Getting ready for baby challenge

Hi all, we are planning on TTC in the new year. Before that I want to get a bit healthier lose three stone and generally be in the best shape possible to get pregnant and run around after a baby. Is anyone else in the same boat? Would you be up for a little thread to keep us all on track? Planning on doing a dry January as a kick start and then will be dragging my arse to the gym after Christmas as well. Very open to suggestion and ideas to shift the bulge. Would be good to have a few buddies though. Anyone fancy joining in?

Red was Cerelle a minipill? Did u have monthly breaks with it? We tried the whole condom thing and it worked for maybe a month lol... i could never do a sex ban though! Also I am feeling much better thanks i'm just not sure what is wrong with MIL sometimes!

Grumpy I completely get the waiting to tell people bit! We will have to wait until at least 12 weeks anyway as I am high risk at making babies with Neural tube defects and they can tell then which can mean the baby has to be aborted But hopefully we will be in the all clear and even then I am not sure when we will spill the beans!
I did not realise DD Grumpy was 11! I bet she is really excited because she will be able to be hands on etc

Theres you are so lucky to have a gym in your building! If I didn't have to go far I would actually go to the gym lol

Confused I believe Cerelle is a Mini Pill - i'm not clued up on what differences are, except i has no monthly break with it.

TMI here, but my wipes today have been slightly dis-coloured, maybe AF is on its way! What has my life come to?! I'd never have checked my tissues before joining MN

I'm definitely not telling anyone we are TTC, & will wait until i can't hide it any longer to tell people when we do conceive! I'm pretty good at keeping secrets

Theres what a great facility to have! I think even I would find it hard to make excuses in that situation. I have failed on the exercise front today. We had an INSET day so lots of sitting around and very little steps achieved. Although I am celebrating my self control over the lunch time buffet. There were so many goodies but I kept on thinking about that baby body!

Yep it's a mini pill I was on the same one. No break, no oestrogen. It's a high dose progesterone only pill that suppresses ovulation and thickens cervical mucus.

Will check mooncup tonight and find out if this is real AF or more randomness for now.. never thought I'd be eager to get a period! Good luck red to you too!

I made an appt to get my implant out today. Going next weds. Not entirely convinced the receptionist understood what I meant so fingers crossed they actually do remove it! I'm hoping my metabolism returns to normal once it's out too!

Ooh exciting times theres! How long have you had the implant for? Fingers crossed for a quick return for your metabolism. I've just had a chocolate binge! So sad with myself

Red i think because mini pill you don't have a break it can take a long time for your AF to come back... this is probably so gross but have you had a feel around for CM sometimes if AF is coming you can tell very easily that way!

Wiggley have you thought about telling someone just so it's easier to hide from everyone else?

Grumpy keep us updated when you check the mooncup? That reminds me I saw on another thread someone used a mooncup to try and hold sperm up near the cervix after DTD! Seems like a genius idea to me! Also thanks hun! Me and DH have always been very open and honest and are prepared. We have also both agreed we would like to adopt if we are unsuccessful on more than one occasion but I think everything will be fine and stating positive envisaging a healthy happy bump lol

Theres I hope they will be able to take your implant out no problems. How long have you had it in for?

Sorry everyone I think I missed the boat yesterday with my first Monday report! I did weigh myself, just forgot to post. I was 10st9.2lb yesterday morning which was less than I thought I would be.
My plan is the get back into running during January and do the 30 day shred in February ready to come off the pill at the beginning of March.
I went for my first run in 2 months last night and today I ACHE!!!!!

I guess it is like having a toddler! awhhh Grumpy I don't evny you hun... does she do the same when DH asks her? Don't feel guilty though she is just a whole bunch of hormones and giving her responsibilities like helping cook is good for her

I know.. we are trying to stay firm but kind! She's even worse with DH to be honest. She's gone to sleep now so I think she must have been exhausted by lazing around all day

That's a good sign grumpy! I've been doing lots of googling about brown clots recently as I usually have at least a couple of days of it before I get AF. Wasn't sure if it was normal. I didn't have a period for 4 years whilst on the coil so I feel like I'm learning the basics all over again! Fingers crossed for you. Also don't beat yourself up about the glass of wine! sounds like you needed it!

One day she will understand Grumpy but yeah if she is asleep she was probably really tired also! Do you think she could be stressed about going back to school?

Yay! I used to get very clotty periods on the normal pill and forgot just how wet (sorry!) a normal AF could be! Hopefully that lining gets shot and you will be on your way to trying not to concieve until April! Lol

Thanks guys ., I've had headaches today and yesterday and I never get them. Also still bloated. I think my hormones are confused. This is the boring waiting bit! I might treat myself to an ov test on the CB fertility monitor in a couple of weeks. It's frustrating not being able to start cycle day counting.

Yes DD could be a bit emotional about end of holidays I think.

I'm hoping they know what to do with this implant too. I don't think they're common over here. I had mine put in in the UK. I've had it for just over three years but think it expired in October. My friend had hers out and said it was sore as she had grown scar tissue over it so I'm hoping that doesn't happen to me! I need to take the morning off work to go too - don't want to flag to my boss what I'm up to either!

Diet wise - doing ok today. Had an omelette for brekkie. Having grilled chicken and salad for lunch (although we've gone to an Iranian restaurant so not sure what to expect - might have oil etc) and then for dinner I'll probably have leftover Diet Coke chicken as still not done my big shop!

Update - I do not recommend Iranian chicken. It was like grizzly rat meat. On the plus side this meant I only had a few bites so the diet is going exceptionally well today!
