How heavy was your implantation bleed?

So this is month 2 of TTC, so I don't really know what to expect.

Have used Preseed lube this month, and tried almost daily around the time when I thought I was ovulating.

I have then had very sore boobs, increased sense of smell, headaches in morning, etc.

My period is due on Monday, but last night I started getting cramps like my period, and started to bleed pink/reddish, and it's heavier today.

Last night there was enough to cover half a liner, and I thought I might use a tampon today.
I'm not sure if it is period or implantation bleeding, as it is 3 days early and I have never had early periods before.

My questions are....how heavy was your implantation bleed, what colour was it, and how long did the bleeding last?

Also, how many days after the bleeding started did you get your BFP?

Thank you for reading. I was hoping to find out today that it was a BFP in time for Christmas Day, so it looks like I'm probably out this month, but was hoping for some positive stories!

I had implantation bleeding with my son - I thought it was my period though as it was dark brown spotting that went on for about four days (contrary to what the NHS and other websites tell you). I ended up having a few glasses of wine.....! I didn't have any pregnancy symptoms so its difficult to pinpoint but something didn't feel right. I did a test on day 35 of my cycle and it was positive. So if you haven't done so already then would suggest buying a cheap test as you'll soon know. Sorry to add to a late post but I think I might be having implatation bleeding.
I noticed some light blood when I wiped every now and then for the past two days and this morning I did two tests.
One has a very faint broken line...
And I feel like I'm bleeding a little more right now but it's not my normal kind of period blood... So... I'm hoping fingers crossed...

How heavy was your implantation bleed?

Mine wasn't successful, but today I took 2 HPT. Success!
I was suppose to start my period today.
I am experiencing cramps, but no blood. Fingers crossed this will go full term :(

Hi there, I know this was a few years ago and you may not see it but just wondering if you thought it was a period and it was heavy what made you take a pregnancy test? Just asking cos I have had a heavy 3 day period which was 3 days early and I have all other symptoms of being pregnant

Please help. AF arrived on April 3rd and left on April 7th. Sex on the 10th, 16th and 18th. I woke up this morning 4/19 to a flow similar AF. Way to early to be AF...any thoughts on what might me going on?

Found this thread when I was stalking online. My period came 3 days early (Friday afternoon, was due Monday) and lasted 24 hours. It was heavy though, filled pads for the day but woke up without a single spot this morning (Sunday). It was dark but there was no clotting. I know most people say it needs to be light, but now that I read a few people have had heavy bleeds and been pregnant, this gives me hope. I cried 3 nights in a row last week at tv scenes and my partner dreamt last night that I was pregnant. I would so love it if this was actually our time!

We went to the IVF specialist on Friday (no period then!) and decided we’d start this cycle, so I have Tuesday booked for scans and drugs since my period was coming. Oh God it would be a miracle after 18 months if we were pregnant when we finally booked in for IVF!

Just found this thread.
I’ve come on my period 3 days early and for the past 3 days it’s been heavy like a normal period with light cramps etc, but last night all of a sudden it has just stopped, except for the occasional tiniest, pale pink mucus.
I’ve come into work today wearing a pad just in case she’s tricking me and she’ll be back but I just feel extremely nauseous and headachey and bursting for a wee a lot more considering I haven’t drunk much today? So confused x

So, question. I am a young women (23) who is has a pretty consistent AF every month. If i ever have a early period, it’s by a day or two. However, 5 days ago i started to notice my breast were very heavy and a little tender which i never experience even before, during , and after my period. So i thought that was odd, and they are currently feeling the same way. Sunday, i noticed i was spotting ( a little over a week before my expected period) and it has continued as of now which makes me have been bleeding for 3 days, BUT, it’s not like my period. It’s a lot lighter because at day 3 on my normal period i would have be done soaked a whole pad by now. But it’s not as much blood, but it’s not just light spots either as it started out on Sunday. The color is a red and i have had mild cramping. I have never got my period a week early, I’m always on time and I’m not one to have irregular periods. Help !

growcookeat - I know this thread is a little older but your message caught my eye. I have had bright red bleeding with some clotting today (9 days before period due) and feel it is too heavy to be implantation bleeding.
Did your heavy bleeding have clots? xx

I'm also desperate to know if anyone with heavy bleeding ended up pregnant???

I had 6 hour heavy then barely anything into rusty light pink spotting for a day or 2 ...

Thinking I'll do a test tonight... 🤷🏼‍♀️🤞🏽

Also interested to know if anyone with heavy bleeding turned out pregnant. I am due to come on period Monday but took ‘early’ pregnancy test on weds (So 5 days before expected period )which was positive (but fairly faint line). I then took another ‘Early’ test this morning which was positive again (but again faint) but have since started bleeding with cramps. It seems too heavy to be implantation bleeding, but it’s hard to get information on how light/heavy it can be.

I had no idea when I ovulated so didn’t know when to expect my period but my implantation bleeding lasted for 9 days and was heavy for 4 of those in the middle. I used a FRER on day 3 of the spotting which was negative and I was actually 11DPO. The cramping was bad enough I took naproxen for it and enjoyed a few ciders!

I started doing ovulation tests 5 days after the bleeding stopped and it was a peak straight away which was weird, DTD the next two days then the day after I was exhausted. I did another ovulation test to check it was dropping which was also peak followed by a very positive pregnancy test! I was 5+3 weeks before I found out.

I’ve joined mumsnet just to comment on this thread as currently going through all this trying to conceive fun again. Anyway, when I had my first baby, I had what I would class as 3 days of heavy, red bleeding and quite significant cramps. I thought I’d miscarried as had taken an early test. I waited 2 weeks, took another test which was positive and subsequently booked in for an early pregnancy scan (expecting them to say there was nothing there). Low and behold I was 6 weeks and there was a tiny heartbeat on the screen. I couldn’t believe it as EVERYTHING I read online pointed towards a miscarriage. It’s a horrible waiting game but it’s completely out of our control. My only inkling that I may have still been pregnant was an insatiable thirst night and day!

Thanks for your comments @Fredthespider and @Alipippips. Maybe it could be heavy implantation bleeding then. I have sort of resigned myself to it being chemical pregnancy or miscarriage but maybe there is some hope after all. How long do you think I should wait before doing another test? Since I had the positive early one I don’t know quite where I stand now 😬

That's a great story... so crazy when EVERYTHING I read says implantation bleeding is only spotting and only light pink...
I had a heavy bleed for 12 hours then it died down, after 3 days there was nothing.... did test the next day neg...

But my body still hasn't felt quite right... maybe I should do another test!? A girl can dream right!?

@Lozzza85 hi sorry to jump in I'm basically going through the same thing!

I always get sore boobs as a PMS symptom which I did this month and I'm due on AF/'spotting' on Tuesday. Started bleeding light pink Friday which never happens!! I do spot but I always spot brown which should've started on Tuesday. As soon as I bleed my boobs stop hurting. 3 days later still got the pink and a tiny bit brown and still sore breasts and a BFN!

It's probably AF showing her way early which is so annoying but I've been feeling different this month and it's all a bit weird!

I feel like when you're TTC your body plays tricks on you and goes through all this changes and it's hard not to symptom spot when your body is going through something different Sad

Mine wasn't implantation bleeding. It actually went on to be one of the heaviest periods I've had and I was prescribed tranexamic acid to try and slow the bleeding down. So definitely not IB! Hope other ladies were more successful ❤️ xx

I retested now following the bleeding and now getting BFN so it must have been bleeding indicating chemical pregnancy not implantation bleeding. Hope the rest of you waiting get better news 🤞🏻
