Thread 26. TTC #1 - Calm as a hysterical cucumber

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

My op for hysteroscopy and to remove fibroid is a week today and seems to be all I can think about right now! Hoping it goes okay and nothing gets effected fertility wise.

I'm still bewildered about what's happening with my cycles - day 6 now I think of flashing smiley. I've been having quite extreme pain in what feels like both ovaries as well (hope they are cranking up to get going again), CM today finally starting to look a bit wetter and less glue-like but not at EWCM stage (and I always get that). It's cd 19 and I really hope that I'm just delayed because of mc and will actually ovulate this month. Yesterday would have been my booking in appt with the midwife.

Anyway, haven't seen the list in a while - who is testing soon?

Hi girls, I'm doing alright thanks. We had a big heart to heart last night and both cried. We have promised to be kinder to each other. We've not been looking after each other or putting our relationship first and it's damaged us. We don't have control over our fertility but we can control how we deal with this situation and we are both going to try to have more patience support and kindness for each other.

We are buying the flat. We've transferred the deposit and DH is taking the contracts to their offices now.

We have said we will start saving again as soon as we're in and will have at least one go privately before the NHS IVF kicks in. Some of the European clinics are much more affordable - Reprofit Czech is €1950 for one IVF cycle including ICSI. We can save that up pretty quickly.

The situation sucks but there's a lot to be grateful for really.

And we keep trying in the meantime. Perhaps with a bit of pressure taken off. I'm certainly going to be less mental about it.

That must be frustrating harriet it sounds like your body is trying to get back to normal after your mc. Hope keeping up with sex is okay and egg is here soon.

London, c o n g r a t u l a t i o n s on the flat, that is worth celebrating! This will be a good thing. I'm sure it's been a hard (understatement) few days and a difficult conversation, but I'm sure you'll both be the better for it. Don't be hard on yourself for "letting" TTC get to you -- it's so, so hard.

jam I'm so sorry that the appointment wasn't the news you hoped for but gee's points are good, I hope you can take something from them.
You sound so much better today, like you have a plan and hopefully you can relax and get that miracle BFP. And if not you'll get there.

Pyjamas, my plan is exactly the same as yours. AF due Weds, not testing until Sat in the unlikely event it hasn't shown up. Not really thinking about it at the moment, going to enjoy this beautiful day and have a few cocktails later (even if I am in the TWW!)

So Kath - we work for the same company, in the same city, have the same name and our AF is due on the same day! Getting spooky now!! Enjoy your cocktails 😊😊

jam sorry to hear that your appt didn't give you the news you wanted to hear, but it sounds like there is a plan of action in place which is good. Glad you've had a good heart to heart with your DH, it is so difficult to not let TTC get in the way of your relationship, but being kind to each other is a great start.

We went to see Russell Howard at the Royal Albert Hall Thursday night. Was crying with laughter at times. He is apparently on Heat magazines top 100 list of weird crushes! I don't understand why he is a weird crush! I like a funny man lol.

Anyway I am hoping that a nice evening of laughter has kicked those ovaries of mine into gear and egg will be making an appearance in the next week. FW starts tomorrow.
