Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Winging - thanks I'm going to check all my plastics rigorously. This world is crazy!

Penguin - sorry hon, know what you mean...enjoy your drinks though, you deserve it xx

I'm still waiting for AF. If she's not here tomorrow, she will be late for the first time since TTC. I don't have any symptoms whatsoever, I don't even have my insanely sore boobs which I always get before my period - it's confused me. Loads and loads of brown spotting but no red stuff. And normally the raspberry tea is enough to get her out of hiding. Any chance I could be pregnant at this stage even with a BFN on an FRER and loads of brown spotting? I feel like an idiot for hoping...maybe I've jinxed it now.

Londonjam · 08/03/2017 08:23

Winging I will watch my plastics use - thanks! I will get round to getting that book.

Hugs pyjamas I hope you have some fabulous plans for your birthday

Skipper I don't want to help you get your hopes up but I'm keeping everything crossed for you, I hope af stays well away. Do you have any other non PMS stuff? I always get achy lower back and hips and a funny thing tummy right before AF

sk1pper · 08/03/2017 08:34

I've had a string on headaches and a spot on my nose, that's literally it. It's probably just playing silly buggers again.

Londonjam · 08/03/2017 08:42

I got excited the cycle before last - I can't remember why - and was quite convincing myself. This was the day before AF due - it came the next day on time and I've promised myself then that I am not allowed to get excited again until my period is actually late - not here the day after it is due.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you, you very much deserve this.

Kathrino · 08/03/2017 09:16

Sk1pper, I'd say there's definitely still a chance. It's still really early if AF is only due today. So hoping this is your month, as Jam says, you really deserve this.

Sorry about AF pyajamas, it's always hard when another milestone passes without that BFP. Enjoy having a few proper drinks though and wishing you the very best of luck for this cycle.

InspectorPenguin · 08/03/2017 09:31

Hey folks. I'm sat having breakfast in Wagamammas at Heathrow T5 waiting for our flight to Japan :)

Just wanted to say I'll be thinking of you all while away and hoping to see a good smattering of BFPs when I get back.

Fingers crossed Sk1pper! And sorry Pyjamas, but enjoy your drinks guilt free tomorrow. I turned 36 a few months back so can empathise with you Flowers

Love to you all 😎

WingingIt83 · 08/03/2017 10:10

Have a wonderful time inspector! I went to Japan a couple of years ago, it is an amazing place!

Flashinthepan · 08/03/2017 10:28

Hello ladies. I've been lurking. Sorry some of you are feeling so crappy about everything. Flowers and [tea] for those in need!

Skip a bfp is definitely still possible. It seems there are plenty of people who don't get a bfp until the day after AF is due or even later.

I'm in fertile week. EWCM all over the place but not temping or opking, so just going to HS lots and hope for the best. Will be away all of next week which will be a good distraction for most of the 2WW.

Flashinthepan · 08/03/2017 10:29

Oops Brew!

macsworth · 08/03/2017 10:38

Hi all,

Having a good catch up on here.

inspector you're off to Japan? We're going at the beginning of April. Have the most amazing time. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🇯🇵

jam when's your completion date? I hope you've got a good bottle of bubbles ready. Also did I remember right that you're doing a run for woman's day?

Happy international women's day by the way everyone.

skipper got my fingers crossed tightly for you. Might've been too early for the FRER.

pyjamas plans for your birthday sound great. Hope you have a great time. Drink and eat all the things you're not allowed!

winging I ditched my plastic bottle this year for a metal one. Didn't realised it impacted hormones though. Will be looking for a Tupperware replacement!

alexia I really hope you're feeling better. Hormones make this whole thing so much harder to deal with.

binky yep, I'm a fellow NHSer. Makes the maternity pay a bit easier with moving jobs because of the continuing service. I'm so sorry you're feeling so down. I hope you manage to look after yourself. TTC is so overwhelming.

Think I'm entering FW but still playing it cool 😎. EOD shagging and concentrating on other things in life...like whether tile paint is any good....so rock n roll.

Hopefulbunny · 08/03/2017 10:38

Sorry for AF Pyjamas Flowers hood you have lots of WineCake for your birthday and lots of fun things planned!

skipper hope AF stays away for you!

inoector penguin Japan sounds fantastic have a great holiday!

I've had call from surgeon who wants to see me to do a scan and chat about my op so anxious waiting now!

Hopefulbunny · 08/03/2017 10:39

How may spelling mistakes in that message hope it all makes sense! Need a stronger coffee this morning.Brew

Kathrino · 08/03/2017 12:00

Have a fantastic trip Inspector, can't wait to hear all about it!

Flash and macs, wishing you both the best of luck for FW. Sounds you have exactly the right attitude and I'm hoping this is the cycle you both get your BFPs.

Hopeful, hope all goes well when you talk to the surgeon.

CD30 here and nothing to report. Think AF is probably due tomorrow although not entirely sure. I never get much warning so the lack of symptoms doesn't mean a thing!

harrietm87 · 08/03/2017 13:03

hopeful what's your op? Sorry I must have missed your earlier posts on it.

flash and macs lsfx!

kathrino also fx for you tomorrow - will you test?

alexia hope you are feeling better!

I'm 3dpo and enjoying not poas! Coming down with a cold though so hoping that won't affect anything in unlikely event we conceived again.

SmittenPears · 08/03/2017 13:04

WT actual F is right, ha ha! Thanks for the sympathy, ladies. Sorry, my details are all in pieces over my posts so I know it's hard to get a handle on my situation. Yes, I have tended to have longer periods. But also, I've been on the pill for 10 years and came off of it in September.

And yes, I did notice ewcm around the time of the possible ovulation pains and really dark opks. So, all signs point to.... (I havent been temping, because I really think personally it would turn me into a basket case)

And yes, although I'm baffled, it's kind of like, "ok, straight to another TWW without having to get past AF? Sure, alright." But I'm now wondering if my cycle was always THIS long and weird and I just don't remember because I wasn't TTC, or if this is still the pill having messed with me, or what.

sorry about AF pyjamas Gin

sk1pper, the day of your wedding, boo! hope you are knocked up instead!

Tonks87 · 08/03/2017 13:33

Hello lovely ladies, I have been following the chat but thought I'd pop by for a catch up if that's still ok.

I'm sorry AF got you Pyjamas - I hope you enjoy your birthday and I'm positive you'll get you BFP before May.

Good luck with your scan Binky I hope it goes well.

London I'm sorry the appointment gave you mixed feelings but it's great that your looking at your options to come up with a plan. FX a surprise BPF comes when you're busy making other plans! And congratulations on the house!

Smitten how confusing about the OPKs! I hope you figure out your cycles soon. Weird cycles on top of TTC stress just isn't fair.

Peaches I hope you're ok. I've been thinking of you Flowers

Alexia I'm sorry you're having a tough time. I can't even imagine everything you've been through but you strike me as a strong and inspirational lady and I know you'll get the family you want and deserve.

Sk1pper don't worry about AF in June. A lot can happen between then and now - including a BFP!

Good luck to upcoming testers and hugs to anyone that needs it.

I'm 4+6 and still too scared to join a grads thread in case I jinx anything. So if anyone could hurry up and get their BFP and hold my hand over there that would be great!

Londonjam · 08/03/2017 13:59

Eek penguin how bloody exciting! Have a fabulous time. We are considering Japan for my sabbatical later this year - I will be keen to hear how you get on.

hello flash hope you are doing okay, sounds like a nice chilled approach. Good luck catching the egg..

macs we complete on the 31st and yep we've got the bubbly ready! Need to start packing and clearing stuff out. Yes I am running tonight ! You have a good memory. I'm rather nervous. I hope your brother is continuing to improve.

Fx for you hopeful hope the chat goes well

Fx kath I'm rooting for you

harriet I'm sure a cold wouldn't make any difference. I think it's a common early pregnancy sign - so I don't think it can do any harm

smitten that must be so confusing, hope you can carry on HS and your OH is keen

tonks! glad to hear all is going well. I so wish I could join you and hold your hand! unfortunately I'm still waiting for AF to clear off so I can't help you just yet!

Kathrino · 08/03/2017 15:00

Thanks Jam and Harriet, I won't test until Saturday at the earliest but assuming AF will arrive before then. It's all good though, I've got a few busy months coming up and am away with work next week so will have plenty to focus on.

Harriet, I'm sure a cold won't do anything other than make you feel a bit rubbish. Make sure you get lots of rest!

Smitten, maybe you geared up to ovulate a couple of weeks ago but didn't manage it for some reason? Our bodies are so bonkers sometimes.

Lovely to hear from you Tonks and glad you're doing well. Can't wait to join you.

Good luck with you run Jam!

sk1pper · 08/03/2017 16:11

Penguin - enjoy your trip, are you going to Tokyo? We may be going there for our honeymoon. Tell me all about it!!

Flash - EWCM all over the place? I laughed audibly at work at this. I'm...glad for you. I think. Grin

Kath - urgh it's frustrating isn't it?! At least we can hold each other's hands whilst we ride the end of the 2ww out.

Sorry I want to reply to everyone but it's tricky on my phone at work. Enjoying the activity on here today though.

Lovely to hear from you Tonks!

Flashinthepan · 08/03/2017 16:31

Haha Skip yes quite the image isn't it?! Glad it made you chuckle. I just laughed out loud in the office when my DM sent me a text telling me she was making chicken and cesarean salad for dinner tonight!

Pyjamas81 · 08/03/2017 17:00

Thanks for the support guys - will definitely be having a large 🍷 tonight!

I found this really great summary for everything that's involved in ivf on our clinic's website: ivf.org.uk/uploads/data/files/lister-fertility-clinic-cycle-information-ivf-icsi.pdf

Pretty daunting, but am resigning myself to fact that this may be our option.

Ewcm all over the place 😂😂 brilliant.

Fx for you kath - hope AF stays away!

Enjoy Japan penguin 🙂

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all you guys for being here - as the months go on it's more difficult talking to friends who aren't going through this and don't really know what to say. I don't know what I'd do without this place!

geeup · 08/03/2017 17:20

Jam - what's this about a sabbatical? What an amazing opportunity to get pregnant. Is it fully paid? Do you have to work? Can I have your job?

Londonjam · 08/03/2017 17:28

Pyjamas I had the exact same thought this morning on my way to work - how much it has helped me over the last 15 months having this place. Sometimes when I'm feeling so terrible I remind myself how strong people here are and the positivity and hope actually makes me feel stronger and like I can cope too.

Why are you thinking you will need IVF-ICSI? Have you had any tests done yet? It's so good to know we have options but I'm sure there is still a good chance of you conceiving naturally

Geeup I get 6 weeks paid leave this year for having worked here for 5 years. It's amazing really, plus it's on top of 28 days holiday and very good maternity pay. This company is difficult to leave. I always thought my sabbatical would coincide with maternity leave - but that is now looking very unlikely so we are talking about planning a big trip instead. DH reckons he can get a month off. I suffer from quite bad anxiety going away though so am going to have to get myself mentally prepared for it.

Pyjamas81 · 08/03/2017 17:51

We've had all the tests done and got the all clear other than my low AMH - they recommended IVF if no luck after a year of trying naturally as I'm quite literally running out of eggs. We want two eventually as well, so I don't want to waste time.

That's so amazing about your sabbatical!!

Londonjam · 08/03/2017 18:16

Of course - I remember you saying now. Are you looking into doing it privately in the uk?
