear from her!? Probably the latter but I don't want her thinking I'm not arsed.... But then if it's bad news (hopefully it isn't)then she probably doesn't want enquiring messages....She is a good friend and we have known each other not far off 20 years but we aren't as close any more due to me moving away, but she's told me all her IVF stuff so far so..... Any thoughts??

MrsMelron · 25/05/2017 08:56

@pibbee that's a tough call on what to do with your friend. How about sending her a message just to let her know you've been thinking of her, and you'd love a catch up when she's free. Then you've made contact and the ball is in her court for what she tells you and when.

@littleemma congratulations on your wedding! I LOVE WEDDINGS!

@JellyBean89 fx for you, the symptoms sound promising!

I don't know what we're going to do now. I spoke to someone at work yesterday to see if he thought it would be problematic at all to rock up in November with a bump (and that's assuming that I could get pregnant right now, which we all know is not as easy as my DH seems to think - he's got a serious case of stud syndrome! haha). He said it won't be an issue. So now I want to get cracking, but DH still wants to hold off.

Sigh.

I need to stop stressing about this.

As for cycles getting back to normal, I had forgotten what hormones can do to you. I have been an absolute mess the last couple of days. Weird cramping and totes emosh. I'm from Manchester, and now I have to stop watching the news because I can't stop crying when I watch it. I'm temping, and my temperature looks bonkers when compared with the "expected" pattern. Still though, only CD14 of the first cycle, so who knows what's going on?!
