So in the absence of our lovely founder Hippy, I've set up thread #6 to help us keep up the motivation and PMA.

Congratulations to all our grads, the rest of us may be slacking behind but we'll be there soon!

Bfn, I'm not surprised I have no symptoms at all. I'll certainly be having a few drinks in the sunshine this weekend Wine

Hippychic18 · 26/05/2017 14:05

magpie hi

loa awwww chic I was fully expecting a double whammy. Cheers to drinking our way to bfp Wine

Xxx

ArchiesMamaBird · 26/05/2017 14:27

Oh I'm sorry Loa, I honestly thought you'd be announcing your BFP this afternoon. Are you going to go to doctors regarding your late AF? Or just wait it out? Have you ever had a cycle this long? But yes yes to drinking in the sun this weekend! I know that's what I'll be doing WineGin

Ah bollocks @loababy!! So sorry hun. I'll join you in those drinks 🍷🍾🥂🍸🍹🍻🥃

ArchiesMamaBird · 26/05/2017 21:43

I'm so cranky tonight, AF is definitely on her way next week 🙈 Its strange though, this is the first month where I've kind of accepted its already, normally I spend the whole 2ww living in hope to then be disappointed. So I'm kind of glad that I've had all these AF symptoms now so that I can prepare for her arrival #cycle12imcomingforyou

Oh no loa. So sorry. What a bummer. Enjoy a weekend of treats. Though if AF isnt here yet, is there still some hope? (PMA!)

Hi Hippy and the rest of you lovely ladies. Bank holiday weekend! Though I have a lot of work to do, but never mind.

I am 8 dpo today. The usual selection of could be AF, could be anything else. Mild cramping, sore boobs, some sharp pulling pains in the womb area, etc.

Hippychic18 · 27/05/2017 06:42

Morning ladies - well I don't know about anyone else but I've woken up to rain in true bank holiday wk end style, where did the sun go?!

archies i grnuinely hope your crampy pains are implantation related. I don't have any majorly symptoms but accepted I was out this cycle even before fw this cycle. I think that maybe getting my hopes up in the 2ww is contributing to a bigger crash and zapping my Pma so have decided that I'm not going to get my hopes up any more and adopt a more casual it will happen when it will happen approach. Fx it helps. I'm sure I'll still be mardy, disappointed and grumpy if she who can't be named arrives but hopefully I won't have a mini meltdown. I'll get back to you on that one 😂

magpie fx your symptoms are pg related too. I think you said you're going to wait it out this month which I kind of prefer too although I always find the last few days of the 2ww go particularly slowly. Fx for you.

Well I had my bloods done yesterday which was ok until I looked at the needle and with that look and the hot weather I went over a little funny for a few seconds .... but all in all it was ok. Have to go back on cd1-3 ... hoping there's no need but fully expecting to go back so tentatively booked the second appointment for next Friday and Monday ... as I never seem to be bang on in terms of cycle length.

Rain seems to be clearing ... hope you all have a lovely bank holiday wk end

Xxx

Hippychic18 · 27/05/2017 06:50

sarahb are you still with us? Are you ok? Xxx

ArchiesMamaBird · 27/05/2017 07:29

Hippy glad your bloods went ok 😊 I'm the same, I think I'm trying to be practical rather than get my hopes up. Normally I'm full of PMA all the way through the cycle, even when AF arrives I convince myself at first that It could be a late implantation bleed (until she comes full force 😬). But after 11 months of that I'm really struggling with the emotional come down when I realise I'm not pregnant. So I think that's where my PMA has gone this month, just trying to protect myself from the heartbreak when AF pops her head in 🙈

And the rain seems to be easing here too. I bloody hope it stays dry because we're off to search for Dinosaurs today with DS!

OP posts:
MissMagpie · 27/05/2017 08:32

Archies I am exactly the same. My PMA has taken a nosedive for some reason. I am sure the crampy feeling is a sign of AF. Can't face getting my hopes up to be dashed again. I have been so resilient in the face of what happened last month but feeling like I am about to crash and burn.

It doesn't help that I find out in two weeks if I am getting made redundant, the fact my brother's fiancée has called off their wedding two months before it is is supposed to take place and the fact that a lot of friends and relatives are popping out babies at the moment. And breathe!

ArchiesMamaBird · 27/05/2017 08:41

Oh Magpie, what a shitty time for you. Sometimes it feels like the world is against you, but just remember that these things are sent to try us. My favourite mantra is "always believe that something wonderful is about to happen". This was the screensaver on my phone 4 years ago when everything seemed to be going wrong and I was so low and upset. And then a few days later I found out I was pregnant with DS! So I try to live by that little mantra when times get tough, but I think it's totally normal to have those negative emotions every now and then. Like as soon as AF arrives and I've got over it, I'm sure I'll be full of PMA again for next cycle Smile

Oh @MissMagpie that's sounds like a tough time. Totally agree with what @ArchiesMamaBird has said though. Sometimes you have to feel the lows to really enjoy the highs when they appear. And they will. I have so much going on in life at the moment-work stress, my mum is not well at all, I'm not getting pregnant when the REST OF THE WORLD is and it defo gets on top of me some days. I have a good old cry and pick myself up and crack on in search of the good in life!

Glad the bloods went ok @Hippychic18. Fingers crossed you won't need to go back.

@ArchiesMamaBird where are you based? Just asking because there is a dinosaur thing going on at a park near us too! Probably just a coincidence!! We're off camping today though. This rain can do one!!

Hippychic18 · 27/05/2017 12:41

archies hope you manage to find some dinosaurs 😊

magpie and cakes Flowers for you both ... undeniably life is sent to try us at times, I truly hope you get your bfp very soon.

magpie I got made redundant a few years back and although it was utterly shitty at the time, it did work out for the best and my new job is so much better. But of course i hope it doesn't come to that for you, especially if you like your job.

Xxx

Hippychic18 · 27/05/2017 12:41

loa hope your ok chic xxx

ArchiesMamaBird · 27/05/2017 12:52

Cakes we're just outside Birmingham, it was Jurassic Kingdom that we went to at the Botanical Gardens. It was fab and the rain held off! In fact, we were boiling!

Sorry to hear that you're going through a shitty time too. Just think, it'll be even more amazing when you get your BFP if everything else seems to be going wrong at the same time. And here's hoping the rain holds off for you guys this weekend ☀️

MissMagpie · 27/05/2017 22:12

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

Cakes, I am sorry you are having a hard time too. Look after yourself.

We went to Jurassic Kingdom last week - it was great!!

Hippychic18 · 28/05/2017 06:54

Morning ladies :))
Hope your all enjoying the weekend.
8dpo here and nothing exciting to report.
Like you guys I'm just playing it down this cycle and probably will do from here on in. Getting my hopes up in the 2ww has proved less than fruitful so i'm trying the old ambivalent approach. I'm sure I had a few twinges down below yesterday but nothing overly noticeable, meh oh well. As I've not been pg before I'm guessing I won't notice the cycle my bfp decides to show itself anyhow 😊

Happy Sunday
Xxx

ArchiesMamaBird · 28/05/2017 12:04

Hey Hippy. I'm also 8dpo here and feeling exactly like I do before AF. I can't really remember what I felt like before my BFP with DS, because we weren't trying so I wasn't really looking for anything. I didn't suffer with PMS symptoms back then either. I do remember that I used to get mildly cramping the day before AF, and I had that one night so was sure AF would arrive. This carried on for 5 days and when AF still hadn't arrived I did a test and got my BFP 😊

Hi ladies, wd love to join you. I'm just starting a new cycle and need to rediscover my PMA! I'm 44 and have two lovely dcs so a third is a complete long shot but we've been trying anyway. It's hard to stay positive given my age. Hard not to keep wishing I was ten years younger/started earlier/you name it..! but I'm trying to stay positive and remember the blessings I already have.

ArchiesMamaBird · 28/05/2017 16:03

Hi Clara and welcome to the PMA club! I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I already have a gorgeous DS but we've been tying for number 2 for 11 months now. And I can honestly say that these ladies are all amazing and are fab at picking you up when then PMA starts to slip 😊

OP posts:
Hippychic18 · 28/05/2017 18:35

archies I'm not feeling overly hopeful this cycle either .... hopefully we're both be pleasantly surprised:)))

clara welcome aboard ... this train, bus, thread is only going to destination bfp so your on the right thread :)). We are a bit thin on the ground at the moment with members as we've had lots of grads and I second what archies says .... amazing ladies on here, especially when your Pma is dipping :))

I'm 38 by the way and ttc #1 ... cycle 6 or 7 ... and completely understand the age pressure as i would ideally like 2 dcs xxxx

MissMagpie · 28/05/2017 20:02

Hi everyone. I think no signs is a good sign Hippy and Archies. It is still very early.

Welcome Clara. Has it been different trying this time compared to when you got pregnant last time?

I am 34 and in cycle 11 of ttc #2. It took me 12 cycles to conceive DS and I started when I was 30. I just seem to make hard work of it!

Today is 10 dpo. Been having twinges in the side I think I ovulated from and had a big dollop of creamy CM earlier but nothing much else to go on apart from short crampy spells. My boobs have been hurting for ages so ignoring that one!

ArchiesMamaBird · 28/05/2017 21:45

Oh Magpie, I have everything crossed that you get a BFP this cycle Smile are you going to test early or wait it out?
