Basset I think the concern is more that the tests results may show something that would upset you and in that instance it is important to remember that they are not as detailed as tests your DH would get at the Docs or clinic. I do think that it is brilliant that your DH is as engaged in the process as you.

Kitty glad AF has shown up on her own this time! OPKs are a good idea but try not to get too stressed out if you are just getting negatives for days on end because you know that your cycles are longer.

Congratulations on your wedding Panda

Beauty could you have missed your surge using OPKs? Are your cycles regular?

LilSnooze · 10/05/2017 14:28

Thank you for all the welcomes :)

Kitty that's awesome that your AF reared her ugly head :D loads of sympathy for the period pain though! Nice warm bath helps as well! I've never used OPK's but I would assume starting 3-4 days after the end of AF would give you the best chance of hitting the window? I'm sure an expert will be along soon.

I bought some pregnancy vitamins today so it's all starting to feel quite real. Finally stopped bleeding today. Not holding out much hope for the next few cycles as I've only just come off of the pill, but it feels nice to be being proactive!

FairyAnn · 11/05/2017 06:30

Hi Snooze, I was in your shoes a couple of months ago, I think I'm on regular cycles now. God, I'd forgotten how much natural periods hurt!

If you don't mind me being nosy, how long were you on the pill for? (Sorry I've you've said and I missed it) I was on for about 15 years, give or take, with 'periods' each month

Eva30 · 11/05/2017 08:33

Can anyone see a line? I can only see something when I hold it up to the light (like a true crazy woman). 9dpo (I know, naughty Eva)

First time TTC - thread 6
FairyAnn · 11/05/2017 13:08

I think I can see a white space where the second line could be, but that's it, sorry

DancingUnicorn · 11/05/2017 13:21

Eva I think I can see a shadow, but I don't know if it's just caused by the light. I so want there to be something there for you!!

LilSnooze · 11/05/2017 17:18

Eva I definitely see a shadow on my screen!

FairyAnn I was only on the bcp for 2 months. We were using condoms before but decided to make the switch, then as soon as I started the pill we decide to TTC! Wish I'd never bloody started it, my withdrawal bleed has been 9 days long including the spotting today/yesterday Angry usually my periods are 3-4 days!! It's screwed me right up.

beautyisfoundwithin · 11/05/2017 17:41

I'm out. Day 1 cycle 8 Sad and unexplainably 5 days early.

So I guess I could have missed my surge flora? Im no expert with the OPKs but I'm normally regular. Always 32/33 days. So I did the first OPK on CD15 and did 10 days in a row. Thought that would have me covered. But I guess if my period has turned up 5 days early I could have ovulated earlier than I thought? This hasn't happened before so I don't know what's gone on.

I think I can see a shadow too Eva. Fx it gets stronger for you.

FairyAnn · 11/05/2017 17:49

Wow, nine days snooze? Mine have been about 2/3 days since I came off. I can't even remember what they were before I started the pill.

While I was on the pill, they were about 5 days give or take, so I think I'm back to my regular rhythm now.

Although last month's threw me for a loop as it only lasted a day Confused

florafoxtrot · 11/05/2017 18:32

Argh sorry Beauty - so was your cycle 27/28 days this month? If so you really may have missed the surge by starting testing on CD15 - remember that after you get a +OPK you can ovulate up to 36 hours later so it may have been positive on CD13/14 and then you ovulated CD14 and a 14 day LP. Sorry if you already said but are you using CB or cheapy OPKs? I've heard it said that you should test twice a day using the cheap ones as it's easy to miss it! Hope that helps and hope AF isn't too awful. Cake Flowers

beautyisfoundwithin · 11/05/2017 19:09

Yes cycle was 28 days this month. So I guess 4/5 days early but I say 5 cos I really wasn't expecting it for 5 days as it's been 33 days for a while. It's never been 28. Typical that it was the month that I tried the OPKs Angry Really annoyed that I may have missed it. I used CB ones but they aren't flashy/static smiley. It's just empty circle or smiley face.

Thank you Smile It does feel a bit more shit than usual, because I wasn't expecting it, well not today I mean. I literally saw it and shouted "Er, WHAT??!!" to myself in the bathroom!!

MoonlightMojitos · 11/05/2017 21:39

eva I can see something! I have everything crossed for you hun, have you tested again yet?

florafoxtrot · 11/05/2017 22:06

Do you have some tests left beauty? I'd maybe start using them around CD10 this month so you can be sure not to miss it! Is really annoying but a shorter cycle is no bad thing either! TTC involves a lot of waiting around.

Eva30 · 12/05/2017 06:32

I'm so sorry to mither you all again with a test pic but do you see anything in this one? This was this morning 10dpo. I swore I'd wait til Sunday buy you all know what its like - I can't think about anything else

First time TTC - thread 6
DancingUnicorn · 12/05/2017 07:18

Eva I can definitely see something there! And I'm crap with squinters!!

JeNeBaguetteRien · 12/05/2017 07:26

Yes Eva, I spy with my little eye... A second line! Those antibiotics look like they've worked on your OH!

Sorry Beauty, at least you can get AF over with and see how it goes this month.

FairyAnn · 12/05/2017 08:11

I couldn't see a line when looking using my phone Eva but I definitely see something now using my computer! Fingers crossed!

I lied everyone - I'm testing again. Wish I hadn't, these ovulation tests are just as fickle as my basal temp. I've taken two now and both negative, but Ovia is sure I'm ovulating now.

I've tried 'tracking symptoms' but I seem to have constant symptoms. Plus I've put on 2 and a half pounds which isn't related but just bummed me out this morning (having a whinge)

JeNeBaguetteRien · 12/05/2017 08:25

Fairy do what you need to do. Maybe with an occasional month of no testing but whatever makes you less stressed. DH wants to have a month off the Clearblue smiley faces!

Moonlight good to 'see' you! How's it going?

florafoxtrot · 12/05/2017 08:26

Congratulations Eva! That's definitely a BFP! What a month for you!

kirstyinnorway · 12/05/2017 09:16

I very very occasionally check back here and what a day to do so! YAY EVA! That's definitely a line! :) :) :)

Sorry for the unhappy/disappointing news for the ones of you I 'know' and those I don't - I know your time will come and by gosh you all deserve it.

Sending a squeeze from Norway. x

Eva30 · 12/05/2017 09:31

kirsty and mojitos its so nice to see you both - how are you both doing?? How far along are you now? I hope its all going as smooth as possible Smile

Thank you so much - it doesn't feel real. I'm going to buy some more tests tonight and carry on testing til it gets darker and I'm more convinced. I had a little cry in the car on the way to work I am so happy. I honestly just got to the stage where I'd given up home and thought it was never going to happen for us. Hang on in there, it'll happen when we least expect it Smile

Blissfulignorance · 12/05/2017 09:46

Congratulations Eva!! I can see that line with out my glasses on! I'm so bloody happy for you.

Great the hear from Kirsty and mojitos again, I hope you ladies are doing well and look gloriously pregnant.

Apologies for radio silence for the last month or so, had to say something to Eva 😁.

Still nothing in my corner..... as usual.

beautyisfoundwithin · 12/05/2017 10:24

Congratulations Eva!! I can see the line too! I'm so pleased for you. It's nice to hear about some happy tears Smile

No tests left flora but I'm definitely going to buy some more and will take your advice and start at CD10. If I don't get a positive again, how late should I keep on testing? Don't want to be pointlessly wasting tests (and money and hope!) after it's too late anyway.

Thanks Baguette. AF is normally 4/5 days so hoping there's no bizarre change there and I can focus on a new month.

Sorry you're having a frustrating time with it all Fairy.

kirstyinnorway · 12/05/2017 10:55

I'm 25 weeks now Eva, and am indeed looking "gloriously" fat pregnant bliss hahah! All going well thank you both. Eva, my line was like that (possibly even lighter) at 11 DPO and I think I continued to take a test every day for the next two weeks to keep checking. Try not to panic too much if the darkness of the line varies, mine did. I am just so happy for you and wishing you all the best for a happy healthy pregnancy.

florafoxtrot · 12/05/2017 11:27

Beauty - based on the fact you've had a 32 day cycle before I wouldn't "give up" until CD around day 20. Do the OPKs come in a pack of 10 anyway so that should work out? Hope that everything is OK and that is is just your cycles adjusting a bit. You could always temp too if you feel like you'd get some comfort from that?

Sorry to hear you are struggling Bliss and Fairy

CD13 here, EWCM and a flashing smiley on my OPK. Guessing it'll be solid tmrw and I've ovulate over the weekend - same as last month, and the months before and yet nothing happens. Hmm
