Calling all Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers, IUI-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

kwick · 23/12/2016 21:35

Will do sk1pper!

Joys of being at my mum's - we are watching Saving Mr Banks, I get us some chocolate:
mum: "I thought you did not like chocolate"
Me "well it is not my favourite thing, but thought it would be nice to have some"
mum "but you shouldn't, it is hurting you"
I walk off and am now in the spare room. I hate the way she tries to control my eating like I am child... what a way to start Christmas Xmas Sad

jam hope you feel better soon.
No tree at mine... my mum has barely got a tree - has caused great contention with my nephew.

Sorry miranda Flowers

Wow where are you going for acupuncture hippy that it is so inexpensive?

OH MY GOD fxskip yay!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! StarStarStar hope you have a FRER at the ready for FMU!!!

Womble cramping, feel like af about to start... may just be progesterone

Londonjam · 23/12/2016 21:37

Awwwwww best Christmas Eve present EVER Xmas Smile wishing you a boring healthy happy pregnancy fxskip!

I don't temp but I just had some EWCM when I went to the loo so maybe there's still hope. I am going to leash DH as soon as he walks through the door tomorrow. Uniform off!! Or on?! Xmas Wink

sk1pper · 23/12/2016 21:55

Kwick - your mum sounds a bit of a handful Kwick, you've gotta treat yourself from time to time. Not worth falling out over though (especially just before Xmas) so try to forget about what she said and maintain the moral high ground. I hope you get a BFP too, you will be soon I'm sure of it xx

sk1pper · 23/12/2016 22:19

Wow, 2.6 units of alcohol is enough to get me borderline drunk now. I forget how strict I've been with alcohol this year.

MouseLove · 23/12/2016 23:10

Oh kwick, brush it off, go give her a hug and tell her you love her, even though she lacks tact. Xmas Grin

My mum is generally amazing but she puts her foot in it now and then. Like accidentally referring to my sister as a "beached whale" and while she was trying to get across that she was being lazy... my sister took it as a fat dig. Queue the tears!! I'm far more thick skinned so if she makes a slightly bad remark I always do something to shock her and generally unlady like to make her realise lol. On the other hand MiL is just rude.

Guys!!!!! For the next 10 days I'm in the normal cycle gang. YAY!!!! a week until my MRI too. Got my follow up appointment for mid February already too. Still nothing for my thyroid. Which is mildly annoying.

I just wrapped DH's presents so that's one thing off my list for tomorrow. PHEW. I have so much to do I might cry.

FXSkip · 23/12/2016 23:26

Aww kwick I don't know what to say to that: if you can brush it off you're a better person than me. Personally I'd say 'comments like that hurt me, they don't help' but not let it spiral into a fall out,

sk1pper take it easy there champ!! I had two mulled wines (pre-bfp obvs) and felt woozy!

Did someone ask about symptoms? The answer is none really - a bit teary, A bit crampy/twingy, all normal for late cycle tbh. I feel so weirdly anxious/excited. I hope this one works.

miwelaisjacydo · 24/12/2016 06:04

Fxskip wow 😁Yay deffo BFP there

Hippychic79 · 24/12/2016 06:48

Kwick - I got referred to the Accupuncture guy by my naturopath / nutritionalist and when I went to see him I explained that I'm 37 nearly 38 eeeek and that I was prepping my body for pregnancy. I told him I didn't have a huge amount of money but this is like soooo important to me and that I was hoping that funds permitted I wanted to commit to coming every week. He said he's helped lots of women get pregnant and that he would be happy to help me ... and as such the charge would be £15 which I pay every other week. He's a professional guy who's been practising for years - I live in the south west of England... if that's near where you are I'd be happy to pm you his details.

Reference your mum - I completely understand that. Mine can be so tactless too - for years she has been on at me to get pregnant (I was married but I always knew it wasn't right ... well from the moment I was about to walk up the aisle ... and my mum convinced me it was just nerves even tho I knew it wasn't) ... anyway a few years later and with divorce behind me I have met the guy I do want to have kids with and marry (when he asks) i finally fessed up to my mum that I'm trying (oh wants to start properly in may) and my mum says .... oh it was easy for me to conceive!!!! Helpful i don't think!!! She forgets she was 23 when she had me. Anyway we're cool now after my last bfn she saw how upset I was and is now being much more supportive... but no I didn't get an apology for the comment ... she's forgotten she even made it! Anyway - the point is ... let it go, like the others say .... moral high ground is far better xxxx

Fxskip - fingers crossed but it's looking good so try not to worry. You have given me hope as I don't get to dtd too much fertile window or not as oh doesn't know how hard I'm trying ... he wants to go on holiday and then try, grrrrr. Keep us posted - we're all rooting for you Hun xxxxx

HepKestrel · 24/12/2016 06:50

Yey fxskip!!!!! So happy for you! Lsfx for a healthy pregnancy, you have so earned it.

Mooseville · 24/12/2016 06:57

Congrats skip See you on the grads thread when you're ready!!!

Merry Christmas Ladies! Have a fabulous time, spoil yourselves with wine, cheese, pate and love and family time. 2017 will be the year of the BFP.

FXSkip · 24/12/2016 07:42

Thanks again everyone. hippychic I'm trying not to read too much into it as I had an anembryonic pregnancy in June this year, which I miscarried in Aug, and the mc lasted for 3 months. I know the chances are that this is fine, but I won't be able to relax until I've seen a heartbeat in January!!

my mum once said to me it was likely I was infertile, since I'd been on the pill for 12 years and had never 'slipped up' Hmm and because my sister got pregnant within a few months of coming off the pill. She then proceeded to tell me how you are not a real person until you have a baby, life just isn't worth living etc.... she's a real gem, my mum.

Ah well. Did a digi- now not testing again. I promise!! moose yah see you there in like 4 months lol. I'm staying here for now!!

HepKestrel · 24/12/2016 07:53

Bloody 'el fxskip! Just read what your mum said! Hope you have her the classic ODFOD or something less polite.

HepKestrel · 24/12/2016 07:54

And finally, I fully understand you wanting to stay here ....

sk1pper · 24/12/2016 08:06

Skip - woah your mum sounds insensitive to say the least, at least you've got us on here to reaffirm you are normal and fertile!! So happy for you - I am wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy. And the same for all other recent graduates!
