Aw man, that sucks eva though you're so right about the phases of ttc, haha. I'm right in that "let's give it a good go" phase :p

Piehunter · 19/03/2017 20:31

Nooo Eva Sad so sorry, hope that you can enjoy your holiday and have some relaxed time away WineWineWine loving the stages of ttc.. It's like stages of grief but for babies/lack of babies.... Hmm

pj's totally get where you're coming from, it was almost a relief when I started spotting this month, like ahh well, gutting but at least the torture is cut short! I have maybe 7 days a month where I have some hope, but definitely wayyy more relaxed as I don't think it's happening- this is apparently the way to get preg so I'm told!! Like the fantom relaxing!

I am 4/5 dpo? According to ovia-no opk's for the last couple of months- spotting/bleeding stopped after 2 days 2-3dpo so wondering if I ov'd late if it was iv bleeding? and missed it all anyway this month (limited dtd, DH is still post op and we'd just moved house!) will see when AF turns up. Definite cyst activity this month and horrendous pelvic pain. Eating masses of pizza this eve and enjoying a cheeky glass of 🍷

Piehunter · 19/03/2017 20:32

loxy could definitely do with some of your enthusiasm, throw some my way in 3?ish weeks please! Grin

Pyjamas81 · 19/03/2017 20:41

That is totally what it's like Eva! I think I ov'd yesterday but have no way of really knowing, and it all feels a bit futile anyway! Going to carry on with EOD this week just in case all the stress of last weekend's big fight delayed things. I've kind of got it into my head that it won't happen without some help.

I've got a really annoying ov symptom - I get eczema/dermatitis type patches on my face (mainly around my eyes and cheekbones). I thought it was the cold weather before, but it's now always around when I ov and doesn't clear up until AF. I googled it (of course) and apparently some women react to increased levels of progesterone during cycles. Apparently taking an antihistamine helps, but am not sure whether it's safe during ttc.

bassetmum · 20/03/2017 11:19

So sorry the witch got you eva. There's definitely a cycle of emotions and thought process.

Im starting on my fw and I have bugger all enthusiasm for even bothering this month. Hoping it will pass by the time my other half comes back Thursday afternoon. Its not even the December edd bothering me. I think Ive just got myself into a funk of its never going to happen. Probably doesn't help my OH hasn't made any moves since the last failed dtd 4 days before ov as ive put the ball back in his court over it.

Pjs i have eczema normally but i do get a flair up around ovulation never put two and two together.

Pie fx you never know being distracted might help with this month.

florafoxtrot · 21/03/2017 11:45

I know how you feel Basset - I go through days where I think exactly the same and like its not even worth bothering with but what is the alternative? Stopping trying? Probably not going to do that... So might as well keep with it but try to focus on other things too. Sometimes it feels a bit like life is on pause at the moment and it shouldn't feel like that. We need to keep doing stuff that we enjoy try to count blessing - as f*cking hard as that is and some days i just want to curl into a ball and cry - and some days I do.
I'm on CD17 and thinking that I probably have ovulated but I missed a temp on Saturday as a result of being out so FF is acting the goat - hopefully it'll all even itself out soon.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 21/03/2017 17:31

I am reading the thread and trying to catch up with all your news.
Very belated birthday wishes to PJs, sounds like you had a fab weekend.

Sorry AF got you Zozh and Eva. Hope Eva is in full holiday mode by the time she reads this.

Blanket hope the exams are coming to an end.

Bliss you're a good friend, I'm not a big fan of needles but will just have to lump it if we have IVF.

Oh Pie (your name alwasy makes me hungry!) that Dr sounds awful. Re the spotting I too ask how is anything going to stick - fertility consultant I saw said spotting was not ideal but not critical.

Hope Kaydee is well.

Good luck to the others, Flora, Loxy, Basset and all the others.

AF is playing around with me, had 3 days of spotting, then 3 days with no spotting (not even after DTD) so did a test this morning and got a BFN. I expect she will arrive full throttle tomorrow.
DH and I visited a fertility clinic where I was advised to have IVF due to my age (just turned 37) but we are going to give it a few more months before starting. Apart from anything else we have trips booked and people coming to stay and I want to try it in a month with no avoidable stresses and no other commitments.

Anyway I don't know where this optimism springs from but there's always a chance I'll get a BFP before starting. Hoping to see some around here soon ladies.

florafoxtrot · 21/03/2017 17:46

Wow JeNe - exciting that its the next step but totally understand that you'd want to make sure that you've got no other distractions during the process.

Fx that sometimes happens in the meantime for you though. You never know.

Loxy4527 · 21/03/2017 20:09

pie I'm happy to cheer you on if you think it'll help! I might need some cheering on myself - I'm such a dingbat, I thought it'd be fun to get my bike out and cycle to work for the first time this year. Now I've got the sorest bum ever and it's FW >n<

Will have to tell DH to be gentle, I'm not giving up!

florafoxtrot · 21/03/2017 20:32

Oh dear loxy at least your intentions were good!

Piehunter · 21/03/2017 20:46

Oh loxy that gave me a laugh!! Your poor bum Blush I've bought new underwear and new toys in the hope of encouraging myself next month!

Baguette (mmm fresh, hot bread!! We both make each other hungry) sounds like a plan, hopefully that helps you feel a bit more in control? Useful to know about the spotting, thanks for sharing!

I'm 7dpo apparently, no spotting since 3?dpo so that's good in terms of lack of spotting before AF, that spotting might have been caused by smear and pelvic anyway. Written this month off because of the cervical violation but feeling OK!

flora and basset I think looking at the alternative is the only way to keep going! To stop trying is to lose all hope all month, it's so frustrating, the whole thing, but I have hope for us all. Rant away though, you have to let it out!

Blissfulignorance · 21/03/2017 21:10

Hi ladies

Hope you're all well. Can I please have some advice.

Last month I used opks and got my positive on cd15.

This month I'm cd12 now, opk yesterday was totally negative. Just did one and it looks pretty damn positive, however 1st month of temping and I had a spike this morning (see pic, previous 2 mini spikes are a result of red wine). Question is I thought id get a positive opk then ovulate a few days later but looks like I'm ovulating today? Dtd yesterday and we will do it again tonight. What do you think?

First time TTC - thread 6
Loxy4527 · 22/03/2017 19:40

Bliss I haven't tried temping yet but as far as when you ovulate after the LH surge it's anywhere from 24-36 hours later? But then personally I get positives for two, sometimes three days. I just assume that I ovulate the day after my + and make sure to dtd on the day and the two days after to make sure.

You're totally covered though if you dtd yesterday, today and maybe again tomorrow.

Flora and Pie Had my first + opk for this month yesterday so we managed it, woo! Another + today so will try again.

Pie you're making me look bad now, there's you with nice underwear and fun stuff and there's me waving opks and conception lube at my DH. Will try and make up for it next week when we go away for our anniversary. Kind of fell perfectly that, no AF, no FW to put pressure on. Should make the wait go a bit quicker :)

Pyjamas81 · 22/03/2017 22:33

I need to take a leaf out of your book pie - it's dtd night tonight and I'd literally rather organise my sock drawer. I just want to go to sleep! Told him to just hop on and try not to wake me 😂😂 Oh the romance.

It is possible to ov on the same day as positive opk bliss, maybe that's what happened!

Blissfulignorance · 23/03/2017 09:55

Well my opk yesterday was heading towards negative so I've had my surge, but my temp has dropped again.

At what point do you get a cover line?

Pjs I felt exactly the same as you last night. I just wanted to sleep. Goal achieved though.

Pie I think DH would have a heart attack if I waltzed in wearing kinky undies and a selection of toys to hand. I admire your spirit.

Jene you sound like you have a good plan, fingers crossed for you.

I'm starting night shifts again for a while, makes finding time to dtd difficult but I'm determined.

Piehunter · 23/03/2017 10:09

loxy pj's bliss I'm all enthusiastic but I'm waiting for AF to show up properly, just got intermittent spotting back atm. By the time FW rolls round I'll have lost enthusiasm, nothing like unspontaneous, "homework" sex to ruin the mood HmmGrin

bliss I'm afraid I am clueless on the temping! So cannot help... Hope your nights aren't too bad.

I think I'm going back to opks next month, had 3 months off, it's not done anything magic and as we can't have ALL the sex because of my broken insides I need to be able to focus it best when it matters most... Got pelvic ultrasound booked for after next AF in April too, and by the time results of that are back will be just shy of a year and gp might do bloods.

Loxy4527 · 23/03/2017 10:27

pjs haha, I feel you, I think last night was the first time neither of us really wanted to but felt we had to. I like a bit of spontaneity so it's weird saying things like "don't stay up too late and get tired coz we have to have sex before bedtime."

Pyjamas81 · 23/03/2017 13:48

Not just me then with just wanting a good sleep! We did get around to it in the end though- agreed it was a quickie so no expectations about having to 'satisfy' me, couldn't have been les bothered ha ha. Oh dear, what has it come to...

There's something about sexy underwear that makes me feel distinctly unsexy and working suspenders gives me more of the rage than the horn 😂 Partial to a toy though! Maybe it's time for some shopping!

bassetmum · 23/03/2017 14:05

Im so glad you said that pjs I tried to use suspenders last month and I am never going to use them again. I practically needed a shower after id finished.

Well my oh is back from being abroad with work today so hopefully we'll get dtd tonight.

OP posts:
Pyjamas81 · 23/03/2017 14:08

That's exactly it basset! Exhausted, sweaty and consumed with anger - hardly what I had in mind hahaha

KittyKat73 · 23/03/2017 15:53

Hey guys!

Hope everyone is getting on well :)

Im on CD 12 .... whether its a good idea or not at the last minute i decided not to use my CB ovulation sticks. I thought this is my first cycle after provera and have no idea who long its going to last so thought i will give it my best shot look out for signs of ovulation and if it doesnt work at least i know my cycle length. just hoping its not another 3 month cycle!

Piehunter · 23/03/2017 16:17

Oh suspenders are the work of the devil! These are the lazy/sensible version for those with stocking/suspenders appreciators-
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B019C1UTQM/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21
Have to admit to quickies being more regular than I think is ideal, but sleep!!

kitty fx for a more normal cycle for you!

Think I am officially onto cycle 10, spotting got heavier this morning and is more like light AF, at least hopefully I'll have stopped bleeding by the time I have my bladdercam on weds! Life is so glam 😂

Kaydee2017 · 23/03/2017 16:42

Just popping on to see how you're all doing - sorry for those AF got!! Flowers still rooting for each & every one of you ladies!!

Thanks for asking after me JeNe & kitty! I'm keeping very well thank you! Other than DH have only told my 2 bosses at work for practical reasons, time off for appointments, etc, keeping it from families a little while longer, still early!

Fx for all of you Smile

JeNeBaguetteRien · 23/03/2017 22:01

Oh Pie I'm wondering if I would ladder those but might give them a try...quite happy to do stockings once in a while.
DH was talking about our plans for Sunday and I've asked if that is before or after DTD and he's just rolled his eyes and laughed and asked where the spontaneity has gone. But he has helpfully said he can be spontaneous before or after - I'm thinking early on Sunday so I can have a big lunch and not have to jump him straight away! Who said romance is dead.

AF is here good and proper, another cycle begins...going to give it our all - grapefruit juice and bum in the air would break my neck if I tried to do a handstand though and Sperm Meets Egg Plan and DH can wear his loosest undies - I will be checking Wink

Roll on the weekend, busy day in work tomorrow but will round it off with some Wine - Friday and CD2 so might as well.
