Hello,

So i stopped taking the mini pill on the 29th Jan and have had unprotected sex a few times since. I still havent had a period yet.. I havent had one when i changed to the mini pill last year.

Has anyone had any experience and how long did it take for your period to come back. Me and my partner are really excited to try for a baby but i want to know that i havent just messed up my body by taking the mini pill.

I did take a pregnancy test the other day just to make sure but it was negative.

Thank you

I've been on and off the pill for years. Have been using the mini pill for just under a year and had no periods at all.

The combined pill used to give me awful migraines. Let's hope this is our year! My best friend took her 6 months to get pregnant. 4 months for her period to come back.

I think because I'm getting symptoms I assumed I could be pregnant but I wonder whether its my body adjusting to not being on the pill

I stopped cerazette in September after 5 years. After 4 weeks, no AF and negative test. 2 weeks later BFP. I'm now 22 wks after not having had a period since April 2011

excitedemmi · 15/02/2017 10:36

Thanks missisbee. It's nice to keep the hope alive!

excitedemmi · 15/02/2017 10:45

Kate I'm also failing to distinguish between whether the symptoms are due to pregnancy or just from coming off the pill. Impossible to tell. Just a waiting game. Let's try to wait a bit longer to do the next pregnancy test or we will be spending all our money on them. Although I'm saving a lot by not drinking....

Kate2930 · 15/02/2017 11:28

I agree. So hard though. It's good to know I'm not the one. I'm trying to be like my other half and go with the flow but not succeeding.

I have this fear in the back of my head what if it it never happens!

Hi guys I came off cerazette on Boxing Day 2016 and it took 35 days to get a period. In the mean time I had a ton of "pregnancy" symptoms (sore boobs etc) as hormones were clearly readjusting. And I never had those symptoms previously in a natural cycle. Hope this helps some of you. Now I am CD16 feeling very normal.

excitedemmi · 18/02/2017 19:53

Hi ladies. AF has come unexpectedly (and with a vengeance) today. Oh well, I'm not pregnant but now at least I know where I stand. Let me know how you guys are doing. Xx

Emma2803 · 18/02/2017 20:47

Emmi I hope your feeling not too rough and I'm sure your glad you know where you stand now. Just reading back on your old posts there was that three weeks since coming off pill and period starting? That's pretty quickly. I took my last cerazette on Sunday 12th Feb and I have some sort of wierd bleed. Starting red and watery and is brown now. Not too heavy. Wondering if it's a withdrawal type bleed thing

Kate2930 · 18/02/2017 23:46

Still no period for me :( no sign of it at all

excitedemmi · 19/02/2017 09:30

Will just have to monitor it for a few days, work out if it's a period or a withdrawal bleed. If it's possible to tell?

FlipKat · 20/02/2017 14:17

Hi Emmi, I think this is more likely to be a period as it is several weeks after stopping the pill, and withdrawal bleeds would usually have occurred sooner e.g. after a few days. However, it's not possible to say for sure that it's a period unless you'd tested and seen an LH surge.

My situation is similar to yours - I've been on the pill or IUS all of my adult life. Stopped the mini pill (Cerelle) on 30th January after my partner and I finally agreed to TTC. So excited!! No withdrawal bleed or AF yet. I'm using a Clear Blue dual monitor to see if I can tell when my cycle is coming back. I've now had 20 days of raised oestrogen (apparently!) but no LH surge. Wish things would hurry up and happen!

Good luck, everyone. Really interested to hear how you're all getting on!

excitedemmi · 21/02/2017 17:11

Clear blue dual monitor! I've not considered using anything like that. You will have to let us know if it's helpful. Now that I'm on my period, I've downloaded the app Glow, so seeing if that's useful. Hang in there Kate. We are all so impatient! Spent the last half of my life trying not to get pregnant and now I want it immediately!

FlipKat · 24/02/2017 07:40

Day 25 off Cerelle and I've got a peak on on the Clear Blue dual monitor! Hurrah :-)

This was after 23 days of "high" readings. I'd also bought some cheap internet OPKs (One Step sticks) so I could test in the afternoons as well as in the morning as apparently LH levels are best checked between noon and 8pm when they are higher. Saw a definite line last night and this morning it is much stronger and a definite positive. I've also been having symptoms for the last few days (breast and nipple tenderness, and some odd lower tummy pain) which must be hormone related so hopefully will make it easier to know that ovulation is on it's way in future. Having been on contraception for nearly 20 years, I had no idea what to expect!

Anyway, hopefully I should ovulate in the next 12-36hrs so I'd better grab DP and start DTD!

Hope you are all doing ok

Emma2803 · 24/02/2017 08:00

Good luck flipkat!! I think I got a positive on my opk on Tuesday night, have been off my cerazette since the 13th. Hopefully that means I have ovulated yesterday, will be keeping an eye out for af on the 9th March. We are not actually ttc until April, just getting back to normal before!!

excitedemmi · 24/02/2017 08:35

Good luck FlipKat! You've got a busy weekend then!

FlipKat · 26/02/2017 13:40

Thanks, emmi! Yep, busy weekend!! Peak was on Friday, so I'm assuming ovulation within 24-36hrs ie Saturday, then egg lasts for 24hrs so I think it would be worth DTD again today....I'd be up for it but we have been DTD lots and I'm worried I'm wearing poor DP out!

Emma - good to hear you've had a positive OPK too, especially so soon off the pill. It's nice to know where you stand and that things are kicking back in, even if you're not actively trying yet

excitedemmi · 10/03/2017 16:32

FlipKat your TWW must be almost up. How are you holding up? I've got another week of mine. Trying to not think about it and get on with other stuff.

Hotpinkangel19 · 10/03/2017 18:39

Hi, I came off Cerazette (mini pill) on 26/2 and still no bleed, doing opk's since last Friday and think? I may have my positive today??? What do you think? Xx

Stopped mini pill no period
excitedemmi · 15/03/2017 16:08

Struggling with the TWW so bad. Need to wait until Sunday to take a pregnancy test

ashaj92 · 15/03/2017 16:14

Please please please go to your GP!
I was on the pill non-stop for 7 years and I had no periods at all for a whole year. Long story short I went to the GP who referred me to a gynae consultant, and they prescribed me some tablets to kick start my cycle again. Thankfully this worked for me and after another 4 months (not including the weeks and months of waiting for consultant appointments) we've finally managed to conceive (using ovulation tests and pressed)
I had no idea this could happen and it was devastating for quite a long time as I began to think it would never happen for us.
Best of luck to you and hope you manage to get the result in the end x

excitedemmi · 18/03/2017 07:09

Just took a pregnancy test. It's a BFN 😟

Emma2803 · 18/03/2017 07:39

So sorry to hear this emmi. Any sign of af?Perhaps you didn't ovulate when you thought you did? Have you been doing opks? It can take a while for cycles to regulate when coming off the pill.

excitedemmi · 18/03/2017 07:52

No sign of AF. Have not been doing OPKs so entirely possible I didn't ovulate when I thought

Kate2930 · 18/03/2017 18:36

Same position as you still too. Took a test and negative. Still no period :/ spoke to a nurse at work and she said it could be as long as 12 weeks before anything happens

excitedemmi · 21/03/2017 09:14

Would you guys recommend I start using OPKs?
