Hi DuRez Hcg levels are not reliable indicators and they are only used until you can see something on a scan. I'm almost 10 weeks and no one has ever cared or checked hcg levels throughout bleeding etc as they could see sac etc on scan. Have you not got another scan soon? That'll be helpful. I wasn't offered nhs follow up scan after bleeding about 5-6 weeks - they saw heartbeat and left at that. We paid for private scan at just after 7 weeks and seemed all well but I was still bleeding after that so not sure either if all is going as it should be. I've stopped bleeding now and I feel sick all the time and will find out in just under three weeks at dating scan. I was tempted to organise another private one it's only £90 and it was a consultant radiologist who was great but I'm reining myself in as I know I can't resolve all the worries I'll have. Plus it causes a bit of anxiety going to the appointment. CBD are £10 bits of plastic so not 100% truth Grin I think hcg should go up by at least 60% every two days rather than double anyway - some women will double some won't. If you have bleeding/pain or you suddenly lose preg symptoms you've had then take steps but assume all is well otherwise I think. Doctors and nurses HATE the week indicator things if it helps!

DuRezidal · 18/03/2017 13:19

@Thissameearth my scan only showed a sac and a yolk, nothing more.

They gave me a follow up scan next weds so still 10 days to wait

Thissameearth · 18/03/2017 13:28

That's all they would expect at that point I think, is that what they said? It's a hard business waiting it out isn't it - should be a little window Smile

Kiki18 · 18/03/2017 13:32

Durez - try not to panic when I had my early scan at 7 weeks they only saw a sac and a yolk and they estimated us only at 6 weeks so that is all you should expect to see then. We didn't see heartbeat until the scan 2 weeks later - as long as they were happy that all looked as it should be I'd take comfort in that. I know it's easier said than done as I have 12 week scan on Weds and although still have very prominent symptoms am worried about a missed miscarriage xx

Sorry for those who have had AF appear hope you all enjoy a good drink this weekend and I'm rooting for you all that next cycle we will see more bfps!

Good news on the higher morphology jam hoping it happens naturally and soon xx

Thissameearth · 18/03/2017 13:32

nim that is really awful with the MCs esp at the stage you were at and it dragging out now. I really hope you've got a plan of action from docs now so that you can put this behind you and if you feel like it, be in a position to be trying again WineCakeFlowers

Londonjam · 18/03/2017 14:22

Fx for you durez

To think I used to think that conception would be easy Blush dear me, it's so much more fraught and difficult than I ever imagined.

It will all be worth it though, I'm sure.

Footy1 · 18/03/2017 14:27

Kate, make sure you get checked out as feeling faint and sick is not a good sign. Look after yourself and let us know how u are. Although a pregnancy can also make u feel like that. Thinking of u xx

Mimi, tee, jam hope u enjoyed your drinks!
I am sitting relaxing with a glass of wine right now.. before I hit the spa! Typically we have done lots of dtd and it's not even fw! So bad timing really, nevertheless AF still not appeared and tested bfn on cheapie Ic yesterday. So I can only keep it up incase I ovulate?!
Jam I text my mate about you.. hope u don't mind. She works in a fertility clinic and said your DH levels are fine. She has worked with people who's sperm was a lot less than that and he has a good amount and is lively (as she put it). So don't worry 😉. She studied the SA thing so knows her stuff. She did say month to month can change for a man. Def reduce alcohol though. This can slow it down and create less. Frequent sex is good she says so keep at it! She did wonder how I knew about another mans sperm count! Lol..
you might find it will boost your fertility getting good positive results. Maybe try that soy stuff that Kate did. It suppose to create big ripe juicy eggs. Although clomid also supposed to do that but not really worked for me. Loads have recently conceived with clomid first time. Why not meSad?

I agree with Earth about the cb tests. U are right.. £10 piece of plastic. Can't exactly go by that. So don't worry durez x

DuRezidal · 18/03/2017 14:45

Thanks everyone.

I have sat myself down and given myself a good talking to. It is still showing 2-3 so no reduction in hormones. I had a scan on Wednesday and the bleed had not affected the blob as it was definitely there.

Having to wait until 29th for a follow up scan is a little frustrating as there is definitely the anxiety there about what will be seen (as I remember most scans to be with my daughter) but nothing will change that at the moment. But, if a heartbeat is detected at this point I think I will finally relax a little and feel like I am past the first hurdle.

I think inseminating and scanning horses makes me more conscious of what can go wrong as I breed from 8 of my own mares so have lots of experience reading scans etc. I spotted the sac the moment the sonographer did, so I will know immediately next Wednesday if there is a heartbeat.

Londonjam · 18/03/2017 15:00

Bless you footy that's so sweet of you to ask and very reassuring 💜

Are you still taking clomid? Would your oh consider taking some supplements to help things? Also I think no DTD is wasted - they recommend every other day throughout cycle so it's all good hon.

physicskate · 18/03/2017 16:47

jam I took soy isoflavins for like 3 days (or was it four?). Got em from holland and Barrett.

Feeling much better today. Only slightly nauseous. No more fever, diarrhoea etc... calling gp Monday to get an appointment to get tests rolling...

2nd cp, is there anything to improve egg quality?? Ideas welcome!!

Footy1 · 18/03/2017 17:22

Kate only clomid I know that improves egg quality. Metformin is also used for ladies who have a lot of miscarriages. Did u have bloods before? Check progesterone levels maybe?
Think it's inconclusive as to what causes us to miscarry.
I'm so sorry kate, hope you have plenty of support from Dh. Xx

Footy1 · 18/03/2017 17:23

Jam- no clomid this cycle for me- I just tried the metformin. Was told to get it into system then try clomid following month. I'll try persuade Dh to take supplements.

Kiki18 · 18/03/2017 20:16

Footy - hope you are enjoying that wine! Keep your chin up I have a feeling that your bfp is coming soon, I don't ovulate on just clomid it was the combination of that and metformin that worked for me. It was the metformin that sensitised my ovaries to then accept the clomid to make me ovulate. You have a good build up of metformin now so I think with the clomid it'll happen xx

Kate - glad you're u are feeling better physically sending you hugs xx

Durez - the wait for the next scan is tough I have everything crossed for you that your little bean will be going and have a good heartbeat to show off to you xx

DuRezidal · 18/03/2017 20:25

Thanks @Kiki18, it seems a long long wait and every little twinge has me worrying but I guess a lot of people are like that.

Londonjam · 19/03/2017 06:33

Glad you're feeling better Kate what's the soy for? Re egg quality - there's a book called 'It starts with the egg' which seems highly regarded

Fx crossed you're getting closer with this medication combo footy

Keeping fx for you durez

DuRezidal · 19/03/2017 06:38

@Footy1 what does the metformin do?

physicskate · 19/03/2017 08:08

jam I was trying to use the soy to shorten my gp. My cycles have turned fairly regular the last 6 or so months but they are quite long at 33/34 days which gives me fewer chances to get pregnant! So it's been a year of trying but only 11 cycles (well this is the start of the 11th).

I tried Angus castus for a few months for the same thing but that didn't work. Might check out that book thanks! It helps to feel like I'm being proactive even though it's all just pot luck!

Still a bit sad but bouncing back sooner than I thought I would! Helps that af has gone light and nausea etc are all gone.

Footy1 · 19/03/2017 08:09

Durez It makes the ovaries respond better. Suppose to help regulate ovulation. But the drug itself is also used for diabetes. So that's why I been feeling terrible as it's been breaking down the sugar in my system which I don't need so it makes u feel very sick. Better lately..
next month I try clomid alongside and hope for the best.

No af still! But few twinges and tingly boobs so possible imminent ovulation or AF?

physicskate · 19/03/2017 08:09

Ugh fp not gp.

DuRezidal · 19/03/2017 08:41

Ah horses have a similar drug, we use it on mares who gave irregular cycles and don't always ovulate.

Can people get haemorrhagic follicles?

Footy1 · 19/03/2017 12:38

Yes they are cysts I believe that can rupture anytime. These can cause a heavy bleed. You can still get pregnant even if you have lots of cysts and sometimes they can burst even after you are pregnant. Ladies who suffer from pcos have this problem, and have mid cycle bleeds also.

DuRezidal · 19/03/2017 13:08

Well some good news... I took my advanced horse out today and won both classes #threehearts

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 19/03/2017 13:26

Not been on a for a couple of days but wanted to see how everyone is doing?
mimi sorry to hear af arrived.
footy has af stayed away?

What cd is everyone on at the moment?

I'm on cd 11, due to test on the 6th April and dtd 5 times since af left the building.
Dp has totally done a 180 on me and I can't believe it. He was always very unenthusiastic about ttc no 2 and now he wants to dtd all the time and said he's come round to the idea and thinks it wll be nice to have another lo. Can't believe it tbh.

physicskate · 19/03/2017 13:34

We went out for the day and now feel really faint hot and nauseous again. Not well at all. Hardly bleeding at present (sorry for the tmi). What the hell is going on?? Is this a bug or to do with the cp??? Can't even think about food without wanting to be sick. Not sure what I'm meant to do!!!

DuRezidal · 19/03/2017 13:58

@physicskate just out of interest have you done another test?
