Thread 22. TTC #1 - The one where the BFPs rolled in & long may it continue

Calling all Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers, IUI-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Funnily enough mouse the nausea did not last out the morning Grin
I can do some of my job without the travel but much of what I do is about the in person contact - hence all the fricking travel to 29 units in 6 countries... there is going to be a re-org soon but I am not sure if any non-travel jobs will come up...
what to do? Confused

Pugmummy87 · 30/12/2016 21:08

OMG KWICK!!!!!! I let out a screech of excitement when I saw your post. So many congratulations!

I would definitely encourage you to go to your GP and ask for a note to not travel. It's not the travelling per se that's an issue, rather the stress it causes you.

sk1pper · 30/12/2016 21:33

Mouse - you need to spin this on its head. Your friend had PCOS and got pregnant. ANYTHING is possible, you'll be soon - PMA!

Kwick - id try and stay completely chilled and relax for your first 12 weeks so may be a good idea.

Yes! Glad lots of you are in on the healthy eating regime. A good substitute for tea is fruit tea and organic decaffinated tea. The fruit tea I normally drink is raspberry leaf tea (though only until ovulation as it can induce your period). It thickens your womb lining for the eggs. And the organic decaf tea I buy is Clippers. It MUST be organic, otherwise they use nasty chemicals to bleach the caffeine out.

kwick · 30/12/2016 21:43

Oh shaizer sk1pper I normally buy the non- organic decaff - will swap out tomorrow!!!!
For other drinks I have pukka - they have a 3 cinnamon one which is delicious (and cinnamon is fertility boosting) and many other lovely flavours.

sk1pper · 30/12/2016 21:53

Yeah Kwick definitely swap to organic now you have a wee litttle bean growing inside you. That cinnamon tea sounds delish, will check it out.

miwelaisjacydo · 30/12/2016 21:54

Get a sick note quick Qwick 😀 No seriously am sure your Dr would do one to stop you traveling for work.

Kwick

Kathrino · 30/12/2016 22:07

I am definitely in for healthy eating in Jam! DH is away during the week normally and I struggle to find the motivation to cook healthy dinners just for me. A lot of my meals consist almost entirely of carbs + cheese.

Oh mouse, I'm so sorry for your friend. How awful Flowers

Kwick, what would the reaction at work be if you couldn't travel? Over the last few months, my employer has become increasingly inflexible about things like that. That said, obviously you and your BFP are the most important thing though so you need to do whatever is best for you.

kwick · 30/12/2016 22:12

Good point kathrino... they probably would not be too happy but I think I need to put this first...

Ladies - thanks for great comments - keep them coming!!!
Not so sure GP will be that sympathetic but I am willing to make a fuss to get what I need.

Kathrino · 30/12/2016 22:24

It's really really shit to have to try and make these kind of decisions kwick. I've always been a strong advocate of being able to balance family/career but various events over the last few months have shown me how difficult it can be. That's partly though because everyone accepts the status quo without challenging whether e.g. travelling is really needed so you might find people are more sympathetic than you expect.

EJ2009 · 30/12/2016 22:45

Oh i switched to decaf twinnings a while ago as it's the most pallatable decaf tea. It seems i need another switch. I only ever drink tea and water and occasdional wine so cant lose my tea fix.

Londonjam · 30/12/2016 22:48

Sign me up for healthy eating January! Soup recipes welcomed!!

Londonjam · 30/12/2016 22:50

Kwick if you can cut back travel - please do it! You sound exhausted and stressed on your travels. Bean comes first now.

HepKestrel · 30/12/2016 23:06

kwick I don't travel as much as you for work, but can I ask what is the stressful parts for you? I.e. catching flight, the flight itself, being away from home, the work itself , the duration of the trip, etc? If you can reduce your travels and identify aspects to reduce stress during the trips.

OrangeCloud18 · 30/12/2016 23:15

Congratulations kwick ! This is amazing news !!

Can I be added to the list ? I am January 7th.

I'll join on the healthy eating once I am done eating the chocolate I got for Christmas Grin

My OH says I eat too much rice and pasta instead of vegetables...

MouseLove · 30/12/2016 23:30

Thanks Sk1p that's so true, I guess I just feel so gutted for her. They are a wonderful couple, and it's close to home. I think it was DHs comment that threw me over the edge, I think he thinks it's his fault im not insta-preggo so I'll need to address that.

AF still not here, had a twitching womble and one hurting boob which is a bit weird. Scan might coax it out of me with its magnet powers. 🙈

sk1pper · 30/12/2016 23:46

I understand Mouse - it is tough when something like this happens, especially when you are struggling with your own TTC issues, it just impounds all the negatives further. Try and support them as best you can, like you do with us lot. Do they know you're TTC?

My OH was convinced it was him too until we got the results of the SA - I think it's a guy thing.

MouseLove · 31/12/2016 00:00

They kinda know we're TTC. And I've mentioned it tonight to her as we lightly joked about comparing scans tomorrow. 😕 but I don't think they really know since they were not TTC. I'll be glad when this cycle is over. The waiting is draining. CD34 tomorrow.

Hippychic79 · 31/12/2016 06:52

Thank you for the tea tips ladies xxx
Kwick - I got made redundant 3 years ago after 11 years of working my ass off for a company and it made me realise that no job is worth your personal health and happiness ... cut down the travel and look after that bean... when I said congratulations I had forgotten your stats (sorry you read so many on here and I'm new so please forgive me)... I would like to rephrase.... a massive humungous congratulations to you xxxx
Flowers for you mouse and for your friend xxxxx

MouseLove · 31/12/2016 09:20

Ok ok this is negative right? I'm a complete mess.

Musicgrrl · 31/12/2016 09:52

No mouse it's definitely not negative!!! Wowser! Such incredible news! And in the cycle you weren't even trying! Are you going to cancel your scan?? Smile

MrsG280516 · 31/12/2016 09:58

MOUSE!!!!!! That's a BFP GrinGrinGrin

sk1pper · 31/12/2016 10:01

Hippychic79 · 31/12/2016 10:02

MissyJones83 · 31/12/2016 10:03

mouse I'm no expert at reading tests as I have never done one before however I can see 2 lines and I'm pretty sure I think I know what that means!!!! And comments here already seem to think the same Grin
