Getting ready for baby challenge

Hi all, we are planning on TTC in the new year. Before that I want to get a bit healthier lose three stone and generally be in the best shape possible to get pregnant and run around after a baby. Is anyone else in the same boat? Would you be up for a little thread to keep us all on track? Planning on doing a dry January as a kick start and then will be dragging my arse to the gym after Christmas as well. Very open to suggestion and ideas to shift the bulge. Would be good to have a few buddies though. Anyone fancy joining in?

Unicorn so possible I ovulated more recently? I'm clueless with no AF dates or OPKs to go on. I guess I will just test every week until I get a period lol

Oysterbabe · 15/01/2017 19:24

Personally is wait until at least Tuesday when you can be a bit more sure of the result.

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 19:29

Grumpy maybe?! I'll try to make better observations this month and feed back! Hopefully it'll all settle down soon!

Confused one part thinks waiting is more sensible and will mean you're more sure. But I'd probably test again tomorrow... I think I read that although false negatives are really common when testing before period is due, false positives are really rare. So basically, a line is a line.... fx for you!!

HeyJupiter · 15/01/2017 19:30

Confused I think I can see something too. I would wait until tuesday as hopefully will be much clearer by then. Have everything crossed for you lovely!

Wiggleyfingers · 15/01/2017 19:39

Confused waiting until Tuesday is definitely the more sensible option but there is NO WAY I would be able to wait. I would test again in the morning. It looks promising though. 9DPO is so early! Was it you that was using the pull out method? Or did you actually start trying? I've gotten confused!

Heyitsholly · 15/01/2017 19:52

Confused i can see a faint line! Keep testing till you get a clearer one!

Heyitsholly · 15/01/2017 19:55

I am currently in denial untill i get a strong positive even tho i think you ladies are right. Then i will tell dh. Hes been away with our visitor since last night so hes not here anyway.
He was talking about it on the phone when i told him how lovely our dd was with a 3 month old today and just saying how he cant wait. Im excited to tell him but im rubbish at surprises so i will probably just blurt it out like last time

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 20:38

The crazy thing is we are pulling out! (I am actuLly embarassed i have got all obsessed considering Blush) Although I am not convinced DH manages it because he likes me to finish... bit i find it hard when he isnt (sorry if tmi!)

But i am a very regular person with no pre-af symptoms... and this isnt the first month i have been looking for them so i can't be completely insane!

I think i am gonna wait until Tuesday and live with my 2 inches bigger bloated rock hard belly! In my dream
World that i might be upduffed before being slammed down to earth with BFN

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2017 20:40

Confused lol 😂

Mummyme87 · 15/01/2017 20:44

Confused - I see a line, but if it came up after the time it could be an evaporation line. Was it a pink colour? If it had colour to it it could be a positive. If it is more grey usually an evap. Google them and there are loads of pictures.

I was testing twice a day from 9DPO last cycle. I will refrain until at least 10dpo

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 21:15

It was there within the 10 mins... but yeah i know i am being ridiculous!

I'm jusy going to slowly creep back into my box now 😂😂😂

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 21:36

As a small redeeming factor... we dtd for everyday of my fw including ov day... although i'm still crazy i know

HeyJupiter · 15/01/2017 21:46

Confused you aren't crazy! It only takes one sperm after all Grin plus you are lovely and young and probably uber-fertile. If you can hold off til Tuesday that sounds sensible (and you would have way more will power than I would!)

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 21:47

Confused don't worry, I'll be the same! I think my oh will have to hide all the tests in the house every tww!

MrsC2017 · 15/01/2017 22:35

confused look we are all baby crazy so you are among friends, maybe try a digital on Tuesday if u can hold out then at least you won't be squinting although I can see something for sure!

busyrascal · 15/01/2017 22:55

Ooh Holly!!!
And exciting stuff for confused too...?

Well my dh has just been the most spontaneous he has ever been in his life! He usually plans everything meticulously and we were planning starting ttc in March. Yet thus evening went ahead with dtd despite knowing that I accidentally missed my pill today. I'm gobsmacked beyond words!

Mummyme87 · 15/01/2017 23:03

Confused - I was bloody mental last cycle testing. It consumed me completely

Squirrel1981 · 15/01/2017 23:16

We've been trying to get pregnant for 3 years with no joy, have just been diagnosed with PCOS which I think is wrong! Just about to start using the Clearblue advance fertility monitor, please please tell me there's some hope Confused

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 16/01/2017 03:41

Squirrel there's definitely hope! My friends sis in law have pcos and conceived within 4 months. Getting yourself an OPK is probably a good idea.

Wow I go to sleep for a few hours and I wake up to more potential BFPs!! Amazing! I second grabbing the digital tests as it just literally spells it out for you - but it's probably too early to pick it up with those tests.

On a less life changing note, had my weigh in this morning and I've dropped another two pounds so 7lbs off since start of Jan which is good.

I took my measurements and I've lost 2 inches off waist, 4 inches off stomach, 2 inches off hips and stayed the same on thighs so overall I am very pleased with those results.

I really want to shift 10lbs altogether in January so just need to stay motivated! How are you all getting on with diets?

TheGrumpySquirrel · 16/01/2017 06:25

I put on 1lb this week. Probably meaningless but annoying

JB1983 · 16/01/2017 06:27

Hi ladies
Been cut off from the world all weekend at a lovely log cabin in the snow, enjoying the hot tub before that will become a no-no when pregnant!
Holly that looks like a positive to me! Congrats Flowers confused 9DPO is very early but there could be something there, it's hard to tell in the picture. I'd be testing again in a couple of days. Excited to see repeat tests.

Wiggleyfingers · 16/01/2017 07:00

Wow JB! Log cabin in the snow sounds wonderful! What a lovely escape!
I had a bit of a dodgy week last week in the way of food. I'm going to stop temping and OPK-ing for a while as I am getting far too obsessed and need to focus on being healthy and wedding planning first. I'm hoping that with my head a bit clearer there will be more room for motivation and healthy choices! Off to buy a scale later as I've been avoiding it. Will check in later with the gory details Sad

Sshsecretenclosed · 16/01/2017 07:14

Morning all - just got my first peak on my clear blue OPKs. DH is at work already!!

confusedat23 · 16/01/2017 07:58

Well ladies the chance to test was taken away this morning anyway because even though i went for a wee twice!! Before bed i had to get up again in the middle of the night to go (which is unlike me!)

I keep looking at the picture and i know there is something there but whether it is real or not i dont know... although there are a million symptoms now lol including lower backache on my left hand side, being perpetually hungry and tender bruised feeling boobs...

I have 3 more normal tests in my bag so if i do one on Tuesday and one on Thursday and I see anything I will get a digital!

Squirrel best of luck with CBFM! The only thing i have heard is that PCOS can give some irregular opk readings... but testing cant hurt!

Rascal have you considered coming off the pill early?

Congrats on the weightloss Theres
