Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

I'm due 18th March Smile

AlexiaB · 24/02/2017 21:07

I can't quit Macs Sad well not yet anyway. Honestly our relationship is very strong and we never argue, I just lost my shit due to almost missing FW. We have come up with a bit of a plan though. TTC until July with Femara and if it still hasn't worked we'll take a break from all things TTC but still HS. We'll focus on ourselves, do some more tests privately and schedule a medicated IUI for Jan 2018. Still keeping my fx for you! Are you testing tomorrow? Hope AF has stayed away Flowers

Thanks Tonks. That's very reassuring to know you conceived whilst severely stressed this cycle. It gives me hope! Would you mind sharing your chart please? Fx for your next test Smile

Thanks glittery, I'm determined to be 'relaxed' this tww. Hope you hit FW very soon and can get started!

Vi so pleased you've got some answers now but sorry you're still in horrible limbo. I've been there and it's agonising! When is your gynae appointment? If AF hasn't arrived by then I'd demand provera or something similar (to induce AF) and then request a monitored Clomid cycle. Is that something you'd consider?

Jam hope you're enjoying your relaxed evening in. Food sounds yum! I wish I had better advice to give but luckily we haven't had similar issues. We tend to agree on everything thankfully. Please trust in yourself though. I believe you are 100% doing the right thing and the fact he stopped you sending the email proves deep down he wants this too. Hold him to that and put a quick stop to any negativity he spouts, unless it's actually a valid point. I hope he can support you going forward now and you can begin to get excited about being home owners. You'll both be so happy I'm sure. Hope your face heals up soon too!

Hi to all. Hope you've got lovely weekends planned Wine

It's mad to see my name on the grads list...I'm still not convinced!

Your Friday night sounds lovely and relaxed Jam (except for the rosacea- sounds sore!)

A plan sounds like a great idea Alexia. I'm positive that by Jan 18 you'll have a baby in your arms but having a plan will at least let you feel like you're in control. I have lots of white dots on my chart, my temp taking has been quite erratic as I'm not sleeping.

Tonks - yes having a plan does feel good but fx we get lucky and won't need it. Your chart looks great! All that GOS'ing really paid off Grin I actually think your crosshairs are wrong and you're only 9dpo based on your +opk and still having ewcm on CD14. Please don't doubt that line - you are pregnant. I've been looking at +ve tests on FF for too long now to not know when it's real. It's also a very promising line for 9dpo and shows your bean has implanted early which is ideal. Excited for your next tests. Hope you sleep better tonight x

Nice chart tonks. We're convinced! We're your cheerleaders.

Alexia that sounds like a great plan. Although I am sure that you will have a baby or at least a big bump by 2018!

Vi really sorry to hear of your difficulties. We're all here if you need to rant/cry/talk etc.

Jam the ginger pig thing sounds great. And very nice of you to be so pragmatic about just letting him go out and have a good time. it'll be better for your stress levels to just let him get on with it from tine to time maybe!

Went out for dinner tonight. Had most incredible strawberry daquiri. Naughty in the tww but I thought if I get another bfn I'll be annoyed I missed out on it! I have thrush. Mildly, but I have not had it in 10 years! And my boobs won't fit in my bra. And they're veiny. And no spotting! And I've woken up at 4.30 for a wee every night this week and then not been able to sleep. But still bfn at 10 DPO!

ViSovari · 24/02/2017 22:16

Thanks everyone :) had a good cry again earlier about nothing at all. But I feel very relieved to see there's something in my tests that confirms there's something wrong. I was starting to think I was going a bit insane.
No word on the gynae appointment, info have private healthcare with work but I think this strays too far into fertility treatment to be covered.

I've not thought about a medicated clomid
Cycle, it scares me a bit! I've resigned myself to having to ttc for longer than normal so to go straight to medicated after 6 months feels a bit fast. BUT in a years time I know illl wish I had started sooner

Why is this shit so hard!!!!

Kathrino · 24/02/2017 22:33

That sounds so hard Vi. It might be worth having a chat with your GP re private healthcare. PCOS is a medical condition in its own right and I'm sure they can suggest a way to phrase the referral without mentioning TTC so that the insurance people will be happy to pay. Good luck either way though, lots of virtual wine and chocolate to you Flowers

Flash, sounds very promising!! I might drag DH out for cocktails tomorrow, love a strawberry daiquiri.

Jam, hope you've had a lovely and chilled out evening tonight and have a stress-free weekend.

Gaelach, hate it when that happens! I really liked the name Charlotte and was so pissed off when Kate and William used it!

SmittenPears · 24/02/2017 22:38

Hi everyone -- sorry to be quiet, but I am following all the goings-on. I'm a grad student and I'm trying to get a lot of writing done this week.

I am so sorry for the relationship stresses that have been going on for many of us! I am sending good vibes. I have experienced the kind of sudden "why are we even doing this?" reaction from OH, and know how stressful it is. I agree with previous posters that men really seem to process things differently than us.

If I have any wisdom to share from nearly 10 years of marriage (when did that happen??) I think it is this: TTC, like other major life moments, happens right in the midst of life. It's messy and imperfect, like we are, and like life is. We aren't going to get it right. We can only try to be as gentle on ourselves and on one another as possible, because life won't spare the knocks.

Sending everyone good vibes, for wherever in the cycle and wherever in this journey you are. Flowers Cake

Flashinthepan · 25/02/2017 07:53

Bfn. Boobs not as sore. Feeling a bit crampy. Witch on schedule for tomorrow methinks. Next cycle no chance as will be away in fw for work. Probably will take a step back as obviously cannot stay cool and calm.

Tonks87 · 25/02/2017 08:53

Thank you for you're lovely words of encouragement Alexia and Flash.
*
Flash* I'm so sorry about the BFN and change in symptoms. I really hope you're wrong - you're not out yet.

Gaelach · 25/02/2017 09:47

Bfn here too. I'm gutted. On to cycle 8 then as soon as AF shows, which I'd say will be tomorrow. Sad this is so unfair.

Pyjamas81 · 25/02/2017 10:46

Have just had a chance to catch up a bit - sorry to see news of BFNs and problems with DHs ☹️ jam - glad to see your DH is now seeing sense.

On CD17 now so reckon I must be in TWW by now - going to carry on with EOD for just a bit longer though. We're staying in a hotel tonight and I love HS in hotels so why not! Will cut it down to HS every three days after this weekend I think just so we can have a bit of a rest.

Kathrino · 25/02/2017 11:19

So sorry for the BFNs this morning. Thinking of you both Flowers

Kaydee2017 · 25/02/2017 11:41

Sorry for the BFNs flash & gaelach Flowers

Snap pyjamas! HS last night & think I must be in TWW now but will go again tomorrow just in case!!

LSFX all!!

Londonjam · 25/02/2017 11:42

Hello smitten wise words. Good luck getting all your writing done.

Sorry about the BFNs - but you are not out until you're out.

Flash don't chide yourself for getting your hopes up hon. I got mine terribly up last month, was almost convinced and got really excited. It's an awful bump back to earth if your period comes. But it's so so so so easy to get your hopes up. Our poor brains want this so much, and what do we have if we don't have hope? We will get there 🌸🌼

Londonjam · 25/02/2017 11:43

Pyjamas enjoy your hotel stay! 😉

AlexiaB · 25/02/2017 13:56

Vi I guess it depends how old you are and how much of a rush/how desperate you are to be pregnant? It sounds like it's already making you hugely emotional though which is completely understandable. I suggested Clomid to help you get some control back. Google it for further info (and metformin) but Clomid will make you produce more eggs = more chances of conception each cycle, you'll O every cycle and should have nice normal length cycles. There are obviously some side effects but I've been taking fertility meds for 5 cycles now and have O'd between CD12-CD16 and find it very comforting.

Sorry about the BFN Gaelach and Flash Flowers Please don't beat yourself up for having hope this cycle. It happens to us all, how can you not get carried away when you want it so much? Fx it's still too early ladies.

pyjamas enjoy the hotel sex WinkWine

Kaydee woohoo I'm joining you and pjs in the tww! I got a lovely temp rise this morn which means I'm 1dpo today. I O'd a few days later this cycle due to illness and only got one well timed BD in but who knows what will happen. LSFX!!!

ViSovari · 25/02/2017 15:08

Thanks alexia I really appreciate your support and advice. I think i need some control over ovulation so I'll chat with the gynae!

Sorry for all the BFNs this morning!

Me and my dh had an impromptu GOS and sorry for TMI but it either prompted AF (yaaay!) or I've started bleeding after, which NEVER happens. I hope it is AF though because that means we are onto a new cycle and a new chance :)

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend with lovely plans, I'm off jeans shopping and then baking cookies!

AlexiaB · 25/02/2017 18:01

I think that's a good plan Vi. It's best to go in to the appointment prepared and with a list of questions/concerns you have. Hope this is finally AF so you can start over! (there's no TMI here either). I now want cookies Grin

KerryLeanne84 · 25/02/2017 18:26

Hey everyone! Hope you're all okay. Checking in on day 18 - AF is due March 7th so starting to ease off the trying now, but I'll probably try once more tomorrow before going back to having sex whenever we actually feel like it! Wink

We've been having sex every other day including one time when my other half had been out to watch the football after work and came back smelling like a pub. Hmm I stopped drinking in october to aid TTC and my hubby has cut down a lot but still sometimes does drink more in one night than is probably wise.

I have been using the one-step ovulation dipper tests this month but not sure I was using them properly as I never got a positive (I could have not ovulated of course). It probably doesn't help that I guzzle water like it's going out of fashion. Any tips for using them?

KerryLeanne84 · 25/02/2017 18:34

Forgot to say - it's now two years since I came off the pill. I planned to start trying straight after we got married (I'd just turned 30) and the dr I went to see was like, there's no rush, you're so young (AH HA) so I waited a bit (I also felt a bit apprehensive!). I came off the pill at the end of Feb because I was planning to fly in September (AH HA).

So funny now to think I took that pill religiously for so long. I doubt I'll ever take it again.

Flashinthepan · 25/02/2017 22:40

Af arrived so definitely out. And a day early so 10 day lp. Not good. Have got my new b 50 mega complex so hopefully that will lengthen my lp as well as stopping the spotting. Otherwise got appointment with gynae end of April.

Sounds like some excellent GOS with dh Kerry. FXLS.

Sorry about the bfn gaelach but maybe still a chance for you.

Kathrino · 25/02/2017 23:10

I'm sorry Flash Flowers

Londonjam · 25/02/2017 23:54

Kerry around ovulation I use three OPK tests a day to catch it. Maybe you aren't using them frequently enough?

Massive hug from me flash it'll only be a week or so and you'll have another chance to go again.
