Thread 22. TTC #1 - The one where the BFPs rolled in & long may it continue

Calling all Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers, IUI-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Hi girls

Just been having a good old read. I've missed you!

Hugs and Flowers alexia and hep BFNs are harder at Christmas, it's official. I was all bravado last week but deep down I was praying I was pregnant. It's a punch to the gut when AF comes, every time.

I've had a few good cries and a few good days of not (really) thinking about it. Even forgotten what CD I'm on. Got my GP appointment tomorrow so am focusing on that, and going through all the questions in my head.

Tree is up and lovely and our flat is filled with lovely festive candles and fairy lights. Not being pregnant has never spoiled Christmas before, so it's not going to now! It's also my birthday next week and I'm determined to enjoy that too. If I need a little cry that's fine, but I'll get my chin back up afterwards.

PMA today is: Here is to 2017 and all of us getting our BFPs Star. We are going to need a mahoosive grads thread which we will need to renew at least once a week, with all of our lovely pregnancy chat!

xxx

HepKestrel · 14/12/2016 12:03

Hello jam
love your pma ! I agree, 2017 is going to be good!

FXSkip · 14/12/2016 14:36

YES!! Jam I can't wait to all be on a grads thread....and then a toddler thread - I hope we're all still friends when our babies are all grown up and we'll be like 'remember wombles and boob poking? - lol that was fun'

Hep no news might just be good news. FX for you.

Kathrino · 14/12/2016 15:13

Yes, I am all about the PMA for the new year. There's been a lot of fun stuff that's happened this year that wouldn't have been possible with a baby in tow so you just have to trust that it's meant to be. Here's to all of us in 2017!

sk1pper · 14/12/2016 15:13

I want to be on a grads thread, if only to stress over new things. TTC is so boring now, were like veterans of something you should never be a veteran of. Sometimes I read other threads by TTC newbies and think...hmm, I used to be this innocent and excited but not any more. I'm not being negative or anything, well not trying to be, I am just impressed by what I've learnt and how dedicated I've been - the same can be said for everyone on here.

Skippy1000 · 14/12/2016 15:28

Hi...my stats are...
ttc 12m
cycles vary from 28 - 42 days.
Currently day 6dpo & going crazy!!!! Smile

MouseLove · 14/12/2016 15:32

Ah FX, different kind of out. Consciously not TTC now this cycle and I'll just wait for AF and my scan on New Years. Kinda disappointed but I suppose I should have been taking Naproxen anyways. I think I'll make an appointment for my prescription, might mean me being out next cycle too. Sad

sk1pper · 14/12/2016 15:42

Uh oh...our third skip!! This is going to get confusing Grin

Welcome Skippy!

HepKestrel · 14/12/2016 15:44

welcome skippy !

FXSkip · 14/12/2016 16:00

Hi Skippy good name :) We need your age please and a bus ticket (when AF is due) to add you to SkipsStats.

Sorry mouse I'd misunderstood. Naproxen is pretty serious stuff, hopefully it sorts you out.

Kathrino · 14/12/2016 16:04

Welcome skippy :)

kwick · 14/12/2016 16:22

mouse I Know it is disappointing but prob good to get MRI out of the way?
I am curious as why you have been told to take naproxen? Take a look at the contra-indications - impacting fertility is one of them... tell me about - I had been taking for years for period pain, without reading properly...

Welcome back jam! That IS the spirit!!! Good luck at drs tomorrow.

Welcome skippy!!!

Just about to take off for Blighty... am shattered... plane is rammed Sad I had more space on Ryanair on the way out... at least the food is free on BA!

kwick · 14/12/2016 19:13

Am back... waiting for Heathrow Express!

Kathrino · 14/12/2016 19:58

Welcome back kwick, that was your last trip of the year wasn't it? Woohoo!

sk1pper · 14/12/2016 20:16

Just marzipaned my Christmas cake...feeling festive and productive.Xmas Smile

Skippy1000 · 14/12/2016 20:51

EJ2009 · 14/12/2016 21:24

Nice evening skipper

I went swimming and had the pool & spa area to myself so had a jacuzzi after then was the one one who turned up for yoga so had a 1:1 yoga session. I feel lovely now.

Pugmummy87 · 14/12/2016 22:53

Alexia so sorry. Hope you are OK. Flowers

Hep hope you find out one way or the other soon.

Loving the PMA mouse!
I WILL be pregnant in 2017!

Have sorted swab mishap out. Also got DH's semen analysis results, all normal. He had 528 million sperm count in that one sample. 528 million! I must have very shy eggs I reckon lol.

As soon as Christmas is over and I am going back to gym and healthy eating. Not even waiting for new year and my birthday. I feel sluggish and horrible.

InspectorPenguin · 14/12/2016 23:27

Evening all, thought I'd better check into this thread since I didn't manage to on the last:

Name: Inspector
Age: 36
TTC: #1 since Feb 2016.
CD: 25/6DPO
Tests: SA normal; HSG clear; AMH 112 pmol Shock; PCO identified but no confirmation of PCOS (yet).
Next steps: Consultant appointment to discuss all results and any potential treatment in early Jan
Method: OPKs and lots of sex for as much of the month as possible (not always easy with DP's shifts). Tried temping for a few days but it didn't agree with me at all. Don't get enough EWCM to use as a sign.

Loving the renewed PMS Jam and Alexia, you are awesome and have clearly been taking lessons from Kwik and her positive mantras. Good work.

I know having hopes dashed at Christmas must be doubly devastating (I am gearing up for it myself next Thurs Hmm) but at least we can look forward to a fresh start in 2017 where we can mentally wipe the slate clean and look forward to success instead of reflecting in the year's unsuccessful cycles.

And we mustn't lose sight of the really important things in life. Health, happiness, our loved ones; these are what really matter and what many others don't have. One look at the Relationships board on here shows you what devastating situations many people are in. I for one am massively glad my life doesn't reflect where I was at in 2013/14!

Welcome Skippy! You should find yourself in like company here. Best of luck in getting your long awaited BFP very soon.

Sorry to hear you need to put a pause on the baby-making, Mouse, but - see above - health comes first!

Kwik, you're home for Christmas now! Woop woop! I honestly do not know how you handle your schedule at all. I am permanently shattered from my commute from the south coast to London.

Sorry that is a terrible attempt at replying to the last seven pages of posts but I am knackered and my eyes are starting to close... Got our team Christmas do tomorrow so only half a day at the office before enforced cheeriness and feeling guilty about drinking at 7DPO. Not quite guilty enough to abstain, though...

Skippy1000 · 15/12/2016 07:41

Well said InspectorPenguin about new year being a fresh start, and about what's important in life - couldn't agree more.
Hoping I'll pick up some of your gals PMA over tinternet!

FXSkip · 15/12/2016 08:20

Penguin that's what I call a come-back!! Welcome back and thank you for your amazing pma reminder. Fx all your investigations lead to a sticky bfp for you soon

MouseLove · 15/12/2016 08:48

Morning!
Hope everyone is gearing up for the weekend, I know I am!!!!! Works Christmas party is tonight, I'm not going. My hips gave in last night at a gig and I ended up shuffling back to the car in agony. Sad

Kwick that's why the docs wanted me to try naproxen for 4-6 weeks to see if it would help with my joint pain. I've put it off because I know it's not good for me really. I don't want to be dependant on a pain killer that pretty much dashes my chances even further. I'm pretty sure it's going to take me a while to conceive with all my other problems so this is just another wtf on top. It's going to be awkward when I go see the doc after my scan... I just nodded and agreed in the last meeting. I might go to my GP but not cash in the prescription. Difficult decision.

I think I ovulated yesterday btw, lots of EWCM, bit of aching on my right side but I was in that much discomfort last night it could have been anything. No DTD for me this week. I'm feeling a little silly that I didn't listen to my DH and try to get this all sorted earlier in the year. Poor timing on my part.

BUT. I will be pregnant in 2017. I'm determined to be!! Now my body just has to get on the same page!!

Binkybunny13 · 15/12/2016 08:56

Penguin great PMA- yes we will!

Mouse sorry you're in so much pain Sad Hope they get you feeling stronger soon, and that with that the TTC just happens when your body is in a better place Flowers

I'm on my last pack of pregnacare- when I bought it last on 3 for 2, I thought "oh I'll be pregnant before I get through 6 months of it, never mind I'll pass it on to someone".

Ha bloody ha, how wrong I was!

kwick · 15/12/2016 09:05

In theory it was the last trip kathrino!!!

sk1pper you are a domestic goddess!!!

EJ I do not want to rain on your parade but jacuzzis or saunas and the like are not recommended during 2ww! Not sure if you are in it but just wanted to flag.

Wow pug that is amazeballs magic potion Grin

Great points and PMA inspector I duly award you a kwick Cake

I just had day 11 scan - before it started I told Dr (as I often do) what she will find: lovely juicy follicles - and she did! She agreed I was nice a juicy Grin with 1 follicle at 16mm, another at 15mm and a lining at 8.6mm

Now I just need to control my stress levels (all work related) and chant sanskrit. This has been a fricking tough year and I really hope next year is better.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Kathrino · 15/12/2016 09:31

Welcome back Penguin! Love the happy thinking. I'm sure all these good thoughts flying around this thread are doing us all the power of good.

Mouse, I have a lot of sympathy for you. I had to go into some medication a few years ago which it would have been dangerous to TTC on/for a while after and it was a really hard decision to take. Ultimately though, you have to do what's best for your body. I think it's also really easy to underestimate the impact that pain has on your physical and mental health too and the stress that it puts you under. Good luck with whatever you decide to do and I hope you feel better soon.

Kwick, hurrah for lovely juicy follicles! Good work!

AF has finally buggered off here and DH (who has been working away during the week for the last few months) came back early this week and isn't going away again until the new year so I'm pretty happy. Plus I'm finishing for Christmas tomorrow so only two days of work to go!
