Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

Here's our Grad's Thread. May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Apropos of nothing just saw Kathrino and Pyjamas' chat about working in the same place ... until September last year I think I worked for exactly the same company :) Broad reach across the world, 3 letters and you'd get precisely bugger all done with no internet or email, though that is common of many workplaces these days.

I left to go work for a videogame company :) DH appreciates the free games!! I do miss the folks I used to work with though.

Wishing all you ladies the best of luck! We all want more company on the grad thread. :) Am 16 weeks tomorrow now and sporting a proper bump, though I'm still at the 'are you sure you didn't just eat all the pies?' kind of phase ...

AlexiaB · 18/02/2017 14:44

Hey girls, sorry I've been awol. I've been trying to read along as much as possible. Had a lovely 5 days with my family, then went to Jack Whitehall with DH and caught a nasty cold! Second day in bed today sneezing like crazy and blowing my nose every 2 mins. Ugh! Couldn't HS last night as I fell asleep really early and we tried this morning but it just wasn't happening. I'm CD10 so need to get a move on!

Love the new acronyms girls! I was guilty of using BD but only because that's the abbreviation on FF - I should add that I only ever pronounced it as 'Bee Dee' lol

So sorry about AF Hep and EJ Flowers

Hurrah for a GOS Jam! I'm with you re. other people's babies. I just want my own now too! It's lovely that you worked in an orphanage.

pyjamas hope you're feeling better and enjoy the baby cuddles. So funny you and Kath work at the same place!

Kathrino great news everything is absolutely fine with you. I've heard mixed reviews re. morph. For some people it doesn't seem to be much of an issue but others need IVF. It's good you're not in a rush due to good egg reserve though. Hope your DH is ok Flowers

Good luck for your scan FXSkip

Vi so sorry your cycles are so long. I suffered 2 long anovulatory cycles after my mc and through sheer desperation got Femara from my MIL in America. You can't get that in the UK and I don't particularly like the alternative (Clomid). Do you have PCOS? If so I've seen metformin and Clomid work effectively for UK women on FF. Long term TTC is frustrating enough without having to deal with irregular, messed up cycles so I really do feel your pain. I'm glad you've been referred and that they're doing bloods. My advice would be push for fertility meds.

Kaydee whoop for GOS! We're cycle buddies.

Carley absolutely amazing effort! I'm worn out just reading that Grin

macs really hope AF stays away! Glad your brother is doing better.

Welcome Zeb - fellow 91 baby! Go catch that egg!

Good luck Geeup, keep us updated.

Hope you're ok Peaches, Skipper, Binky and anyone else I've forgotten. Still thinking of you kwick xx

Lovely to 'see' you Alexia - comedy sounds like just the ticket, sorry to hear you're also poorly 🤧

Ha ha also suspect me and kath also share the same name as well as the same workplace - and so funny that you worked there also kavanaugh! Your new job sounds way cooler 😀

Baby cuddles were great today - he was so so tiny!

Kathrino · 18/02/2017 15:15

Pyjamas, next time I'm in a meeting with another Kath-variation, I will drop in some thread acronyms to see if it's you!

Kav, too funny you used to work there too. I agree that your new job sounds way cooler. Lovely to hear from you though and how exciting to hear about your bump!

Sorry you're feeling rough Alexia, I hope your recover in time for some serious shaggjng next week.

Welcome zeb, happy anniversary!

Carley, your commitment to SWI is very impressive! Hope your positive OPK is on its way very soon.

Vi, it's good that you're being referred and they're taking it seriously. Hoping they can find some answers for you.

DH is feeling a bit sorry for himself today but we've planned a low key afternoon/evening which will help I hope. He did only have one beer last nigh and was home by 7.30 which I was impressed/touched by.

Pyjamas81 · 18/02/2017 15:56

Ha ha kath - that would be hilarious! V impressed your DH stuck to the one beer last night. It must be quite a shock to the system realising that they have to make some changes too. My DH has been off the booze and caffeine, have to say, he's looking a lot better!

Musicgrrl · 18/02/2017 16:43

Hi guys - can I jump on the same workplace waggon please?? Although I left 15 months ago now and work for the government. Less money but for fewer hours of my life which I am enjoying Smile One of my friends whatsapped me to say that the systems were all down which is what made me twig with your posts! Lots of love to all!

Pyjamas81 · 18/02/2017 17:57

Amazing - we're literally everywhere!!

SmittenPears · 18/02/2017 18:46

Kathrino, hope your DH is feeling better. And hope everyone's having/had a nice Saturday.

Lots of GOSing going on here; I think o is due tomorrow/Monday but I'll see what the OPKs tell me. Hoping to go skating this weekend too -- a favourite activity of ours :)

I bought a pineapple but so far I've been too lazy to tackle cutting in to it...!!

harrietm87 · 18/02/2017 19:05

I think I know where you all work...accountancy (and other things) by any chance??

Love HS instead of dtd - shorter and better!

I'm having a relaxed weekend (didn't make parkrun jam...) and back to diet, exercise, opks and lots of HS on Monday. I've been doing a lot of googling (probably bad) and going to start taking baby aspirin and vitamin D as well as B complex this cycle. Just hoping I go back to normal after mc. Bleeding now stopped and feel fine so fingers crossed for the mythical post-mc fertility!

Londonjam · 18/02/2017 19:07

What! There's more of you from this company ?!

Hello grads hope you are all getting on well! Really hope more of us can join you soon. How did Nicky get on by the way - I feel like I haven't heard from her for ages, and she was a fellow long term ttcer I think.

Sorry you've been poorly too alexia hope you're all better for fw

That's great your DHs are both making changes pj kath - I think the message is slowly getting through to mine too. We're meeting some friends later so will see how strong his resolve is...

Londonjam · 18/02/2017 19:10

Harriet sounds like you are doing so well, you are admirably strong. I didn't make Parkrun either but I did have a run Friday evening and really enjoyed it. Are you taking those supplements as well as an all in one conception tablet? I've thought about taking more but I take boots conception pills and worried if I take more on top it might be too much.

Kathrino · 18/02/2017 19:13

That's the one harriet (or at least the one I'm talking about!). So funny that music is also one of our alumni. There's clearly something in the water there ;)

Glad you're feeling positive harriet and wishing you lots of luck for this cycle. I can't see any harm in Vit D and baby aspirin so FX they do they trick for you.

Have a lovely evening with your friends Jam and I hope your DH only has a drink or two.

Good work on the GOSing smitten. I've not been skating for years and years but sounds like a fun way to spend the weekend.

SmittenPears · 18/02/2017 19:15

PS Zeb, welcome -- we're close in testing dates! I think I'll be testing on 7th March, if AF doesn't show up.

harrietm87 · 18/02/2017 19:15

Hi jam I don't know yet. Up till now I've been taking omega 3, folic acid and b complex separately. Might check out the multivitamins but suspect would need to get baby aspirin separately. Apparently in small doses taken daily (81mg - hence baby aspirin) aspirin increases blood flow to uterus and increases thickness of uterine lining, and in a study in the US they found it increased chances of conception and successful pregnancies by just under 20% - how did I not know this!

Tonks87 · 18/02/2017 19:19

I also work for a very large company whose name is 3 letters. Our IT systems were (apart from being their usual frustratingly slow self) were fine. Maybe just a coincidence for me! I live in the north.

I'm not yet caught up but I hope everyone is ok and enjoying the weekend.

InspectorPenguin · 18/02/2017 19:31

I am a fellow alumni, people!
I qualified there in 2002-2005 but left shortly after and continued my career in industry.

Small world!

kavanaughkj · 18/02/2017 19:41

Hm. I'm thinking I possibly worked for Tonks's company not the other - I know which Harriet and the others are referring to now and I never wanted to work in practice! Have always been in industry personally - and while the company I worked for of course had an accountancy department that wasn't their reason for being.

You guys are cleverer than me! I wasn't sure I'd have been up to working there - though the hours I'm doing these days are probably comparable!

Think ;) (will mean something to anybody from the company I worked for - and that's where I shut up on that topic)

I never knew that about baby aspirin Harriet - you'd think it would be more common knowledge!

SmittenPears · 18/02/2017 19:44

Anyone up for some OPK analysis? Do the two from today (2/18) look positive? Or not quite?

Kathrino · 18/02/2017 19:45

High five to another one of us! I always thought that I'd make my escape after qualifying like you Inspector, sadly I never quite managed it (and given that I've currently got a partner WhatsApp-ing me about some work at 7.45pm on a Saturday night, it's looking like more and more of a foolish decision...)

AlexiaB · 18/02/2017 19:47

Harriet I've been taking baby aspirin for 2 cycles now. The UK 'baby' dose is 75mg but I read the same report you did. I'd seen loads of women on FF prescribed it so I did some research. I take the Pregna-Plan prenatal, Omega 3, B complex and baby aspirin.

I still feel awful. DH has had to order Pizza Hut as I'm in no state to cook and he's working. I won't complain lol 🍕

Wild guess but is this place PwC?

OP posts:
Kathrino · 18/02/2017 19:47

Ooh I think I know where you worked kav! I think my DH (who is also an accountant albeit elsewhere) used to have them as a client.

Smitten, neither look positive to me yet. Maybe tomorrow though?

AlexiaB · 18/02/2017 19:49

Not quite Smitten but you're getting there!

Peaches8Posies · 18/02/2017 20:22

Found you! Wow! Love how busy the thread has become again 😊

Need to properly catch up.

Glad your tests went well kath. Sorry to hear there has been hard times with DH/OH'S. I can't believe we had kath and kwick in the same building now we have soo many in the same employment. Love when the world randomly brings people together like this. Smile. Especially when we are all sharing this journey together.

harriet glad you are feeling stronger. I have read a lot about baby asprin, some studies show a big difference some not at all. But the general consensus I found from my reading was it won't do any harm so always worth a try. There were lots of positive success stories and I hope yours and alexias are too. Folic acid also helps with blood circulation to the uterus (apparently) so it may be worth chatting to your gp about getting a prescription for high strength Folic acid too?

alexia how have you been? Have you spoken to anyone in RL? glad you are feeling strong again and are back here with us.

Have enjoyed my chilled out cycle. Fx it's been successful. AF due about now if my guesstimate on OV was right. Have cramps but nothing else to report.

kwick if you are lurking I hope you are getting lots of TLC and you are being kind to yourself. You have been in my thoughts.

kav i can't believe you are 16 wks! Hope it has went quickly and you are well. Yeh to being nearly half way to meeting your little one Smile.

Hope everyone is well, I'm loaded with a horrible head cold so will read back once it clears a little bit.

Kaydee2017 · 18/02/2017 20:32

Hope everyone is having a nice chilled Saturday evening - having a sneaky bottle of beer with DH Grin

SmittenPears · 19/02/2017 01:00

Just enjoyed my last wine before the TWW begins... mmm... Wine
