Thread 22. TTC #1 - The one where the BFPs rolled in & long may it continue

Calling all Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers, IUI-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Congrats on the BFP Scottish, were having a nice run of luck! And glad to hear that the follicles are still doing what they should kwick!

Jam, I think there's always a chance of you DTD either side. I definitely wouldn't write the month off.

Welcome hippy, I hope this is your lucky cycle :)

Is anyone else boiling in a festive jumper today?

Hippychic79 · 16/12/2016 14:59

Baby dust xxxx

Londonjam · 16/12/2016 16:31

Wow really Nicky? Are you sure you didn't ovulate earlier? I can't tell you how much more hopeful this makes me feel about next week. I've been really worrying about him being away and me just waving my egg bye bye.

sk1pper · 16/12/2016 17:06

Does anyone else get super hungry towards the end of their luteal phase? I always have this, today I felt I haven't stopped eating (I don't think I have) and now I'm contemplating which takeaway I'm going to order early. I dread to think what I'll be like when I'm pregnant Grin

Nicky883 · 16/12/2016 17:32

London my positive opk was on cd13 ! I was so sure we were out we didnt dtd as we had my mum staying with us and i felt akward ;p

Binkybunny13 · 16/12/2016 17:45

Me skipper, I was super hungry even for me last month (had to get up at 1am and have a piece of toast- was so convinced I was preggers but was just greedy Blush)

I am so so so hopeful you are getting a BFP this month!

MouseLove · 16/12/2016 17:57

I'm super hungry all the time. Probably why I'm a fatty Grin

Kinda glad I didn't go on the Christmas party at work last night. Everyone was super hung over today. I got all my work done at 2pm and then browsed Amazon till 5.30 lol. I also saw the pics, all super slim, gorgeous in party dresses. I just do not fit in. Hmm

sk1pper · 16/12/2016 19:18

Mouse - don't put yourself down, I always think whenever someone makes an effort to dress up (tastefully ofc) then they always look beautiful no matter what shape or size. I don't know if this will make you feel better but I'm super slim. It it's not a good thing. I'm just a stick and dresses don't hang properly off my frame and I always compare myself to fuller women with curves. So works both way xx

miwelaisjacydo · 16/12/2016 20:41

Congrats Nicky and Scottish.
Kwick the growth sounds good.😀 Got everything crossed for you.
Mouse don't put yourself down. I am in the curvy side and feel like that with my skinny mini friends. I do think like sk1pper that anybody can look lovely when they dress to impress.

Had a lovely end to term .. we went to the panto which was lovely.

kwick · 16/12/2016 21:31

Welcome hippy!!
I would defo recommend FRER - they are super sensitive.
I test when the clinic tells me too minus 5 days

hep I am going to see Star Wars too - if I make it in time from IUI, which confirmed for tomorrow.
You know it is safe to have a drink - I think it takes some time before that impacts baby. Having said that I watched a documentary on danger of alcohol this morning on BBC iplayer! Bah humbug!!
Oh and methinks you need to get some FRERs in!!!! Xmas Grin

Alice darling!!! Welcome back!!

kathrino my Merry Christmad jumper (with Darth Vader on it) was very cosy and I was just right Xmas Smile

mouse I want your job!!! I did not stop all day - and will have to work whilst on holiday next week...
I am a lucious lady too - lets go to Moratania where we would be superstars!!!

Now shall I have a piece of cake... if I have with yoghurt that is sort of healthy right? Xmas Hmm

sk1pper · 16/12/2016 21:46

Yes eat the cake!! You'd make me feel better, I just had seconds of my Chinese takeaway.

Now I have to redecorate my tree, the lights blew the fuse 3 times so ive got to replace them which means taking everything off - grr!

HepKestrel · 16/12/2016 21:57

kwick unfortunately boots had sold out, so I just have some boots-own-brand..... I'll test tomorrow.... But I think I've just been stressed again.

kwick · 16/12/2016 22:03

Oh dear sk1pper... best of luck with tree not sure now is the time to mention I do not have one but I do have some tinsel up?

FX Hep!

I had cake with glug of milk - yummy!!! Have to watch how much cake I have though as too much gives a yucky feeling at night....Hmm

miwelaisjacydo · 16/12/2016 22:26

Sk1ipper good luck with that one!!

Pugmummy87 · 16/12/2016 23:14

Congrats Nicky and Scottish!!! Wonderful news.

Nicky can I ask what your tsh levels were? Mine were tested as part of initial bloods and it came back as 3.52. It's normal for the NHS but everything I've read suggested it should be a bit lower especially when ttc. GP didn't seem bothered by it.

Kwick we've just come back from watching Rogue One, it was good, I really enjoyed it. We also got a death star popcorn holder and a limited edition cup. We're such geeks.

Good to see you back Alice

Thanks for sharing my amazement over DH's sperm count lol. It's obviously me with the issues. I suspect I am not ovulating, fx it is just that and hopefully some clomid may help.

Londonjam · 17/12/2016 00:37

Meant to say welcome back alice good to have you back. 21 DPO?! Keeping fx for you Cake

And hep! AF stay away please.

Skipper I get mentally hungry second half of TWW too. Every month I hope it's pregnancy related but I think it must just be good old progesterone. Fx for you too hon, I feel like more BFP s are a brewing...

MouseLove · 17/12/2016 02:03

Ah usually my job isn't so cushty lol. But our biggest client went out for their Christmas meal and party today so the work dried up at 2pm lol. I didn't exactly chase that one.

Had a lovely evening sampling coffee with friends. I've become THAT person who can't stop talking about coffee. And sometimes I don't even drink a cup a day lol

Lots of EWCM still for me today (and the last 4 days) today is CD20 so please keep your fingers crossed for a longer cycle for me. I really don't want AF to turn up in 3 days. 8+ days will do me nicely please. (Knowing my luck it will be Christmas Eve) but I'm getting AF belly ache today. Sad

Starmist · 17/12/2016 04:59

Hey everyone sorry I've not posted for a while. I've been enjoying not thinking about TTC so much, I think the run up to Christmas is helping as I'm so excited Xmas Grin

Congrats Nicky & Scottish!!! What lovely news xx

Sorry you're in so much pain Mouse hope things improve for you soon. Love your PMA.

Great news about your juicy follicle Kwick keeping everything very tightly crossed for you.

Hope everyone is ok. Sending baby dust to you all xx

Currently I'm 11 DPO. Would love the magic of a Christmas BFP, here's hoping.

Hippychic79 · 17/12/2016 06:38

Thanks for welcoming me ladies.
Congrats to Nicky and Scottish - really pleased for you both.
Keep the bfps rolling in ladies .... come on santa - we don't mind if you come to us early with some good news xxxx

Nicky883 · 17/12/2016 08:33

Pug mine was 3.48 gp said normal as my progesterone was high (78) but fertility consultant said that we want ttc and pregnant women to be between 1-2 he put me in the lowest levothyroxine and i have been taking that last month . I would push your gp to get more tests done regatding thyroid . Do you have any of the other symptoms of hypothyroism ?
I showed her the latest NICE guidelines yesterday and she agreed to monitor my levels and keep them at 2.5 and lower !
There is a lot of research that higher than 2.5 affects not only pregnancy but conception as well(implantation) . Is so frustrating that they dont do anything about it as its so much easier to fix that first than going through invasive fertility procedures .
If everything else seems fine with you( as it was for me ) this is something you should investigate
I hve no idea if my levels have gone down wiith this dosage and i am terrified now ! I will have a blood test next week will keep you posted !

Dixiechick1991 · 17/12/2016 08:39

Hi everyone
So officially I'm 4dpo but unofficially I'm 13dpo (I had all the ov symptoms and darkening lines 2 weeks ago but week I tried an opk and it came up positive for 3 days)
I've thought forks taste awful, EWCM and for the past 2 days I've needed to wee about 8 times in 8 hours and was up twice in the night to wee too. Normally I can go once while at work, I went 6 times yesterday. Awful cold that I just can't shift.
Did a preg test on Tuesday, bfn obviously. I think I'm just hopelessly symptoms spotting

HepKestrel · 17/12/2016 09:12

Cd1 . At least my cycles aren't screwed again

MouseLove · 17/12/2016 09:27

Ah hep. So sorry. SadFlowersChocolateCakeWine

Dixie sounds promising --but go stand in the corner for symptom spotting

Nicky I reeeeeally want to know what my levels are. I'm apparently slightly hyperthyroid and waiting to see a specialist. I hope they tell me they don't need to medicate but I'm worried that might be having an extra effect on me too. As well as the stupid pill, my high inflammatory levels, my dodgy pelvis and joints, that I'm an old lady, and I'm a fatty.

Dixiechick1991 · 17/12/2016 09:42

I know hangs head in shame how could I

Anyway I POAS this morning just because I thought why not and obviously a BFN. Onto 2017 TTC

harrietm87 · 17/12/2016 10:13

pug do you know what your T4 was? (TSH alone can't diagnose hypothyroidism though gives a good indication). I've had it since i was a teenager so am familiar with all the crap GPs tell you. For TTC the NICE guidelines are that TSH should be under 2.0. I was at 3.99 last year (on 150mcg of thyroxine) and pushed for an extra 25mcg. Now down to 0.88 and feeling great. Find out what your T4 is then go back to your GP with a print out of the guidelines. You can find them by googling but I'll post a link later.
