Getting ready for baby challenge

Hi all, we are planning on TTC in the new year. Before that I want to get a bit healthier lose three stone and generally be in the best shape possible to get pregnant and run around after a baby. Is anyone else in the same boat? Would you be up for a little thread to keep us all on track? Planning on doing a dry January as a kick start and then will be dragging my arse to the gym after Christmas as well. Very open to suggestion and ideas to shift the bulge. Would be good to have a few buddies though. Anyone fancy joining in?

Ooh how exciting!
Im going to wait to get a clear one to tell dh!

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 17:30

Omg Holly its a line!!!! Can we have a breakdown of your symptoms (for all us twwers drivinv ourselves mad!)

Heyitsholly · 15/01/2017 17:41

Not many to be honest confused.
Increased discharge slightly and my very wobbly belly is firm above the belly button but that may be as ive had dd before.

Really want a better one to confirm it tho!

Wiggleyfingers · 15/01/2017 17:42

Ahhh Holly that's definitely a BFP! How exciting!! How many DPO are you?! Looking forward to seeing a morning test tomorrow!

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 18:01

Argh!! Congratulations Holly!! Definitely looks like a hint of a line. Smile

HeyJupiter · 15/01/2017 18:07

Wow holly massive congratulations! the first line of the thread :) Good luck for your test tomorrow, fingers crossed for a nice strong line so you can be more convinced (seems very promising though!)

Grumpy do you think the brown spotting could be implantation bleeding? If so then testing in a couple of days sounds like an excellent idea.

Yay for everyone.

Confused I've been feeling bit miserable too today. All this bloody bloating and cramping and so stupidly emotional. I think though that's because I'm focusing on all of this constantly and the stress of that is making me a bit tearful (rather than it being baby related.) Only a few more days to hold out Flowers

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 18:09

Jupiter I'm with you on the stress of all this. I've only just started and it's literally all I can think about!!!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2017 18:12

Jupiter I don't know.. how many days after DTD / ovulation does implantation happen?

HeyJupiter · 15/01/2017 18:19

Usually between 7 and 12 with day 10 being most likely apparently. Some people earlier than 7 days though as all based on statistical averages. Makes sense if you DTD on the 7th that it could be?

Thanks Unicorn, it's rubbish isn't it, but will be worth it eventually!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2017 18:25

Wow! I didn't realise it took that long. Not gonna get my hopes up but I guess it could be!

HeyJupiter · 15/01/2017 18:32

I didn't either before embarking on all this... takes ages for the egg to fertilise, travel down the fallopian tube and then implant. As soon as it does hcg starts being released and you can take a test. Fingers crossed for you and confused on Tuesday!!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2017 18:35

Thanks.. and to think I was dead set on waiting until may now I'm hoping it might have happened already ha ha!

HeyJupiter · 15/01/2017 18:38

It's all too tempting isn't it. I don't think I could wait a minute longer if I came onto this board and wasn't already TTC. All the discussion adds to the broodiness even more!

MrsC2017 · 15/01/2017 18:44

Just did first OPK and it's negative, app says Wednesday is ov day though so I guess it's to be expected, will try again tomorrow!

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 15/01/2017 18:48

Wow holly how exciting. I do see a hint of a line there. I can see why you'd want to test again to see if it's darker tomorrow though. Does your DH have no idea you've tested then? I think I might do that - test on my own and then tell him in a special way. Chuffed for you!! 😃

Yep that's a positive. Congrats Holly!

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 18:53

Fx for you grumpy!

It's definitely all consuming. Like equal parts excitement and terror (fear that it won't happen, fear that it will and I won't know what I'm doing!) feeling more positive this evening. The months I spent in limbo (not ttc, but knowing we would soon) were really annoying. So feel for all in that position!

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 19:02

So after Hollys success with testing i want to know if you ladies can see a line... i know you should disregard a line if it comes up after the time but i guess (the ttc psycho) in me is hopeful!

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 19:03

Sorry forgot to add the photos Grin

Excitement and terror is right. It didn't take long to conceive DD (5 cycles) but long enough for me to stress that something was wrong. For example I was quite the harlot in my early-mid twenties and convinced myself that I'd probably caught chlamydia and my tubes were fucked. You can go a bit nuts when it's consuming your every thought. Hoping for a slightly more chilled approach this time round!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 15/01/2017 19:05

Confused i can see a shadow of a line but not sure if it has colour? Definitely test again in the morning!!

I just got a weird rush of fluid thought it was AF but it's clear! So odd

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 19:06

Confused I think maybe... (don't want to get your hopes up too much!) Grin Assume you'll test again in a few days?!

Oysterbabe · 15/01/2017 19:07

I can see a hint of something Confused. I don't whether it's an indent but I can see something. I'd wait a couple of days and test with fmu.

DancingUnicorn · 15/01/2017 19:08

I've had that before grumpy ! I think usually more in the middle of cycle. I think I need to start documenting better!!

confusedat23 · 15/01/2017 19:10

I know testing at 9dpo is bad! Sad I'm such a silly person i didn't think there would be anything there bit they were cheap and it got rid of the urge! This was with FMU today so i am not sure whether to use another one tomorrow morning or still wait till tuesday?
