Glad things are still going well kaydee Smile

baguette sorry AF got you too, sounds like you're keeping positive Flowers the fake suspenders are remarkably resilient!!

blanketfort · 24/03/2017 19:15

Thanks for the good luck wishes all, the exams from hell are finally over!! 🙌🏻 until May at least 😒

AF unexpectedly turned up yesterday though, a week early and very this is absolutely mingling so sorry in advance clotty. Wondering if it's stress related or if my body thought 'hmm, I know how I can make this shitty week even worse...'

Either way the pain is bloody no pun intended crippling me so can't wait for this to be over so I can get back to it!

Do you reckon it would be worth opk-ing this month due to the week early unexpected (and flipping unprepared for) treat from af?

Pyjamas81 · 24/03/2017 19:55

Those look perfect pie - would cause so much less rage!!

Sorry about AF blanket - I would opk just to figure out what's what, especially if early AF has screwed up timings!

Just wanted to recommend the book below (starting doing some research) - it's absolutely bloody brilliant. It's written by a couple who went through three rounds of IVF with each stage having a chapter for his and hers perspectives. I got it yesterday and have already finished it! DH is reading it next ☺️

First time TTC - thread 6
florafoxtrot · 25/03/2017 08:06

Morning ladies, sorry I've been a bit absent this week - work has been absolutely MENTAL. But its been a really good distraction from TTC so I'm actually enjoying it.
Sorry for AF blanket - was that a really short cycle if she showed up early? Hope that the exams went well.
Sounding very positive JeNe - think that trying to come up with a new "initiative" every month is a good idea - I'm going to try preseed and raspberry leaf tea next month if required. Apologies for use of wanky work language!
Thanks for the recommendation PJs - for whatever reason I'm still resisting thinking about getting to that stage but I'm going to need to face up to it in the next few months for sure. Happily the Scottish Government announced yesterday that they will now fund an additional IVF cycle for Scottish couples (from 2 to 3) so felt like at least someone was acknowledging that its not always that easy.
Hope everyone else has a good weekend!

blanketfort · 25/03/2017 09:01

It made it a 20 day cycle flora and it's usually 27 ish days.

You're right pjs just I know what's happening if nothing else!

I went out last night with DH and had a fair amount of cocktails which I haven't done in forever. 'Twas bloody fab!!! And we didn't talk about ttc even once which honestly was a nice break!!!

Pyjamas81 · 25/03/2017 09:11

I love nights like that blanket - always such a relief to have some normality again!

Yeah I know the feeling flora - hopefully it's something you won't have to consider! Am on cycle 10 and DH and I agreed that if nothing happens by May - we'll push the IVF button. With my low AMH and age, that clock is almost deafening now!

Piehunter · 25/03/2017 09:19

flora that's fantastic that you'll be able to access 3 cycles if necessary. My area is just one... Which gives a 33% chance..

blanket perfect month for your cycle to be short if there's going to be one, where you know there's no chance rather than when you've thrown everything at it! Hopefully next month it'll have settled back down.

pj's a plan is good, some control in a v out of control part of life!!

AF has still not started properly, doing stop/start spotting which is irritating as this doesn't count in my usual 5/6 day period, so now I will still be bleeding, probably heavily, for bladdercam Envy < not envy...

Pyjamas81 · 25/03/2017 12:58

Oh how annoying pie! When's your bladdercam spot?

Just really went for it at the gym and feel great 😃 DH is away until tomorrow night and although I obviously love him lots. I'm looking forward to a weekend of solitude! Have got the paper, a magazine, a good book and I'm all set 👍🏼 I could catch up with some friends, but just feel like being a hermit. It's not often I get time completely to myself!

CD19 here so reckon I must be in TWW - 🤞🏼

Piehunter · 25/03/2017 14:18

It's OK, I spoke too soon and AF is here in full, horrendously painful, force! Bladdercam is Weds so hopefully it'll be tailing off by then, I hate catheterising on my period never mind someone wiggling a camera around up there :bleurgh:

Ahhh enjoy your me time pj's DH has been off work for weeks following surgery, he goes back next month and I'm looking forward to "normal" life resuming! The peace, the quiet... enjoy losing yourself in a book with some Cake...

Blissfulignorance · 26/03/2017 08:53

Sorry pie make sure you treat yourself.

Fingers crossed you won't have to push the button on ivf pjs. Some friends of ours told us the other day that they have started but we didn't discuss it.

And flora it lovely that you can be offered so many cycle but similarly I hope you won't need them.

Jene good luck with the sperm meets egg plan.

According to ff I'm now 3dpo we dtd for 5 days in a row covering ov. Now we wait.

bassetmum · 26/03/2017 10:11

So sorry pie. Loom after yourself. Those "suspenders" look good.

It's good you are getting prepared pjs. Fx thought that you wont need it. 😊. A weekend to yourself sounds like heaven I enjoyed my four days on my own.

Bliss that looks like good dtding.

Blanket so sorry the witch got you.

Well i don't think this month will be a success. We've dtd once and that was on thursday. cd12 today and I spent ages in just my towel hanging around the oh hinting at some fun this morning. However hes just now sat in front of the tv and told me to get dressed 😞. I promised that this month I wouldn't be all over him but didn't expect complete radio silence.

OP posts:
florafoxtrot · 26/03/2017 12:29

We are a month behind you PJs and it'll be a year in June. Hope it happens for both of us before then.
Sounds like you've had a nice peaceful weekend.
Glad you had a good night blanket it's nice to forget about all this stuff for a while!
Hope AF has stopped being such a bitch Pie and hope bladdercam goes ok.
Basset did you talk about what happened last month? Assuming things went ok on CD12?

JeNeBaguetteRien · 27/03/2017 13:32

Your night out sounds great Blanket.

Hope you and DH can reconnect Basset

Glad you have the option of 3 cycles Flora but hope it doesn't come to it. My area is one NHS cycle so hoping to have that before having to go private for any others (unless the wait is too long). For now just giving it everything for a few months. DH is loving all the action!

bassetmum · 27/03/2017 13:53

Baguette we did manage to "reconnect " which is good. I haven't even looked at ivf or other options yet.

How was everyone's weekends?

coastalchick · 27/03/2017 14:22

Hey

Can I join?

I don't know what the numbers mean - what is cd? and is cycle the number you are on after trying to conceive?

I'm 38 (39 in sept). My partner and I have been together almost 2.5 years and are about to buy a house together (in less than 3 weeks!!) We've been living together in my house (his is rented out now) for almost 2 years and have agreed that once we bought together we'd start TTC. Ideally we would've liked to get married first but we have decided to start trying cos of my age. One of those: was engaged to someone else, hit 30, he ran off with someone else, series of unsuitable/failed relationships until met current man. Wish I'd met him earlier but is how it is.

Came off pill in december but we haven't been trying because I had a really bad time with stress in 2014/15 and my hair started to fall out, had anxiety and panic attacks, acid reflux, ibs, depression etc and realised it was my job (was an attorney - litigation) so quit and took a bit of time off. Now working again in less stressful role and part-time. Partner said he didn't want to start trying until we knew for definite we had the house because he was worried about stress levels on me/baby.

So am due AF on friday (though had some spotting this morning) and then we will try after that!

It is super scary and I am worried that we won't manage it cos of my age!!!

bassetmum · 27/03/2017 16:27

Hi coastal. The basic acronyms we use are

Cd = cycle day cd 1 being the first day of your period
Dtd = doing the deed aka sex
Af = aunt flo aka period
Fx = fingers crossed
Dpo = days past ovulation
Opk = ovulation predictor kit
Hpt = home pregnancy test
Bfp = big fat positive
Bfn = big fat negative

Im sure there are more we use but can't remember Smile

KittyKat73 · 27/03/2017 20:41

Hey ladies!

Im on annual leave this week so havent had much chance to go on online but when i do im always catching up with how everyone is getting on!

Pie i had a look at those suspenders! definately look at less fiddily than the real ones haha! Hope your Bladdercam goes ok make sure to treat yourself afterwards. Kaydee thats so exciting! do you know when your first scan is? Jene Sounds like a good plan for this coming cycle! Blanket How are you getting on did you decide if you were going to OPK? Pjs Thats good to know about the book! may give it a wee read :) Enjoy your weekend i know what you mean as much as I love my partner its amazing to watch what i want on tv, chill out and laze doing whatever I want to do. Bliss FX for you! hopefully you got it all covered. Flora we are the same cycles we started TTC in June last year too. Hope work will be less stressful for you. Welcome Coastal FX for you on your upcoming cycle! how have your cycles been since coming off the pill?

Im CD 15 Havent really noticed any signs of ovulation yet. I have felt the odd "crampy" Pain that makes me think im going to start AF soon so thought that might be ovulation pain. Not looking too much into it since I know my cycles can be all over the place.

Eva30 · 27/03/2017 21:29

Hi everyone, just got back from hols today so haven't caught up yet. Had a great hol. But we went straight to our doctors apt for the chat about DHs sperm results and it wasn't good news. Basically his sperm "clump" together due to antibodies and my body will then treat them like a foreign invader and try to get rid of them. It is called "sperm agglutination". He has been given antibiotics, in case it is due to infection (but unlikely) and will do another sperm analysis in 3 weeks time. Feel pretty devastated but DH is obviously more devastated and concerned so I am trying my best to be optimistic and say things like "maybe they can give us something to help"... but having been to Dr Google it looks unlikely and that IVF is the next step. Will catch up properly tomorrow.

Eva30 · 27/03/2017 21:33

This is an article about it
www.babymed.com/blogs/richard-banks/what-sperm-agglutination

My cd21 progesterone results were good, as was the thyroid result.

Pyjamas81 · 27/03/2017 21:49

Sorry you and your DH got those results Eva - really hope they can sort it. I had a quick google and apparently vitamin C and zinc helps? May be worth a shot?

Hope you're both doing ok though - worrying results are always a shock to the system 🙁

JeNeBaguetteRien · 27/03/2017 22:22

Sorry the results will have been a bit of a shock Eva, I suppose at this point try to wait for the repeat SA and maybe you'll be referred quickly if you definitely need assistance. Glad you had a great holiday, maybe it was better to have the results after rather than overshadowing it.

Hope you get some signs of ov Kitty. My cousin has always felt hers (well she has always said it since we were teenagers with zero thoughts of TTC). I get so many twinges they could be anything.

Meant to wish you luck with bladder cam Pie, I've had similar tests done before, and regular catheterisation (not for a while now). Hope AF goes away a bit but if not the medical staff are used to it. I used to bring baby wipes to feel a bit less self-conscious if that helps.

Piehunter · 28/03/2017 00:03

Sorry results weren't good Eva, hopefully you can get next steps sorted Flowers

Welcome coastal

baguette thank you! I self catheterise and have done for a good few months now so hopefully from that point of view the cystoscopy shouldn't be too bad! I'm dreading the invasiveness of full urodynamics more to be honest, but no date for that yet. Period wise it's more that I get pretty bad period pain and I absolutely hate catheterising on my period as it hurts, I think everything is just angrier! Fully stocked with wipes in my handbag for cath purposes anyway and will definitely freshen up before hand! Smile

kitty do you normally ov later or is it really everywhere and unpredictable? Hopefully you'll get some sure signs to help!

florafoxtrot · 28/03/2017 09:48

Morning ladies, really sorry to hear about your hubby's SA Eva - I guess at least you are in the system now and hopefully they can do something to assist. Really hope you are ok though and looking after each other.
Hope bladdercam goes OK Pie

I'm 9dpo and definitely not feeling pregnant, had some cramps yesterday and a meltdown last night which probably implies that AF is mounting her broomstick. Really hate this time of the month as its all that I can think about and I really need to be focusing on other things!

bassetmum · 28/03/2017 10:14

Sorry to hear about the SA eva. Hopefully you'll get the answers you want soon. How are you both coping with the news?

Random question when dtd around ovulation does anyone else feel an ache in an ovary?? I had this on sunday night. I think today will be ovulation day as my left hip and glute is aching. Hopefully can dtd tonight too.

Flora you aren't out till the witch sings.

Pie fingers crossed your bladder cam goes well.
