Hi all, we are planning on TTC in the new year. Before that I want to get a bit healthier lose three stone and generally be in the best shape possible to get pregnant and run around after a baby. Is anyone else in the same boat? Would you be up for a little thread to keep us all on track? Planning on doing a dry January as a kick start and then will be dragging my arse to the gym after Christmas as well. Very open to suggestion and ideas to shift the bulge. Would be good to have a few buddies though. Anyone fancy joining in?

Haha grumpy! An enjoy your body hen do! ;)

I'm going to be away with work most of this week (and month)... restaurant eating is going to be a big test! And trying to avoid too much wine, especially as most of my time away will fall in my tww!!

confusedat23 · 09/01/2017 20:39

Oh no Grumpy i'm not going to be a SAHM lol i could never afford that! Tbh i tried to build a career and im the 6 years i have been working i have lost 4 jobs due to being made redundant/having no work so i kind of just gave up and i was offered the chance to lose my job with
No redundancy yet again or take this higher paid no progession job in security... and honestly i have never been so relieved to not try and climb the ladder lol... i decided i will try again once we have a baby or 2 as i was just unlucky during the recession... but yeah your 2nd post was right about balacing it as i believe it is really important for a child to go to playgroup/nursery for development

Ooo Mrs and Grumpy i am so jealous! I really want a babymoon! And dw you wont be a beached whale!! Why arnt my family understanding Hmm

Buzz grumpy is right... i spent my Hen do not drinking because I had a stomach bug and i thought it was ok until SIL threw me a house party to get wasted... now that was a hen do!!

buzzmoon · 09/01/2017 20:39

Yeah I deffo can't afford to be big! Dress barely fits now!
Just so desperate to start, can't see a baby without feeling so emotional!

DancingUnicorn · 09/01/2017 20:44

Baby moon sounds like a good idea! Funny, as I'd been thinking thank if I get pregnant it meant I probably wouldn't get a holiday this year, goes to show how wrong I was! Although cannot cope with heat... so maybe not such a good idea for me!

HeyJupiter · 09/01/2017 20:45

buzzmoon I know what you mean. Went to 2 year olds birthday party on saturday and was surrounded by babies and toddlers. Left feeling very broody and emotional! Lovely and exciting though. The time will fly by honestly.

buzzmoon · 09/01/2017 21:08

Yeah you're right! Luckily going all incl as well and I like to get my money's worth!
And you're right too, we shouldn't wish these months away, we have lots of baby planning to do! And I suppose dtd isn't a too bad past time!

Oysterbabe · 09/01/2017 21:16

I conceived DD in Barbados on honeymoon. Maybe we'll have to go back to try for this one Grin

confusedat23 · 09/01/2017 21:38

After a long hard chat with DH about the benefits of buying some baby stuff in the sale now etc he actually agreed! But only as long as its a very sizeable chunk off!...

He's even told mr to go to mothercare tomorrow evening as it will be nice for me Hmm... im sure it has nothing to do with him getting uninterrupted video game time!

Awhhh Buzz i am sure its not as snug as you think! I actually gained about 6 pounds for my wedding and my dress was like a glove when i gor it and i still got it on!

Dancing you could always go somewhere a bit cooler for a babymoon!

buzzmoon · 09/01/2017 21:53

Confused going to mothercare will be amazing! That makes it so real! Your DH sounds lovely even if he might have ulterior motives!

confusedat23 · 09/01/2017 22:09

There has been a lot of hard work from both sides Buzz to get to where we are now lol... but yeah he is lovely and i think secretly very excited about TTC... we work on a compromise... i want to use some of the savings now to get this stuff so he can have some of the savings for his computer stuff

Im having to set myself a budget though and i think i am going to take cash so I can't be tempted by the credit card! Lol

Wiggleyfingers · 10/01/2017 06:33

Wow so exciting confused! What's top of your shopping list? I keep resisting the urge to buy odd little bits and stash them away at the back of the cupboard. I've decided to try to do something extra for planning ttc each month (on top of eating healthily). This month is OPKs, next month I will start my preconception vitamins so maybe in March I will allow myself to buy something small as a treat for being so patient

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/01/2017 06:41

Possible tmi alert Blush lots of thick jelly like mucus - never seen anything like it before. Anyone else? 15 days off cerazette now.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/01/2017 07:04

In other news my bloating has gone down significantly. Almost back to normal! Woop!

Mummyme87 · 10/01/2017 07:04

Ovulation?

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 10/01/2017 07:06

All this talk of babymoons got me thinking - spoke to DH and we are discussing the idea of getting passed the 12week mark before our Africa trip so TTC march instead of aug potentially! Very exciting. Going to get my implant out tomorrow so will discuss with doc and see what she thinks. Must not get overexcited.

That would be great if it was mummy - I don't recall getting this in the past (pre pill) though. Certainly not this amount of it

I read the clear blue fertility monitor instructions but you can't start using it until you get a period as you have to set up a cycle.

DancingUnicorn · 10/01/2017 07:39

Grumpy I'm trying to remember back, and do think I got a bit more mucus than usual post cerezette. (I think any kind of mucus seemed like loads as had seen none for so long) It took a full month for anything resembling a period.

Oo, that's so exciting! It's so hard to wait once you've made the decision to ttc. Hopefully doc says there's no problem with bringing it forward! :)

DancingUnicorn · 10/01/2017 07:41

Also grumpy I think bloating going down is good sign! I remember feeling it when I came off (bloating, sore boobs, general yuk!) Hopefully a sign things are regulating for you!!

Sshsecretenclosed · 10/01/2017 07:55

I'm 11 days off combined pill Logynon Grumpy and I'm ever so bloated! Not much discharge at all though. I'm worried that this body of mine won't kick start. TMI but I feel dry down there shuts eyes!

JB1983 · 10/01/2017 07:57

Sounds like EWCM grmupy so you are probably in your fertile week/ovulating. Fingers crossed that's what it is! Smile

TheresAlwaysTimeForTea · 10/01/2017 08:01

Ah Grumpy hope it's ovulation! Fingers crossed for you.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/01/2017 08:06

Thanks guys! Well we DTD properly this morning (struggling to find a good phrase for this...) so it looks like "not actively trying" for us just means seeing what happens.. DH face afterwards.. "what if this works?!" Grin

If / when AF arrives I'll start tracking with the CBFM aiming to conceive in may but not going to be upset if it accidentally happens in the mean time

confusedat23 · 10/01/2017 08:11

Wiggley It is very exciting! I have allowed myself £150 for tonights shopping spree! I have decided to get all the stuff for bottle making (As I am going to do a combination of bottle and breast fed). It is all on half price at mother care at the moment because Tommee Tippee are bringing out a new range.. but overall it saves like £150 buying the stuff on sale and SIL managed fine with it all! What OPK's are you buying?

Grumpy Do not panic it is EWCM! also you might be losing a pill induced plug, I did about 2 weeks before my first post pill AF which would line up with Ov dates... Time to get shagging!!! Wink

Theres That sounds like a perfect idea! Also there must be some safaris that would be suitable for someone with a small bump?

HeyJupiter · 10/01/2017 08:19

Grumpy that's great! Is it sort of stretchy? Then definitely EWCM! Things sound like they're regulating nicely.

My DH had a "oh my god what if this actually happens?!" last night. I'm 1DPO today (am counting yesterday as day I ovulated after getting peak on OPK the day before) and hope we DTD enough over the last five days. If it's not TMI we did it on -3,-1,and ovulation day yesterday. Ovia now saying that -2 most fertile day so hope we haven't missed the boat..this is all so complicated!

HeyJupiter · 10/01/2017 08:20

Theres that's so so exciting!! March is practically tomorrow :)
