Stopped mini pill no period

Hello,

So i stopped taking the mini pill on the 29th Jan and have had unprotected sex a few times since. I still havent had a period yet.. I havent had one when i changed to the mini pill last year.

Has anyone had any experience and how long did it take for your period to come back. Me and my partner are really excited to try for a baby but i want to know that i havent just messed up my body by taking the mini pill.

I did take a pregnancy test the other day just to make sure but it was negative.

Could be months & months! But it's normal for it to take some time, my Dr said it could take up to 6 months to get a period.

I have been off the mini-pill for 64 days and no period yet.

You can ovulate without having a period though, i took my last pill on 4th Dec and ovulated around 25th January

I was on the mini pill before my last DD. I stopped taking it in the October, bled in November nothing in December and got pregnant in the January. I came off the mini pill again 5 weeks ago but have had no bleeding at all this time so don't think I will be so lucky to get pregnant as quick this time (I've read it can takes months)
Fingers crossed and good luck you get your BFP sooner rather than later OP

I'm finishing my current pack on Cerelle as we get married in June. Wanted to conceive in the May or June so will use protection. People advised me to come off earlier because it can take so long for your cycles to regulate again..I'm just using extra protection to eliminate BFP earlier than anticipated haha! I will keep you updated as to when I get my withdrawal bleed and first af (if I even get one!)

laura Cerelle doesnt always have a withdrawal bleed so dont worry if you dont!

Red - okay good to know..this is why I need Mumsnet haha. The previous times I've had breaks I've always had withdrawal bleeds so fx I get one when I finally come off it 🎉 I'm so excited to get the crap out my system.

Hi OP. I came off mini pill last in the week of October 2016 after being on it 14 years. I had a witdrawal bleed 21 days later which lasted a week. Then a 'normal' 30 day cycle. I am now almost 8 weeks preg (concieved around 1st Jan) Goodluck xx

cool. I was expecting one soon after. still havent had one. Rather annoying.

I cant wait to be pregnant but have a fear it may never happen plus I'm 31 soon and don't feel like I years to wait.

Jelly you were lucky to have it return straight away. I've not read many positive stories after Cerelle so that's certainly a refreshing change. My last pill is tmoz so I'm looking forward to the withdraw bleed and af to show up tbh.

Spam you were lucky too. That's not too bad some people have been waiting a couple of months for their af to show up let alone their cycles to regulate again 🙄

Kate your never too old until your body stops producing eggs. Plenty left yet girl! I'm 21, 22 in March. Getting married in June and ideally want to TTC in the May or June whilst on honeymoon so coming off early to give my body chance to get back into the swing of things. Ive never been so excited to come off and have some bleeding in my life I don't think haha!

Kate I'm 32, 33 in June. No point being annoyed, you can't hurry it along and in the grand scheme of things, you've only been off 12 days and that's absolutely nothing at all Smile

Hi Kate. I stopped the mini pill on the 29th January after changing to it last year and we are now TTC. Ovulation can return straight away even if periods don't so there is hope! I am quite impatient so hope it doesn't take too long to conceive. I also did a pregnancy test (just yesterday). Wanted to let you know we are in the exact same boat!

Hi kate i do know exactly what your going through. I waited 7 years for partner to want a baby so as soon as he had warmed up to the idea i was knocking back the folic and counting down the days for pill to end. I know i was lucky having AF 21 days after ending, as everyone says it can take up to 6mths but it did feel like for ever. I got abit obsessed going to the bathroom thinking it had started (praying it had) but i did in that time i get EWCM so, as someone else said, even though a withdrawal bleed hasnt happened, it doesnt mean you arent ovulating. You will be fine i promise, just try to stay calm as it will help ttc

Okay so for the past four days I have been super dizzy and exhausted. Trying to convince myself these are early pregnancy symptoms but they don't sound like it!

I've had sore nipples and hoping its a sign of my period coming. have you taken a test yet?

I think it's too early to test. Probably should wait until next week but I imagine I'll crumble this weekend if not earlier. I've bought some to put in the cupboard. Much cheaper getting online at least.

Took my last pill on Sunday 12th. Withdrawal bleed from Monday 13th..I can only imagine how long it'll be before the dreaded AF decides to show up. I've now just sold my house so got to juggle hormones, moving and attempting to buy another home, hen do and getting married all within a few months which is going to be fun!

Sorry to hear about the BFN on the test ladies..hopefully it'll be good news soon! 🤞🏼

I took my last cerazette on Sunday! It's been a nightmare for me, months of constant spotting!! Nothing since October and then constant spotting since the start of January!! So glad to be off it!! Will be following this thread to see how you girls get on and how soon af arrives! It took 7 weeks for af to arrive when I stopped yasmin to have my son a few years ago. Fingers crossed I don't have to wait too long!!

Emma I was the exact same how weird! I have at least 2.5 years no bleeding whatsoever and now the last few months have been really hit n miss. Spotting here and there and it's been fairly heavy enough to ruin my knickers and go through onto clothes. Thank god I had a long coat on that's all I can say! 💁🏽

I used to be on Yasmin too but they took me off because I gained too much weight in a short period of time so they were abit reluctant to give me it anymore. Had the coil and that was awful so cerazette was my last option.

Are you TTC for no2 or just coming off it for a break?

Laura that's why I was put on cerazette too!! Bmi too high! Blush I flipping loved yasmin, hopefully I will be able to lose some weight and go back on after next baba. yes we are hoping to start trying for no 2. Ds will be 2 in March, if all went to plan I'd like to be pregnant April /may but who knows what will happen!! I've started opks already!! Lol.

Just too early for testing so nothing to worry about Kate. Interested to see how everyone gets on! I think this will be my first time off a pill in my adult life! I was also not a fan of the mini pill (only been on it 6 months). It was just a lot of spotting and never knew what was happening down there.
