Hi all, we are planning on TTC in the new year. Before that I want to get a bit healthier lose three stone and generally be in the best shape possible to get pregnant and run around after a baby. Is anyone else in the same boat? Would you be up for a little thread to keep us all on track? Planning on doing a dry January as a kick start and then will be dragging my arse to the gym after Christmas as well. Very open to suggestion and ideas to shift the bulge. Would be good to have a few buddies though. Anyone fancy joining in?

Grumpy excellent news either way!

confusedat23 · 12/01/2017 21:18

I think I am going to stick with OPKs for a few days to see if they get stronger or not before wasting money on HPT but of they do keep getting stronger I will consider investing... i even dug out my post ov one to make sure it was white as white! Lol

Grumpy i am so excited for you either way hun!

Mummyme87 · 12/01/2017 21:25

I did an OPK 10dpo got a negative, put picked up LH just wasn't strong enough to be positive. I did it thinking it was a HPT 😫 Got so excited then realised it said ovulation on it 😞

I have tonsillitis. How can I dtd when I feel this rough. A long day co-ordinating delivery suite has not helped my illness 😒

TheGrumpySquirrel · 12/01/2017 21:31

Mummy are you a midwife? Sorry to hear you are feeling rough

confusedat23 · 12/01/2017 21:32

Omg Mummy are you a midwife? Thats amazing!!

Wiggleyfingers · 12/01/2017 21:34

Don't panic confused I've read it's quite common to get a surge just before AF. How many days until you're expecting it?
I got two lines on my OPK today!! So relieved, I can finally relax. Silly how much my happiness depended on a second line.
We have had a sprinkling of snow here in the South East! Not enough for a snow day off work tomorrow though...

DancingUnicorn · 12/01/2017 21:43

Stupid question... what is HPT?

DancingUnicorn · 12/01/2017 21:45

Oh wait, got it!

I just treated myself to a nice rare steak... Might as well before the tww and potentially a long stretch without at some point in the near future!

HeyJupiter · 12/01/2017 21:48

Yay Wiggley I'm so happy for you! All too familiar with OPK related mood swings :)

Heyitsholly · 12/01/2017 21:48

My friend found out she was pg from an opk. She did it and it was so strong she had to hpt. She hadnt even had a period after her last child.

HeyJupiter · 12/01/2017 21:49

Enjoy your steak! When my AF comes I'm going to have rare steak and a glass of red wine (silver lining if not pregs)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 12/01/2017 21:53

H P T is what? Something Preg Test?

confusedat23 · 12/01/2017 21:54

I am due on in about a week Wiggley so very early days to be symptom spotting but i just feel odd... im desperatly trying not to get my hopes up bug i'm my own worst enemy lol... was your test line darker than your control line? Im so glad it can put your mind at rest now!

Holly if it goes back to being a positive i will deffo do a HPT.. thats crazy though 2 bubbies so close together!

confusedat23 · 12/01/2017 21:55

Its a Home Pregnancy Test Grumpy

TheGrumpySquirrel · 12/01/2017 21:57

Ahhh! Thanks Grin

buzzmoon · 12/01/2017 22:04

Wow you girls have been busy! Been away for work last few days and not had a chance to see what you're all up to! Will catch up tomorrow but hope you're all well! 😘

Redpony1 · 12/01/2017 22:11

I want proper symptoms like everyone else Sad

Tongue all back to normal now thankfully, just 2 sore patches on it. Odd!

DancingUnicorn · 12/01/2017 22:21

Jupiter I think I'm going to have to do something great and more difficult if pregnant when AF arrives each month. Pub/steak/buckets of coffee! I'm trying really hard to remember that it's not likely to happen this month!

MrsC2017 · 12/01/2017 22:37

unicorn I totally forgot about the coffee thing when pregnant, I honestly won't be able to get out of bed Hmm
red glad your tongue is better, very odd!
confusedI'm super excited for you!

mummy look after yourself, tonsillitis is not a barrel of laughs, u poor thing
holly Omg we call that Irish twins if your babies are less than a year apart, same happened my cousin, my jaw literally dropped when she told me as I was cuddling her teeny 3month old!

Heyitsholly · 12/01/2017 22:38

Confused i think hers are just over a year apart. But i know a lady who had a baby in april 15 &16 shes now ttc again.
I think my post birth bleeding hadnt stopped and she was already pg!

Its snowing here!

DancingUnicorn · 12/01/2017 22:39

MrsC I did read that some coffee would be ok, but I guess different people will come to different conclusions... I also feel that I want something infinitely more once somebody tells me I'm not allowed it!!!

Mummyme87 · 12/01/2017 22:39

Yeah Grumpy and Confused, I'm a midwife on delivery suite and birth centre 🙃

I have EWCM, sore pelvis and hips today. Think I'm CD12 today. Will need to dtd tomorrow otherwise missing the boat completely for this month. Hoping we're saving all the quality sperm 🙏🏻

TheGrumpySquirrel · 13/01/2017 07:01

That's really cool mummy we will all be asking you for advice lol!

Mrs there is no way I'm not drinking coffee! 1 coffee is definitely ok, FGS

DancingUnicorn · 13/01/2017 07:08

Grumpy me too, don't worry. I am currently trying to cut back a little though, but mainly because I drink unreasonable amounts ATM!

HeyJupiter · 13/01/2017 07:45

I think there are some NHS guideline about caffeine and it definitely isn't a no-no. I'm not going to give up my cups of tea (although I've cut back to 2-3 a day whilst in 2ww and will prob try to get down to 1-2 if and when get pregnant).

What's the view on dying hair (in a salon) when pregnant? I know it's deemed to be okay but also when I google there is loads of warnings about it during the first trimester. I've got appointment booked for end of January so will know either way by then whether I'm pregnant or not. If I am I'm going to have to have a think about what I do... any thoughts guys? I'm not really a hair dye sort of person normally but treat myself every 6 months and get some highlights done.

All my weird symptoms (cramping, dizziness, chills) have all gone this morning. I took a lower dose of folic acid last night so wonder whether that may have a bearing. I am very emotional though and cried at an episode of dragons den last night which lets face it is quite an odd thing to do.

Have lovely day all
