Getting ready for baby challenge

Hi all, we are planning on TTC in the new year. Before that I want to get a bit healthier lose three stone and generally be in the best shape possible to get pregnant and run around after a baby. Is anyone else in the same boat? Would you be up for a little thread to keep us all on track? Planning on doing a dry January as a kick start and then will be dragging my arse to the gym after Christmas as well. Very open to suggestion and ideas to shift the bulge. Would be good to have a few buddies though. Anyone fancy joining in?

Happy Birthday mummyme, bet you can't wait for NY!

Love some of the names - confused, Astrid is gorgeous!

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 15/01/2017 09:50

Happy birthday mummy!

Thanks - we've gone very Irish or Hebrew mostly and then a few "out there" options. We will just sound them out over the next few months and see what feels right for us. It's exciting.

Still no AF. Really hoping it makes an appearance this week. Also dreading as suspect it will be horrendous!

Happy birthday mummy! 🎉🎈Hope you have a nice day!

Loving all the names. I have a girl name I like (Rebecca although not sure about shortened versions...) but I have no clue for boy names!!

How are those in tww doing? Any more testing soon?

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 10:16

Just done a weigh in (no time tomorrow!) and same as last Monday. I'm pretty pleased actually as I've done a lot of eating out week just gone. Fingers crossed I can keep it up.

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 10:20

You will be ok with AF Theres the main thing i noticed are they are a lot more wet than i remembered them pre contraception. I even leaked on a night!

Thanks Jupiter me and DH are obsessed with Vikings and Nordic history but don't want to go with names like Thor and Loki as these are quite common due to marvel!

Dancing my sister is called Rebecca and will only be called Becca for short (our Grandad who died before xmas was the only person allowed to called her Becky) its a lovely name!

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 10:23

Ooo and I am testing Tuesday earliest but not due till Fri/Sat however i spot pre-af so i should have a good idea if anything is going on.

Still got really strong (non normal pre-af symptoms) but i am trying bot to get my hopes up!

HeyJupiter · 15/01/2017 10:26

That's good Dancing, always a relief when things haven't gone up!

I'm going a bit mad in my 2ww.. symptom spotting all over the place (constant wind and bloating, little bit of CM, dizzy earlier in the week, chills, really emotional, our cat won't leave me alone!) but to be honest any of those could be true for a normal luteal phase where I haven't conceived. I'm only 6-7DPO so wouldn't really be expecting that many symptoms anyway. AF due in exactly a week. DH and I need to decide when we want to test. Might not test until I'm actually late as so scared of getting hopes up too soon or chemical pregnancy.

How are other 2ww ladies doing?

HeyJupiter · 15/01/2017 10:27

confused I get a day or two of brown spotting before my AF too so should know whether I'm out really by Friday/Saturday. Fingers crossed for us!!

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 15/01/2017 10:39

Oh it must be so difficult not to over analyze every little sign in tww. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you girls ☘️

Thank you!! That's really kind. It's going to be a long week.

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 10:59

Oh no Jupiter I hope you find something to take your mind off it!!

I feel like time has just stood still since ttc! Months don't normally take this long to pass, do they?! I'm cd10 and it feels like cd100!!

MrsC2017 · 15/01/2017 11:07

Oh girls good luck with the testing!!! Keeping everything crossed for you! I'll be like a crazy woman in the tww I already know! I'm starting my OPK testing today, ovia tells me I'm in FW today , BD yesterday and today and everyday for the week.... The prospect makes me tired even thinking about it!
We have a lot of Irish boy names and then I love olde worldey English names for girls.... DH does not like these! He always says he has to see the baby first!
mummy have a wonderful birthday! Love new york I could go there 100 times and never be bored, lucky you!

Mummyme87 · 15/01/2017 12:37

I love NY also. Have been 3 times but OH has never been. Hoping to be pregnant by then 🤞🏻
I hate the tww. Didn't have any of this last time as DS was a happy surprise whilst on the pill 😂

Oysterbabe · 15/01/2017 13:53

If we have a boy he'll be Rudy and a girl will be Anneka. We have a Heidi already.

Just back from brunch with some friends. There were 2 tiny babies there and it makes my ovaries hurt!

Good luck testers! I won't test until I'm late when it's my turn. The first few months ttc last time I really drove myself nuts testing early and trying to convince myself I could see something.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2017 15:26

Hey guys great to see some name ideas.. we are so stuck!! Do not agree on any.. I like carmen for a girl but DH think it's chavvy! maybe Finn for a boy but it's v popular (DH and I just have a feeling we will have a boy!) I'd feel more confident with a girl but I already have my DD so I guess it would be nice to have one of each. But I can't imagine loving any child as much as I love DD - I know that's normal before they arrive but I really can't imagine it!

Been trying to guess some sort of cycle as no AF since came off cerazette on Boxing Day. Will be testing on Tuesday 17th due to unprotected sex on the 7 & 10th, (and last night!!) then I'll test again on 24th. I have a dentist appointment early Feb where they will do x rays so I want to be sure. Tiny bit of brown spotting yesterday, no idea what's going on, but I don't feel so weird and tired as I did a week ago. Possible luteal phase? I have spots urgh!

We'd still like to wait till may or June to conceive ideally, but I think we are not going to try too hard to avoid it and just see what happens in the meantime. Our friends had a baby boy on Friday! And two more are due soon.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2017 15:27

Oyster I love Anneka! Although I'd use the Dutch Anneke (pronounced the same)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2017 15:31

My yoga teacher told me they'll be adding some unheated classes soon so I'm relieved I'll have options during the first trimester Smile

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 16:00

I am joining you on the Tuesday testing Grumpy but i feel really negative today!... i am exhausted
And the aching and bloating.. i feel like i have itchy boobs now as well! Lol... but the really annoying thing is this could al just be in my own brain lol

Mummyme87 · 15/01/2017 16:08

Having a 2yr old makes it hard to dtd anytime other than night time 😩 We have just been out for a wander to shops to get a few bits, DS sleeping In Pushchair, I thought perfect time when we get back whilst he finishes his nap.... boom open eyes as we walk through the door!

Heyitsholly · 15/01/2017 16:40

I couldnt test till know. And im not sure.
Will retest first thing.
