Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

It's not been the best start of the year for most but we're still trying to keep it PMA Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Hugs miw it's so f-ing frustrating hang in there

Thanks binky we were also going to aim for every 2-3 days this cycle, so far we haven't done very well as it was my gran's funeral then DH got a 5 day trip 🙄 we have to get on to it tonight but I'm so cross with him gahhhh

Londonjam · 16/01/2017 08:41

Miw what test is this?????? Hsg?!!!

passmethewine123 · 16/01/2017 08:52

Thanks for new thread!

Cycle 1
CD21
7DPO as far as I know

Woke up at 5.45am this morning with urgent need to get to the loo, had squits sorry if tmi! Now got more on off hot flushes which I've had since Monday, and also had a couple of very mild waves of nausea this morning.

Trying (and failing) not to think about it too much as this is our first month TTC and we only DTD twice so our chances of conception must be very low. I think it's more likely my body is fighting something off and that's what I'm feeling!

passmethewine123 · 16/01/2017 08:53

Oh and my basal body thermometer and OPK's arrived this morning. Going to POAS just to see what all the fuss is about even though I know I'm past ovulation Hmm

Londonjam · 16/01/2017 08:57

Calling Miw .. MN to miw do we have a BFP please report!!

sk1pper · 16/01/2017 09:03

Yeah Miw - what darn test is that!? The suspense is killing me.

I can definitely see two lines so either your about to ovulate or your well and truly preggers!

Miranda234 · 16/01/2017 09:09

Morning everyone,

Thanks for the new thread Alexia I hope you ok and you too Pug

Think I'm definitely out this cycle as I'm getting cramping already - my lovely body has decided to now throw in cramping for a few days before AF comes!

Well done Jam for how you're handling your DH. I hope you sort things out quickly so you can get going with FW.

Welcome all newbies Smile

Binkybunny13 · 16/01/2017 09:11

Where is miw?? IS THAT A PREGGO TEST??????????????

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/01/2017 09:42

Ahh miw you tease! Let us know when you can!

As for me I am now 3 dpo. Having a few 'symptoms' but I use the term lightly as could be nothing! Namely a bit of nausea, boobs felt a bit tender last night, tiredness (always tired though so nothing new there!) and a feeling of pressure down there.. probs all nothing though and trying not to symptom watch, so hard though!

Am currently lying on my yoga mat trying to make myself do a practise but it's just sooo comfy... may have to be a yin yoga sesh today Wink

Jam I'm so glad your DH came clean, that's the most important thing and I bet he feels like a right eejit for just not being honest first time. Do you think he'll bring it up when he gets home?

emalady · 16/01/2017 09:49

miw there are definitely 2 lines - if it a preg test? If so massive congrats.

Flashinthepan · 16/01/2017 09:54

I missed so much in a weekend! I'm going to start with Miw if that's a pregnancy test get back here right now and tell us!

Sorry for everyone who's had a crappy weekend for whatever reason.

To everyone who's feeling good, keep going and hopefully it'll rub off on the whole thread!

TTC 1
Cycle 2 (Cycle 1 was BFP last April but turned into a total disaster!)
I'm now a tube down so in an ovulatory cycle, the chance of an egg making it down my tube is around 65 -75 per cent.
Currently on what I think is CD 6 however am not sure whether i had 4 days of spotting before AF or whether i've just had a weird 9 day period!
I'm temping and using OPKs just because I know I'll obsess over it so I might as well channel that into some productivity!

Flashinthepan · 16/01/2017 10:00

Also, does anyone else find that their pre-conception vitamins make them feel nauseous? I'm taking Boots Omega 3, 6 and 9 with Evening Primrose oil and the Boots conception multivitamin. I take them first thing in the morning and after about 5 minutes I feel like I'm going to throw up, and then 5 minutes after that it stops.

Hippychic79 · 16/01/2017 10:01

Wow wow wow xxx congrats miw that's a line my friend xxxx nice one xxxx

HepKestrel · 16/01/2017 10:01

So I am now a year long veteran of this thread Sad

hep
37
ttc 16 months in total
I have had 8 cycles before missing two AFs due to stress, followed on by a bfp and mmc leading to EPRC resulting in my epic 6 months with no AF

I am now cycle3 post MC
cd31 but AF imminent (boobs, rhr confirmed by spotting this morning).

a little bit low today.

GimbleInTheWabe · 16/01/2017 10:10

Sorry to hear you're feeling low hep. Be kind to yourself today and do something that will make you feel good. I think us humans can be so hard on ourselves.

Flashinthepan · 16/01/2017 10:11

Flowers Hep. When you feel like you do today, it sucks. But it will get better.

Kathrino · 16/01/2017 10:19

miw, that looks VERY real to me. Please be a preggo test!!

Jam, I am very impressed with your restraint! I'm not sure I could avoid a sarky text or two...

EJ, I know what you mean about a 'natural' approach but agree it's so hard when the window is so small. One month last year, DH had a marathon either the day of ovulation or the day before so obviously he wasn't really up for DTD which I totally understood but it did mean that that month was a bit of a write off really.

Flash I take all my vitamins with dinner in the evening which is supposed to prevent nausea.

Flowers for you hep

Welcome to all the newbies! I hope you're not with us for long.

miwelaisjacydo · 16/01/2017 10:20

Yes a pregnancy test. I thought it was negative went back a min later and low and behold two lines.

Don't want to tell DH as don't want to get his hopes up.

passmethewine123 · 16/01/2017 10:24

MIW - congrats!!!!!

How many DPO are you?! I think you can def tell your DP as it's a strong positive Grin

HepKestrel · 16/01/2017 10:29

congrats miw !

And welcome all the newbies

HepKestrel · 16/01/2017 10:36

I can't remember who was asking about resting heart rate, but it varies in your cycle in a similar way to your temperature.

I like this figure someone on reddit made: i.imgur.com/rYQPNNA.jpg

Both your temperature and heart rate reflect the changes in your motabolism due to hormones.

so when you get pregnant, i your resting heart rate rises to about 10bpm more than normal.

The reason I knew i had miscarried (whilst awaiting the ultrasound confirmation) was my heart rate plummeted to normal (and I could fit back into my normal bra).

So I have learned to trust my heart rate and boobs. But you just have to learn what is normal for you. But as I have said, I am a ttc veteran now.

temperature will always be more sensitive and accurate to heart rate IF you can take the readings correctly. I can't because i am a terrible sleeper and a worse waker-upper.

Miranda234 · 16/01/2017 10:37

Congratulations miw!!

Sorry you're feeling low hep Flowers

sk1pper · 16/01/2017 10:37

So happy for you Miw! Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy - I hope you won't leave us too soon though.

Hep - its blue Monday today so that could be a contributing factor to your low mood. Remember, you've got a whole brand new year ahead of you, you know you are fertile (despite your MC) and you will get your BFP soon. Xx

Kathrino · 16/01/2017 10:39

Hurrah, congrats miw! What brilliant news, I'm so happy for you!

Thanks for the info re resting heart rate hep. I can't temp because I'm a similarly bad sleeper so it might be something to consider in future.

MrsC1004 · 16/01/2017 10:45
