Thread 26. TTC #1 - Calm as a hysterical cucumber

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Yay alexia that opk is perfect! You're right - I'm not in FW yet so it's fine I missed last night - was hoping to stick to EOD throughout but whatever.

jam this is so exciting! Why is your DH stressed - is he not sure about what you're buying or just the commitment in general? It will be so worth it.

P.S. jam don't envy you, final stages of house-buying is tense - sounds like you're doing the right thing re discussing, reassuring and focusing on the end result. Not sure what the sellers' situation is, but presumably you're far enough down the track to buy a little goodwill from them - I remember pushing back on being rushed to complete, was just making a stressful process unnecessarily worse. Easier said than done, I know - hope you get to enjoy such a big step soon!

harriet no not a doctor, not for people anyway love medical stuff though and my brain just understands all that stuff easily.

jam house buying is always such a stress, having been on both sides of the fence selling and buying I can't say I enjoyed any of it but it's so worth it once it all goes though!

Jam, hope you and DH are okay. The last stage of house buying is so stressful, there's always something that throws the whole thing into chaos but it's almost always fine in the end. Also, I skip the conception vitamins every few days and just take folic acid because I find they have make me a little sluggish in the lavatory department.

Blank OPK here and no EWCM in evidence today. Zero idea when (if?) I ovulated. Oh well, not much I can do now other than clear my diary for next week and see you all on the beach 🍹

Post earlier has gone awol 🤔 Thank you everyone for the nice comments-Glitter- thank you especially for such a detailed response. I haven't got a GP appointment yet as am supposed to see them after my scan, and the blood results themselves don't probably indicate anything anyway. My DH has a friend who is a gynaecologist so trying to get some knowledge in the meantime. What's weird is my testosterone etc were low end of normal, which with no signs/symptoms of PCOS (except longer cycles) makes me think it's not that. Hmmm, need to get this scan rebooked!

Oh dear alexia re: DH and not HS yesterday 😞 Good luck with surging today and a GOS. Also, that FF post is super inspiring- there is always hope!

Feeling slightly better - mainly because I gave DH my work phone and I'm not letting myself look at it. Having an early night tonight, just to sleep, bliss!

jam hope all gets sorted with the mahoosive task of house buying and you DH becomes more relaxed about it. My DH was the polar opposite kind of, we just went out and bought the first house we saw and then like a month later her was like OMG what have we done, we bought a house and didn't really think about it etc etc etc lol I was like well it's done now we can't really go back, they don't do returns...

Ladies I just got a second pink line on an opk. Very pale. But definitely pink. I'm 9 DPO. Bleeding stopped last night. Had cramps in the night. Thought id wake up af but no. Dont know what to think. I peed on the opk as I have nothing else!

I know it's a squinter.

Just booking my flight to Seychelles. I'll get the first round.

CD15 now & (maybe over) half way through FW & impatiently waiting to feel ov pains! Have HS on CDs 10, 11, 13 & 14, hoping for Friday (CD16) & Sunday (CD18) just to make sure we're covered!!

Flash I got a strong line on an OPK at 11dpo, got myself all excited and then next day AF arrived. Hopefully it is a good sign for you but it wasn't for me 😒 I think we have varying amounts of LH in our systems all cycle

I'm only 9 DPO so should I buy a frer and wait until Saturday? I'm due af on Sunday.

pass I completely agree and totally appreciate the realism. I haven't had a POS opk during 2ww before, except last time I got a bfp, but as hormones might be all over the place it could definitely be false hope.

Ah well if you've had one before and had a BFP then that is exciting!! I would try and hold out for a few more days though and hopefully you'll get a nice strong line on a FRER

Yes I think I will wait and test on Sat, its still the day before AF but hopefully would be positive by then, if the OPK is a real positive.

Thanks for property buying support girls. This thread is multifaceted 😬 We didn't end up talking about it too much as there is some missing information we need so were going round in circles a bit. What did make me 🙄 was he had promised to make three phone calls yesterday - one to the bank, one to the fertility hospital to make his SA appointment and one to the vet. The only one he did was the vet! Him and that bloody cat.

harriet he struggles with big decisions. To be fair to him he is dealing with two of the biggest in life - starting a family and buying property. So he's doing well really.

I think LH fluctuates throughout cycle flash so I don't think you can hang your hat on it. If I were you I'd try and hold out until the weekend and try a FRER. If you need to before then go ahead! LSFX

missy we only looked at four properties and DH doesn't think it was enough.. he also didn't organise a single viewing however! I hope you didn't regret your purchase ?!! Sorry about AF and hope your anxiety settles down. Pre-AF hormones make me anxious every month so hopefully you'll feel calmer as the progesterone subsides.
