I'm having reflexology too flora my masseuse is training so I'm being a case study and getting treatments cheaply, had 3 so far. I don't have caffeine and drink maybe a bottle of wine once a month over 2 nights at the moment. At least when you're doing everything you know you've done your best when AF arrives! Hope this FW doesn't drag to badly Grin

Hey guys!

Not long back from my GP and pleased to say it was a really positive experience! Iv recently moved so dont really know my new gps but the one i got was soo lovely, reassuring and understanding.

Basically reassured me that 11 years on the pill is a very long time so there is a chance my body could still be adjusting even though i came off the pill in June and had a few irratic cycles since, Then she went through all the possible tests we can do to double check everything is fine and in working order and the time frame we would do them in. Reassured me that even though i haven't had a period since December i can still get pregnant as i can still be ovulating which is good to hear as i didnt think anything would happen until AF arrives.

So plan from today is tomorrow I am to go back to the nurse clinic to basically get an MOT and various blood tests done then make another appointment with the same GP to discuss the results and what to do next :) so over the moon at how it went i was sitting in the waiting room feeling sick thinking whoever it would be would just turn around and say come back when its been a year.

If there was a tripadvisor for GPs she would get all the stars! :)

Hope everyone else thats seeing their gp has a similar experience as me! xx

Hi everyone, sorry I've been quiet for a while - last month really destroyed me and I needed some space for a bit :( anyway, onwards and upwards!

Have been using digit cb opk and determined to track it this month. So far they've been negative but I have a cycle average of 32 so technically should be tomorrow onwards. Fingers crossed! Sorry to everyone af got :( and I don't see the problem with enjoying a drink - the menfolk need to stand down!!

kiwi and flora FlowersFlowers

kitty your appointment sounds really positive, that's great. I want to go to your Gp!

pjs get well soonFlowers

jene that's really helpful, did you have a scan?

Af still hasn't arrived, cd33. I can feel it, right on the verge, just wish it would hurry upAngry

I'm also at the last straw so I have booked a private fertility MOT at Care - anyone used them? I have booked in for cd8 which should be next friday, for an internal scan (what is this?) and bloods. Then DH will get sperm analysis. I am sick of waiting. It's £530 (ouch) but if gp starts tests on Monday then I might postpone this private one (but I doubt my gp will do anything, as always). Anyone who has already started tests, what should I be looking for? Amh levels (how many eggs left) is the only one I know, I will do some proper research tonight so I'm all clued up for the appointment

Flowers for you too Eva. Know how frustrated you will be feeling.

Not heard of Care before but had a google and there isn't one in our area - we are in Scotland - but sure that all of these clinics will do a good job and be sensitive to what you are going through.

Let us know how you get on in your research!

Looks like some of you have good gps. I have no idea who is a good one at mine guess we will see if we get to that point.

My OH on the other hand went lets try everyday (!) not sure either of us could do that. He then said okay not everyday once a week it can be a BJ. Men eh!!! Af is still in the building but I think she'll have peed off tomorrow. Cd3 today so not bad.

Hopefully you get the answers you want eva. Fx for you.

Oh no pjs and blanket hope you both feel better soon.

Thanks flora I need to look up reviews too, after hearing about that panorama programme on fertility clinics I really need to watch it!
basset everyday! Woah, I would manage about 3 days before I gave up on that haha.

Cd34 and still no AF Angry this is now my longest cycle in the last year (still blaming that damn Pregnacare) If she doesn't come today I'm going to buy a frer to do tomorrow but I'm 99% sure it'll be a BFN.

Happy Friday everyone! I'm really looking forward to this weekend, seeing some Uni friendsWineGrin

Rising from the dead 💀 from sick bed finally! I'm still an attractive snot-ridden flaky nosed nightmare (attractive) but at least I don't feel like drilling a hole in my head to relieve the pressure. FW starts today and reminds me of the Friends episode where Monica has the flu and tries to seduce Chandler 😂

How annoying Eva! Glad you've got a back up plan through private tests - I felt the same way, felt like if I stuck with NHS I'd be going through menopause before anything happened and I just wanted answers. I had my progesterone levels done at GP though (to confirm I had ovulated), GP then told me that AMH test wasn't available through NHS so had that done at private clinic (about £70), then me and DH went to private tests together which included internal ultrasound for me (to check things like lining and follicle count which is another measure of egg reserve) and DH had his sperm analysis. All results were given to us and talked through immediately after and cost about the same as yours.

As I had appendicitis as a child they said I should also have an HSG as a precaution to check whether operation damaged my tubes - that cost an extra £580ish.

Wow basset every day! We dtd everyday for four days last cycle and it was way too much for us so hats off to you!

We're going to dtd EOD starting today (we've had a two day break) and now going for a bit longer after FW in case being ill delays my ov this cycle.

kiwi17 · 17/02/2017 11:04

Just had my first ever smiley face on cb opk!! Haha milestones... Luckily we dtd last night and this morning so fingers crossed we finally got it right! Turns out I ovulate later than I'd thought so could explain why we've been unsuccessful so far. Hope gp visits go well - fx

Thats good kiwi. Looks like you are gearing up for ovulation.

Glad your feeling better pjs. I still dont know if we can/are doing it every day yet. Don't want to burn out. Still waiting for af to vacate, hopefully she'll be gone tomorrow and we can start dtd. Although I did make a purchase on boux avenue yesterday to get some new sexy undies in the hope of stopping the dtd from getting mundane. We will see.

Good work on the sexy undies basset - you're right, it can get pretty mundane. DH came home with some new toys which made last night a bit more interesting 😉

Still feel pretty grim although I think it's because I've just woken up - this bug really did knock me for six! I'm meeting my friend, her DH and her two kids (the youngest was born in December) for brunch (I have warned her about my bug for fear of passing onto baby). Hopefully I won't feel too shit - I haven't left the house for two days!

Which CB digi are you using kiwi? Was it a flashing or smiley face? Any kind of face is good news though!

Report
kiwi17 · 18/02/2017 08:50

It is just a clear blue digital opk. It doesn't seem to have flashing as an option? It was just an empty circle, then yesterday a static smiley face and this morning no smiley face again :( does that mean its happened? I thought you were supposed to get a couple of days of smiley! At least we dtd Thurs eve and yesterday morning and eve so hope if that was it we've done enough! Hope you feel better today :)

Kaydee2017 · 18/02/2017 12:32

Flowers Eva, hope your GP can book some things in, then even if you have to go private for some, it should be less?

Basset Shockevery day?? The idea of 2 in a row next week is too much for me - hats off!! Fx it works though!! & the new purchase sounds like it will help Grin

LSFX kiwi - I don't do OPKs but I think the static means ovulation is imminent? 12-36 hours ish is the norm I think! Good DTD too!!

Glad you're back on it pyjamas!! And a rest day today (you're doing EOD aren't you?) should mean good things for tomorrow!!

I'm CD10 & we kicked off this cycle this morning Grin aiming for another 3 over the next 5 days then back to every other day for a few days, hopefully catch the egg!!

Eva30 · 18/02/2017 17:07

pjs was the hsg £580? Yikes it's all very expensive isn't it.

Toys and kinky underwear pjs and basset - the DHs are in for a good time this weekend!!

Thanks kaydee
kiwi sounding good for ov

AF finally arrived today. Means I need to move clinic appointment to next Monday so it will be cd10 for tests. Still have GP app on Monday.
Bad thing is it means next AF is due on the first day of my beach holiday, FML Angry
I'm having a few wines tonight with friends and just happy AF finally arrived (PMA)Wine

Report
Pyjamas81 · 18/02/2017 18:06

Ah right kiwi - there are 3 types of CB digi opks - ones which just tell you whether you're at your peak (static smiley) or not (blank circle) or the ones which tell you not fertile (blank circle), then high fertility days (flashing smiley) then peak (static). Once you get the static, you're meant to stop testing as it assumes you'll be at peak for two days. If you use it again, it goes back to low fertility because it thinks you've started the next cycle and is using that LH level as the baseline. I think that's how it works anyway!

Yep kaydee - rest day today and back on it tomorrow. I am so much more chilled this cycle without the temping and opks!

Sorry to hear about AF Eva - sounds like you have a fun night planned though 😊 And yep, HSG alone cost about £580, but just wanted to get it done - I'm not very patient so if there's even one thing I can take control of in this infuriatingly uncontrollable process and make happen quicker, I will!

Pjs I'm so glad to hear you're in the primbe of limbe! Hope your lunch went well too!

I have one day left of antibiotics but still feeling like a bag of crap. Still managed to dtd every other day though, determination and all that.

Sorry to hear about the AFs, Wineon the menu tonight!

Got some friends popping round who we haven't seen much since they moved so that should be fun.

Loving 'catch the egg' Kaydee, that line will keep me laughing over Easter

FX kiwi! One of my friends was unsuccessful for almost a year because she was getting her fw dates wrong and now she's got a gorgeous little baby!

Ah thanks pjs oops that's probably what happened - feel like we should have dtd today as well now but dh is away tonight... Eek oh well will just have to hope we did enough and try tomorrow as well! Can't believe how expensive the testing all is.. Seems really unfair

Report
Piehunter · 18/02/2017 20:06

kiwi it only takes the one! Sounds like you got it covered to me Smile most testing is available from NHS just a longer wait but things like HSG are available.

blanket hats off to you managing EOD despite horrible kidney infection!

pj's sounds like you're over the worst of it, it's taken my mum 2 weeks to get over a really nasty virus, be kind to yourself Flowers

Eva glad AF arrived, but crappity crap for the timing Angry

kaydee sounds like a plan, get egg hunting! (seasonal reference? I don't even know when easter is this year. But I have already eaten an easter egg...)

basset nice job on the underwear, anything to bring some kind of sexyness to ttc sex is a bonus Grin

I'm 6dpo and can't bear water as it tastes sooo metallic, thought it was our water but DH says it's not.. Ofc Google tells me it's a sign of pregnancy... Hmm IT'S TOO EARLY!

Glad the relaxed cycle is working for you pyjamas!!

Eva
that is the worst luck about next AF Flowers

Blanket that is a heroic DTD effort too Grin

The egg thing wasn't actually a seasonal reference but has now made me want an Easter egg Grin

Pie, not to get your hopes up, but I have heard about the water thing before!!

Sneaky bottle of beer with DH tonight, happy Saturday evening all Wine

Nooo kaydee you can't take the crazy brain side! Further googling reveals this can be a really really early symptom around implantation, but probably for the same people who start being sick 3dpo Hmm I wish it was more easy to ignore but it tastes like I'm chewing tin foil Envy since I ate dinner it's been constant not just when I'm drinking. Probably the latest in a line of pre-Af headfucks!

thanks ladies!

I got my blood tests done on Friday and I have to go back to my gp this coming friday to discuss results and what to do next. Half of me is hoping nothing is wrong but then that would leave me frustrated wondering where my period has went! other half is hoping they find something so we can fix it.

eva hope your fetility mot goes well on friday!

Pie ooh keep us up to date if you have any other symptoms! i know its early days but to me metallic taste is a big one.

pjs hope your feeling better soon! theres so many people i know with a cold/flu bug just now i have managed to dodge it so far!.

Over the weekend I was at a baby shower and there was a few heavily pregnant girls there. One in particular told me how she was told at an early age she couldn't conceive but then finally got pregnant naturally only for it to be an etopic pregnancy which results in a fallopeon tube needing to be surgically removed. She gave up all hope of every falling pregnant and now is about to give birth in April :) she was such a lovely positive bubbly girl who said she just never ever gave up hoping.
