LisaSimpsonsbff · 05/12/2016 17:02

Yet again we've managed to exchange nearly 1000 posts swapping our tales of peeing on sticks, dancing for babies, trying to stop Auntie Flo's all too frequent visits, and sometimes, just sometimes, of Big Fat Positives! So let's begin thread five with some updated stats. Me first...

Age 29
Cycle #4
Cycle day 1

Sorry kiwi! :(

Pjs, sorry about the rash! Glad you are able to sit back and enjoy tww! Definitely keep tips there!

yellowfrontdoor · 30/01/2017 20:26

Sorry Kiwi Flowers

Bassett fx tonight!

I got a negative OPK today, but wanted to dtd just in case... problem
Is I seemed to have worn DH out! Blush
We're not usually this 'regular'!
Hoping that we've done enough.

Pyjamas81 · 30/01/2017 20:34

My DH is the same yellow - I find FW tedious, but to be honest, he does most of the work even if we do try to keep it quick so he gets worn out! It means we barely dtd outside FW, we both welcome the long break from it!

Oh don't you worry unicorn - sure I'll be on here wondering if am pregnant because my left toe hurts 😂

How annoying kiwi - do you know how long your luteal phase is?

Blissfulignorance · 30/01/2017 20:59

Evening all

Sorry kiwi I completely get how you feel, I've thrown more than one wobbly since ttc. Is a shite thing to do sometimes. Feel better soon.

My DH is still keen but I'm tired and had enough now. Tmi I find if we do it too much I can get sore. Not keen then.

Well the weekend was another wet one for me, another year older now 😕. I had a moment of feeling crap as I honestly thought I'd have done it by now. Oh well.

Think I'm going to test Friday but probably won't need to as the mood swings are definitely here and I'm starting to get the odd cramp. Oddly the only symptom that's different from usual is my boobs don't hurt at all and they are usually killer for a few days before af. I'm taking no notice though honest.

kiwi17 · 30/01/2017 21:21

I don't know :( it's all such a mess. I think this month was the first time I managed to possibly calculate ovulation, I may have been completely wrong and ovulated after I thought!

Eva30 · 30/01/2017 22:32

kiwi is it definitely AF or just spotting? Sorry you're down, we know the feeling Sad
pjs jealous of your down time!
blissful are you Cycle 9? I remember you were close to me? Keep going, we will get there
basset good luck !

Still neg OPK today but a big blob of ewcm lifted my spirits. Now there's something I never thought I'd say.

bassetmum · 30/01/2017 22:39

Well we managed to dtd yay. Its strange we talking about our bedroom dancing with random strangers haha. Although I think I am close to ovulating as without being tmi I could feel my left ovary whilst dtd.

Oh no kiwi. Its it something like even if you get the perfect timing and conditions theres only as 25-35% chance of conception. Its amazing we are here at all.

Yay for ewcm eva.

I'm sorry you are having a bad time bliss but happy birthday (?) for the weekend just gone.

JeNeBaguetteRien · 31/01/2017 07:56

Sorry you're feeling down. kiwi and bliss. Just laughed at Eva's EWCM comment.
Had to get up super early to DTD this morning as didn't manage last night and I'm away for a few days with work now. Have had 5 days of flashing smiles on my Clearblue. Sod's law I have to go today.

Eva30 · 31/01/2017 12:27

Oh that's typical soda law jene - hope the little swimmers hang around for the egg!
Cd17 and still no ov. OPK is a bit darker today but not much. I started temping again this month and no rise. I'm going to burn the sodding Pregnacare!

JeNeBaguetteRien · 31/01/2017 14:01

Thanks Eva. Like PJs the only thing I noticed with Pregnacare was fluorescent wee (but I also get that with Berocca - - hangover cure-- vitamins).
I've been taking the Boots own conception vitamins for about a month now as Pregnacare were out of stock and wee had returned to its usual colour! Sorry for the great detail but there's no such thing as TMI here is there?

bassetmum · 31/01/2017 15:58

Oh no jene. What rubbish timing.

Fx eva you get your positive soon.

Well the dr this morning was totally useless. Apparently my horrendous cramps are normal as they don't go on for days and I don't have a heavy flow!! The fact it was unusual meant nothing. The lack of sleeping is down to feeling down (!) and having stress in my life. Apparently it could be linked to losing dad and the fact we haven't fallen pregnant yet!!

kiwi17 · 31/01/2017 18:14

eva not really sure. It's been a tiny bit of brown blood yesterday and again a bit today in my knickers... :/

DancingUnicorn · 31/01/2017 18:42

Basset, I'm sorry the appt wasn't helpful. Did they at least offer suggestions to help reduce stress? Is there another surgery in the area you could go to instead?

JeNeBaguetteRien · 01/02/2017 07:45

Oh Basset that is disappointing. You shouldn't have to put up with the horrendous cramps. Sometimes it helps to spell it out in terms "the cramps are so bad I can't stand for longer than x or find it difficult to do (insert routine task that you struggle with due to the pain)" and that you'd like to be checked by a gynaecologist. Probably best to try again with a different GP.
kiwi fingers crossed for you.

Just got 6th flashing smiley so if I get static tomorrow maybe I can DTD when I get home tomorrow night. Currently away with work.

Mrskjneate · 01/02/2017 08:00

Hi ladies, well we havent succeeded this month as AF arrived with full steam on Monday. So disappointed, but we'll keep trying. Only thing is we both arent been for a baby to be born in December - its not a massive deal, but we know people with birthdays in December and they always seem to moan! Obviously if we conceive in Feb it would be November but then going into March it would be December Hmm I don't know......

wishfulthinking21 · 01/02/2017 08:14

Hi all. New to this and looking for some advice. 32, first time and ttc for 8 months now. Seems I have a 36 day cycle is this normal? Starting to get worried it's just not going to happen

florafoxtrot · 01/02/2017 10:47

Hi Wishful, do you mean you have a 36 day cycle every month? I don't think that's abnormal at all, I think irregular cycles are of more concern than just simply longer ones.

Hope you're ok kiwi

Wow basset that's fairly alarming shit support from your Doctor. Did they suggest anything at all for how you are feeling? Or for the cramps? Do you have private health insurance or anything that you could push to get a scan?

mrskj I feel the same about December birthdays but think we will just keep trying - we are on month 7 and I'm not really prepared to miss a month either if that makes sense. Maybe sods law will come into play and I'll be success in two months time!

Hope everyone else is doing OK. I'm 7DPO - although CD28 as I didn't ovulate until CD21 for some bizarre reason - and just going with the flow. I do keep having this weird feeling that its just not going to happen though and something is wrong with us in some way. Please tell me you all have those sorts of feelings?!

florafoxtrot · 01/02/2017 10:49
  • have success. I'm not that much of an idiot to describe myself as success Blush
wishfulthinking21 · 01/02/2017 11:25

Hi Flora well that's the average apparently lol. It can range from 29 days to 39 days (i have an app that tracks for me) and it told my my average was 36. It's sooo frustrating especially when you feel everyone around you is falling pregnant at the drop of a hat

bassetmum · 01/02/2017 12:02

I know everyone. It was rather annoying. Actually made me angry. No I don't have private insurance but I am going to wait and see what happens this month and then go back if need be. Well I think I ovulated yesterday or today as my cervix check today was not favourable and the cm was like glue.

Im not too bothered about dates. I know I do moan about being close to Christmas as my birthday is the end of November. At least now we aren't likely to be heavily pregnant through the summer. Positive mental attitude there.

Wishful I know what you mean about everyone falling pregnant quickly. Everyone around me how have had kids fell pregnant the first month of trying or whilst on the pill!!!

florafoxtrot · 01/02/2017 13:31

Wishful did you come off birth control when you started trying? That might account for some of the longer cycles. How many months worth of tracking do you have? It just takes an average so if you've a couple of long ones then it'll push up the average if that makes sense?

Pyjamas81 · 01/02/2017 13:38

Sorry to hear about your GP basset - it's so disheartening when it feels like they're not on our side.

And boo to AF Mrskj - make sure you take care of yourself 💐

I feel the same way about December, but not strongly enough to waste a cycle and I figure that while annoying for them if their birthday is in December, they'd probably prefer that to not existing!

We really want to book a skiing holiday for our anniversary in April - but not know what the situation will be is making that difficult! A skiing holiday where I can't ski or drink is bordering on inhumane ha ha.

Nothing really to report here at 6dpo - the wait continues! Work drinks tomorrow night - will be sampling the non-alcoholic beer.

wishfulthinking21 · 01/02/2017 13:53

Yeah Flo. Came off bc in June so got a log of 8 months. Dunno why but u just always assume that when u come off it it will happen straight away

florafoxtrot · 01/02/2017 14:12

Are you starting to see anymore of a pattern to the cycles? Or do they still vary quite a lot? Although saying that - its not a huge swing either
x

wishfulthinking21 · 01/02/2017 15:39

The past 3 months have been 32, 39, and 38 days so a wee bit of a pattern. I was on bc for a number of years so unsure if it's just taking a while to leave my system. Hubby already has a wee boy so I'm kinda paranoid that any problems lie with me x
