Thread 22. TTC #1 - The one where the BFPs rolled in & long may it continue

AlexiaB · 10/12/2016 13:02

Calling all Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers, IUI-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Ah thanks guys! Haha Skip I am definitely not ready for a 6 month old on my hands yet - need to actually get round to buying some baby stuff for a start!!

Alexia you will be on the grad thread one day soon, I'm sure, very much deserved BFPs for every single one of you lovely lot in 2017, your time WILL come and I'm keeping everything crossed, it's a hard old slog but you will get there FlowersCakeBrewStar

Londonjam · 30/12/2016 15:39

Has anyone heard from moose at all? I wondered how she was getting on

AudreyBradshaw · 30/12/2016 16:14

I was going to offer a pic but didn't want to upset/piss anyone off jem more than happy to share one of him. Just definitely don't want to be insensitive or baby bomb.

kwick honestly he was genuinely traumatised. He said it was the weirdest thing ever because he could see both sides of the curtain! One side I'm chatting away, other side, blood, guts and carnage! I'm so so pleased for you, it really is such wonderful news for the new year.

kwick · 30/12/2016 16:43

starky I too would LOVE to see a picture!!!!

jam who is next to test?

I really do not know what I would do without you all.... so so so glad that O found my way to MN and to this thread Grin
Going to heat up my seed bottle again - feet are like ice blocks...

kwick · 30/12/2016 16:53

*I not O!!!

Kathrino · 30/12/2016 17:03

I'd love to see a pic too starky!

I've spent all afternoon playing with my best friend's 9 month old son. It's only a month since we last saw him and he's grown up so much in that time.

miw, hope you feel better soon. I went through a phase a few years ago of recurrent UTIs and one turned into a kidney infection; it was horrendous.

Lots of FlowersFlowersFlowers for you winging.

miwelaisjacydo · 30/12/2016 17:19

Would love to see a pic too.

💐Winging

Hope this story doesn't upset anyone but made me go aww

Mooseville · 30/12/2016 17:34

london I'm here (waves) Still checking up on you lovely ladies!!!

OMG kwick YES!!!!! Big smiles here for you!!! Those blumming IC are RUBBISH! There's a reason why FRER's are so expensive because they actually work!

All going well here... 18 weeks tomorrow, it is going scarily quick. I still don't feel pregnant, even though two scans have said otherwise! Really looking forward to being able to actually feel it soon so I can stop being anxious that there's nothing in there!

Girls, we want all of you on the grads thread too. Believe me, it's not the same without all of you there... That's why we can't keep away from this thread!

Londonjam · 30/12/2016 17:48

Aww moose that's sweet of you to say. That's great you are at 18 weeks already? Are you getting a little bump yet? Sorry not sure what happens when.

My tummy has definitely got bigger london but it wasn't that small to begin with so it could be explained away by Christmas excess!! Xmas Grin

LSFX for all those testing soon xx

sk1pper · 30/12/2016 18:26

Does anyone want to join me on a healthy eating regime from New Year? I've really let myself go over Christmas and my next period will be horrendous because of it. We can perhaps share recipes or ideas for healthy foods too. Pineapple will definitely be a staple food!

Hippychic79 · 30/12/2016 18:49

Thank you for the list jam :))
Just about to hit my fw in the next few days ... time to play catch the egg and the oh at the same time! Fx for all xxx
I'll join you on the healthy eating front Sk1pper but on one condition?.... do not even entertain your next period.... hopefully af will fack off for 9 months xxxx

Peaches8Posies · 30/12/2016 18:58

Been cleaning the house all day as in my mid af slump I've managed to Google every negative piece of information regarding ttc out there. Well, certainly feels that way. Anyhoo.......

kwick freaking yeeee haaaaaa!!!! Congratulations!!!! Here's to your sticky bean and a happy healthy 8/9 months GrinFlowersGrinFlowers xx

wing hope your ok. This emotional roller coaster is shit! Hugs Flowers

Hello grads (waving over) glad your doing well. Aww congratulations starky lovely news hope little L is thriving and you are keeping well.

alexia jam hope we are not warming up the benches much longer and it's the start of many bfp's for all of us still here Blush. If you can add me for test date I should be on or around 23rd.

sk1p yes! Had this discussion with OH today. Going to charge up my fitbit and start getting out and about asap. Up until last couple of weeks I've been eating healthy so happy to share my meals etc.., I find making soups is perfect for this time of year. You can cram in loads veggie goodness, it cheap easy and filling and helps keep you warm. We will all be fit and upduffed before we know it Smile

kwick · 30/12/2016 19:05

moose!!! So glad things are progessing well!

Thanks for the list jam

Just went through pinterest - loads of stuff on pregnancy... I need to start eating pinto beans!!!

I will join you sk1pper iced buns are way healthy, right?

HepKestrel · 30/12/2016 19:22

Omg kwick!!!!!!!! So happy for you!!!!

EJ2009 · 30/12/2016 19:32

sk1pper i'm in with the recipe sharing. Since i started ttc a lifetime ago i started using the natural fertility websites to see what i needed in my diet & still look on thrte a lot. I love healthy food but get stuck with meal ideas so sharing would be fab.

WingingIt83 · 30/12/2016 19:33

A ticket for 30 Jan please jam

Thanks all for the support, I feel silly that it's affecting me so much this month but guess that will pass. Had hours of cuddles with my niece today which was lovely.

Will investigate Create :-)

starky please definitely post photos!

miwelaisjacydo · 30/12/2016 19:41

I too am on a healthy eating kick. Not a diet as such because the word diet makes me put weight on!!

Am thinking - fruit for breakfast ( I hate breakfast) with a fertility boosting yoghurt
Soup with roll at lunch time and fruit/veg snack( I have annhour break at lunch so have to eat to pass the time)
Then something for tea. Am planning to cut down on caffeine too as I drink loads of Diet Coke.
Does anybody mind if I keep my AF date to myself? No idea why really.

Ps loving the list of grads 👌

MouseLove · 30/12/2016 19:51

Yes please Sk1pper sign me up. I really need to get back on track. My goal is to lose another 2 stone in 2017 taking my total to 4 stone loss total. I think it's doable. But I really need healthy food ideas that isn't salad as lettuce makes me poorly in the poop dept TMI HAHAHA. I love a good salad so I'm currently having other items for lunch. Here's what I'll start for breakfasts and lunch...

Breakfast
2 eggs scrambled

Lunch
3 ryvita crackerbreads with Philadelphia light
Cucumber slices
Cherry tomatoes
Carrot sticks
Fruit selection - berries or clementine for snacks.

Dinner
Healthy meal with meat or fish, at least 2 veg.

Trying to have... few/no hard cheeses, no bad foods, little treats, lots of pineapple. 😊

EJ2009 · 30/12/2016 20:06

The headline for 2017 will be "highstreets baffled by sudden soar in sales of slippers and pineapple"

MouseLove · 30/12/2016 20:22

Fuck. I'm sat now in tears as my friend just told me they found out she was pregnant and has had a possible miscarriage and she's going for a scan tomorrow. Fucking gutted. DH just apologised for not giving us a baby. Sorry, I just needed to vent.

kwick · 30/12/2016 20:24

LOL ej!!!!
I kinda wish I had shares in FRERs...

mouse and miw both sound ace Grin
Typical day - when in London and week day:
porridge
Homemade soup (like chicken broth with broccoli and flagolet beans) or can of lentil/other pulse soup
An apple
Runner beans and olive oil fried fish
Yoghurt

Problem is when not in London - as then I am travelling and find it much harder to control intake!

So ladies I have a dilemma- please provide your POV:

  1. I am 42
  2. Any pregnancy I have will be classed high risk due to my age
  3. I had a MC at 8 weeks in April 2016
  4. I have a highly stressful job
  5. Said job requires me to travel to continental Europe normally for 2-3 days each week (sometimes longer)
  6. Said job is very tiring - I already struggle with weight of luggage
Question: Should I, once BFP confirmed by blood test, go to GP and ask that they provide a fit for work note that excludes travel?
kwick · 30/12/2016 20:25

That is awful mouse... sadly very common Flowers

WingingIt83 · 30/12/2016 20:37

Oh mouse I'm so sorry for your friend. The very same happened to my friend earlier in the month and I was so upset too on her behalf.

kwick I know very little about you but I do know just how much emotion not to mention money you've put into this, and I'd be advocating living as stress free an existence as possible for the next 9 months. Can you do your job without the travelling?

MouseLove · 30/12/2016 20:43

Thanks ladies, hit me from both angles, she has pcos and it was a happy accident so I'm desperately gutted it hasn't stuck but also a glaring reminder of my own fertility.

Kwick, I absolutely and utterly would not travel anymore if you can. Relax as much as possible and even consider cutting hours/stress if it's an option. Have you chucked up yet? Lol
