LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

MM.. may be Bliss if it happened at the start of my FW. But CB has static smiley today so may be its ovulation bleed. I have never got that before though. I keep getting really sharp stabbing pains around my public bone.
Odd - but not going to read to much into it.

How are you feeling? Sleeping any better?

Blissfulignorance · 08/12/2016 11:32

Yes best not to google that one, who knows what it might come up with.

Feeling better today thank you, had a pretty good sleep last night minus DHs phone vibrating at god knows what hour. Hopefully it'll stay that way, I'm on. Ugh ta again this weekend and I hate not sleeping well in the day.

Pyjamas81 · 08/12/2016 12:43

So back in the office after being poked and prodded and getting results. First of all - I'm a big fan of the Lister Clinic. So quick and efficient and very matter of fact with absolutely no trying to sell is things we may not need.

In a nutshell - DH sperm analysis really good, my ultrasound came back normal, showed I had ovulated this month. Follicle count was 11 which she said is fine but not amazing and my AMH levels are low for my age. She was very clear that AMH is only really relevant if we're having ivf, and also tells us that time is an issue we need to consider if we want more than one (which we do) which is good to know.

Next step is to get an X-ray to check whether there's any Fallopian tube damage . If there is damage, ivf is the best option. If not, then we can carry on naturally for a bit and if no luck then IVF.

Fx this is our lucky month!!

HellsBellsK · 08/12/2016 13:03

Thats good Bliss glad your having a better day. I hear you on the vibrating phone - DH always has his phone on vibrate it drives me crazy as I'm also a light sleeper.

pj That is brilliant that you got the results so fast - great to have a piece on mind. They sound good though. Fx for this month and that you don't have to go back for the x ray.

Blissfulignorance · 08/12/2016 13:04

Pjs I'm so pleased you got answers, it sounds mostly positive which is great! And the Guinness doesn't seem to have made a difference - win. I hope the X-rays go well too. Even if ivf is your way forward your positive attitude will make all the difference. My fingers are well and truly crossed!

Amz26 · 08/12/2016 14:54

Sounds good to me pyj I'm i right in thinking this is your 6th cycle? If you don't mind me asking what made you have the test done at this stage of TTC? As I know the doctors won't do a thing until you've been trying for over a year, as they say it's very common to take a while for us to get our BFP X

Pyjamas81 · 08/12/2016 16:01

Thanks guys - yes, overall I'm pleased with the results and can relax a bit now. Although knowing low AMH is useful so we don't relax too long and leave it too late!

Amz- yep, it's 6th cycle but as I'm 35 we want to see if there are any underlying issues sooner rather than later. We went private in the end just for ease and speed, but as I'm over 35, my GP said I would get treated on NHS.

On the upside - doctor said drinking in moderation during two week window was totally fine. She said treat alcohol like a European and not a binge drinking Brit ha ha. So will enjoy a glass of wine tonight!

Lots of creamy CM today which is unusual - must not read into it must not read into it....

Dr said "good luck this month and hope we don't see you again!" Brilliant Grin Fingers crossed I won't have to bother with the x Ray in Jan!

Amz26 · 08/12/2016 16:36

Pjs -Yes it's a good idea you know all this info now! I will be doing the same thing after 6months.. It's good to to put your mind at rest. Fingers crossed that the X-Ray won't be needed and it can be swap for a scan😀

It's so hard not to overanalyse everything.. My partner and I did ttc for 3months in 2014 but decided we should wait due to an Injury my partner had :( I was overthinking everything, why does TTC drive me so crazy?

Seahawk80 · 08/12/2016 17:27

Pjs glad all was ok! Is DH wandering round like a stud?!

Scan was all good today. Another TWW now for the results - they never end!

Pyjamas81 · 08/12/2016 17:32

Ha ha - he was relieved to say the least seahawk! And yes, bet he's been strutting around all day!

Glad your scan went well Smile Those damn TWWs though!

Blissfulignorance · 08/12/2016 19:17

Glad it went well seahawk damn those pesky TWW!

Enduring mine again now

bassetmum · 08/12/2016 20:44

Glad your tests were good pjs one less thing to worry about like that would stop any of us worrying. I had a definitely negative opk today after the two strong ones so think thats me done. Tried to dtd last night as well (two nights in a row is unheard of these days) but the oh couldn't produce the goods if you get my drift. Not convinced this will be our month as oh bad back has definitely hindering the bding.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 08/12/2016 22:22

PJS sounds like your results were positive, I also hope the Dr doesn't see you again.

Seahawk Good news on the scan.

Well my FW is almost at an end but I'm away for work so no DTD. Just going to have a bath and then bed. Managed to DTD on CD 11, 13, 14, 16, 17 of 31 day cycle so have given it a good shot. Plus DH did the wiggle! Any more this month is just for fun.
Have 4 Chrstsmas work events over the next 2 weeks so will be "drinking like a European" to quote PJS' doctor. I'm quite good at hiding the not drinking (unless someone else goes to the bar for me, then it all goes pear-shaped Confused ).

bluebell17 · 09/12/2016 07:05

Hi all

I've posted a couple of times before but hope you don't mind me posting again now.

To recap, I came off the pill Sunday 16th Oct my usual 'Pill period' was 21.10-24.10. My next period happened 23.11 with really red blood at first and then almost stopped around 29.11 but carried on with brown blood (TMI, sorry) from then until 3.12.

Last night (8.12) the brown blood started again. I've just done an IC and it was of course a BFN.

I don't know what to think? I know it can be irregular at first after the pill but this has been 34 days then lasting 10/11 days and then starting 4 days later again?

MouseLove · 09/12/2016 08:19

Bluebell, again it's totally normal as you probably aren't ovulating yet. That's the hit of the stupid pill. I had 50 days, 23 days and I'm now on a new cycle but hopefully it should be more like the 28 days I wish for but I know, if it doesn't happen, it's normal. X

LisaSimpsonsbff · 09/12/2016 08:28

Sounds like good news, pjs!

I, erm, didn't know that we thought drinking in the 2ww might not be OK Blush. I wouldn't say I drink heavily (except for a special occasion once or twice a year), but everyone does know I like a drink - I have no idea how I'm going to cover it up if I ever do get pregnant! Luckily I now drive rather than take the train to work so that's a built in excuse there: in my old job the first time I said no to a post-work pint they all would have known!

Fx for both basset and baguette as you go into your 2ww

bluebell other people have much more direct experience of this than me but I think that probably is within the normal range for the first few months off the pill. One thing I remember learning when I tried a pill that really didn't agree with me a few years ago is that doctors have a much broader definition of 'spotting' than I'd use: I said that I was having enough (brown) blood that I always had to wear a sanitary towel and they said 'oh, spotting is normal' - to me spotting is maybe a bit of blood when you wipe, literally a few spots. So in my case being told that 'some spotting' would be normal coming on or off a pill didn't really prepare me.

Cd5 and AF winding down here. I asked DH last night whether we should maybe have a more relaxed cycle this go - no OPKs, just aiming for regularish sex. I thought this particularly because I think my FW will be over Christmas. Apparently this very much is not what he wants! He admitted for the first time that he also thought I'd be pregnant by Christmas and was really disappointed last cycle. I think he was trying not to tell me that in case it upset me, but actually it made me feel less like the only one going crazy!

Oh gosh bliss that dream sounds horrid, you poor thing.
pjs so glad DH's Guinness sperm sample came back good, and it sounds like the probability scales aren't tipped in the wrong direction. I'm really very very pleased for you, it must be a weight off your mind - and you are so positive which is lovely and I'm sure a good thing for TTC!
hells your relaxed Christmas plan sounds good, busy months are the worst when you're TTC, it's like having another full time job!
bluebell, I'm afraid mouse is right, you'll need to wait a bit longer to settle out.
Hello emwithme, Mulberry and Amz!

Soooooo this morning... I cleaned out my rabbits (I never let them get dirty, so it's not too gross a job) and started dry-heaving... That's NEVER happened before! And I had low "pulling" cramps last night for an hour or two. I'm 7-8DPO (ish). Oh please please please let this be my month!

LisaSimpsonsbff · 09/12/2016 08:29

Sorry for the epic post!

Ooh, fx kirsty! When is AF due?

OP posts:
Kirstyinnorway · 09/12/2016 08:34

Aw lisa that's so cute of your DH! So you'll still be OPK-ing over Christmas? We will be too, if this month isn't the one (my FW is 24-31 Dec!)
I only drink when AF is here at the moment (and yes, friends have been guessing and I've sharply shut them down, so they don't think I'm preggo but they do think I'm a bitch!) but following pjs's doc's advice I might scale down to one or two glasses a week if I'm desperate!

Oggy88 · 09/12/2016 08:35

So I woke up to this:

First time TTC - thread five!
Kirstyinnorway · 09/12/2016 08:35

Thanks lisa! AF due on the 16th. I am sitting on my hands desperately trying to forget the FRERs I have in the cupboard that I bought while back in the UK. They say I can test 6 days before my missed period Shock Shock Shock
I won't of course (probably). I'm planning on testing the 15th/16th though!

Oggy88 · 09/12/2016 08:35
Smile
Kirstyinnorway · 09/12/2016 08:36

OGGY! Yay! Congratulations!

Kirstyinnorway · 09/12/2016 08:36

(How many days previous did you test? Asking for a friend. Ahem.)
