Thread 24. TTC #1 - It's been a tough start to the year but 2017 is still the year of the BFP

AlexiaB · 15/01/2017 13:57

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

It's not been the best start of the year for most but we're still trying to keep it PMA Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

They do flash , I'm sure we will be seeing a BFP very soon. I really don't think it will be me though, with DH low morphology I've got to keep a lid on it and hold out for our appointment I think. I've got my hopes up so many times before and the disappointment is crushing.

I really need to expect to see AF in the next few days, not in a pessimistic way but just in a self-preservation way. If it comes, it comes and I was never pregnant in the first place, so better to get onto day 1 of the next cycle.

gaelach my DH is on proxeed which is expensive but is one of only ones recommended by fertility specialists. We need to be on the serious stuff though with 1-2% morphology.

sk1pper · 31/01/2017 13:14

Pyjamas - okay I'm ignoring it now as I will loose my mind if I start analysing things this early on. Glad your rash has subsided though xx

Jam and Flash - any chance you girls may do a FRER? Flash I know you said you were out but pink spotting isn't the end of the world.

Flashinthepan · 31/01/2017 13:28

Jam I understand. I feel like I almost wouldn't mind if I got AF, I'd just like to have a normal reliable cycle. It's never knowing every month what anything means.

Skipper I know. I've pulled myself back from the brink. I acutally did do a FRER even though my temp was low but then saw some blood and because of the temp and negative FRER I assumed the worst. But my mooncup has been empty all day. And my "symptoms" feel more pregnancy than start of AF. Haven't had cramps since Sunday, and boobs are still incredibly painful - they normally go by the start of AF.

Kathrino · 31/01/2017 13:51

That sounds promising Flash, I hope that AF stays well away!

Jam, I'm right there with you. Only 8 DPO but absolutely not thinking anything will happen this month at all and planning for AF next week. After all these months, I can't bring myself to really symptom spot or get carried away.

Always lovely to hear from you hep although I can totally understand that you need some time away.

Glad to hear all is going well music, it's always lovely to see the grads come back to this thread :)

Pyjamas81 · 31/01/2017 13:56

That's what I'm trying to do skipper - otherwise I end up spending half of every month in a right state! Easier said than done though.

Flashinthepan · 31/01/2017 13:57

Pyjamas if AF arrives this month, I need to take a totally different approach, as this month has totally killed me. I'm hoping yoga and acupuncture every week will help me.

Londonjam · 31/01/2017 14:10

skipper I'm not testing, it's too depressing. If it's negative then I'll feed sad for the rest of the day and I won't be able to trust it as AF not due until Friday (although I'm pretty sure I ovulated a day early, so expecting AF Thursday). There is very little chance of it being positive.

Plus there is part of me that likes being in denial weirdly. The couple of days before my period comes are the only time I could actually be pregnant. I can have a little psychological pregnancy, work out my hypothetical due date and what we would call it. At the moment, it's a girl called Kitty, being born October 10th. Hahaha I've lost it!

God what has my life come to!

flash you've been through the wringer. If it is BFN I'm wishing you a zen chilled cycle ahead. I've been doing daily yoga and it's made a massive difference - I'm much calmer and less angry-emotional.

MissyJones80s · 31/01/2017 14:27

Fx for those nice long LP alexia !!

Lovely to hear your news music do still share!

jam fx your cycle allows for some dtd at the right time. Makes it so tricky when the sperm is thousands of miles away right lol

MissyJones80s · 31/01/2017 14:28

jam awww Kitty love that name

MissyJones80s · 31/01/2017 14:30

flash I'm seriously considering yoga let me know how it goes. Not sure whether to do at home or join a class...I need some moments of peace and focus!

harrietm87 · 31/01/2017 14:31

jam I do that too! Well I don't actually name it but every month I work out the due date if I got pregnant that month...it's probs a bit crazy. This month for me it would be due 14-17 October!

MissyJones80s · 31/01/2017 14:31

Oh and flash your symptoms sounds really interesting !!!

harrietm87 · 31/01/2017 14:32

PS love the name kitty! My sis is Catherine but known as cath so would consider a Catherine named after her but known as kitty if we had a girl

MissyJones80s · 31/01/2017 14:32

So how do you figure the due date do you see when you ovulate and gauge it from there? #clueless Hmm

Pyjamas81 · 31/01/2017 14:49

I took up crochet and meditation flash - still difficult, but it helps! You've had a really tough cycle though - anyone would be driven around the bend with all those symptoms.

I'm the same jam - it's the time where I daydream the most! We picked out names ages ago - Isabel for a girl, Benjamin for a boy 🙂

FF tells me when predicted due date could potentially be missy - 19th October if we get lucky this cycle!

Kathrino · 31/01/2017 14:52

Missy, I think initial due date is based on your last AF and then that gets refined over time through scans etc.

Love the name kitty too although it's probably a bit too close to my name for us to be able to use it. I like quite traditional names and have a much longer list of potential boy names than girl names. Benjamin is on my list too pyjamas.

HepKestrel · 31/01/2017 15:16

kathrino yes that is correct.
at your booking appt they put the estimate in from your last AF, but it can wildly change. my first EDD was the 19th Feb. gulp.

AlexiaB · 31/01/2017 16:33

Kmfxd for you Kathrino, Skipper and Pyjamas - also glad your rash has gone!

Hope you get an answer soon Flash. I hate being in limbo!

Wonderful news Music I'm so happy for you! I just knew you'd have a sticky bean as your lines were so strong early on. Yay you're having a baby!!! Grin

Hep lovely to see you back! Sounds like you've been doing some great dtd-ing.

To have an October EDD would be extra special as we'd have an anniversary baby - 8 years after we met and fell in love. Wah I want it so badly!

And I LOVE baby names! I'm actually obsessed Blush I even go as far as stalking the FF pregnancy forum baby names thread regularly yes I'm a weirdo and I have pages of phone notes with potential names. Aww Harriet and Jam my Irish nana was called Catherine but was known as Kitty. It's my middle name. Love it!

Pyjamas I love Isabel and Benjamin but we can't use Benjamin because of our surname and DH's mother tongue.

We've decided on Zach for a boy as it goes nicely with our 4 letter, one syllable surname starting with a B. I also like Jacob. Girls name are sooo much harder for me because I love too many! Olivia, Isabella, Amelia (longer options) or Ella and Evie to keep with the 4 letter thing.

Gaelach Wellman conception is a good place to start but this is recommended too...

Daily:
30mg - zinc
1000mg - vitamin C
2000mg - Omega 3
Vitamin D
Ubiquinol - 200-400mg
Folic acid
Nuts - almonds, walnuts and brazil nuts(or selenium supps instead) specifically.

Pyjamas81 · 31/01/2017 16:59

Live your name ideas Alexia - Olivia is also on my list! How sad am I - I've even already debated whether I prefer Isabelle or Isabel. Leaning towards Isabel, but clearly have too much time on my hands!

Londonjam · 31/01/2017 17:10

Loving the name chat

AlexiaB · 31/01/2017 17:11

That's not sad pyjamas, well if it is then I'm sad too! Ha ha. I like both options but I'd decide based on surname length and how it looks written down. I dislike nicknames and names being shortened which puts me off Isabella. Not too keen on Izzy and Bella. Same with Livie/Liv for Olivia. Ella can't be changed but I don't like it as much as Isabella and Olivia! Lol crazy alert

We need a new thread soon! I don't mind doing it unless anyone else really wants to? Be nice to have a couple of thread title options though... Any ideas?

I love Rose Jam. Will definitely be using Rose or Grace as a middle name. Olivia Rose 😍 I also love Emily/Amelie but I have cousins called both so won't be using them. Kitty Isabelle looks nice to me. Love name chat Grin

New thread time already?! Bloody hell we can chat :)

Hmmm, something to do with being February Fertility Fighters on the FRONTLINE?

(was thinking 'futile' in my case but I don't want to bring us all down with me Grin )

AlexiaB · 31/01/2017 17:31

We sure can chat can't we? Love that Jam GrinStar think that wins already!

I was reading back thread and missed your msg Tonks - hope af stays away and your temp bounces back up tomorrow Flowers
