Thread 22. TTC #1 - The one where the BFPs rolled in & long may it continue

Calling all Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers, IUI-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Mouse - that's really fab news but I get what you mean, not great to deal with AF on Xmas day. Your DH will just have to do everything Grin

Hippy - ah thanks lovely xx but won't be needing your AF inducing tips. It's finally here!

So my PMA for the day:

  • no brown spotting
  • my first 28 day cycle (normally 25-27)
  • minimal cramping (couple of pain killers and some PMS but this is a win for me)
  • the worst of AF will be over before Xmas day
  • cheeese and wine
  • more cheese

Thanks everyone for your supportive words. Xx

Anyone got any interesting symptoms? Kwick? Miranda?

FXSkip · 22/12/2016 09:53

CONGRATS STAR!!!! I knew it was your month, I am absolutely delighted.

EJ and Jam some intense stuff going on with you guys. EJ massive relief that it wasn't more serious - it is absolutely terrifying I can imagine. I had an accident earlier in the year, I was fine but covered in blood from a head wound, but I will never forget DH's face when he saw me. Glad to hear your DH is on the mend, and wishing you a cosy, cuddly christmas while he recovers.

Jam you might feel useless, and saying that is fine - its perfectly acceptable to take the lead from the grieving couple and just be there for them. Let them know that you care and that you're there for them.

Penguin what's happening with you? Did the spotting progress?

I'm pretty certain I'm out this month - Fertility Friend has decided I actually ovulated on CD 26 (3 days ago) so I have no idea whats going on, but we definitely haven't dtd enough so I am waiting for AF. I'd like her to come today so I can have a 28 day cycle, but realistically it will be xmas day!

Hippychic79 · 22/12/2016 10:16

Awww Sk1pper – I’m genuinely gutted for you my friend - flowers x3 for you which I can't seem to get the hang of uploading on a PC!
Sorry I pm’d you the tip and it probably was TMI – sorry hun.
Love, love, love your PMA and it sounds like your cycles are regulating and that you’re balancing out nicely.
Enjoy your cheese and cheese and cheese and wine.
Now get on the January bus with me and lets graduate together next cycle ….

FXSkip – Sorry to hear you feel like you’re out, try and stay positive… it only takes one good swimmer :)

FX to all those still waiting to test

xxxx

kwick · 22/12/2016 10:41

sk1pper I always find a bath stops mine Confused
Flowers well done for PMA though!!!

Flowers miw

hippy there is no such thing as TMI on this thread Xmas Grin
You are only having raspberry lead tea when you have had a definite bfn right?

Ladies just remembered: avoid rosemary scented body/face products!

My boobage ache continues and yes, I know!!! DO NOT TRUST THE BOOBS!!!

When I got my BFP before I also had a heightened sense of smell... and whilst I nearly passed out from the stench in the Post Office queue on Tuesday, I was surrounded by people who have not bathed or changed their clothes for quite some time.

Hippychic79 · 22/12/2016 10:48

Yes great PMA Sk1pper xxxxx

I'm kind of getting that there's no such thing as TMI on here, but I'm new to posting so need to get to know you all a bit better before I shock you too much with my antics lol

Yeah - I'm only drinking the tea post BFN and only for a week or so up to ovulation as Sk1pper kindly advised me not to drink it post ovulation.
Gosh theres so much to remember - never realised it would be this complex.

FX for you Kwick xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Keep us posted....
and stay away from smelly chavs lol

HepKestrel · 22/12/2016 10:58

hippy my cycles are between 29-35. Last cycle was a 35 day, so the limit of being normal.

Just to catch you up on my history though, due to stress I skipped two AFs last year, got pg and mmc resulting in eprc, so had epic 6 months no AF. So I am quite paranoid about AF disappearing without bfp again. (Understatement)

But my 2 AFs post MC have been regular-ish, but much heavier than in the past. So I need to just relax and think of myself as a newbie again.....

Hippychic79 · 22/12/2016 11:04

Awwww I'm so sorry to hear about you mc.
I can see why you'd be paranoid.
I love your attitude - its spot on... think of yourself as a newbie and do not stress... trust the Universe ... it has your back and I'm sure it will happen for you again... your body clearly knows how to conceive, this is a good thing even though it may not seem like it. My aunt had a still born and went on to conceive two lovely children... sometimes its just a timing thing.

what cd are you on now?
xxxxxxxx

Londonjam · 22/12/2016 11:11

Sorry skipper love. Definitely a result on your cycle though and no spotting. Please enjoy all of the cheese and wine.

Thanks for all the support for our friends. She messaged me yesterday to say she was breathing unaided and was starting to get some of her appetite back. I hope she gets home for Christmas. I keep thinking it must be so strange and awful for her not to have her bump kicking and moving :(

It really has put things in perspective. I feel very grateful to have my health and my lovely family and husband.

HepKestrel · 22/12/2016 11:24

So glad she is on the mend Jem . With modern medicine we kind of forget how dangerous pregnancy+childbirth used to be - and unfortunately is for a few unlucky women.

Hippy I'm cd6.

Hippychic79 · 22/12/2016 11:30

Glad your friend is on the mend Jam, you're so right - things like this do put things in perspective massively.

Hep - approaching your f/w over the xmas period then .... have a shagtastic time

xxxxxx

Miranda234 · 22/12/2016 11:32

Sorry af got you miw Flowers

Glad you DH is ok EJ that must have been terrifying. Hope he recovers quickly.

Sorry to hear about your friends Jam that's so sad. I'm sure they will get through it, my sister lost her baby at a day old (he had CDH) just after Christmas coming up for 2 years now, she amazed me with her strength through the whole thing, I hope your friends can find peace with it in the end and glad she is starting to get better Flowers

Fx for you kwick and fxskip

I've had mild cramping in the afternoon/evening the last two days which goes away by morning, not sure what af is playing at, hate waiting for it to appear! Have no symptoms other than that though...

sk1pper · 22/12/2016 12:33

Miranda - pregnant women get cramps around AF time so who knows! Fx for you though. It's hilarious how all the regular luteal phase symptoms are early pregnancy symptoms too. But always the same hormones I guess.

Londonjam · 22/12/2016 16:18

God Miranda your poor sister Sad she sounds incredibly strong!

I echo what skipper said about cramps. You just don't know! Fx

Starmist · 22/12/2016 20:07

London yay for bed socks! At least you have Christmas to give you some distraction from the 2ww. My main symptom is feeling ridiculously bloated & my tummy is quite tender. Boobs feel heavy & tingly sometimes too. I'm glad your friend is starting to recover, can't imagine what she must be going through.

Sorry AF got you Miw. Definitely get to the doctor & start the process of having tests. It will happen xx

Skipper sorry about AF but you have such a great PMA list.

Miranda I had some cramping just before AF was due so fingers crossed for you. How heartbreaking for your sister Flowers

miwelaisjacydo · 22/12/2016 20:13

Thanks everyone for kind words. Am desperately sad today. Nothing is shifting it.

Miranda your poor sister. How incredibly sad.

Hippychic79 · 22/12/2016 20:15

FlowersFlowersFlowers for you Miw xxx

Kathrino · 22/12/2016 20:41

Oh miw, I'm so sorry. And sk1pper too.

Miranda, how terrible for your sister and your whole family. I'm always in awe at the strength that some people have in the very worst of circumstances. FX for you that your cramping is a good sign for you.

Hippychic79 · 22/12/2016 21:03

Miranda -I second what Kathrino says xxx
Fx for you Hun xxx

WingingIt83 · 22/12/2016 21:32

I'm now making sure my feet are always covered up Xmas Smile thanks to you ladies!

Fingers crossed Miranda

I've got my cd21 blood test tomorrow. Currently guessing at 5dpo and only symptom that seems different is a racing heart beat. But not sure if I'm just noticing it for the first time after reading about it on these threads?

sk1pper · 22/12/2016 22:27

Is that the last of your initial tests now winging?

Miw - huge hugs for you. I hit a bit of a depression pocket around this time, I actually felt a lot better once I started the initial tests. I dont feel as hopless any more.

Welcome Orange!

FXSkip · 22/12/2016 22:42

star being bloated was a major symptom for me! No point worrying about the cramps - it happens in both good and bad cases, there's no way to know. So, best to assume it's good until you have reason to suspect otherwise and just enjoy the feeling of knowing you've got a little bean in there!

I also get racing heartbeat at the end of my cycle - it's. progesterone thing I think. Trying not to make anything of it this cycle as I drove myself insane last time. No af today, there goes my hopes of 28 day cycles...

HepKestrel · 22/12/2016 22:47

Bloating was major symptom for me too. Best wishes for healthy pregnancy star

Starmist · 23/12/2016 05:43

Thanks ladies xx I'm glad I've finished work for Christmas now, I was surprised how bloated I became so quickly, & I was getting paranoid people in the office would be able to tell.

LSFX for everyone, let's hope we have more BFPs soon xxxxx

miwelaisjacydo · 23/12/2016 07:34

Hi all, thanks all for support yesterday.
Sk1pper thanks 👍 I think going to Drs will help.

Am feeling a bit brighter today... it's Christmas and today got friend and her boys coming to play. Nothing like children to take your mind off wanting children!

Welcome orange.

Is everyone set for Christmas?
