Come and join me in this new thread. I want a least one graduate per week and no ttcing to take longer than two months for everyone here!!

OP posts:
Seabird · 26/07/2004 21:23

fingers crossed runtus.

I've been keeping a low profile, trying not to be too obsessed, pretending to myself I'm not that bothered... But I know that I'll be doing a First Response test on Thursday . I have no feeling whatsoever one way or the other, but then that's how I felt when I first got pg with DD.

Really hope it happens so DH and I don't have to go through the stress of having to BD to order again - Runtus you will understand this, it caused major problems between us this month

Tania2 · 27/07/2004 05:14

Sorry to hear that runtus but i do agree with Azure and cobweb it may be too early. i got a BFN with ds1 didn't get a bfp till i went to doc's feeling sick and tired thinking i had the flu i was 8 weeks pg. AF due one week B4 my birthday on the 15th Aug and we are planning a night out on the 14th so i have made it very clear to myself that if af is late i will not test until the day after my b'day 1)if +ive wont drink and everyone will know!! 2)if -ive it will upset me on my b'day. this will be the first month that i will have to have the will power not to test b4 af due. but hay keep tuned i will proberly cave Good luck seabird for Thursday!

runtus · 27/07/2004 08:31

Thanks for the messages but af arrived today (another £8 down the drain....) so all bets are off. Bit disappointed but to be honest I didn't really think it was going to be +ve, no symptoms to speak of and I just didn't have 'that feeling' everyone talks about. I've decided to cut back on my drinking and general unhealthiness for a bit though, I have had a bit of a heavy month socialising wise and it can't help can it?

Seabird, I so know what you mean, the pressure to perform at the right time has really taken the spark out of our sex life. I was just saying the same thing to a friend of mine with and 18 month old - she and her dh still haven't really got back into the swing of things on the sex front now! How scary is that!!!

Azure · 27/07/2004 09:19

Sorry about AF Runtus .

OP posts:
malinki · 27/07/2004 10:44

Hi ladies, when that spark has gone and your dp/dh is aware that he is only there to perform and has basically had enough, do what I did and seduce him. When my dh feels that it is that time again when I need his little swimmers, he goes slightly cold, not in the mood type of thing, so I cook him his favourite meal (which is usually Roast beef and all the bl--dy trimmings), a bottle of red wine and put on his best CD (it makes them relax more when its something they like, even if you hate it), for my DH, it works always with Dido, whether he thinks of her, I'm not sire, but thats another issue, then I go for the kill, sexy underwear, then after we've polished off another bottle and talked about everything from the bills to whats on TV, I am the one that takes him to the bedroom and I take his hand and wham bam thank you ma'am, excellent, works everytime and I think he likes it (alot) judging on his performance, if you know what I mean

bluestar · 27/07/2004 12:18

Hi everyone. Waiting for the OPK to show positive but am bding every other night at the mo. Hoping to get the signal before Sunday as dh is working away next week and would be a miracle to get pg under those circumstances!!

Tania2 · 27/07/2004 12:22

Iam sorry too runtus about AF.
I know what you mean girls about the pressure to perform. dh really feels it says that i only want sex in the week that iam ovulating. find it hard to create the moment after running around all day after a toddler once ds is in bed all i want to do is relax. this month though around ov week dh was home from work so when ds was having his day sleep we would bd then and if dh was lucky i might have the energy at night too! tell you what though if we dont get pg this month i'll be very suprised!!

runtus · 27/07/2004 15:22

Sounds like you have it sorted Tania2 and Malinki! I have sort of been heading in that direction myself but no where near as full on!I have even been nosing in the door of Ann Summers, which I never thought I'd do!

We are off on holiday in 3 weeks time though and dh is always a bit more 'active' shall I say when we are away Hopefully this month will eb the month for all of us!

ChaCha · 27/07/2004 16:13

Hi all. Sorry about AF Runtus never mind. Look forward to next cycle - fingers crossed eh?

As for me, CD14, think i ovulated on CD12. DH's swimmers only stayed in (sorry for TMI) on CD9, but have BD'd every other day! Hoping that the fact that they did not stay in during ovulation time will not make a difference. You can kid yourself can't you?

Good luck to everyone waiting to test. Good luck to those nearing OV. Anyone around the same date as me?

Azure · 27/07/2004 16:21

ChaCha, it is unlikely that all the swimmers would have escaped, although I know it can feel like that. Have you tried taking Agnus Castus (sp?), which is meant to strengthen the cervical mucus, which in turn helps to keep in the fluid? I'm on CD11, so a few days behind you.

OP posts:
runtus · 27/07/2004 16:37

Just found this re: Agnus Castus

This is the herb of choice for helping to restore hormone imbalance and increasing fertility. In one study 48 women diagnosed with infertility took agnus castus daily for three months, 7 of them became pregnant during that time and 25 of them regained normal progesterone levels.

Agnus castus is particularly helpful for those women who have a luteal phase defect (shortened second half to the cycle) or those with high prolactin levels, because it stimulates the proper functioning of the pituitary gland which controls the hormones.

Agnus castus works to restore hormonal balance and can be used where there are hormone deficits as well as excesses it:

Regulates periods
Restarts periods which have stopped
Helps with heavy bleeding
Increases the ratio of progesterone to oestrogen by balancing excess oestrogen.
Note:
Don't take any herbs while you are using drug treatments or going through assisted conception (such as IVF), unless prescribed by a qualified practitioner.

Might give it a try myself

BeckiF · 27/07/2004 17:14

Not sure if the Metformin are working but I have a painful left boob, and that bloaty feeling in the lower belly, so maybe my hormones are having a go at doing what they should! I'll be upping the dose this week to 4 a day .... just keep on plugging away!

Staceyk · 28/07/2004 07:26

Good girl Beckif, I know it's not nice but you're doing really well.
I'm so hoping Metformin works for you xx

Seabird · 28/07/2004 08:11

Well I said I was going to test on Thursday but... I couldn't wait... and - well, I wouldn't exactly say it's BFP because it's very faint, but it's definitely a line

It's funny, even though I've long recited the mantra of this board "a line is a line is a line", now it's me I'm feeling much more cautious! Especially as I'm only 11DPO (AF not due til Sat - it was a First Response test). Am even sort of wishing I hadn't tested yet (bearing in mind what some MNers have said about getting an early +ve then it turning quickly neg). Think I'll get one of those unambiguous Clear Blues and do it tomorrow.

Anyway - am vvg of my pals on here given that I daren't mention this to anyone yet!

ps hello Pollyanna

Seabird · 28/07/2004 08:13

Sorry - meant to say "am vv GLAD of my pals here" - nerves are making me all thumbs!

Tex111 · 28/07/2004 08:22

Seabird, I had a very faint line at 9DPO with DS and it just got darker and darker. I know you'll be concerned until you get a darker line and have it all confirmed but you're right 'a line is a line is a line'!!! Congrats!

Seabird · 28/07/2004 08:29

Thank you for the encouragement Tex - and for being the first person to congratulate me (when I told DH he just looked at 8mo DD in my arms and gulped!). Fingers crossed anyway.

Azure · 28/07/2004 08:39

A line is a line - I can understand your concern Seabird, but it is highly unikely that you are being given false hopes. Many congratulations . Yet another graduate on this thread!!!

OP posts:
SKM · 28/07/2004 09:24

SEABIRD, PLEASE BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY A LINE IS DEFINATLEY A LINE,I HAVE JUST BEEN THROUGH THE MOST AGONISING TEN DAYS GETTING FAINT LINES, (SCROLL DOWN THIS THREAD AND YOU WILL SEE) AND THEN HEY PRESTO ON FRIDAY IT WAS NEAR ON FLASHING IN NEON LIGHTS, SO I WOULD SAY YOU ARE PREGNANT- CONGRATULAIONS
YOU BEST JOIN ME ON THE MARCH 200 THREAD YIPPEEE

Seabird · 28/07/2004 09:48

Thank you . Yes I've been following your posts SKM and was delighted for you. I think I'll feel better after Saturday, I just keep thinking of those stern warnings on Fertility Friend etc saying that since the invention of super-sensitive tests many more people are aware of having very early m/cs which they wouldn't otherwise have known about.

According to FF my EDD is 8 April so I guess I won't be joining you on the March board SKM - though hopefully lots of you will be joining me on the new April board when it starts

Tania2 · 28/07/2004 13:10

CONGRATULATIONS seabird .
funny how when i read that anyone on this thread is pg i feel so happy for them but if one of my friends get pg i get envious and upset (then iam happy for them). well i never thought about the early testing and m/c. try not to think of it that way or you will send yourself mad and paranoid. hopefully i will be able to join you on the april thread. here's to a healthy enjoyable pregnancy! cheers!!!!

Seabird · 28/07/2004 13:52

Thanks Tania2! I know exactly what you mean about the mixed feelings when RL friends get pg. That's why this site is so lovely - I'm really glad I un-lurked myself so I get to share my news here.

Have now done a Clear Blue test and got "Pregnant" so feeling a bit more positive .

Sorry - feel like I'm monopolizing this thread this morning!

runtus · 28/07/2004 14:48

Huge congratulations Seabird - now you've done the other test I hoipe you can rest a bit easier and start to enjoy it!

I'm going to use your good luck as a kick in the right direction for this month, if it can happen for one of us it can happen for all of us

malinki · 28/07/2004 14:55

Massive Congrats
But its like Tania2 says and i'll add my bit, on this site, its like we're a team, we are all going through the same thing, we can talk, scream do whatever and know that there are others that are in the very same boat.
I wish you much happiness and not so much morning sickness, a big hug from me to you (((hug)))

Piffleoffagus · 28/07/2004 15:55

Gorgeous news! Congrats indeed! I am so lucky to already have 2 I feel somewhat indulgent even occupying space on this thread.
I have never had to ttc before, it just happened...
My cycle has been mental ever since it came back after I had dd 21 mths ago Oct 02. Long periods, no discernible ovulation etc...
Had hormone tests from pro active doc, all normal!! so told me to sit and wait until cycle regained stability.
Have been ttc for 7 months no luck...
this month for first time, cycle has been normal, period was only 5 days, nothing more, so fingers crossed..
what are the best times to leave between sex? Should I stay lingering after sex and not dash off for a wee? I really feel so stupid having 2 kids and not knowing this stuff...
TIA
Piffle Frazzled and a bit desperate
